Omarosa’s Newly Released Secret Recording Shows Donald Trump Is Clueless About His Own White House (Or He Lied)

Politics • Views: 40,954

YouTube

Well, we already knew he was the most uncaring and uninformed president we’ve ever had, but in the recording released today by Omarosa Manigault Trump tells her he didn’t even know John Kelly had fired her.

She was Trump’s Director of Communications.

So we have two possibilities here:

  1. Trump has no idea what's going on in his own White House.
  2. He lied to Omarosa.

Now that I think about it, option 2 is probably more likely.

UPDATE at 8/13/18 12:20:47 pm by Charles Johnson

And it gets better.

I’ll take option 3: She’s right about his mental decline and he can’t honestly remember if Kelly told him about his intent to fire her.

What I find funny is people trying to take sides, the idea that, because Omarosa recorded Kelly, she’s a GOOD person, or because she recorded him in a SCIF, she’s a BAD person.

THEY’RE ALL BAD PEOPLE, FOLKS!

Recording in a SCIF? BAD.
Letting someone into a SCIF who has no clearance for it? BAD.
Letting someone into a SCIF with a recording device? BAD.

No good dogs.

Trump:

Wacky Omarosa, who got fired 3 times on the Apprentice, now got fired for the last time. She never made it, never will. She begged me for a job, tears in her eyes, I said Ok. People in the White House hated her. She was vicious, but not smart. I would rarely see her but heard….

then from Daniel Dale tweet of trump’s speech

Trump says that local congresswoman Elise Stefanik kept calling him but he didn’t want to take her calls, and then she invited him to come speak at this base but he said he was too busy, but she persisted, so he eventually said he’d come.

Today in Manafort news.

4:39 p.m.: Judge spars with prosecutors again, says ‘You could have indicted the company, but you didn’t’

Whether or not Paul Manafort’s prosecutors are done with the case depends on how Judge T.S. Ellis III rules about whether an agent from the Treasury Department can retake the stand.

Paula Liss already testified that Manafort did not report foreign bank accounts on his taxes. Prosecutors want her to come back and say his consulting firm didn’t either.

Defense attorney Thomas Zehnle said that in closing arguments, they do plan to say Manafort had no obligation to report foreign bank accounts in the years he only owned 50 percent of his firm, Davis Manafort International.

“It’s very clear that if you do not own more than 50 percent of the entity, you do not have a responsibility,” Zehnle said.

Manafort’s wife owns the other half of the company and they file joint tax returns.

He is accused of failing to report the foreign bank accounts from 2011 to 2014. For one year charged, 2011, Manafort was the firm’s sole owner.

When he filed as a foreign agent in 2017, prosecutor Uzo Asonye noted, Manafort also described himself as owning 100 percent of the business.

Ellis pointed out that Davis Manafort Partners, later Davis Manafort International, was not accused. “You could have indicted the company, but you didn’t,” he said.

Asonye said that was true, but it was the defense that was now making the argument that this was a corporate responsibility.

Ellis took a short recess to decide the issue, predicting neither side would like his ruling.

AEP was in the neighborhood installing new digital smart meters on our homes this afternoon.

Now we can log in at AEP and see our own meter and its usage.

They also report any messing with the meter trying to cheat the electricity and if it gets shut off it needs to be reset by a tech coming to the house to check why it went off.

That also means they self report any outage coming into the meter the moment there is an outage.

Can be read by wifi and is always up-linking to satellite.

Is it just me, or is this the kind of thing that no sane politician of any stripe you can imagine would let himself get talked into? I mean, I’ve seen lots of negative impressions of Corbyin, but holy mother of god!

it is cosplay

Interesting. We had a woman where I work who left on Friday as a (as well adjusted as a) chemist (can be) who returned to work on Monday wearing all “motorcycle” regalia (she was really into finge) and talking of how she had joined a “group” (honestly don’t recall what she called it) and this was her new persona. Three months later announced she had some kidney thing and retired on disability to ride around the country with her new friends.

I knew her in grad school, too and cosplay strikes me as a perfect fit of the genesis of her transformation. She lasted about three years before kidney failure took her.

The beat goes on, the beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

Charleston was once the rage, uh huh
History has turned the page, uh huh
The mini skirts, the current thing, uh huh
Teenybopper is our newborn king, uh huh

And the beat goes on, the beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

The grocery store’s the super mart, uh huh
Little girls still break their hearts, uh huh
And men still keep on marching off to war
Electrically they keep a baseball score

And the beat goes on, the beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

Grandmas sit in chairs and reminisce
Boys keep chasing girls to get a kiss
The cars keep going faster all the time
Bums still cry, “Hey buddy, have you got a dime?”

And the beat goes on, the beat goes on
Drums keep pounding a rhythm to the brain
La de da de de, la de da de da

And the beat goes on, yes, the beat goes on
And the beat goes on, and the beat goes on
The beat goes on, and the beat goes on

Truly impressive how everyone involved in this article, including the author, can suck so much.

A botched power play by Julian Assange has led to a split within a key organization supporting whistleblowers and leaves the WikiLeaks founder more isolated than ever among his core constituency of radical transparency activists.

Assange has grown furious at a one-time ally with substantial moral authority within their movement: the journalist and activist Barrett Brown.

Since his release from federal prison on trumped-up charges related to a major corporate hack, Brown been increasingly public in voicing disgust at Assange’s embrace of Donald Trump and his general comfort with the nationalist right. That has led Assange, an erstwhile transparency advocate and whistleblower champion, to retaliate.

Brown literally threatened to kill an FBI agent.

From politico.com

A federal judge appointed by President Donald Trump ruled Monday that special counsel Robert Mueller’s probe is constitutional and legitimate, rejecting an effort by a Russian company — accused of financing a massive political influence operation in the United States — to stamp out the ongoing investigation.

Judge Dabney Friedrich, who Trump appointed to the U.S. District Court of Washington D.C. last year, is the fourth judge to quash efforts to upend Mueller’s legitimacy and cancel his investigation.

Hi. Have a puppy.

[Embedded content]

Speaking of not letting one stop giving scritchies, yesterday when I got home from my ride, I was totally worn out, so I sat on the floor near Rango’s bed. He was completely on the bed, with his head just within reach. So I reached my hand over and scritched his head and ears for a bit.

5 seconds after I stopped, he reached out with a paw to prod me. So I started scritching again.

Over the next 10 minutes, he kept adjusting his position to get closer and closer, till his head was against my leg. Then he kept going, till his butt (well, lower back above the tail, really) was within scritchy range. IN the end it was like 2/3 complete bedfail.

I think this was his idea of heaven - head against me, getting butt scritchies.

Meanwhile, Dory was lying 2/3 of the way out of her bed. Maybe Rango’s teaching her the art of Bedfail, too.

I suspect you see less of it with people who’ve actually met a Muslim. Or can tell the difference between a Muslim and a Sikh, but yeah, I had to look it up a few months ago when it started showing up on random conservatives’ profiles.

Someone pointed out that there’s a significant portion of the population for whom nobody is racist till they use the N-word. Those people apparently don’t think Trump is racist, till they hear the word coming from his mouth.

Well, there’s that. But my fear is, if a recording DOES come out with him saying it, all it will do is renormalize the word, just like “very fine people on both sides” normalized the alt-right.

We had a young mockingbird fall down our chimney a few years ago. We covered all the windows and opened a patio door, and then backed off. Fortunately, it got the hint and went for the light.
Otherwise, I suppose you could try netting it, but you might injure it in the attempt.

Safe to assume it has a stupidly xenophobic meaning.

It’s an arabic letter that was supposedly being spray painted by ISIS on the homes of Christians or suspected Christians to terrorize them into fleeing. So it naturally became a rallying symbol here for Christians who constantly fantasize about being persecuted so they can justify their own hatred and xenophobia.

Do this in the daytime:

Turn off all the lights in your house except the direction you want the bird to go (the shortest route to a door or window). Close all doors to other rooms.

Take a blanket down to the basement, and walk behind the bird with the blanket spread out as wide as you can (so the bird will fly in the direction you want).

As it moves out of rooms toward your target door, close doors behind you so it can’t double back.

I’ve had some get into This Old House.

Take an old towel with you too. Sometimes the bird will go low and into some kind of a corner or against the wall. Try to lightly toss the towel over it and then gently scoop the bird up in the towel and kind of fold the towel over it with as much looseness as possible and carry it outside away from the house and open the towel. I haven’t hurt a bird yet I don’t think. All of them have flown away.
