Anybody could tell when 12 year old Joe was on stage, that he was going to be a damn fine guitarist. I couldn’t tell back then what a great singer he would be.

Star Wars: Yavin IV battle as it should have been.

What it will actually look like:

It’s from a legendary Turkish cult movie, Dünyayı Kurtaran Adam (The Man who Saved the World).

It’s known for it’s bad acting, laughable “special effects” and of course, the blatantly unauthorized use of footage from Star Wars.

I wouldn’t mind seeing someone sworn in not using a holy book. Teddy Roosevelt was apparently the last president to not use a bible. And Quincy Adams and Pierce used law books.

But swearing on your own terrible book is… impressive.

I have heard it said that Trump is stuck in the 70’s. Here is some evidence. The source of his Space Force idea:

Dark Star - Movie Trailer (1974)

The whole movie is also on YT. I saw it in an actual theater. Which had been converted from a swimming pool, you know, screen in the deep end. And seats. And no water.

The Ben Shapiro/AOC snit is another example of the media privileging right wing bad faith over all, extending the immediate assumption of good faith and by proxy the immediate assumption of bad faith against anyone who disagrees with them.

It’s fucking maddening, and yet it happens every single fucking time

When right wingers demand that someone “debate” them, it is always bullshit. Always. If you agree to it, they’ll turn it into a circus of stupidity and bludgeon you with experience. If you don’t, they say you’re “afraid” of their mighty skills.

Always always bullshit.

The “debate” is always done according to their carefully prepared rules, which are designed to maximize the likelihood that they will make you look like a fool, no matter how rationally you approach the subject, nor how unhinged your opponent actually is. That’s why it’s never worth it to engage these dribbling morons.

We haven’t been getting mail here in Rockwall for the past couple of days. I kept wondering why, and after not getting any today, my wife looked it up and found out why: They had a mercury spill at the Coppell distribution center, because someone shipped mercury illegally.
