Russian Lawyer Confirms: Trump Jr. Lied, He DID Seek Damaging Info on Hillary Clinton

Politics • Views: 34,633

Here’s the proof that what we’ve suspected for months was actually true: Donald Trump Jr. has been lying about the reason for his 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer tied to the Kremlin. He was trying to get damaging information on Hillary Clinton to benefit his horrible father’s campaign: Donald Trump Jr. asked Russian lawyer for info on Clinton Foundation.

Donald Trump Jr. asked a Russian lawyer at the June 2016 Trump Tower meeting whether she had evidence of illegal donations to the Clinton Foundation, the lawyer told the Senate Judiciary Committee in answers to written questions obtained exclusively by NBC News.

The lawyer, Natalia Veselnitskaya, told the committee that she didn’t have any such evidence, and that she believes Trump misunderstood the nature of the meeting after receiving emails from a music promoter promising incriminating information on Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump’s Democratic opponent.

Once it became apparent that she did not have meaningful information about Clinton, Trump seemed to lose interest, Veselnitskaya said, and the meeting petered out.

Lol now according to the “common sense conservative”, Flynn is a Democrat which is technically true, Obama administration official again technically true but he was fired by Obama and Obama specifically warned against hiring him. Oh conservatives, you’d make Stalin proud with your revisionism.

What Flynn is above all else is a self-promoter. He has no enduring political affiliation and is more than willing to do anything and align himself with anyone who can put money into his bank accounts.

I doubt it. This is still building as we have seen today. I’m thinking Mueller goes on into late spring early summer before he puts out his findings. I think today’s news about the banking subpoena shows it is getting higher up now and is shifting to looking into Trump. I think everything prior is work to get to this level.

I do think though, 2018 will bring a different way that America views Trump overall. I think the majority of America grows suspicious and that will cause the Republican party to be forced to leave him hanging on his own as they scramble to save their own butts in the fall elections.

Christmas can be a lonely time, but a Melbourne thief has decided to take his happiness into his own hands and steal a ridiculously expensive sex doll from a Moorabbin sex shop.

The police are currently looking for a man who cut through a wire fence with bolt-cutters, and then used a fire-hydrant to break into the Sexyland outlet, before fleeing in his white van (the default mode of transport for the dodgiest crimes).

The store made it clear that this wasn’t simply a crime of opportunity, or a smash and grab. It was in fact a planned erotic-mannequin heist. Once inside, the man stole the sex doll named “Dorothy”, which is worth a whopping $4,495. It is unknown whether he took anything else, but considering Dorothy is life-sized at 168 centimetres, his hands were probably full.

Worth reading the rest of the article for delicious snark.

It’s standard policy in my line of work. First of all, most computer companies pay a salary. Then they start setting a “corporate culture” (which is a whole other ball of wax) that implies that good little worker drones put in 48-hour work weeks despite being paid for 40. My cousin was one of Ben Sasse’s best friends in college. (My cousin is also a wealthy right-wing Christian who knows how to talk.) Summer of 2016 at family reunion we got to talking politics and I was giving him my opinion of the Trump movement and problems with the hard right. He assured me that not all Republicans were dumb ideologues: witness the Best Man at his wedding, Ben Sasse. So I asked about Ben. Ben turns out to be pretty extreme actually. But my Harvard-educated cousin from suburban Chicago explained that it was beliefs based on the inherent strength of America; that states have the right to make their laws; and that if you didn’t want to live under the laws of Kansas you could move to California. I went to get a beer. No point in remaining thirsty in that intellectual desert.

Except these are the people pushing the “concealed-carry reciprocity act” in Congress… so if Kansas lets you carry a gun, you can take it California and Cali can’t do anything about it.

They only believe in “states’ rights” for states that are more right-wing than the federal gov’t — they vehemently oppose states’ rights when any state wants a policy that’s more liberal than federal requirements.

oh….

MOORE, Okla. - Days after a former state senator pleaded guilty to federal child sex trafficking, Moore police released body cam footage of the call that led the then-seated senator to be charged with state child prostitution charges.

Ralph Shortey, 35, pleaded guilty to child sex trafficking in federal court last week; in exchange, child pornography charges were dropped.

Shortey, a former Republican state senator from Oklahoma City, was charged in federal court in September after a months-long investigation that started in March 2017 when he was found in a Moore hotel room with a 17-year-old boy.

Police were called to the Super 8 Motel, located at 1520 I-35, in the early morning hours of March 9 for a welfare check. Moore police released body cam video Monday from multiple officers who responded to the call.

so, so, much more “family values” at the link…

I didn’t think about that, but I talked about how wrong it would be for a gay couple to have to move simply because one state wouldn’t recognize their marriage (yes, he thought that issue should be left to the states). And until we have universal insurance, it’s unfair that someone would have to move and then find they couldn’t get the same coverage elsewhere.

Ben Sasse thinks that you just need to work hard, be honest, pay your dues, and [be white] everything will work out for you.

“Dogs, lives are short, too short, but you know that going in. You know the pain is coming, you’re going to lose a dog, and there’s going to be great anguish, so you live fully in the moment with her, never fail to share her joy or delight in her innocence, because you can’t support the illusion that a dog can be your lifelong companion. There’s such beauty in the hard honesty of that, in accepting and giving love while always aware that it comes with an unbearable price. Maybe loving dogs is a way we do penance for all the other illusions we allow ourselves and the mistakes we make because of those illusions.”

ICE’s Reign of Terror Is Sending Employee Morale Through the Roof

The Department of Homeland Security released its year-end “immigration enforcement” report on Tuesday, detailing the number of undocumented immigrants it’s arrested, detained, and deported throughout 2017.

The key takeaways? Border apprehensions are down, deportations are up, and the people responsible for arresting undocumented immigrants absolutely love their jobs.

[…]

As the department notes, the number of border apprehensions is significantly down compared to years past—presumably due to fewer undocumented immigrants attempting to enter the United States during the first year of the Trump administration:

But while border arrests may be on the decline, the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency’s Enforcement and Removal Operations team—the agents who actually track down undocumented people, detain them, and ultimately deport them—have been keeping extremely busy (emphasis mine throughout):

[…]

But perhaps the most telling part of the report is this:

In addition to these improved numbers, the Federal Employee Viewpoint Survey (FEVS) results for CBP and ICE personnel significantly improved this year, reflecting that the Administration is allowing them to faithfully execute their duties and fully enforce the law.

ICE is a department run amuck with xenophobic glee.

It is, unfortunately, a rule of nature that you can always find people to carry out such acts. How to detect and squelch potential leaders is always the problem.

(By the way, has anyone else noticed that Mitch looks a lot like Gollum? Artists’ representation, not the movies — I never liked the big blue eyes anyway. Maybe it’s because I quite like turtles, but I prefer to imagine Mitch saying, “We likes it precious, yes we does,” when a monster is confirmed for another post, or something abominable works its way through Congress.)

I have to tell people frequently that there is no such thing as partial birth abortions. At that stage they are called deliveries, either by a C/S or a vaginal delivery.

We often induce a little early. These inductions always have a medical indication. Our hospital reviews all inductions before 39 weeks to make sure there is a legitimate medical indication. This is very strongly recommended by the American College of Ob/Gyn. I could lose my hospital privileges if I started delivering early just because someone doesn’t want to be pregnant anymore.

I don’t believe in god, but I do believe there’s a heaven—for dogs.

I don’t believe in any gods, or any afterlife, but man-o-man, do I want to believe in the Rainbow Bridge!

My son had to read Walden and a bit about Thoreau. He read some of it out loud to us. Between the book and what I’ve heard of Thoreau’s history, he would never be accused of being nice.

Lagniappe:

If you’re familiar with the US evangelical world, their version of “you made me do that” excuses all sexual abuses.

As long as you beat your chest and say you were “tempted” you can get away with anything. Just blame the filthy un-saved world and the young person you groomed.

So, in reading the book of Genesis, their takeaway was to whine like Adam.

It’s just another lie like so many other lies they tell with impunity

Edited for typo

Some dork on Facebook came at me on a friend’s thread, claiming that the Deutsche Bank subpoena was fake news. If he’d been civil I would have scrolled by, but he was a dick about it.

So I said that TV Lawyer Sekulow had no idea what he was talking about, and that he probably wouldn’t even know about the subpoena due to the Grand Jury Exception mentioned on the last thread.

He replied, ‘The bank denied it. Are they lying, too?’ So…

I did a search for ‘Deutsche Bank denies subpoena’ (yeah, Bing, sue me) and pointed out that TV Lawyer was the guy doing all the denying.

Then I did a search for ‘Deutsche Bank subpoena’ and noted that pretty much every news organization on the planet (including that liberal fake news outfit Breitbart) is reporting that the subpoena was indeed served, and asked him again to post a link to the bank denying the story.

That was over an hour ago. Think he bailed? Heh.

Rachel Maddow was saying Deutsche Bank had been holding out to get the subpoena as a request from Congress was not enough for them to get past their worries about giving out private client information easily.

And she further added that Deutsche bank insiders say they were happy to get it so they can get past all of this.

Hmmm. I wonder if Deutsche Bank is looking to dump a problematic account?

Oh, they’d still handle his money all day long in other circumstances.

But they’re under DoJ investigation already, and I’m sure the negative PR is getting them a little worried.

Deepest condolences to you and yours. Losing a family companion is like losing a child, in my mind. You wake up, you look around, they aren’t there, and it’s just like *thud*. Heart rending. It just about kills you, every time.
