Roger Stone and Holocaust Denier Chuck C. Johnson: Peas in a Putrid Pod

Stone threatens to sue Twitter
Weird • Views: 51,321

Long time Donald Trump crony Roger Stone was permanently banned from Twitter yesterday after a series of ugly, threatening and racist tweets directed at CNN hosts.

When I heard the news, I noted that even though Stone loves to bash Holocaust denier Chuck C. Johnson, in reality they could be clones of each other:

Now both Roger and Chuck are permanently suspended from Twitter. And I also noted that right wing hate spewers always freak out when they lose their Twitter accounts because they realize how important the social network is to their nasty agenda:

Well, today we see another way in which Roger Stone and Chuck C. Johnson (who is NOT ME) are peas in a putrid pod: like Chuck, Stone is now threatening to sue Twitter.

Longtime Trump associate Roger Stone Jr. said he will sue Twitter in response to the company banning him from the platform.

“I have retained one of the best telecommunications lawyers in the country and will be bringing a legal action against Twitter over the suspension of my account,” he told TheWrap. “The battle for free speech has just begun.”

Anyone want to bet this “lawsuit” never materializes?

OT here, but that windstorm that roared through the Czech Republic did some damage. Quite a bit, actually.

Train service between Prague and eastern parts of the country is cut off. At least 300,000 households are without power. And you can see from video and photos on this page that the Czech Republic took something of a hit. ceskatelevize.cz

Highest recorded winds were in Sněžka, in the north of the country, which is up in the mountains - gust of 180 km/h.

Anyway, back to your regular program. :)

Wow. I was whining about just under 120 kph winds tearing the roof off my temporary garage a couple of weeks ago. That’s nothing compared to 180 kph.

You can see from this photo of Prague Main Train Station that part of the roof got torn off.

Pretty serious. One of my friends here, she just her power restored about 20 minutes ago. Another friend of mine is at her parents, up in the mountains…..I asked her how things were and she said she was afraid to go outside for fear she’d get blown away.

Tides are more or less uniform, they play fair…all boats go up or down the same amount no matter how big they are

The economy is an unfair tide lifting some boats more and some less based on their size and other influences

This doesn’t even get into that fact that other boats (or the tide Masters) are actively and aggressively trying to sink yours

That German TV series I posted about, Babylon Berlin…..it looks like Netflix has picked it up. Article doesn’t say when they’ll start streaming it though.

Netflix had already secured “Babylon Berlin” for the U.S. and Australia and New Zealand. Sky has it in Germany, Italy, and the U.K. Beta Film said it has sold the show into 60 territories.

The series is a landmark in German-language drama in terms of its $47 million budget and its ambition. The first episodes will premiere in Cannes, at Mipcom, next week. Two eight-part seasons have been greenlit.

So NYT finally acknowledges the Mueller indictments…almost 2 days later and in an article that appears on their website’s main page on the journalistic equivalent of below the fold. Their frontpage article? A question about whether New York is prepared for another Hurricane Sandy, while the Trump article appears below one about the planned cuts to 401Ks appearing in the GOP “tax reform” bill.

Particularly galling is that a year ago this weekend, they dedicated the front page to Comey’s October Surprise letter to Congress.

I get the Sandy coverage. It’s pretty important especially in the NYC metro area. Lots done, but a lot more that needs to be done.

But there are ways to keep a story above the fold with headlines, column inches, and prioritizing. The Times is giving cover to Trump - on purpose or incidentally - and he is deserving of neither.

Same way that 40 days out from Maria and the Times can’t be bothered to report above the fold about the massive failures of the admin to restore basic services to Puerto Rico.

It’s the same kind of depraved indifference Trump shows.

I get that it’s big local news to New Yorkers about prep for another Sandy, but that’s something that should at best be below the fold and more likely buried in the local section of paper. That it takes up front center of the paper while the Trump article is relegated to the sideline and nothing written about PR on the front page at all despite growing revelations about Whitefish smacks of a paper that is invested heavily in the future of a Trump admin.

Who the fuck is writing this and why the fuck is anyone listening to Christie? Because Trump’s entire campaign is under investigation, which means he’s under investigation.

There are Congressional investigations. The FBI. Mueller. And there’s intel community evidence gathering.

Mueller’s looking at everything everyone did during the campaign and looking at obstruction of justice and all the rest. Trump included.

re: #82 BlueGrl21

I’m married to a die-hard Dodgers fan. My 12 year-old is just as bad. He has a (very creepy) Clayton Kershaw Fathead in his room. Dodgers stuff everywhere. It’s their father-son thing, just like it was for my husband and his father. They may be ready to throttle each other, but all stops for baseball.

My father-in-law died at almost exactly this time last year. I woke up this morning and thought, “They’re going to the World Series tonight. That man’s shade will haunt me for 40 years if I don’t make them go.” I told my protesting husband, “This is not optional. He left you a little money for EXACTLY times like this. No debate.”

Get on Stub Hub. Someone was selling their seats for less than the other seats are going for, by a lot. Got them. My husband and son are going. I have genuinely never seen them so excited about ANYTHING.

Life is short. I adored my father-in-law. This game is on him.

This rocks!

The talking heads at Fox are panicking, but doing so in the fashion we’ve become accustomed to: They’re doubling down on the idea that the “real” scandal involves the Clintons and the “evidence” is so concrete that there’s no way they can get away this time. So their viewers might actually believe that the indictments they’re hearing in the news are aimed at the Clintons, considering how soon they came after the GOP valiantly started their “investigations.”

The wingnut talking points are pretty clear: Mueller’s investigation is based upon lies and so he must resign, the lies were fabricated by Hillary (with help from the Russians) and thus prove her guilt, and any “serious” investigation will involve indictments for her and any connected to her (including Obama, Lynch, Jarrett, etc). That if the wingnuts wake up tomorrow to Flynn, Manafort, Kushner, or even Donny himself in cuffs, then “the fix is in” and the Democrats are engaging in a coup.

Tomorrow’s gonna be a blast because the wingnuts have absolutely no clue who it is they’re gonna have to defend. And they will have to defend, because the list of possible perps to be walked are too closely connected to the Trump campaign to spin as “part-time help.” Which is why I said Friday night that the big question is the list of charges, because if it’s Manafort but for financial shit connected to his days before he joined the campaign, they could try to spin that it has no bearing on Trump’s actions.

As you know the charges are just the leverage.
Even if they only relate to events “before the campaign”

I don’t think it will. America doesn’t have the history that allows totally-corrupt leaders to stay in office like they do in other countries, and she had to be betting that we’d allow it.

We’d never put up with an American Putin for long, and Trump is not nearly as capable as Putin.

It is easier to get a totally corrupt leader into power that it is to get one out of power, and that is the problem…

From a legal perspective, going after the “small fry” for sure-kill charges makes perfect sense because if gives you leverage to make a deal for a “bigger fish.” But that’s when you have the full support of your superiors, which it is clear Mueller does not and has not had since he was appointed. He has to deal with the reality that Trump may very well throw caution to the wind and pardon his buddies in the hopes they’ll clam up and stop the investigations in their tracks. So my hope is that the reports of multiple indictments are true and the charges include state-level charges, which would make it impossible for Trump to pardon them in toto.

The tell:

As fishy as it looked that a tiny company in the Montana hometown of the U.S. interior secretary landed such a big contract, Zinke insisted he had nothing to do with it.

Tiefer, for one, said that though all the facts aren’t out yet, it’s clear something “went very wrong” with the way the contract was awarded.

“Let’s put it this way,” he said. “Whitefish didn’t make the shortlist because of a world-class reputation.”

**shrugs**. The problem with these talking points is that the vast majority of Americans don’t like trust. Hence, his historically low approval ratings. No one except Trump’s shrinking White bigot base are going to believe any of those ridiculous talking points especially as Mueller’s indictments begin to add up and his investigation findings are released.
