In Which Donald Trump Invents a Completely False Story That Obama’s House Has a “10-Foot Wall”

Politics • Views: 33,914

Did you know the President* of the US is a shameless pathological liar? No, really! He is! In fact, in 2018 the Manbaby in Chief averaged 15 lies per day. Impressive!

And yesterday he did it again, more than once. The lie we’re featuring in this article: he completely invented a claim that the Obamas’ new home in Washington DC is surrounded by a “ten foot Wall.” Yes, he capitalized Wall.

Fox News, the New York Post and the rest of the right wing media immediately parroted Trump’s claim, of course, without a hint of skepticism.

But the Washington Post has photos, and there is no 10-foot wall, capitalized or otherwise.

Some found the president’s tweet irresponsible. Fred Guttenberg, the father of one of students killed in the Parkland school shooting, tweeted, “Are you seriously trying to put our former President at risk?”

The Secret Service did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Trump’s tweet and security risks Monday morning.

A spokesman for the Obamas declined to comment on Trump’s tweet, and the White House did not respond to an email requesting more context on Trump’s claim that there is a wall around the property.

Another neighbor said the Obamas’ home is “100 percent visible from the street.”

“There is no 10-foot wall in the front, back or sides of the house — and no wall is going up,” the person said.

Trump seems to have a real penchant for imaginary walls.

The brick around the raised deck looks like it might be close to 10 ft. Somebody probably mentioned that and Trumpski ran with it after exaggerating it to the entire area.

That’s very true, but now, in the wingnut alternate reality, Obama’s house has this in front of it:

Sheriff releases name of 7-year-old girl shot leaving east Harris County Walmart with her mother

A 7-year-old girl was shot to death and her mother wounded early Sunday by a gunman who opened fire on the family as they drove out of a Walmart parking lot in eastern Harris County.

The unknown shooter fled and was still at large by early evening, according to Harris County Sheriff Ed Gonzalez.

LaPorsha Washington and her four children - ages 6 to 15 - were leaving the lot in the 15400 block of Wallisville when a man in a red pickup pulled up before 7 a.m. and opened fire into the family’s car. It’s not clear why the shooter opened fire, and at first the only description investigators could offer was that he wore a red hoodie.
*snip*
Later, authorities fleshed out the description, adding that the shooter is believed to be a white, bearded man in his 40s.

Maybe yes/maybe no; but his acolytes certainly cannot. They believe every word out of his mouth and they pose a real danger to the future of this country. Trump only succeeds to the extent that his base remains with him. If they abandoned him, McConnell would make sure that Trump is gone. Trump still retains tens of millions of loyal followers. That’s what gives him his strength.

Is that number really tens of millions of loyal followers though? Tens of millions of people voted for him, but that’s not the same as loyal followers.

The loudest ones are certainly loyal, and there are those who would slaughter their own business if Trump told them to, but how many really?

My prediction is by the 2020 election (if we all survive that long) is there will be just as many people saying they never voted for Trump as did after Geo. W. Bush. Conservatives are funny like that, can’t take responsibility for the party they built.

They might not be inclined to vote for a Democrat for President, but I imagine the “both sides are equally bad” folks would just sit it out.

Remember during the Bill Clinton and Dubya years they were so vehement that a man’s sexual behavior, especially infidelity, was the defining measure of his character?

They told me over and over and over again that the way a man treats his wife, and how he treats other women, was everything you need to know to judge his fitness for high office.

Odd that during the Obama years and the Trumps years, they have no memory of ever saying such a thing. They deny they ever believed such a thing. And yet my memory of hearing it from them is so vivid…

Why wouldn’t he? He is an imaginary successful businessman than used imaginary threats of outsiders being a problem for the USA to become a president who is imagining people like him because he is heroically successful.

- was there no contingency plan
tariff / trade wars and tax cuts? That was the plan?

Wow, that woulda made you more famous than Keynes and all those other yahoos, if it had worked
Clearly it didnt. I mean there’s that headline “US stocks post worst year in a decade”

trumps worst weeks 2018 - the guardian

for each one they have a “what they were saying” link and quote.
“this is the worst”
“no, this is the worst”
“this is definitely the worst”….
…except the last

-What they were saying: “President Donald Trump hasn’t had a lot of good weeks since becoming president last January. But this one looks like one of the worst.”

-What they were saying: “President Donald Trump has had more than his share of bad weeks, but it’s hard to imagine any week worse than this one.”

-What they were saying: “This has been, unequivocally, the worst week of Donald Trump’s presidency.”

- What they were saying: “It’s hard to pinpoint a worst week in what has been a presidency full of them.”

- What they were saying: “This week was nothing short of disastrous. In fact, this may just be Trump’s worst week of his presidency. And that’s no easy feat

- What they were saying: “The beginning of the end of the Trump presidency came and went a long time ago […] This week was a big step toward that endgame, and surely one of the most remarkable weeks in American history.”

The note by Citron Research called the company toxic to investors and advertisers after a damning report by the human rights organisation Amnesty International which laid bare the scale of abuse on the social network.

“The culture of hate and anonymity should have Twitter trade at a discount to its closest peer, not a 100pc premium”, it said.

“The hate on Twitter is real and the company is not taking proper steps to curb the problem. Citron believes this story has just begun and advertisers will be forced to make more morality-based brand building decisions.”

Pelosi and Schumer have to first negotiate with their party, which makes them better negotiators. McConnell just threatens his, which makes it easy when he has the power, but not other times.

I think Joe’s right; the White House is trying to figure out how to cave in without looking like they’re caving in, so they’ve got Kellyanne out there floating trial balloons.

They need the appearance of victory. Frankly, that shouldn’t be too difficult; with most of the Trumpers, they’ll believe anything Donny says, even if it’s the most outrageous BS. These are the kind of people my dad once told me about….”There’s some folks out there, well, let’s just say they’re not too bright. George Allison Whiteman

As the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor began, Lt. Whiteman went to his P-40B Warhawk aircraft at Bellows Field and had just lifted off the runway when a burst of enemy gunfire hit his cockpit, wounding him and throwing the plane out of control. The plane crashed and burned just off the end of the runway. Whiteman died from his injuries.

The news of his death reached his family at 10:13 p.m. the same day. In an interview with the Sedalia Democrat that night, his mother said: “It’s hard to believe. It might have happened anytime, anywhere. We’ve got to sacrifice loved ones if we want to win this war.” She gave the reporter a photograph of her son sitting in an aircraft with the inscription “Lucky, lucky me.”

Whiteman was one of the first airmen killed during the assault which marked the United States entry into World War II, and is considered the first American pilot killed in aerial combat in World War II while serving under American forces.

George was 22 years old.

Oh wait, this is Beach House Sheriff Todd Entrekin! And he’s the sheriff of Etowah County, home to such luminaries as Roy Moore!

Earlier this year, it came out that he’d pocketed $750,000 as follows:

But ethics disclosure forms Entrekin filed with the state reveal that over the past three years he has received more than $750,000 worth of additional “compensation” from a source he identified as “Food Provisions.”

*snip*

Entrekin told al.com last month that he has a personal account that he refers to as his “Food Provision” fund. And Etowah County resident Matthew Qualls said that in 2015 Entrekin paid him to mow his lawn via checks with the words “Sheriff Todd Entrekin Food Provision Account” printed in the upper-left corner. al.com viewed a photograph of one such check.

The money in the account was allocated by federal, state and municipal governments to feed inmates in the Etowah County jail, but was not used for that purpose and was instead personally pocketed by Entrekin.

“In regards to feeding of inmates, we utilize a registered dietitian to ensure adequate meals are provided daily,” Entrekin said Sunday via email. “As you should be aware, Alabama law is clear as to my personal financial responsibilities in the feeding of inmates. Regardless of one’s opinion of this statute, until the legislature acts otherwise, the Sheriff must follow the current law.”

And this is legal how, you ask?

Many Alabama sheriffs contend that the practice of keeping “excess” inmate-feeding funds for themselves is legal under a state law passed before World War II. Yet in a number of counties including Jefferson and Montgomery, any money allocated to sheriffs for feeding inmates that is not used for that purpose is instead turned over to the county government.

Entrekin reported on forms he filed with the Alabama Ethics Commission that he made “more than $250,000” each of the past three years via the inmate-feeding funds.

al.com

Later, after he lost his primary, he put the beach house up for sale.
al.com

And in the “giving credit where credit is due” department, here’s the link to the al dot com story talking about Entrekin’s $1.5 million windfall:

al.com

I am personally thinking that Entrekin will be in a world of hurt in a day or two, when he’s no longer sheriff of Etowah County. What a shameful, awful, horrible person this man is, stealing money from the mouths of inmates and no doubt serving them the Alabama equivalent of green bologna (a Sheriff Joe Arpaio special).

At the time of the first report, his actions were legal and not unique in Alabama. IIRC a change is making it’s way through the state legislature (GOP supermajority).

“You know why Asian guys have small dicks. ‘Cause they’re women. They’re not dudes. They’re all women. All Asians are women. And they have big clits, really big clits, and when they have sex they just stick their clits in each other’s pussies and then they procreate using math,” said the 51-year-old comedian.

While we’re talking about sick humor. Today I got back from walking the dog and turned on the TV. I wasn’t in the mood for political shows, so I turned on Comedy Network (or whatever it’s called). It was “Reno 911.” Just as I turned it on two of the deputies were going door-to-door to sell candy bars. They reached one where a very cheerful guy welcomed them into his home and had them sit down. Asked how many candy bars he wanted to buy, he said ‘as many as you have!’ The officers looked at each other with a “Yes!” smile. Then the guy asked if he could write a check; he could; then he wrote a note for his wife: “thanks for 12 years together. PS, sorry for the mess.” Then the guy stepped into the kitchen. BANG and blood splatter as he shoots he brains out out of scene.

The Reno officers for a second are stunned and are like WTF. And then one says: “he didn’t sign the check….”

Christ, that sounds like he’s had a head injury, not just a career failure. Some serious personality problems going on with that boy… I used to think he was brilliant in his own particular way. I liked how his TV show dealt with awkward, bad feelings and situations. Now I’m thinking he’s been a monster the whole time and maybe the considerate, contemplative side of his dark comedy was the act.

Hadrian’s Wall was effectively a publicity stunt.

The Great Wall failed because the guards sent to man it were isolated in the middle of fucking nowhere, so eventually they went native by taking wives from the local tribes and having children who they had more loyalty to than their Emperor.

And the Berlin Wall was never 100% effective, between those who smuggled themselves out and the CIA tunneling under the damned thing.

Well, the Alabama money is one thing, but I do believe that taking money from the feds is an entirely different thing. Todd Entrekin is an idiot if he thought the feds would look the other way if he didn’t use the contracted monies as intended.

‘RBG’ premieres on Labor Day on CNN

The television broadcast premiere of “RBG,” a multidimensional portrait of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg ‘54, airs Monday, Sept. 3, at 9 p.m. and midnight EDT on CNN, and will stream live on CNNGo.

The critically acclaimed film, directed by Betsy West and Julie Cohen, looks at Ginsburg’s life and its many lessons, her legal legacy and her status as a multigenerational pop culture icon. The film features exclusive interviews with the justice and with Gloria Steinem, Nina Totenberg, Sen. Orrin Hatch and others; scenes from Ginsburg’s career and private life, including previously unseen home movies, are also included.

“RBG” spends considerable time on Ginsburg’s years at Cornell, where she met her late husband, Martin Ginsburg ‘53, and how he inspired her achievements.

I’ve always had big dogs, but being in a rental and with two kids and then a dog to fit into a car to travel, we need a small dog. I had a miniature poodle when I was a kid; hypoallergenic and very smart. Also, if you clip their fur evenly all the way around, they look like a little lamb.

Many people don’t know this, but “Walls and Wheels” was the title of the legendary lost Pink Floyd album, erased accidentally by an engineer’s assistant.

8:51 PM - Dec 31, 2018

I had heard what happened was the engineer wiped out a little over half of the sessions and that is why they were left with The Wall.

I’m reminded of the story I read how one night, St Francis woke up in the middle of the night to hear a young fellow crying from homesickness. He woke every one and held an impromptu party to help feel at home with them. Since in the scenario described, we’re all going to be dead shortly anyway, sharing and enjoying what little time remains would be far more Christian than the solution your Jusuit proposed. But what do I know?

I grew up with a German Shepherd and then had another one until we had to move to a new house with a 2-year-old, my newborn, and my blind grandmother. The blind grandmother was kind of a deal breaker with having a dog, particularly one who liked to get underfoot. We had to find a good home for her, one with higher than usual WALLS because she was an escape artist!

This kind of makes me happy. Many years ago I went to the Lowell Observatory in Flagstaff and sat at the machine Tombaugh used to discover Pluto. It was a blink comparator. Basically, Tombaugh was up all night taking pictures of the night sky where it was thought Pluto was lurking. Then he’d develop the negatives after sunrise and put them on this machine, which would switch back and forth between the two negatives. Since planets move much faster than the background stars, if something was moving against the stars, you’d see it move from night to night. And that’s how Tombaugh discovered Pluto in 1930.

The Lowell blink comparator went to the Air & Space Museum three years ago for a three year stay, but may be back in Flagstaff by now. Here’s a story.

airandspace.si.edu

And this is why I think Pluto is a planet. Clyde Tombaugh worked HARD to find Pluto, taking pictures night after night, squinting at plates day after day. Just My Personal Opinion.

I don’t suppose it’s relevant that the Aztecs never invented the wheel.

They had indoor plumbing (hot and cold taps and flush toilets) 500 years before the Europeans did, but… no wheels.

And until the Europeans arrived, no horses or explosives either.

They did, actually (wheels, I mean)… but they were children’s toys.

Also, his campaign manager and deputy campaign manager and several lower-ranking campaign staffers. His best magazine friend and his long-time CFO at his private company aren’t convicted of anything, because they’re getting immunity for sharing years and years and years worth of relevant info with investigators and prosecutors.

I’ve always had big dogs, but being in a rental and with two kids and then a dog to fit into a car to travel, we need a small dog. So, I’m looking for a hypoallergenic dog that is great with kids and not aggressive. Any suggestions anyone has on that would be great! I’m thinking of a miniature poodle or miniature poodle mix.

I know more than I want to remember about the subject. And have prepared mentally for a number of scenarios, including those where I’m outside any ground zero or fallout zone and actually have a shot at survival.

And people still wonder why I hate nukes as well as people talking about lobbing them like firecrackers with the passion of a thousand stars.
