I mean it’s not like she mocked Trump’s supporters. She mocked the media and administration, the people who are supposed to be mocked and that ACU idiot makes it like she’s an elitist. No buddy, you’re the elite and she was going after people like you.

This isn’t new with Trump — what about Rick Scott? Someone who should truly have been locked up but wealthy white collar criminals can get away with practically any crime.

I’m beginning to think that the Green Party has always been a creation of the GOP to split the Democratic vote.

And unfortunately, it seems to continue to work beyond all expectations at that job

The campaign to make the Democratic Party the real “Source of All Evil and Everything” or at the very least another “rightist corporatocracy” despite consistently moving leftward for decades is….yeah.

Nothing matters, it seems. If you’re a Dem, you’re obligated to be treated like scum forever and anon and get blamed for the shit happening when the GOP gets all the power. Fuck it.

Meanwhile, in the Things Aren’t Going to Go Well for Those in Charge File:

Nick Strom told the Cherry Hill Courier-Post that he has been fired as coach of the town’s Camden Catholic High School team despite a 34-6 record over four years. He has also been placed on administrative leave as a history teacher. The school disputes that his firing has anything to do with race.

“I think this is from me not conforming with their viewpoints on what they want the student body and the football team to look like,” Strom said, according to the Courier Post. “I’ve tried to build this program into one that’s based on kids being of ability, high character and high grades.

“From day one, the administration told me they did not approve of the ratio of black to white students.”

If this turns out to be the truth, as opposed to the school’s claim that it’s about his failure to adhere to a professional dress code and disrespect to the administration when it was brought up.

The Dems are the most left they’ve been in years. And yeah I hate to say it as a 30 year old white guy but a lot in our generation are either racially indifferent or even as bigoted.

This bit makes me less inclined to put much stock in it:

The Reuters/Ipsos poll was conducted online in English throughout the United States. It gathered about 65,000 responses in all during the first three months of 2018 and 2016, including 16,000 registered voters between the ages of 18 and 34 and nearly 11,000 registered white millennial voters.

A poll conducted over three months? How the fuck is that useful?

I felt like I’ve had to be quiet that HRC was more than the lesser of two evils, she was actually a good choice. Too often we’re told that we should be caring about what “middle America “ cares about and that’s almost always white America.

Per 2010 census data, population percentage of white people:

Wyoming: 93%
Iowa: 91%
South Dakota: 88%
Nebraska: 86%
Kansas: 84%
Indiana: 84%
Wisconsin: 83%

Turns out minorities tend to live in places like California (57% white), Florida (78% white, 55% white/non-latino), and New York (66% white) and not in the Heartland (tm)

I’m going to go way out on a limb and say this is an education problem.

The only thing they must be hearing is Republican messaging. And, they don’t get a proper civics and basic economics lessons in school to have any way of telling if they are being bullshitted.

We need some kind of tool to educate people on the realities of the effects the two parties have historically had on an individual’s bottom line.

We need Democratic candidates that have good charts and speeches that can make some of this clearer to the younger people.

The poll is useless. It was conducted over three months. Plenty of minds can change in that period. Someone who took it in January may feel differently in March; someone who took it in March may have felt differently in January. A poll over that long a period isn’t worth the code it took to post online.

We need Democratic candidates who have the financial resources to be heard. What do you expect to happen if people hear only the Koch side of economics?
