Fanm Lyrics:
(English)

Stronger
Higher

Women who raise their children
(We want to hear you tonight)
Women who fight
Who work for theirs
(We celebrate you tonight)
Married women
Single women
Fast women
Powerful women
Women who get up even when they’ve been beaten down
(We celebrate our strength)

Are we ready to take it higher
Are we ready to change the game
Are we ready to take it higher
Hit them hard with what we’ve got

Short women
Tall women
(We want to see you in the front)
Women of the night
Women with a cold head
(Take your place, don’t be afraid, go get it)
Women of the sun
Women hot like fire
Women who make it rain
Women who struggle
Women who fight to change the world
Raise your hands and scream

Are we ready to fly high
(Yes, we are ready)
Stick together to be stronger
(Yes, we are ready)
To try another way
(Yes, we are ready)
To go farther
(To go higher)

Leave all our fears behind
(Yes, we are ready)
Use what we have in our hearts
(Yes, we are ready)
Are we ready to go forward
(Yes, we are ready)
Together we can go along way
(And go higher)

Are we ready to cultivate love
(Yes, we are ready)
Feed the spirits of our children with it
(Yes, we are ready)
Break all the chains seeking to strangle us
(Yes, we are ready)
And finally be free
(To go higher)

Yeah because Susan Sarandon was so vocally anti Trump. And if that’s referring to Bernie, that’s moronic.

The closest I can find is this (huffingtonpost.com):

There are no recorded instances of anyone dying from a fatal dose of marijuana alone.

…

Fatally overdosing on marijuana in its most commonly ingested forms is seemingly impossible. In 1988, a DEA judge argued in favor of rescheduling marijuana in part because of its low harm profile. In his ruling, he wrote that a user would have to ingest somewhere between 20,000 to 40,000 times the amount of THC contained in a single joint to approach lethal toxicity.

“A smoker would theoretically have to consume nearly 1,500 pounds of marijuana within about fifteen minutes to induce a lethal response,” wrote Judge Francis Young.

Study results vary, but some suggest a lethal dose of marijuana may be even higher. Extrapolating from cannabis toxicity research on monkeys, a human would have to orally ingest more than 2.9 grams of THC per kilogram of body mass to be at risk of poisoning. At 88kg, the average American man would have to down more than an 9 ounces of 100 percent THC extract. That’s almost certainly not possible, but if it were, it might involve taking this “Dragon Ball” to the face.

“That’s far more than most people will consume throughout their entire lifetime,” said Jahan Marcu, chief science officer at Americans for Safe Access, an organization that advocates for cannabis as medicine.

23
Belafon  Sep 15, 2018 • 9:54:54pm

There’s also this (transformationstreatment.center):

Most people who overdose on marijuana/cannabis run no risk of dying from the toxic changes in their normal body function.[ii] However, anyone who consumes excessive amounts of the drug can experience serious, potentially dangerous changes in their mental or physical well-being. On the mental health side, potential consequences of an overdose include:

Psychosis (hallucinations and delusional thinking) or paranoid psychosis
Intense anxiety and outright panic attacks
Even in moderate amounts that don’t lead to overdose, marijuana can lead to a significantly reduced ability to think clearly, make logical decisions or avoid dangerous situations. In addition, people under the influence of the drug can experience a substantial drop in the normal ability to control and coordinate body movements.

Marijuana Overdose Fatalities
Despite the low overall chances of dying from a weed overdose, some fatalities do occur. In 2017, the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering and Medicine released a book-length examination of the health risks associated with various forms of cannabis. This examination included an in-depth review of the risks for fatal and nonfatal overdoses[iii].

The authors the National Academies review note that several children have stopped breathing and gone into comas after consuming cannabis intended for adult use. In addition, they note that the death of at least one teenager is partly attributable to ingestion of an edible cannabis product. Three factors apparently make the odds of dying from an overdose more likely than before:

Widespread, increased access to marijuana/cannabis
A rise in the types of cannabis products available for consumption
A general rise in the THC content of marijuana/cannabis in the last 20-plus years

Based on human experience, I don’t doubt that people have died from cannabis, though it looks like it’s hard to do on the chemical alone. People have died from drinking too much water. I’m just wondering about the “millions” part.

A careful analysis of the preparations for and aftermath of Hurricane Maria in Puerto Rico. Short version: official government reports woefully underestimate the number of deaths attributed to the hurricane. So, when Trump quotes those tiny numbers, counting on his tiny fingers, he’s not even half-right.

hurricanemariasdead.com

After Hurricane Maria, many Puerto Ricans with treatable ailments like bedsores and kidney problems died agonizing and unnecessary deaths, according to dozens of accounts from family members. This was a slow-motion, months-long disaster that continued even as Donald Trump lauded his administration’s response to the category 4 storm.

The chaos that followed in Maria’s wake changed the face of death in Puerto Rico. Young people’s deaths spiked, surpassing the growth in the death rate among the elderly, despite the widespread belief that the hurricane only affected older people and those with preexisting conditions. Deaths from sepsis, a life-threatening complication from infection, rose nearly 44% to 325, compared to the previous three years; kidney-disease-related deaths rose nearly 43%, to 211.

On September 13, 2018, Donald Trump described the official estimate of Irma and Maria-related deaths as a Democratic plot to make him look bad and claimed that the death toll was far lower. The president visited Puerto Rico for about four hours on Oct. 3, almost two weeks after the storm; according to the Demography Record Institute of Puerto Rico, between September 6, 2017, and the day Mr. Trump left the island, there were 640 more deaths than the average during the same period in the last three previous years.

In the absence of a comprehensive official list of victims, the stories collected here are the only source of information that can help explain the historic increase in mortality in Puerto Rico post-Maria.

I predict the same kind of mortality rates following Florence.

They had a fatal shark attack in Massachusetts yesterday: bostonherald.com:

A 26-year-old Revere boogie boarder was killed in a shark attack off a Wellfleet beach yesterday that one stunned eyewitness said was “unprecedented” in its ferocity.

“I saw two guys in the water boogie boarding and one got engulfed. The thrashing was unprecedented,” Joe Booth Jr. told the Herald.

…

Booth, who said he came to Newcomb Hollow Beach in Wellfleet to surf, watched as the shark struck about 30 feet out and “a quarter mile” down from the main part of the beach. He spotted the shark’s fin and the surf churning and instinctively knew it wasn’t good.

…

“But nobody will be surfing on the Cape today,” the Mattapoisett commercial lobsterman added. “It’s bad, man. I see sharks cruising around all the time now.”

I did vote for Carter since the election was clearly a 2 man race but if Anderson had a realistic chance of winning, I may have selected him.

What happened to Tucker Carlson? This journalist set out to find the answer.

Years ago, Tucker Carlson was a well-regarded conservative writer with award-nominated articles and praise from journalism’s top editors. Now, he shouts about immigrants, cries that big tech is stifling conservative voices, and poses questions like “How, precisely, is diversity our strength?” on his nightly Fox News show.
Carlson’s journey has puzzled media critics for years. “What happened to Tucker Carlson?” they want to know. Now, Lyz Lenz, a writer with the Columbia Journalism Review, may have found the answer: Nothing.

…

The answer to “What happened to Tucker Carlson?” has actually existed for years, Lenz said.

“We want to think that, oh, this is a whole new shtick for him,” Lenz told Stelter. “But actually, I think it’s just part of who he’s always been. If you look at a lot of his early writings… there has always been kind of a latent racism.”

My brother brought it up yesterday. I’ll be sending him the snopes link, but I was hoping to find that location on google maps. A lot’s changed in 10 years, though.

Anyone who thinks it’s “funny” or “cute” or “ironic” to troll the libs by “pretending” to be a white supremacist on tv or in a picture… is a white supremacist.

No. Irwin made TV shows and movies you could goof on.

Bruckheimer is the Glen Larson of film producers—a second or third rate Irwin Allen!

Since we’re talking about large storms, Tropical Storm Helene is about to batter the Rebuplic of Ireland and the UK over the next couple of days. It’s not in any way as big as Florence, never mind Mangkhut, but the winds are already whipping up in Glasgow, and we’re not even in it’s path.

Kavanaugh really thinking:“I deny any wrongdoing.

However, I wholeheartedly endorse the Republican party having a ton of Republican women speak for me and back up I am so clean I needed them to sign on that I am a boy scout!

Have you seen my girl’s basketball team?”

I want one of the Senators especially a woman who would be close to Professor Ford’s age to press the weasel on this.He was part of a campaign to vilify Bill Clinton as a sex fiend and get him removed from office because of that. He should be held up to the same moral standard he placed on him.

Kenneth “impeachment is hell” Starr.

apple.news

As far as I’m concerned, Ken Starr has zlitch credibility at all after how he handled the Baylor sexual assaults. Mighty rich of him to act like impeachment is “hell” after he was responsible for impeaching a President over lying about a sexual affair. I realize that Clinton did perjure himself but Starr’s investigation should have never come to who Bill was banging.
