Breaking: Badly Redacted Court Filing Shows Trump’s Campaign Manager Shared Polling Data With Kremlin Agent

Politics • Views: 22,710

Paul Manafort’s lawyers messed up the redactions in their latest filing, and now we know a little bit more about what Robert Mueller has on the Trump gang: Paul Manafort shared 2016 polling data with Russian employee, according to court filing.

Paul Manafort shared 2016 presidential campaign polling data with Konstantin Kilimnik, a former employee whom the FBI has said has ties to Russian intelligence, according to a court filing from his defense attorneys.

The apparently inadvertent revelation indicates a pathway by which the Russians could have had access to Trump campaign data.

Here’s the PDF document. If you copy and paste the paragraphs with the “redacted” sections, you too can see what they failed to conceal.

re: #522 Anymouse 🌹

The son of the convicted rapist who started trump (dot) dating is now running a $200,000 grift to run a new conservative dating site called Trump Town.

Robin Pennacchia opened an account at Trump Town to see what is going on there. Turns out, not much.

Trump (dot) dating got in hot water when they used a retired Air Force general’s photo without permission, claiming he was available. He’s been happily married for many years.

The Trump (dot) dating site was promoted in the usual wingnut circle-of-derp which passes for media: Daily Caller, then FOX.

The son is now complaining that a venture capital site he sought money from for his new grift Website is full of crypto-liberals who want to shut down conservative Freeze Peach.

re: #13 Charles Johnson

This admin has zero credibility. That started before day one.

Thing is, that they’ve attacked the very institutions themselves, undermining the institutional credibility. Trump long claimed that census and employment data was cooked, and now we’ve got evidence that Trumpworld was pushing bogus stats at DHS to support his nonexistent crisis at the border.

The GOP and Trump are sabotaging functioning government and are intent on grabbing everything on the way out (smash and grab). Sabotage is what the GOP base thinks they want. They have bought into the nonsense about taxes and how minorities are the cause of all the angry white guy problems, when the problem is that the GOP leaders care only about the rich white guys at the top who want to make more money on the backs of everyone else. They sold out to the Russians (and didn’t even need to be on the dole for that to happen since the Russians were more than willing to help advance the GOP power grab since Russia benefits from the chaos they’re sowing here).

Trump and the GOP are the clear and present danger to the nation. They’re manufacturing a crisis where none exists.

The actual data about border crossings, apprehensions, and those here illegally prove no crisis exists. It wasn’t a crisis 2 decades ago, and it isn’t one now. It’s now about value signaling to his white nationalist base that he’s a bigot just like them.

“…If Trump is really prepared to announce an emergency order to build the wall, then why is the government still shut down? If the White House has any hope of selling the border situation as a true crisis requiring an immediate emergency response, don’t they also have to reopen the government immediately? It’s hard to argue that it’s a true emergency but also not serious enough to need a federal government (including the Department of Homeland Security!) that’s operating at full strength.

Hmmmm, any Freudian would point out the symbolism of phallic jets shooting missiles…

Recently read Night Fighters by Bill Gunston. This is a mostly technical history of primitive radar-equipped fighters in World War II. Airborne radar was very limited in range so ground controllers, using their much larger ground-based sets, would direct pilots to the vicinity of the target, then tell them when to turn on their own, on-board, radar to make the final interception. In the RAF, the standard phrase for this was, “flash your weapon,” which had about the same double-meaning then that it does now.

On NIcole’s MSNBC show Rep. Eric Swalwell is talking about the Russian’s discussing the election polling data is very important to Mueller because it shows there well may have been collusion with Russia in the elections.

He said the polling data showed Trumps’s strengths and weaknesses and where he was strong in the county and where he was not. They could then tailor there bots to work where they would be most effective.

Pretty good discussion.

What Happened When A Trump Supporter Challenged Me About the Wall (Medium, more at the link):

A conservative challenged liberal Facebook friends to “make a case, not based on emotion” against Trump’s wall. Conservative buddies flooded his post with snide remarks about how this would be impossible for “deluded libs.”

“Okay, I’ll play,” I responded. And in order to avoid being accused of bias, I explained that I would use only conservative sources to prove my point. My primary source was a policy paper by the Cato Institute, a conservative, rightwing think tank, along with other conservative voices (listed at the end of the piece). Here’s why I’m against the wall, I wrote:

Sure we have a lot of partisans, but thankfully we also have a lot of people concerned about what Trump is doing. Those people are stepping up now.

I vaguely recall one of the issues when TSA was created was whether its employees would be able to unionize. As for TSA agents calling in sick, I get that, but it’s not much different from the old “blue flu” where police officers would basically engage in an illegal strike. There is one difference, in that the government isn’t paying them, so this could be seen as an illegal lock out. But I’m not sure that would fly under the law as it stands with respect to these types of positions. Like the air traffic controllers, certain government jobs mean you give up the right to strike, and the consequences of a strike can be real.

re: #145 Anymouse 🌹

bloomberg.com

Bloomberg put up an op-ed claiming a sovereign citizen’s Freeze Peach rights are being violated because he was charged with a felony for his paper terrorism.

This guy is a syndicated columnist in a bunch of newspapers. Just what the wingnuts need, a claim that they are really persecuted.

This article is fucking BULLSHIT. This is EXACTLY why the paper terrorism statutes were enacted. Because sovereign citizens just do this shit. And they need to be smacked down hard. I’d also point out the following from a Courthouse News article last year:

Last May, Gunther Glaub was found guilty of making false claims after he submitted $1.7 million in debts to the USDA, including $73,000 for a Corvette, $65,000 for a Camaro bill, and a student loan owed to the U.S. Department of Education. Glaub included a note with the debts, politely asking the USDA to settle his debts.

While he faced a hefty prison sentence, Glaub was eventually fined $500, given five years’ probation and ordered to do 100 hours of community service.

courthousenews.com

This dingbat Noah Feldman needs to experience a bit of paper terrorism, with some sovereign citizen filing liens against him just as he’s trying to get financing for a new house or some such. I am thoroughly disgusted.

ETA: I read the comments (I know, don’t read the comments but I scrolled to a guy named “the unrepentantliberal”) who noted:

Look at the indictment: He purchased $194,000 in new cars, printed up fake government money orders to pay for them, another $11,000 in debts, plus another $1,475,000. The opinion piece doesn’t mention that at all.
He’s a follower of the Sovereign Citizen movement in which attempting to illegally defraud the government by faux legal paperwork is a major tenant of belief.

The article deliberately left out 99% of the details of what he actually did to get convicted.

The writer also notes that Noah Feldman is alleged to have sovcit leanings.

I’m no lawyer, but the word is it may have been filed to make sure Trump would not be able to claim any statute of limitations on whatever it alleges. Also, it may also be there to try him the minute he is out of office.

So, if he resigns and cuts a deal to not be impeached from office, he may very well still be in deep.

And who knows, it may be the SDNY prosecutors going after him for his corrupt business practices that brings what you hope for!

Did you say Collins? LMAO!!!!!

She’s said stuff, which granted, words are wind… but she’s also up for re-election in 2020, so she’s got reason to not go over the cliff. Hell, even Ernst and Capito seemsto recognize this might be bad in the long run:

“It hurts all of us and everybody that’s looking from the outside. They’re like: What is wrong with you? Why can’t you find a solution?” said Sen. Joni Ernst of Iowa, one of the Republicans up for reelection next year.

[snip]

“A shutdown in my view is a no-win proposition,” Capito, who is seen as a safe bet to keep her seat, said. “When I was going through TSA this morning coming up here [to Washington], my local TSA guys were like, ‘Are we going to get paid?’ It’s just a lot of unneeded stress on a lot of people.”

I wonder how DC police would react if anyone they arrested for reaction to tonights speech used US POW protocol - Name, SSN (former serial number became SSN while I was on active duty) and rank if any. Simply state Civilian if none. Refusal to accept parole (part of the US Army Code of Conduct) would FUBAR their jail capacity really quickly as well.

The military stopped printing SSNs on ID cards after a bunch of blank cards and a machine were stolen from an Army office in Florida.

My own card has a service number now after I renewed it.

Didn’t hear about that one. My SSN was my Serial my whole time in (active or reserve) and it still is dealing with the VA.

The rest will still work though - if you’re a civilian and they try to bust you, claim POW status with your SSN as your serial number and Civilian as your paygrade. Do not let them pretend anything in this is normal. Make them use the international law we already agreed to.

This mistaken non-redaction conveniently lets co-conspirators know what Mueller shared

I have no idea whether this non-redaction was a colossal mistake or whether this was a cute way to disclose what evidence Mueller has shared with Manafort (remember: these five lies were not the only ones that Manafort told; just the only ones that Mueller wanted to describe).

But even ignoring the redaction fail, the filing feels very contemptuous, as if they’re still playing for a pardon.

Effectively, they’re admitting their client maybe lied or just conveniently forgot to minimize his ongoing conspiracy with someone even Rick Gates has said has ties to Russian intelligence — the same Russian intelligence agency that hacked Democrats. But they don’t think that’s a big deal. They’re just going to double down on obtaining more information on the evidence Mueller has while they wait for the pardon. (more)

The redaction error was likely just an error. A paralegal or legal secretary probably used the wrong method to redact the portions of the filing that were supposed to be redacted. No lawyer is going to risk their livelihood (and freedom) to so sloppily engage in potential obstruction of justice.

True, plus they’ve fouled up like this in the past.

As I understand what happened, the redaction was made by turning the background black in the pdf. All that was required to do was copy and paste the redacted portion to a text editor, and viola.

We don’t have fluoride in our drinking water either.

LB 245 was passed in the Unicameral requiring all cities 1,000 and above to put fluoride in drinking water, in 2008.

A subsequent referendum was floated and failed on the ballot to repeal the act.

From 1992 to present, the percentage of people served with fluoridated water systems rose from 62 to 71%.

Not long after I acquired a taste for whiskey, my (now former) bosses took me on a business trip, and as was the company tradition, we visited the hotel bar. Now our bosses’ objective on any business trip, aside from, y’know, business, was to kill at least one bottle of something at a bar. Determined to hold my own, I took two doubles in quick succession. My bosses were astonished when I asked for another, and then I gained immortality when the bartender replied, “I think we’re out. Let me go see if we have another bottle.”

I wouldn’t drink tequila after a vicarious experience with getting sick from cheap shit.

Vicarious, you say?

Yes - first week of Freshman year in college, a bunch of guys in my dorm pitched in money and got some upperclassman to go buy a shitload of vodka and tequila for a “Shot Party”.

I had a girlfriend, so I spent that evening with her, rather than drinking.

When I got back to the dorm, there was a strong smell of cheap tequila with an overlay of stomach contents, if you get my meaning. Couldn’t face tequila after that, till a coworker offered me a sip of Herradura Reposada, and I realize it wasn’t tequila I didn’t like. It was cheap that I didn’t like.

I genuinely did not know. Thank you very much for telling me.

He took pictures in the field. I have over 100 pictures of that bridge when it was found, the pontoon bridge he worked on, and the bridge after it collapsed. He loved talking about it. He died when I was 10.

Oh. My. God.

Please talk to either the Army or the Smithsonian.
