Donald Trump: “I’m Like, Really Smart. In Fact, I’m a Very Stable Genius at That!”

Politics • Views: 32,390

The release of Michael Wolff’s revelatory book about the chaos and incompetence of his administration has sent our so-called president into a narcissistic tail spin. He’s decompensating before our eyes.

Notice that even though Twitter now makes it very simple to string a series of tweets together in a thread, this very stable genius still hasn’t figured out how to do it.

This isn’t the first time Trump ran for office. He did it before, twice. (In other words, he lied. Quelle surprise.)

And for the FB-embed-challenged:

Hey Donald “Genius” Trump — On October 28th you sent out one of your crazed tweets where you gave ME the nickname “Sloppy Michael Moore”. Haven’t the doctors told you that using the same nickname for TWO people is another sign of dementia? You must know you’re not right in the head when you first give me my own nickname, then you forget, then you give Steve Bannon the same one. Does Bannon realize he’s the sloppy seconds? My legal team is sending you a CEASE & DESIST notice to for you to STOP calling Steve Bannon by my nickname. I am the original “Sloppy Mike”. Come up with something else for Bannon, like “Supremacist Steve.” It is illegal to re-gift a nickname.

Nancy LeTourneau (Washington Monthly) on DT using the Justice Department to go after Clintons.

To the extent that the media gives this investigation any credibility, it will simply be repeating the horrific mistakes they made on coverage of the Clintons during the election. Even worse, they will be reinforcing the acceptability of a POTUS corrupting federal law enforcement by using it to go after his political opponents. As shocking as it is to have a president who would do that, it would be even worse to have a media that condones it.

We’ll skip the commandments the owner is breaking (coveting, keeping the sabbath holy), or the admonition in the New Testament not to pray in public like the hypocrites.

Monument Mall in Scottsbluff suffered years of decline and poor rental numbers. A couple years ago it was purchased by a fellow who identifies troubled malls in potentially good markets and rehabilitates them.

The mall is now open again after millions of dollars of upgrades. Every store in the mall has been rented for over a year, and they have a waiting list for rentals.

They don’t have a Ten Commandments monument in Monument Mall though.

Since this guy bought it, the mall has been in the black.

The mall model isn’t necessarily bad; what’s bad is building malls in saturated markets.

Well, the monument is on private property, so that’s an improvement on religious people trying to mark every bit of public property in the nation.

After my state legislature decided to allow religious scenes over Christmas a couple yars ago, someone applied for and got a permit for a Festivus pole made out of beer cans, along with displays of the constitutions of the US and Nebraska on religious freedoms.

No more displays in the statehouse since then… .

Having access gives you two things:

a) the ability to be a propagandist
b) the ability to reveal the truth

Folks like Maggie Haberman cultivating access for its own sake to enrich herself regardless of the truth of the information she is reporting, I find to fit as (a).

I don’t care if we have the most scrupulous President in the history of presidents, I want truth, not stenography. Maggie is Judith Miller II.

Nah the Red Staters decided you guys were a bunch of elitists and the guy who sued over description of his wealth was an everyman.

Hey, I’m a red stater. I don’t care if the man was a Republican or Democrat, I am not going to vote for someone who had zero experience in government.

Same would go for Dr. Jill Stein even if she wans’t wrapped up in this Russia disaster and whose platform mirrored everything I think would be a good position.

I didn’t know much about Donald Trump other than he ran as a gadfly candidate twice before. I had no knowledge of his television show or his real estate issues or his casino issues.

As someone who likes to follow political issues, I can give a (minor) pass to my whole town (since almost everyone in my township voted for him).

I was obviously talking about those who voted for him in big numbers not yourself. Honestly, I can’t give people a pass on him. They disregarded or even thought his lack of experience was a good thing even though these are the same people who belittle Obama as a mere community organizer ignoring that he taught at the University of Chicago and was first a state senator and then US Senator. His attacks on people like Judge Curiel for their ethnicity and his repeated lies. I don’t wish ill on them but I don’t give anyone a pass at all who voted for this imbecile.

Why is the GOP insisting on going down with him? They have Pence on deck if they push the 25th to get rid of the stable genius.

We can argue about whether we’d want that or not but it sure does make one consider the blackmail angle more closely.

My hunch? There’s dirt on them too and Trump knows where a lot of their bodies are hidden OR they know that Trump is much more popular than they are with their base so if they’re seen as bringing down Trump by their base, tehir base will hate them even more than they already do. Remember McConnell was very unpopular to Alabama voters of both parties in the Jones-Moore special election. Now I for one don’t get the total hate of the GOP leadership by the GOP base since the GOP leadership enables their hatred time and time again but I can see it too since they are sleazy. What I can’t see is why they see McConnell/Ryan as the enemy but Trump as having their interests out.

I’m thinking that a lot of Russian money made it into everybody’s campaign war chests over the past couple of years.

Either that, or all that kompromat was passed along to Trump so he’ll have a good amount of leverage over Congress. That actually seems more plausible, given how Lindsey Graham went from critic to lapdog, seemingly overnight.

Then again - why not both?

According to the Los Angeles Times, Ivanka Trump did not take part in the meeting but did have an exchange with a Russian attorney and a Russian-American lobbyist who did attend the meeting.

Now, Mueller’s team wants to know more about the first daughter’s communication with attorney Natalia Veselnitskaya and lobbyist Rinat Akhmetshin. The exchange reportedly took place as the two were leaving the Trump Tower meeting, which was also attended by Donald Trump Jr., Jared Kushner, and former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort.

In a couple weeks, an old friend who I haven’t seen in years is playing a show. I would love to see her again.
However….
an opening act is Flourescent Grey, aka Russia Today media personality Robbie Miller, and I might not be able to resist an physical altercation.

Thoughts?

I have a sentiment for Cleveland- Dad’s grandmother whom he never met was born there and I still have distant cousins there too. Plus the RCC archdiocese there was very helpful in getting me Great Nana’s baptism record and her parents marriage record and the same priest very kind in telling me about the city’s history. OA, do you know The Flats? That’s where my Nana’s grandparents lived in the 1870’s. Irish neighborhood.

There is nothing I can say because if I say they were the youngest team in football and looked good in most games, especially defense and they have money and draft choices for a new GM it falls short because 0-16.

So, there is next year.

Outside that. Thankx Happy. I know you’re a dirty rotten Steeler fan, but yer okay!

They have heart. They gave us scares in both games. You’ve got a good D. Just need to build up on offense which is easier said than done.

Yeah, he was basically a Wordpress guy.

I keep going back to a quote in a fluff piece about him, where he said this:

Parscale feels that too many people in San Antonio can’t accept the firm’s work on behalf of a client they oppose politically. They fail to see the economic benefit of that work to the local economy, Parscale said.

“We spent nearly $100 million in the course of the campaign with our operation based in San Antonio, and a ton of that money was spent in San Antonio on campaign-related employment, thousands of hotel rooms, all kinds of economic activity,” Parscale said. “Many of the employees that worked on the campaign have spun off their own enterprises, using the campaign as a catalyst to better success.”

Why would he have to be renting ‘thousands of hotel rooms?’ Who was he bringing into San Antonio?

I was on the Snowbird tram some years ago and they had to stop it in the middle of towers 3 and 4, right above “The Cirque,” hundreds of feet in the air, due to high winds. We sat there for about five minutes, which was an eternity if you were standing there in the tram car, waiting for the wind to die down. Eventually we slowly made our way to the top station, and when we got there it took another few minutes to slowly guide the tram car into the unloading station as the damn car kept banging into the guide rails (the wind was blowing at 45 m.p.h. with gusts over 65 m.p.h.) They closed the tram for the rest of the day after that.

That day was the first time I ever skied at Snowbird.

Some places are overlooking that. If the visit was in 1980 w/o evidence of m.c., 27. Years later there is very low chance of exposure to the prion in the brain.

Trump’s been raving nonstop on Twitter all week, but he suddenly went silent about 14 hours ago. An embarrassed aide must have hidden his iPhone again. Probably in a copy of the US Constitution. He’ll never find it there.

I lived in Spain from 1992-1995, and lived on the Spanish economy.

Thanks for the reminder DD! Frank Perry was an underrated director working there with a wonderful cast.

Meanwhile, here I am watching Big Jake, with commercials, again for the 10,000th time, hoping beyond hope it’ll be a version with 2x more scenes with Richard Boone. It never is.

re: #370 makeitstop

Yeah, he was basically a Wordpress guy.

I keep going back to a quote in a fluff piece about him, where he said this:

Why would he have to be renting ‘thousands of hotel rooms?’ Who was he bringing into San Antonio?

According to a 2016 Wired profile, he started out with a $500 investment after graduating from Trinity University, cold calling potential clients before graduating to building websites for organizations including the Trump Winery and Eric Trump Foundation.

He told the magazine Trump gave “a farm boy from Kansas” a chance. “When I was successful, he continued to reward me over and over again, because I worked hard and produced success,” he said.

During the presidential campaign, the Trump camp paid a whopping $91 million to the firm, which prior to 2016 had no experience in political campaigning.

And also, last July:

Lara Trump, the wife of Eric Trump, will serve as a senior political consultant for San Antonio-based company Giles-Parscale

Something has always seemed off about Parscale.
