Right Wing Twitter Freaks Out as Twitter Cracks Down on Bots and They Lose Thousands of Fake Followers

Internet • Views: 43,777

Right wing Twitter is currently engaged in a hysterical freak-out, spewing conspiracy theories like crazy, because Twitter has apparently launched a crackdown on bot accounts — and it’s affecting a LOT of right wing Twitter users for some odd reason. cough

Gizmodo reports:

Twitter suspended thousands of accounts overnight and conservatives on the platform aren’t happy about it. Twitter has yet to make a public statement about the issue, but right-wing users believe that they’re being targeted in a mass purge of suspected Russian bot accounts.

Conservative Twitter has even started a hashtag called #TwitterLockOut to talk about the purge, with some claiming that real people (as opposed to bots) were locked out of their accounts. Gizmodo has so far been unable to confirm that any real people have had their accounts mistakenly suspended.

Donald Trump reportedly lost approximately a million followers overnight, and some of the other worst people on Twitter have lost thousands of followers as a result of this action, including neo-Nazi Richard Spencer (who would lose his account entirely if it were up to me):

And Trump lapdog Bill Mitchell:

It’s commies, I tell you! COMMIES!

For the record, I just checked my follower count, and I haven’t lost a single one. That, of course, proves that it has to be the work of COMMIES.

If these whiny snowflakes are so upset at Twitter, they should have the balls to boycott.

Twitter Gulag, then Twitter lockout…why don’t they just start their own conservative-friendly platform with built-in bot followers for everyone?

KGxvi  Feb 21, 2018 • 11:02:39am

I broke down and set up a twitter account a couple months back, mostly so I could better communicate with customer support for a mobile game I play. But reading about the bots on twitter reminds me a lot about the downfall of MySpace - in addition to the annoying ads, it became infested with what we used to call spam accounts.

Wingnuts are more upset about computer generated Russian bots getting booted off of Twitter than they are about 17 American teens getting gunned down in their own classroom.

Uncle Tom Clark is suddenly opposed to citizens criticizing the POTUS. The Trumptards really are clueless to their own hypocrisy.

David Clarke on Parkland shooting survivor: “My dad would have backhanded me” for “popping off to an authority figure”

DAVID CLARKE: There’s some things we can do, but like I said, we can do these things right away but there’s no will on the part of these school districts and these other soft targets to protect these kids. And then, of course, the left, the anti-gun movement, moves in, they exploit the issue, they’re exploiting these kids. As a 17-year-old kid that you were talking about the other day. First of all, he shouldn’t be popping off against the president of the United States.

PAGLIARULO: Right.

CLARKE: My dad would have backhanded me at 17 years old if he would have heard me popping off to an authority figure.

Why are some of us of the elders so scared of these kids going up against the NRA, Dana Loesch and CNN?

Some seem to be defeated for them and yet the kids motor on. They have the spirit let’s help them keep it and not tell them of all the losses of past attempts and current fears.

We need to back them and join in the noise they are making.

We often say we want to take the out the GOP and their lobbyists like the NRA. Well, let’s act like it. Let’s support these students and young people and instead of saying all the ways they will lose to the current power, how about we stay positive and see if we can push them to be the generation that does make the changes our generations did not.

What is there to lose in all of this? Will we be forced to go on like we have been for too long?

Waukesha School District students and faculty who participate in the National School Walkout during class time next month commemorating the Feb. 14 mass shooting at a Florida high school will be considered disruptive and could face disciplinary action, a district email sent Tuesday to parents said.

1 - im sure the kids, in general are deciding whether whatever their particular school district is gonna do to them will be worth it

2 - simple solution - dont disrupt the day. just dont go to school that day. that cant be called disruptive. something else, maybe

theyre gonna figure all this out - they probably already did

He was on Ari Melber’s show last night being a loud-mouth jerk. He seemed to be trying to do a balance between the good and the bad of Trump. …

That interview was quite interesting. I found it hard to tell where he draws his personal line, but clearly DJT as a person is way beyond it. This is one of the first indications I have seen that there might actually be a tipping point where Trump’s disgusting personal behavior (“he screws everyone”) eventually overcomes the “appeal” of his policies. As in, “We’ve got our tax cuts so let’s dump him.”

I also liked his “Manafort’s a nice guy, but yeah, they’re all lying.” That too might be a common thread. (There must be some way outta here, said the joker …)

Barton said his eleven-year-old son was hiding under a car during the shooting at the GOP Congressional Baseball Practice last year, yet his “A” rating from the NRA is more important than his son’s life.

Well, the Book of James (named after me, obviously), chapter two in the New Testament notes:

14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?

15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,

16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?

17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.

(KJV)

However, Martin Luther of the Protestant Reformation (or Revolt, depending on if you’re a Protestant or Catholic) called the Book of James “The Book of Straw.” Luther had little use for that book and its requirement for works as a companion to religious faith.

This has been standard RWNJ malarkey for decades: its “logic” is that Democrats are just so unpopular with “Real Americans” that the only way they can win elections is by cheating. Usually:
1) registering and voting large numbers of dead people/illegal aliens/other unqualifieds
2) bribing voters
3) stuffing ballot boxes
4) hacking voting machines
5) all or some combination of above

All total projection, of course: presumably Mitchell thinks that “paper ballots” are some answer to the (generally non-existent) problem. Obviously, like his Hero Trump, he believes the only “fair” election is one that the GOP/RWNJ wins, and that any other result is immediately suspect.

And that is how political protests work.

It shows the students are having success. There will be more people/organizations figuring out trying to stop them or bully them and put their efforts down will not be a good look and cost you.

The NRA will get the idea too if the students keep it up and get the support of lots of American citizens and media.

Which is exactly how the NRA got their power. And hopefully how they will lose it.

The claim is bullshit, but what it really is is just chaff, like what airplanes drop to confuse incoming missiles. I’ve seen claims like “The Irish Were Slaves, Too!”, and “Slavery Wasn’t Racist, Because There Were Black Slaveowners!”, but all of these are horseshit, designed to make black slavery into something somehow less egregiously racist. re: #148 Mattand

So, I just had had a FB conversation with a guy who claim that not only did the North have more slaves, they didn’t care for them as well as the South.

Discuss. Or don’t. It hurts my head to think that I have to share this country with assholes like this.

Has anyone heard of this specific hot take before?

Your friend is confused (or dishonest). That claim is, of course, nonsense. But it may be based upon some or any of the following. I would suspect the final point is what is being argued.

First, several states that mostly sided with the Union were slave states. Maryland, Kentucky, West Virginia, Delaware.

Second, several states that in portion sided with the Union were slave states, such as Tennessee and Missouri.

Third, several states that had embraced abolition. (Ending of slavery) New Jersey had grandfathered in slavery for those who were slaves at the time of abolition. The last 16 slaves there were not freed until the passage of the 13th amendment in 1865.

Fourth, there is the odious and false neo-Confederate argument that slaves were treated well and were happy in the slaver South and that it was freed blacks that were the ones mistreated. This argument was also tried before the Civil War. And was roundly disproved through reports and graphics such as photographs of the inhumane mistreatment. Plus the fact that whenever Union armies drew near, many thousands of slaves fled to them.

They’re listening to themselves talk. And they’ll use up all the allotted time and thank the folks they’ve invited for listening.

In other words, it’s how Congress does their thing too - they just love hearing themselves talk and pontificate at hearings where they’re supposed to be gathering information.
