It’s gotten him to this point where he’s psychologically unravelling before our eyes as paranoia sets in after repeatedly being stabbed in the back by people he shouldn’t have trusted but did. He’s caught in a viper pit trap of his own making where he’s surrounded himself with scheming, obsequious people, almost none of whom truly respect him and many if not most of whom hate him and are terrified by what he’s capable of.

Depends on the alternative. If Biden had it locked up then Kasich might have been a more obvious choice but that’s also probably dependent on a much smaller field overall. Trump benefitted early on from the way the others split the primary vote up amongst themselves. Conversely I think Bernie helped Trump enormously because the news coverage was rapidly and nauseatingly dominated by A Tale of Two Populists.
My thinking is that all of them, but especially Trump were running against Clinton from the very beginning, and the wingnut media was partying like it was 1999, going batshit crazy with all the Clinton conspiracies. That level of stupid played into Trump’s wheelhouse, compared to the other “serious” candidates.
Imagine Biden (or whomever) winning Iowa and New Hampshire, even a close call in Nevada probably means Clinton is done early.
Without her are their organizing terror, I’m not sure the base gets riled into the frenzy that Trump benefited from. No “but her e-mails” no “Clinton Foundation Uranium One” no rehashing of the hits from the 90s.
It’s entirely possible that he still would have won the nomination, but he’d have been neutered in the general without 30 years of Clinton based conspiracy theories.

There ARE AKC Greyhound breeders who don’t breed for racing, they’re just few and far between. For example, there were NO AKC Greyhound breeders at the Golden Gate Kennel Club’s big Cow Palace show this year.
The vast majority of Greyhounds in the US are NGA, the racing breeder association. Take away racing, and will they still breed Greyhounds? Probably only a very few.
I honestly find myself a little ambivalent. No racing, and Rango and Zeena never exist and I never get to know and love them. But no racing, and all the dogs who have been tortured and/or killed wouldn’t have been tortured and/or killed. So, not an unalloyed positive.
(I read something on Greyhound puppies - they do everything all puppies do, but they do it at 30 mph, so when they run into you as all puppies do, it’s a bit more painful)
