Donald Trump Re-Election Campaign Releases Disgusting Video Accusing Democrats of Being “Complicit in Murder”

YouTube

In the era of the Trump Horror, we’re far beyond the “Willie Horton” dog whistle stage. The racist in the White House is now openly employing the most debased kind of incitement against his political opponents.

Today’s example is a new ad released by the Trump re-election campaign, complete with an ending that says “I’m Donald Trump and I approve this message” — accusing Democrats who oppose his insane border wall fantasy of being “complicit in every murder committed by illegal immigrants.”

Yes, that’s where we’re at in 2018. The president of the United States is accusing the Democratic Party of murder. I’m only posting this disgusting, vile video at LGF because we shouldn’t look away from what Trump is doing to the country.

But to make this even more insulting to our intelligence, one of Trump’s flunkies went on Chuck Todd’s sideshow today and tried to deny that the Trump White House has anything to do with this ad.

NBC’s Chuck Todd asked Marc Short, the Trump White House’s director of Legislative Affairs, if airing an ad like that was helpful in the effort to reach the compromise needed to reopen the government.

“Well, you know that ad was produced by an outside group…” Short started to respond, before Todd interjected, “‘Donald J. Trump for President’ is an outside group?” repeating it again in incredulity. The ad concludes with Trump saying “I’m Donald Trump and I approve this message” and a photo of Trump with two thumbs up.

“It’s done from a political organization, it’s not done by people working inside the White House,” Short said, before attempting to pivot into a general argument for solving “the problem of immigration coming in, and the threat it poses to our country.”

Notice how Mark Short slipped up and revealed the true agenda, by saying “the problem of immigration coming in.” When they drop the word “illegal” from descriptions like this, it’s not an accident.

The most disgusting part of this kind of rabble-rousing racist politics is that those who engage in it are willing to do severe damage to the people they scapegoat and civil society in general just so they can use the disturbance as a smokescreen for their looting the public treasury.

It’s not chaotic evil, it’s purposeful evil.

right - show me the line of unemployed (american) doctors who just cant find a job cause everything’s taken

unfortunately none of any of this is about ‘logic’

My sister-in-law is a physician as well, trained in Russia’s premier Polytechnic University. She worked for the government there before coming here.

Texas won’t give her a medical license despite having all her translated university records. After moping for some time with no job, she’s working at McDonalds.

I’ve had some time to think about this-

Even if immigrants really were stealing our jobs (as opposed to being exploited by our small and large business owners) I’d still rather have them here. The immigrants and refugees have a vested interest in making sure this goddamn country doesn’t fall apart; and I’ve seen too many white natives here who would rather live in their own filth than share with others.

All I can hope for the Polish physician being held in Michigan now is what has happened in a few very high-profile cases like this where ICE has gone wild.

In a few, extreme pressure on the government backed by protests has caused ICE to release people (without explanation).

I imagine the Calhoun County Sheriff isn’t real happy about this right now. I wonder if he has the authority to tell ICE to stick it, he’s not going to stay in his jail, or if he’s one of those “constitutional sheriff” wingnuts who think they are mini-warlords.

It was originally over that massive document dump she perpetrated, which included a video shot from a US Army helicopter of soldiers gunning down civilians on a street corner (including Reuters journalists).

The outrage came from that video (which you can find on YouTube as “collateral murder”) followed by the outrage from Reuters was what elevated Manning. The video shows a clear war crime.

Wikipedia details some of that on their article about Operation Wetback.

Amongst other things, hundreds of US citizens were deported. It was originally conceived as a joint USA-Mexico operation, but Mexico soured on it as it was apparent the conservatives of the day didn’t give a diddly damn about human rights (not to mention deporting non-Mexicans to Mexico).

One thing I hadn’t seen before on the disgusting “Complicit” ad was the “approval” notice at the end (unsurprisingly, most of the clips I saw as reference were - ummm, clipped ): it’s going to be harder for Trump and the WH to disclaim it - even if they want to. Which I doubt, since The Asshole-in-Chief has made crude anti-immigrant rhetoric part and parcel of his “campaign” appeals. I still think the campaign sprang this on the media without much pre-checking or coordination with the WH though. I know: it’s a bizarre notion to imagine that a US Presidential Administration might be organized along the lines of an anarchic buffoon circus…..

My mom used to do immigration law, represented a bunch of Soviet Jews who made it here back in the 70’s — to get licensed here, they had to take the same Boards as anybody just finishing their residency. Half of them could never manage enough English with a mild enough accent to ever qualify.

Some of them worked as assistants in hospitals and doctors offices, some had illegal clinics patching up gangsters who didn’t want to go to a hospital that would have to report their gunshot wounds.

re: #77 Anymouse 🌹

I don’t know what the deal is with my sister-in-law. My wife’s brother says they won’t let her sit for the examinations.

She’s looking into the VA system to see if she can get in there, since the VA doesn’t require state licensure (but does require proof you are a physician).

The rules are basically that in order to get a state license, you must have done at least some training in the US system. This is more than sitting the exams, which she should be able to do (sounds like some difficulty with translation or recognition of the documents); it requires generally 1-2 years of training in medicine, if not repeating a residency.

Even then, getting a state license does not automatically qualify you to be able to move to another state. To do so would mean becoming board certified, which you can generally attempt after several years of holding a state license. This is unfortunate for those in such a situation, because then your hospital or employer can pay you and treat you pretty badly knowing that you are unable to move.

Your sister-in-law should first talk to the board in her field of specialty, which should be able to at least help with sitting the basic exams. After that, if she wants, she would have to find some means of getting into a training situation, whether that be in a fellowship program for 1-2 years (which can be easy or almost impossible depending on the specialty), or into a residency (which is a more sure pathway as it leads to board certification, but is much harder to get into and involves more drudgery).

Given the crises the VA Healthcare system is in, you would think they would jump at the chance t take anyone who can pass the boards but that the states won’t allow them to practice.

Well, the process does take time, and right now with the anti-immigrant hatred against Slavs by the maladministration is probably making it longer.

Plus, the GOP doesn’t like the VA anyway (socialised medicine) and want it to fail. Not filling positions is a good way to do that.

People were down on the Blues Brothers for making millions off of music played by people who were half forgotten, but they helped resurrect a lot of careers and introduced a new generation to some great music.

As hard as it is to believe today, in the late 70s, Franklin, Charles, and Brown (as well as a lot of other jazz, soul and R&B artists that were at their heights in the 50s and 60s and before, such as Calloway and Elmore James, that were either in or referenced in the movie) were in sort of low spots in their careers; as you said, The Blues Brothers did a lot to boost their careers and legacies.

Preach. And I felt that way before I knew Brady, Belichick, and Kraft were Trump asskissers.

I felt the game was over when the Jaguars couldn’t keep the Pats out of the end zone right before halftime.
Thought they had to hold Pats to a field goal at most on that drive..

And, yeah, fuck the Patriots

I’m late to the party, but I heard about the White House’s misleading automated phone message bullshit. Another reminder that if Obama ever dared to suggest something along the lines of blaming the GOP like that in an automated message, he would have been pilloried for weeks on end by the press and demanded to resign because he betrayed his oath to be super-extra bipartisan or something.

Open Partisanship only ever seems to be allowed when the GOP does it, same as it ever was…

No team has ever played a Superb Owl in their home stadium. The closest was the 49ers in Stanford Stadium back in the day.Vikings have a chance to do it tonight.

I really hope they do. It’s long passed time they win a Superbowl, and it would be pretty amazing if they did it in their home stadium. Also, they’ve been my NFC favorite since that dominating defense with Millar and Doleman in the late 80s. I’m still pulling for the Pats, but a loss would sting less if it came from the Vikings.

But we also can’t ignore her criminal record, and combined with acts like hanging out with alt-right racists points to a deep instability and pathological attention seeking disorder that just isn’t conducive to holding public office.

This cultivation of influence and followers through deliberately provocative acts is pretty common at both political extremes. Examples include Chuck C. Johnson, Milo Yiannopolous, Jim Hoft, Lucian Wintrich, Casandra Fairbanks, Cernovich, Nina Turner, The Young Turks, Glenwald, The Chapo Traphouse bros, Manning, Assange, Snowden … all basically professional shit heads existing on the fringes who cling to their niches in the public mindshare through constant notoriety, by doing and saying internally inconsistent bullshit masquerading as deeply held principle.

In every case, regardless of the professed motivation the end result is to attack and undermine the moderate left while maintaining or extending the far right, white nationalist agenda.

People were down on the Blues Brothers for making millions off of music played by people who were half forgotten, but they helped resurrect a lot of careers and introduced a new generation to some great music.

I think there are two important metrics for this kind of thing:
1. Did the original artists approve?
2. Did they get properly paid?
Blues Brothers, Beatles and Stones passed both tests; another popular British band of the leaden-beat variety, not so much.

OT: got my copy of Ron Chernow’s Grant from the library request system. Take aways after 100 pages: Chernow isn’t pulling punches with Grant’s devils, but there isn’t much to work with early on—he’s an alcoholic who knows himself to be an alcoholic, his life was an accident orchestrated by an overbearing father, circumstance, a shit-head slave-owning father-in-law, an escalating build up to war over slavery, and a personality that was both far too trusting but quick stand up to injustice. That sounds like a lot to work with, but the themes are repeated on every page. To be fair, that is human existence—for most of us our bios would be something like “he fought with Comcast over his bill to no avail.” The other theme is that while he looked like a homeless beggar on the streets of St. Louis after he was forced to resign from the Army, his wife Julia and a few others still predicted something great in his future. Unfortunately, as we all know, that was the rebellion supported and fought by his former West Point buddies from the South. Who knows what would have happened to Grant if the Civil War hadn’t erupted to pluck him from obscurity.

The claim doesn’t have to be true. It only has to act as a distraction so Fox viewers won’t begin to think about the shutdown and the failure they put in the WH. I suspect Watters and others on Fox who have been making the claim know it’s a lie, but they’re getting paid to lie and run interference for the ignorant behind “leader” in the WH. “True story: Mrs. Fish’s cat likes to raid boxes of chicken wings. When we used to game in the basement, she would take a box of Domino’s wings, eat them, close them up… then we would find her cat, half an hour later, with the box open and gnawing on the bones.”

True story: I took Penelope with me to the grocery store last week. I wasn’t in the store very long. She had found a way to go into the glove compartment and get her snacks out. When I returned to the car, she was sitting in the front passenger’s seat looking soooo innocent. I can’t leave any food near her because she’ll eat it and pretend she didn’t do it. I have yet to find the “ghost” that’s snatching and consuming food on the sly. She thinks she’s slick, but mama knows.

My dad accidentally took one of our cats to Chicago and back when my sister and I were growing up. She had a habit of climbing into the back of the truck; one time, when my sister was driving us to school, the same cat launched herself out of the bed after we pulled out of the driveway. On this occasion, she climbed into the toolbox that was mounted in the bed, and stayed there for a couple of days, until my dad got home and opened the toolbox and a feline rocket launched itself in his general direction.

You learned at least. I had a con without irony tell me Ann’s liberal detractors were the real hateful ones. She’s gotten worse. Back then she just attacked anyone who wasn’t like her. Now she’s Richard Spencer’s twin sister.

I have one of her books somewhere in the house. If I ever find it, I know what I’m starting our spring bonfire with.

I just remember even Jonah Goldberg took issue with Treason since he pointed out Truman’s anti communism but then he wrote liberal fascism.

It wasn’t Treason, it was one of the ones before. By the time Obama was in office, I was completely turned off from Coulter, Spencer, and the rest of the right-wing douchecanoes. It was a gift from my parents, but to be fair to them, I did ask them for it, before I knew better.

Not sure. She apparently was around in the 90’s but I first learned about her in the Bush years. I remember her attacking 9/11 widows who criticized Bush. She’s a terrible person no matter whether her gig is sincere or cynical bullshit performance art.

I know this much. You Lizards especially from conservative families and environments who outgrew it are better people then mr. I’m lucky. My parents and grandparents are and weee liberals so I was lucky to be predisposed in favor of liberalism. I still do remember when my Dad told me he admired that he felt I was liberal by conscience not just by birth.

I now own a copy of Wolff’s “Fire and Fury.” Can’t hardly wait to tomorrow when I’ll dive into it. I might need a little something to sip between pages…hmm, maybe brandy.

I’m currently on book 10 of 14 for the Wheel of Time series, should have everything reread by mid February, and then I’ll read Fire and Fury

Schumer not satisfied with offer of McConnell’s intention

Schumer knows that the minute the govt reopens McConnell will forget everything he said during the negotiations. trump will then start deporting dreamers en masse.

I think Cotton is a “true believer” brought up on hate who fully assimilated it.

Kinda hard to believe but Tom Cotton was raised by a pair of true blue Democrats.
