Pure Right Wing Cynicism: Breitbart’s Editor-in-Chief Admits They Defended Roy Moore From Child Molestation Accusations to Protect Trump From Sexual Assault Accusations

Politics • Views: 47,065

Here’s as clear a picture of the debased power-hungry cynicism that drives today’s right wing as you will ever see, as Breitbart “News” editor-in-chief Alex Marlow says they went all in to defend Roy Moore and smear his accusers because they believed if they didn’t, Trump would also be vulnerable to sexual assault charges and they wouldn’t be able to use him to enact their regressive agenda.

It doesn’t seem very smart to openly admit something like this, but then this is Breitbart “News” we’re talking about.

Media Matters

ALEX MARLOW (HOST): In hindsight guys, look, it’s a — there was no option at Breitbart — and I will try to articulate this over and over. There was no option to throw Judge [Roy] Moore under the bus. If you set the standard that Roy Moore, who was accused of abusing five women, three of whom — or six women, three of whom were not actually accusing him of doing anything illegal, two of whom either had a massive conflict of interest or were entirely uncredible for putting out a forged yearbook, that left one accuser and it was a he said, she said. If you make that the standard, the left is going to use it to take out President Trump. There was never any reason to cave unless you have a — unless you would like President Trump to get removed from office, and if not even removed from office, at least have massive distractions from his agenda so that we never accomplish anything for the remainder of the president’s term. And much of the Republican Party wants that. Much of the Republican Party does not see that as a negative.

What difference does that make? Republicans have the votes to get anything they want through Congress. Democrats are unified and will vote against the tax bill. That won’t stop it from getting through if the majority of Republicans vote for it.

If Mueller is fired, I expect Democrats to kick up a fuss and stop being polite.

- pizza is always welcome (do not start)

further:
there can’t be too many onions or too much garlic

As if any of this is fucking new to the Millennials? I’ve been living this way since I can remember. X’ers have been getting screwed by Boomer greed for 30+ years now… /////

It’s not a bad article & some of the points it makes are very important but it’s even more critical not to imagine that this is somehow only a case of Millennials good Boomers bad. Rather every generation as it comes to power tries to shape the world to their benefit. Right now we have the post-WWII population bubble to wait out and then, I think, things will settle back towards older patterns again.

Lawsuits.

Beautiful, shining lawsuits. From states, organizations like the ACLU, sanctuary cities, lovely lawsuits. So very many of them.

So now, everything that passes, I wait for the inevitable, “We just filed a lawsuit” tweet. And it’s all very peaceful.

The tax bill tries to kill the individual mandate. LAWSUITS! Let’s tie this shit up in court! Then let’s win in 2018!

Yeah, anyone in the workforce in the last 40 years has been getting screwed, but the lost generation the article talks about have it even worse. Their lifetime earnings have been significantly reduced, and some never find decent work, after having been told they have to go to college and wind up in debt.

Any time you have a lost generation, it’s a recipe for disaster. Add 4chan, some terrible sub-Reddits, and gamer chat to the mix, and you’re going to get a lot of radicalization.
My own life fell apart in the downturn that hit these kids, and I’ve been in an apartment ever since, but I had a good salary history to help convince employers to pay me well, and they don’t.

If there is a purge, it will be this weekend, or first thing on Monday.

Would it surprise anyone that Mr. Showman President with his very weak history knowledge might think it would be cool to do this thing he heard about back when he was fighting The Great Club PickUp Wars?

Paid extra for the CATz upgrade (highly recommend) and the Vision for Life plan (free enhancements beyond the first year if I need them). Some halos but they’re already diminishing. No complications except they had a hard time getting suction on the device that does the flap incision so it took multiple attempts and my eyes are pretty bloodshot today, especially the right one. I went for distance in both eyes so need readers now for up close but knew that going in, and was on the verge of needing transition lenses glasses before. Beside, readers are sexy.

I think it’s the fact that I am far sighted that keeps me from getting too excited. My glasses are, effectively, prescription “readers” and I’ve had the same pair for over a decade now (at 54, that’s no small thing). We’re things different, I’d probably look more into it. I am quite glad to hear how well things are going for you since I have a good friend who’s eye surgery last summer was nearly catastrophic and her vision is only slowly recovering.

I got in on a trial for CATz for PRK (where they remove the top layer of the cornea instead of cutting a flap) about 10 years ago. If you can handle the longer recovery (about 3-4 days longer than Lasik) time, it is considered a better option for severe near/farsighted patients because there is no ‘halo’ effect post-surgery and no possibility of a torn cornea flap. I think I am due for an adjustment since my night vision has started to degrade a bit in the last year or so.

And let me be very clear on this…I don’t quit, I don’t despair, I don’t give in, I find another way, and if that doesn’t bear fruit i’ll find another. I have been through MUCH, MUCH worse in my life than the Trump Administration. One day he’ll be gone and I will still be right here.

I have a sub too (actually a lifetime sub),and I would never cancel because they have that asshole on a station I never listen to. I am a heavy listener to progress ch. 127. They have a lot of good hosts there.

The way I look at it is, is if people start canceling it could hurt the voices of dems and progressives that have shows on sirius. Plus people have a chance to actually talk to that asshole directly and call him on his ugly views.
The best part of listening to ch 127 is when rwnj’s come on and try and act like they are smarter than the host, and they get their ass handed to them. It happens all the time.
