Interview: Donald Trump Trusts Kim Jong-Un, Says “His People Love Him”

Politics • Views: 33,844

YouTube

“Delusional” doesn’t even begin to describe this boasting, preening buffoon. Donald Trump thinks Justin Trudeau is stabbing him in the back, but Kim Jong-Un? Trump trusts him.

“He means it! He really wants to do something terrific for their country! He wants to de-nuke! He wants to do the right thing!”

And he thinks Kim “loves his people.” The same people he puts in gulags, starves, and regularly murders.

He’s already promised to cease military exercises with South Korea, and hinted at withdrawing all US forces from the peninsula, in return for… nothing. In this interview he says he made more agreements “after they signed.” Which could mean anything, but is probably a flat out lie.

UPDATE at 6/12/18 12:23:13 pm by Charles Johnson

Meanwhile, we have a darkly hilarious situation in Washington DC, where the messages about Trump’s promises to Kim Jong-Un are multiplying like rabbits.

Democide: the murder of any person or people by their government, including genocide, politicide and mass murder.

North Korea has spent its entire existence punishing and murdering opponents to the regime. They created a gulag archipelago of camps where political prisoners would work the fields until they died of starvation or mistreatment.

Jong Un personally ordered his own family members executed so as to eliminate potential rivals to his power.

There is no dissent in the country, and the entire totalitarian regime answers to Jong Un. There’s no public dissent or opposition. Kim is just like his familial predecessors - he stays in power and privilege while everyone else suffers. And if you don’t show that you love him, Jong Un will have you killed.

We have seen each other through it all
And when push comes to shove
I will send a fully armed battalion to remind you of my love!

Everything faded into mist. The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became truth.—1984

In North Korea, every person is property and is owned by a small and mad family with hereditary power. Every minute of every day, as far as regimentation can assure the fact, is spent in absolute subjection and serfdom. The private life has been entirely abolished. One tries to avoid cliché, and I did my best on a visit to this terrifying country in the year 2000, but George Orwell’s 1984 was published at about the time that Kim Il-sung set up his system, and it really is as if he got hold of an early copy of the novel and used it as a blueprint.

Less than 24 hours and already there are two versions of what happened. In one, NK called the Chinese to tell them Trump agreed military exercises would cease. Now Pence is telling GOP senators those same exercises will not cease.

The Trump apology tour is already well underway. They’re busy walking back and talking back Trump’s idiocies and destructive and corrosive statements/policy pronouncements because it undermines our security and that of our allies.

You could have predicted this, and yet media keeps treating this like a straight news story.

Trump’s too busy trusting Jong Un to worry about details like national security.

Back from voting—so far in my precinct—54 Democratic voters; 83 Republican. Sounds bad, but usually at this time of day (when I generally vote) it’s about 150 Republicans to 35 Dems. (1170 registered voters in the precinct, so pretty shitty turnout)

There’ll be some early voter numbers, but we don’t have “actual” early voting here—just for “olds” and specific reasons.

Trump’s locked into having to stop the planned joint military exercises through his sheer dumbassery.

China and North Korea knew this. That’s why they rushed to identify this concession and tout it before anyone else could respond. Now, if Trump says that he didn’t mean it, then he’s seen as a liar, and NK gets the high ground.

There are no good outcomes here for the US.

Trump ceded more leverage and power to NK and got nothing in return.

Who knew avocados were so dangerous?

On Tuesday’s episode of “The View,” co-host Joy Behar revealed she had to miss work Monday because she’d sliced open her hand cutting an avocado.

“Saturday night, on my way to the event at the retreat, I stabbed myself in the hand with a knife,” she explained. “I was trying to desperately eat something, so I was trying to open an avocado. So I stuck the knife into the pit to get it out … and I stabbed myself!”

File this in the “I can’t even file”

Newsweek - TRUMP: “I’LL FIND SOME KIND OF AN EXCUSE” IF WRONG ABOUT KIM JONG UN

President Donald Trump truly believes that North Korean leader Kim Jong Un is ready to denuclearize after this week’s historic summit, but if he’s wrong he’ll “find some kind of an excuse.”

In a press conference on day two in Singapore, Trump told the media that he trusts Kim will begin to dismantle his nuclear weapons program as well as its testing site.

But if the president is wrong, he may never admit it.

“I may be wrong. I may stand before you in six months and say, ‘Hey, I was wrong,’” Trump told reporters. “I don’t know if I’ll ever admit that, but I’ll find some kind of an excuse.”

In addition to their talks, the two leaders also signed an agreement on Tuesday that will commit the United States to providing certain security measures if the Korean peninsula is stripped of all nuclear weapons. Those security provisions, though, have not yet been specified.

Just a year ago Trump and Kim were hurling insults at one another and battling over the size of their respective “red buttons” that had the potential to launch a nuclear war. But Trump told Sean Hannity that the nasty rhetoric was absolutely necessary for getting to these negotiations.

In an interview with the Fox News host, the president said that at time his aggressive tone against Kim felt “foolish.”

“I hated to do it, sometimes I felt foolish doing it, but we had no choice,” Trump said. The president also condemned previous administrations for adopting what he called a “policy of silence” when it came to dealing with Kim’s threats.

Avocado pit removal, per Alton Brown (From Good Eats S09E11, “Curious Yet Tasty Avocado Experiments”):

1) After cutting the avocado in half, get a oven mitt or kitchen towel and hold the half with the pit in your protected hand, pit side up.
2 ) Take a chef’s knife in your other hand, pop the heel of the blade into the pit, then twist the knife a bit to remove the pit from the avocado.
3) With the web of your hand on the spine side of the knife, pinch the blade with your thumb and forefinger to remove the pit from the blade.

Mueller warns that election, politics meddling by foreigners is still happening

Special counsel Robert Mueller said Tuesday that election meddling operations are still occurring from “uncharged individuals and entities.”

Those figures are still engaging in operations similar to those charged in a case involving 13 Russian nationals accused of illegally interfering in U.S. politics.

Mueller made the claim in a court filing that asked a judge to grant the special counsel’s request to protect evidence in that case.

Trump being a corrupt lying piece of shit is about 25% of the story. The other 75% of the story is how the Republican party has degenerated to the point where Trump being a corrupt lying piece of shit is precisely why he was the GOP nominee in 2016, and how this led to his electoral college victory in the general election.

The never-Trump Republicans are always very quiet about that 75% of the story.

In yet another sign 2018 is going right off the fucking rails…

Suddenly, two huge screens on either side of the empty podium came to life. Soaring music boomed over the speakers, and the reporters were bombarded with a montage portraying North Korea as some sort of paradise.

Golden sunrises, gleaming skylines and high-speed trains. Children skipping through Kim Il Sung square in Pyongyang. North Korean flags fluttering between images of Egyptian pyramids, the Taj Mahal and the Lincoln Memorial.

In a split-screen shot, Kim Jong Un waved to an adoring crowd while President Trump stood beside him with his thumb in the air. The pair appeared over and over again, like running mates in a campaign video.

And this is clearly the preferred political system of our President, the Vice President, the Congressional majority, and virtually the entire news media.

A summit with no tangible developments is, by definition, neither a “win” nor particularly “historic.” It is, at best, a glorified photo op. The same things could have, and previously have been, accomplished with lower to mid level talks and negotiations.

Kim won almost everything he wanted.

And Beijing and Seoul are working to give him the rest, talking about rolling back sanctions and opening the business corridor again. It’s a big hard now to argue against that when Donny is hard at work normalizing a brutal dictator.

There’s a humdinger of a clerical error in the Virginia GOP Senate race right now. The Virginia state site shows EW Jackson (the loony religious LtGov candidate from 2013) in the lead in the Senate race, but that’s because he has 63,330 reported votes from one precinct in Virginia Beach. The actual leader is Nick Freitas just ahead of Corey Stewart (the loony Confederate-worshipping Gov candidate who lost the 2017 primary).

Yes. I guess my point is that the distributor (ATT) now will own a major content maker (TimeWarner) that they will distribute.

Just like Comcast (distributor) bought NBCU (content provider, though NBC did own a few broadcast stations too.)

So CNN is owned by ATT, MSNBC owned by Comcast.

So of course the news outlets are not champions of things like net neutrality.

Here’s Trump admitting to Hannity that he used the fire and fury rhetoric, a lie by his own admission btw, to sway public opinion enough to open the door to his summit charade. A dangerous liar and fraud.

Trump Tells Hannity: ‘Fire and Fury’ Rhetoric Made Me Feel ‘Foolish’

President Donald Trump sat down with Fox News’s Sean Hannity following his summit with North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un, and revealed that his “fire and fury” rhetoric from early this year was for show.

Hannity asked the president how Trump went from calling Kim “little rocket man” just months ago to the pair sitting down for a summit.

“Well, I think without the rhetoric we wouldn’t have been here,” Trump said. “I really believe that. We did sanctions and all of the things that you would do. I think without the rhetoric, you know, other administrations, I don’t want to get specific on that, but they had a policy of silence. If they said something very bad, very threatening and horrible, just don’t answer. That’s not the answer. That’s not what you have to do.”

“So I think the rhetoric — I hated to do it,” Trump continued. “Sometimes I felt foolish doing it. But we had no choice.”

Brief background—Archie came within 3 points of taking the seat in a special election last fall (Mulvaney’s old seat) to the guy who brought his gun to a town hall and is a complete moron. Good shot at winning this time.

Then, it came out that he beat his ex-wife 45 years ago. Not only did the Dems throw him off the bus, they ran over him with an 18-wheeler, but he wouldn’t drop out. I’m really torn. What he did was terrible, but if there’s supposed to be some kind of redemption thingie, doesn’t the following 45 years count for anything? I guess I’m glad it’s not my district…
