Speaking of clowns:
KKK Grand Dragon gets outed as Florida college student — and classmates want him gone

Students at Jacksonville, Florida’s University of North Florida were shocked when they discovered their “normal”-looking classmate is a KKK “grand dragon.”

In interviews with The Tab, UNF students describe their interactions with Ken Parker, a well-known racist profiled multiple times for his hateful ideology.

Monique, a social studies education student who shares a Civil War and Reconstruction History class with the bigoted political science major said “you would never know he was the Grand Dragon of the KKK.”

“Honestly, he seems like a regular white guy. He’s very quiet,” Monique said. “You would never think he would advocate for the genocide of black people.”

See—that’s creeping class discrimination. I can remember when a white guy didn’t need a degree to be Grand Poobah. Soon Asian doctoral candidates will be flooding the field.

It’s so painfully depressing, yet so painfully predictable how everyone seems to fall for the same exact GOP jiu-jitsu bullshit and buries Dems for shit they’ve left pass from the GOP, and give all the oxygen in the room to bullshit scandals like this.

It never ends. It never will end it seems like. And now it’s likely we’ll have genuine dumb show trials for Hillary while Trump benefits from actual collusion and destroys the entire fucking goddamn foundation of this country.

I’m so fucking tired. I’m so fucking tired of being so fucking tired. And yet I’m so fucking tired of seeing anything that could or should be done about it summarily ignored because narrative is god, and the media decides what will be for goddamn ever.

President claims victory, resumes refugee resettlement in USA. (Long convoluted explanation on how this constitutes a victory.)

(c) The suspension of the USRAP and other processes specified in section 6(a) of Executive Order 13780 are no longer in effect. Subject to the conditions set forth in section 3 of this order, the Secretary of State may resume travel of qualified and appropriately vetted refugees into the United States, and the Secretary of Homeland Security may resume adjudicating applications for refugee resettlement.

Sec. 3. Addressing the Risks Presented by Certain Categories of Refugees. (a) Based on the considerations outlined above, including the special measures referred to in subsection (a) of section 2 of this order, Presidential action to suspend the entry of refugees under the USRAP is not needed at this time to protect the security and interests of the United States and its people. The Secretary of State and the Secretary of Homeland Security, however, shall continue to assess and address any risks posed by particular refugees as follows:

(goes on to explain what the SOS and DHS are supposed to do in their review processes)

re: #23 Citizen K

Sigh… (cut)

There’s no way to win this, is there?

Actually yes.

Unless you are a politician, you do not need to focus on all things that are going on at the same time (other than to stay apprised of them). Liberals can multi-task.

Find the number of things you can work on that you feel competent handling. One, two, however many.

If your most important issue is preserving or expanding women’s rights, work on that issue. If your issue is worker rights, then work on that.

You get the idea: Rather than focus all your energy on every topic, focus it on the one or two things you are most passionate about and are good at. Other people will take up other topics (such as immigration).

Note above where I linked to the Presidential Executive Order. Although it is a lot of convoluted language, the White House gave in: Refugee resettlement will resume. The previous orders are cancelled by this. It is a victory (for refugees and those who care about them).

Trump can try to spin that all he wants, but the bottom line is “he lost.”

The same goes for the GOP: They have not advanced a single bit of legislation they consider important since the election nearly a year ago. They are incapable of governing, many are afraid to show up at their own town halls, in local and state elections across the nation Republicans are being thrown out and replaced with Democrats.

Emily’s List has recruited ten thousand women to run as Democrats for offices from school board to US Senate in the next election cycle. Not all of them will win, but a whole bunch will.

The GOP just stood up such a group to recruit conservative women today. (The board unsurprisingly is comprised solely of men.)

Don’t get depressed about this or that issue you are not working on. Others are.

57
Backwoods_Sleuth  Oct 26, 2017 • 7:08:45pm

But one thing is true: These days there’s a lot of cross-border investment. In particular, as Steven M. Rosenthal of the Tax Policy Center notes — in a paper I found revelatory — around 35 percent of U.S. equities are now owned by foreigners, triple the level during the Reagan years.

What this means is that around 35 percent of a tax cut from an administration that proudly uses the slogan “America first” — $700 billion over the next decade — wouldn’t even go to Americans. Instead, it would be a windfall to wealthy foreigners, who would probably gain a lot more from the tax cut than U.S. workers. Oh, and it makes all that talk about allies not paying their “fair share” sound kind of silly, doesn’t it?

America has had its ups and downs. I hope that electing a madman President has been a wakeup call.

Unfortunately, it’s mainly been a wakeup call for lunatics who love what Trump is doing. They’re wide awake, and they’re making their plans.

And we’ve got at least two new lunatic Senators to look forward to; three if McCain resigns or dies.

This is the bottom line, despite Trump’s well reviewed speech today.

Today was nothing but high minded garbage about how easy it is for people not to start taking drugs. Anything substantive being done about opioids (like pharmacies only giving out 7 day supplies) is DESPITE Trump.

When drug addiction mainly hit ghettos and barrios, Republicans didn’t care. But now when it affects more and more of their racist white base they say we got a problem?

They sure didn’t react that way when Gary Webb exposed Contra Cocaine flowing into South Central LA…

Or with Communists after Fidel Castro’s death.

They always LOVE to bring up how Che Guevara hated “the gays”…while ignoring the fact that gay rights in the 60s was a distant after-thought with the “anti-Communist” regimes.

I have about 100 other things to watch, and VR games don’t play themselves, so it’s easy to walk away.

I hated the way BSG ended too, but other people liked it. I recall that someone else here is a big fan.

I wouldn’t say I was a big fan of how BSG ended, but I understood why it ended the way it did - to me, it was a nod to the opening narration of the original series.

“There are those who believe that life here began out there, far across the universe with tribes of humans, who may have been the forefathers of the Egyptians, or the Toltecs, or the Mayans. Some believe there may yet be brothers of man, who even now fight to survive - somewhere beyond the heavens.”
