Once again, Trump does what Master Putin commands!

Bill Browder is the American/British financier who uncovered $230M tax fraud scheme in Russia, and was subsequently blamed for the fraud while his auditor Sergei Magnitsky was murdered in Russian prison- leading to the Magnitsky act and sanctions at the center of Trump’s Russia collusion.

Russia is desperately trying to get their hands on Browder in order to tie up the loose ends on Putin’s corruption and fraud. They’ve issued 5 Interpol arrest warrants- weaponizing Interpol for their corrupt and anti-western schemes.

Except now they have collaborators in the White House and US Congress. Right after Russia issued the latest Interpol warrant for Browder, the Trump administration revoked his US visa.

Sad!

Mueller has the same problem(s) that the prosecutors at the Nuremberg trials had. There’s such a mountain of material to sort through, that the problem isn’t finding the information, but rather, it’s choosing on what to use.

I guess that’s a nice problem to have.

Sometimes I have to take a sanity break. So, I disappear from time to time. Considering what the state of health care is in this country, you know things are bad when apps from the App Store start making fun of it:

This was from my phone the other day.

This fits neatly with the observation that people who have never lived more than a few miles from where they grew up favored Trump by large margins.

After WWII, my Dad and Mom left Pittsburgh, where they grew up and moved to South Central Pennsylvania to find work.

Their 6 children all moved to different states to find work. Now we’re scattered all over the US from Florida to Hawaii.

This may sound heartless, but nobody is guaranteed a good job where they want to live.

It would be great to help the economies where things have been declining, but you know, one way of viewing high local unemployment/low local wages is as local overpopulation. There are too many workers for the number of available jobs, and those small factories that used to support towns all over the US are simply not coming back.

I don’t know what the solution is, but it’s not staying put, waiting for the jobs to come back.

A big problem is that rich parts of the country where people could make a lot more money have strict zoning laws which make affordable housing extremely scarce. Zoning for single family detached dwellings is segregationist and should be ended or greatly limited.

Exactly, the worst imbalances are accomplished through height restrictions in places that have plenty of jobs but where the cost of living is prohibitive for the workers needed to fill them. Another thing that exacerbated the problem was that the promise of the digital economy, that people would work from anywhere and collaborate across vast distances never really materialized and instead those high paying jobs ended up concentrated within a few localized tech hubs.

This also reflect on the toxic abuses of social media and how easily it was used to undermine our society and democracy. People clearly do work more efficiently when they can see each other and communicate in person, and that’s true of the bonds developed outside of work. When we removed the moderating influence of physical presence it became easier for totally anonymous voiced in unmoderated spaces to poison the discourse and incubate toxic ideologies. These toxic ideologies found rich soil to grow in the places that the modern tech economy left behind, where people rarely saw those from different cultural backgrounds were allowed to wallow in their resentments and by virtue of never being exposed in person to counter-examples could easily be manipulated.

From the link:

Be smart: This isn’t a Republican or Democratic problem. At every level of government, both parties represent distressed areas. But the economic fortunes of the haves and have-nots have only helped to widen the political chasm between them, and it has yet to be addressed by substantial policy proposals on either side of the aisle.

Hip Hop Star Cardi B calls all of Albany NY racist, who knew?

The incident started around 1 a.m. because of a noise complaint against members of Cardi B’s team. Hotel staff said they smelled marijuana, Albany police spokesman Steve Smith said. In a video posted to her Instagram page afterward Cardi B said no one in her group smokes marijuana and that she believes they were asked to leave because they were the only non-white people on the floor.”Albany is known for being racist,” she said in the video.

i think he never heard such a name, broad minded world traveler and student of other cultures than his own
thought it had to be some kind of mistake - because, again he never heard of such a thing
and so couldnt allow his image to look stupid by saying a name that made no sense

reading the brief, asking for clarification, verifying before making the call - oh why do i bother?
