Myeshia Johnson Confirms Rep. Frederica Wilson’s Account: Trump ‘Couldn’t Remember My Husband’s Name’

Donald Trump and John Kelly viciously attacked Rep. Frederica Wilson, called her a liar and set the right wing mob on her.

But now we know who was really lying — as Myeshia Johnson confirms Wilson’s account and says Trump couldn’t even remember her husband’s name.

Myeshia Johnson, the widow of slain U.S. Army Sgt. La David Johnson, confirmed Rep. Frederica Wilson’s account of her phone call with President Donald Trump on Monday.

During an interview with ABC’s Good Morning America, Johnson said that Trump didn’t seem to know her husband’s name when he talked with her on the phone.

“He couldn’t remember my husband’s name,” Johnson said. “That’s what hurt me the most.”

Johnson told host George Stephanopoulos that Trump’s words during the phone call made her feel “very upset.”

“It made me cry even worse,” she said.

Johnson also defended Rep. Wilson by saying that the congresswoman didn’t fabricate or exaggerate any details of her call with the president.

“Whatever she said was not fabricated,” Johnson said of Wilson. “What she said was 100 percent correct.”

When asked by Stephanopoulos if she had anything to say to Trump now, Johnson simply responded, “No, I don’t have nothing to say to him.”

What an absolute disgrace for this craven, dishonest White House.

And now, Trump is calling Myeshia Johnson a liar too.

Greets and saluts from the Resistance in the NYC metro area. Trump lies. Trump bullies. He projects. He bloviates. Also, Trump obfuscates and deflects so that people are focusing on X when they should be focusing on Y.

Trump plays the media, and the media simply gives up on asking the tough questions.

Media outlets have given up asking Trump about his tax returns.

Yes, those tax returns are important, but so is why FEMA promised 25% power restored on Puerto Rico and yet barely 20% have power restored more than a month after Maria hit.

Millions are without power and safe drinking water, and Trump spends more time golfing and tweeting than he does making all available assets available to restore basic services in Puerto Rico or the USVI.

In fact, it looks like there’s issues with FEMA in Texas and Florida as well, so the 10 out of 10 must be on a curve, where 10 points were added because Trump likes round numbers.

Other questions the media must ask:

Trump’s tax scheme also apparently includes significant changes to the 401k maximum, which means that for millions of Americans who rely on this program for retirement savings, Trump’s gunning to use your retirement to fund corporate tax cuts and tax cuts for millionaires like himself.

Trump/GOP wants to reduce the threshold from $17,000 (set aside the catchup provision for those over a certain age), to as little as $2,000. That means if you’re making $75,000 and try to set aside 5% of your income in retirement savings, you’d get hit with taxes for the amount over $2,000: in this case $1,750 would be taxed at your effective tax rate.

So, this would be a major tax hit for anyone trying to save for retirement, all so that millionaires get bigger tax breaks.

Trump and GOP are gaming the system so that rich get richer, and everyone else gets the burdens.

re: #19 Weaselone

At this point, I don’t think they’re going to touch those retirement accounts. Money managers and investment houses have been touting the Roths as a better choice than the original IRA since they are untaxed on the back end (original IRA is tax free to start, but you pay tax on distributions).

With 401ks, they’re looking to totally fuck over people who use them as their primary retirement vehicle since the money is deducted directly from their paychecks and millions of people use it to try and save enough for retirement (and most still fail to do that). This hurts anyone trying to get ahead and save for retirement.

I give her credit for going public. She had to know the attacks will come because they always do for Black people. She must be as strong as her husband to do this.

And as far as anyone being a thug, it’s the Orange Criminal squatting in the White House.

Fucking Trump is acting like he was the one with the loss in all of this. He’s crying more then the widow.

Again, Donny did this all to himself. He scrambled to answer whether he had contacted the families knowing he hadn’t and it was all downhill from there because he had to lie instead of saying something as simple as no he had not and we are working on that.

Isn’t this the guy that said he had the best brain, the best education, the best negotiator. He sucks as far as quick thinking on his feet. If anything he may be the best liar ever in the White House.

And his supporters lap it up - I can only safely conclude that they are thin-skinned, whining, overgrown toddlers as well, “adults” with the emotional maturity of ill-tempered two-year-olds throwing a temper tantrum. As a matter of fact, I’d daresay that Trump’s election represents nothing less than a collective temper tantrum from a not-insignificant share of the electorate.

Anyway, on a different note, I’m off to a Jodo Shinshu retreat in Warsaw this Friday for the weekend. Looking forward to it - should help clear the mind and the spirit.

Zeman is a bit of a nut, to be honest. He despises journalists because they dare to ask him questions.

He’s running for re-election in January……that is, if he makes it that long. I happened to catch some brief appearance of his on Czech TV and to be blunt, I was shocked at how bad he looked. My immediate thought was, “My God, he has cancer or something.”

It’s widespread speculation here that he may well be terminally ill and he’s hiding it.

He certainly did attack her by attacking her family friend Rep Wilson as a liar. And as for the call being private, she has every right to publicize it. Joe needs to shut the fuck up. And once again Kelly wasn’t criticized for being a four star general, he was criticized for outright lying about Wilson. But Joe knows that. If the Conventional Wisdom didn’t see this coming, the Conventional Wisdom is really dumb. MSNBC struggled during Obama, because it had to defend the party in power. That would be this: Trump Admin Revokes Bill Browder’s US Visa (Daily Kos):

Bill Browder is the American/British financier who uncovered $230M tax fraud scheme in Russia, and was subsequently blamed for the fraud while his auditor Sergei Magnitsky was murdered in Russian prison- leading to the Magnitsky act and sanctions at the center of Trump’s Russia collusion.

Russia is desperately trying to get their hands on Browder in order to tie up the loose ends on Putin’s corruption and fraud. They’ve issued 5 Interpol arrest warrants- weaponizing Interpol for their corrupt and anti-western schemes.

Except now they have collaborators in the White House and US Congress. Right after Russia issued the latest Interpol warrant for Browder, the Trump administration revoked his US visa.

While this doesn’t directly answer your question, this article about another US-Interpol topic indicates that conservatives would have shit their pants a long time ago had Interpol had any direct influence in the US.

Russia is known for abusing the Interpol system:

According to The Open Dialog Foundation, Russia and other former Soviet republics like Azerbaijan, Belarus and Kazakhstan frequently misuse the Interpol system. The foundation’s reports cite 44 politically motivated cases which have passed through the Interpol system. Of these, 18 cases originated in Russia, 10 in Kazakhstan and five in Belarus.

Edit: So I would say no, this wasn’t an automatic trigger by a law or agreement. This is the Trump administration.

Interesting fact about Interpol: In the 1930s, Germany took control of Interpol, basically making it an arm of the Nazis:

Following Anschluss in 1938, the organization fell under the control of Nazi Germany, and the Commission’s headquarters were eventually moved to Berlin in 1942.[12] Most members withdrew their support during this period.[9] From 1938 to 1945, the presidents of Interpol included Otto Steinhäusl, Reinhard Heydrich, Arthur Nebe, and Ernst Kaltenbrunner. All were generals in the SS, and Kaltenbrunner was the highest ranking SS officer executed after the Nuremberg Trials.

Back of the napkin math on Trump/GOP fuckery on 401k in my own financial situation.

I max out my 401k. No kids and tight financial control. That means if GOP drops the 401k max down to $2,000, I’m going to see a tax hit of …

$15,000 taxed at the 33% rate.

Yeah, so I get whacked for essentially $5,000 more in taxes. I’d have to hope that other deductions and credits aren’t hit as well, and that the so called expanded standard deduction makes up for it (*cough* not likely), or the itemized deduction is still applicable in my case.

Oh, and since I live in NJ, I’m likely going to see my taxes go up even more if GOP/Trump get rid of the mortgage interest deduction (or curb it) or the state & local tax deduction.

That combination would mean that someone like myself who is upper middle class would see a massive tax hike, all because Trump and GOP want to give millionaires their massive tax breaks, like the estate tax repeal.

Fuck this GOP and fuck Trump.

There was a report the other day that said Trump was angry that Republicans couldn’t figure out how to cut taxes on the rich, keep the budget balanced, and cut taxes on the middle class, that they had to raise taxes on the middle class to make it work. In other words, he’s clueless about budgets.

He’s never had a budget in his life. He’s had a board of directors keeping his companies afloat for him…largely steered by his daughter. When he has made the decisions, he’s failed.

A Cranky One  Oct 23, 2017 • 9:58:06am

To me, one key thing about this whole affair is that Dim Buff Un’s White House seems incapable of performing the normal day-to-day functions of an administration.

The fact that they’ve had to scramble to get the names and family information from the DoD about slain soldiers is evidence of the dysfunction.

We had some early indications of that dysfunction when the so-called President claimed a naval group was headed to NK when in fact is was sailing in the opposite direction. If the President wanted the group headed to NK, who should have given the order? Who should have acted on that order? Who should have verified that the order was being followed? If the Commander in Chief doesn’t have the most basic command structures in place to handle such events, what does that say about the WH? This is especially distressing when dealing with the military chain of command.

It’s obvious that this administration doesn’t have a clue about its responsibilities or how to carry out those responsibilities. And they don’t seem to care about trying to learn what the responsibilities are and how to ensure those functions are carried out effectively and efficiently. This is how we end up with a gutted State Dept and with so many key positions in the administration unfilled. They don’t understand why those positions exist, why they are important and why they should be staffed. They assume their lack of understanding is equivalent to the positions being unnecessary.

We’re fucked.

re: #150 lawhawk

Or… if you have adjusted income of $100K, currently your taxes would be more than $30K. If you get a $4K reduction, that says something about who they’re calling “the average American family.”

Even though we all know, people with an adjusted income of $100K are not even close to “average”. (the median family income is about $60K, before deductions)

This is encouraging:

Animated by opposition to President Donald Trump and the Republican congressional majorities, at least 162 Democratic candidates in 82 GOP-held districts have raised over $100,000 so far this year, according to a POLITICO analysis of the latest FEC data. That’s about four times as many candidates as House Democrats had at this point before the 2016 or 2014 elections, and it’s more than twice as many as Republicans had running at this point eight years ago, on the eve of capturing the House in the 2010 wave election.

Nearly three dozen Republican incumbents were outraised by Democratic challengers in the third quarter of this year - a stunning figure. Nine GOP incumbents already trail a Democratic opponent in cash on hand, increasing the likelihood that many veteran incumbents will face tough opposition for the first time in years. […]

“That’s something that should get every Republican’s attention in Washington,” said Jason Roe, a Republican strategist who works on House races. “These first-timers are printing money.”

In a number of cases, the Republican is running behind all of the Democrats that have lined up to challenge them.

If the Conventional Wisdom didn’t see this coming, the Conventional Wisdom is really dumb. MSNBC struggled during Obama, because it had to defend the party in power. Now the RW media struggle because they have to defend not only the party in power, but a President worse than most people could have imagined.

[Embedded content]

Basically people are more drawn to the voice of resistance than to state media.

It’s not just that they are defending him, it is how they are defending him. Even the most stupid amongst us can’t believe half the stuff being said on the RW sites. It’s insane even by their standards. Ok, roughly 30% of their own people will buy into it, but most is too crazy even for those who buy it.

Also, anyone with a few brain cells to rub together have to wonder why Trump is awesome and Obama and Clinton are still in the news for virtually nothing. There has to be some smoke being set off in some brains. Even for those who don’t use their brains very often.

Back a few years ago the guy running the companies I worked for wanted us to have Facebook accounts for the businesses. At that time, there were a lot of people pushing Facebook for businesses.

So, if a business has a page, is it now being charged for that page, because a page would be an ad?

LGBT rights groups and Democratic senators have raised concerns over comments from Mateer, first published by CNN’s KFile, in which he described transgender children as evidence of “Satan’s plan,” lamented that states were banning conversion therapy, and argued that sanctioning same-sex marriage would lead to polygamy and bestiality.”

From Houston Chronicle:

“…Cornyn said Thursday that he is reevaluating Mateer’s nomination in light of the undisclosed speeches as well as other public utterances.

“I am evaluating that information, and I understand there may be even addition information other than that which has previously been disclosed,” he said in a conference call with Texas reporters.

Cornyn, formerly a Texas Supreme Court Justice, said there should be no “religious test” for judges. “But it is important,” he added, “that all of our judges be people who can administer equal justice under the law and can separate their personal views from their duties as a judge.”

He added: “Because the information had not been previously disclosed, we were not able to have that kind of conversation with Mr. Mateer, so we’ve got some work to do.”

Problem is though that 95% of men not being a monster is way too high percentage. I usually use this anecdote when talking about police corruption but I believe it fits with sexual harassment as well. 10% of us are the monsters that is always looking to take advantage and abuse any situation. Then there is the 10% of us that will do the right thing no matter what in all situations. The leftover 80% of us are the ones that can go either way depending on the circumstances.

Trump-Allied Pastor Carl Gallups Says Women Are Sexually Assaulting Men By Dressing Provocatively

Carl Gallups, a right-wing pastor and conspiracy theorist who spoke at Trump campaign rallies during the 2016 election, spent a portion of his radio program on Friday discussing the idea that women are “sexually assaulting” men by dressing in a provocative manner.

Gallups interviewed Mike Shoesmith, who recently wrote a piece in response to the Hollywood sexual assault scandals arguing that women who wear “sexually suggestive clothing around a man” are legally guilty of sexual assault. While Gallups and Shoesmith repeatedly made clear that they were not excusing or condoning sexual assault against women in any way, they were nevertheless outraged that women are allowed to torment men by “walking around in their little sister’s skirt.”

“Men are visually stimulated and unwanted stimulation should meet the basic definition of assault,” Shoesmith said, asserting that women who dress in a suggestive manner are “guilty of indecent visual assault on a man’s imagination, which does cause mental anguish and torment.”

So are nuns who are raped dressing provocatively? Women in very conservative dress such as Mennonites or some Muslims?
