Video: The Con Man in Chief Meets the Dumbest Man on Television

A meeting of the alleged minds

Donald Trump and Steve Doocy. The con man in chief and the dumbest man on television having a moment. See if you can count the lies; it’s difficult because they come at you fast.

My favorite moment, though, is when Trump praises North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Un again, saying, “He speaks and his people sit up in attention. I want my people to do the same.”

@kpolantz
TODAY: Paul Manafort sent to jail to await trial.
He gave a stilted wave to his wife as court marshalls led him out of the courtroom. Minutes later, a marshall returned to hand his wife his brown leather belt, wallet and burgundy tie.

ummmmmm, is that a sign that he’ll never get out of prison to retrieve his personal effects?!

Although he can’t be too despondent since he knows his patron will pardon him. Eventually.

It’s horrifying and nauseating to watch people defend the so called President. The things this administration openly admits are mind boggling. Imagine what they’re doing behind the scenes.

Rudy’s not a very good strategist here. Pardoning Manafort or anyone else here opens up new avenues for prosecutors to get at Trump directly, because they’d no longer have 5A protection on the pardoned acts.

ok, maybe i know some tax stuff and a bit about non profits
ianal and dont know much about law

from what im reading it looks like they’re trying to rely on flores as some sort of “law” that must be followed unless “another law is passed”. even though flores was a court case and was about alien minors detained pending a deportation hearing

it seems totally misguided.

they’re conflating asylum seekers, refugees, undocumented aliens, aliens detained pending a deportation hearing, among others, to justify this separation of parents from children

I think what Trump is trying to do here (aside from the usual Pavlovian guilt-shunning and blame-shifting) is to mask the fact that the Congressional GOP (despite their prior demurrals) is doing precisely what it was predicted they would do: holding DACA/DREAMers - and now, separated kids in desert concentration camps - hostage to Congressional Democrats’ signing off on The Wall, and any other harsh GOP initiative to deter immigration. And the harsher the better, as the real audience for the “immigration reform” charade is the “Trump Base”: whose “policy preferences” are fundamentally xenophobic bigotry barely-fig-leafed by fake-pious concern over “illegals”: a category which basically means “non-whites”, i.e. untermenschen….

He’s not only a Republican. He’s a Remora Republican. Firmly attached. And of course, he sucks.

He competes with Jim Jordan to be Trump’s jockstrap!

Look at his recent tweet thread, he’s quite unhappy about the situation. Not commenting on his views toward Bernie or anything, but that particular tweet is part of a string of them mocking the ‘calling us racist makes us racist’ defense.

Remora Republican? Not understanding the label here.

Makes perfect sense to me. They suck onto their republican, and don’t let go. There is a symbiotic relationship that the remora needs the republican, but the republican will eat the remora at the first opportunity.

I think that was kinda brilliant, myself.

I think airplants take in atmospheric water though their “root” system: I think they (unsurprisingly) are found wild mainly in humid climates.

“Senior staff members at the Environmental Protection Agency frequently felt pressured by Scott Pruitt, the administrator, to help in personal matters and obtain special favors for his family, according to interviews with four current and former E.P.A. officials who served as top political aides to Mr. Pruitt,” the New York Times reports.

re: #108 wrenchwench

I thought you knew. I don’t. If she said ‘air plant’ that’s enough to do a search on.

I have questions. :D

This makes no sense. They do not live in soil due to shallow root systems but…

Air plants are growing rapidly in popularity as a low maintenance household plant. Due to their minimal root system and other adaptations, they generally do not require frequent watering, no more than four times a week, allowing the plant to completely dry before watering again. The amount of light required depends on the species; overall, air plants with silver dusting and stiff foliage will require more sunlight than air plants with softer foliage.[8] Plants are commonly seen mounted, placed in a terrarium, or simply placed in seashells as decorative pieces.

I have a total green thumb and I don’t water my finicky plants (like my orchid) four times a week. Ok, maybe the orchid, but really, not even the orchid. And how does one water something without soil? Spray it like a fern?

I do not get how these things live.

I mean they’d have a show, usually a two-hour special for it every year. My favorite segment was when they built a mechanical shark with off-buttons for eyes to see if punching one in the eye would stop them from eating you. Tory was of course the victim.
