The Day After Steve King Is Denounced in Congress, Two GOP Congressmen Meet With Notorious Holocaust Denier Chuck C. Johnson

Politics • Views: 30,713
Holocaust denier Chuck C. Johnson (front left) with GOP Reps. Phil Roe and Andy Harris (Credit: Matt Fuller)

If you’ve been wondering what happened to notorious Holocaust denier and avowed racist Chuck C. Johnson since his various scam sites were shut down (some by him, some by payment providers refusing to do business with him), he popped up today like a white nationalist jack-in-the-box — at the Cannon House Office Building in Washington DC, meeting with Republican Representatives Phil Roe and Andy Harris.

Huffington Post reporter Matt Fuller grabbed a photo, and commented, “Both waited for him to get through security.”

This comes one day after the Republican Party made a big show of condemning Steve King for his comments about white supremacism. So it’s now been zero days again since a Republican politician was seen associating with a known racist.

I tagged both of these Congressmen on Twitter to ask for comment, and will report their response (if any) here.

What the fuck is wrong with these people?

And I am still trying to wrap my head around why radical moderate truth-teller Mitt Romney was not in favor of enforcing sanctions against Putin’s asshole buddy oligarch. And why Bernie Sanders didn’t show up to vote at all.

NBC - ‘To Catch a Predator’ host Chris Hansen arrested over $13,000 in bounced checks

“To Catch a Predator” host Chris Hansen was arrested Monday after he allegedly wrote bad checks to a vendor he owed money to, according to police.

Hansen turned himself into the Stamford Police Department in Connecticut after a warrant was issued for his arrest on a felony charge of issuing a bad check, Stamford Sgt. Sean Scanlan said.

In summer 2017, Hansen bought about $13,000 worth of promotional items, like hats, shirts and mugs from a local company, and paid for them with a check that bounced, Scanlan told NBC News.

“The owner and Hansen go back and forth for a period of time,” and in April of 2018, Hansen gave the business owner another check, Scanlan said. That one bounced, too.

Police issued a warrant for Hansen’s arrest after he refused to speak with them, Scanlan said.

I suppose that depends on what “scrutinise” means.

The Pentagon has always screened people with green cards or foreign ties. When I joined the Navy, I had to list all the trips my family made to Canada, and get paperwork from Brazil showing I had not been arrested there, and have my school transcripts translated from Portuguese at my own expense.

The same thing with my security clearance paperwork.

I had to do the same with applicants when I was a recruiter.

Can you kite a check these days, what with the almost instantaneous payment?

They bounce the next day and everyone knows it.

I think kiting was old school because you had processing time involved which gave you a bit of time to gather the bucks. In a way a loan extension. Or, you leave town.

Paper checks still take a while. Every once in a while, one will catch me off-guard when I do the budget because I count it as paid out, but it doesn’t actually get paid out until a few days later.

Yes you can. When my wife was the public librarian, she got calls from a number of businesses in Scottsbluff demanding to know where the assistant librarian was who was kiting checks all over Scott’s Bluff County.

She repeatedly informed them the woman had not worked there in years, and finally had to get the Morrill County Attorney to call up the Scott’s Bluff County Attorney to inform them that woman didn’t live here in town and didn’t work at our library.

The new vetting is likely to screen thousands of recruits per year who have what the Pentagon considers “foreign nexus” risks, including some Americans who marry a foreign spouse or who have family members with dual citizenship, the memos said. Anyone identified for the screening would not be allowed to attend recruit training until they are cleared, a process that could take days for some but drag on much longer for others.

So the Los Angeles Unified School District is in day three of a strike. The issue isn’t really teacher pay (the teachers wanted 6.5% pay increase, the district offered 6%), the issue is class sizes (many over 40 students) and schools not having resources (like full time librarians or nurses).

Now, some teachers from charter schools have walked out.

Charter schools are publicly funded, but can be privately operated. They are also exempt from union contracts affecting school districts.

Although it’s rare, teachers at charter schools may organize and seek representation from a union, just as the teachers at the Accelerated Schools did. This is said to be only the second time nationally that instructors at a charter school organization went on strike.

Union representatives for teachers at the Accelerated Schools said more than a year and a half of negotiations with school management failed to yield a contract. At a morning news conference, teachers and their supporters chanted and waved signs outside Accelerated’s campus on Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

That seems like a rather big deal

What is the difference in check kiting and check bouncing? Let’s take a look.

From Wiki: Kiting is commonly defined as intentionally writing a check for a value greater than the account balance from an account in one bank, then writing a check from another account in another bank, also with non-sufficient funds, with the second check serving to cover the non-existent funds from the first account.[1] The purpose of check kiting is to falsely inflate the balance of a checking account in order to allow written checks to clear that would otherwise bounce.[2] If the account is not planned to be replenished, then the fraud is colloquially known as paper hanging.[3] If writing a check with insufficient funds is done with the expectation they will be covered by payday - in effect a payday loan - it is called playing the float.[4]

Ireland trying to take over from Florida Man:

Man Injects 18 ‘Doses’ of Semen Into Arm to Cure Back Pain, Ends Up in Hospital (Gizmondo)

In a new case study, Irish doctors report the baffling case of a 33-year-old man who injected his own semen intravenously for a year and a half, a self-developed “cure” intended to treat his chronic back pain. It does not appear to have worked.

After reportedly injecting semen into his arm every month for 18 months, the man finally sought medical attention—but not for his arm. The patient instead complained of “severe, sudden onset lower pack pain,” having lifted a “heavy steel object” three days beforehand. During his checkup, the doctor found a patch of red swelling on his right forearm, after which the man admitted he’d been injecting himself with his own semen using a hypodermic needle he purchased online.

This time around, he had injected three “doses” of semen, entering both his blood vessels and his muscles.

I’m still two threads behind. And I do not know if this has already been explained…

But here’s some thoughts on what pulling out of the Intermediate Ballistic Missile treaty means:

The intermediate ballistic missile treaty banned missiles and launchers that had a range of about 300 to 3400 miles. This removed the threat of Warsaw PACT (ie USSR) missiles directed at NATO countries.

Pulling out, basically, allows Russia to again threaten Europe and NATO with nuclear missiles. And at the same time Trump by pulling out of NATO, is saying that we will not protect you from Russia.

Basically he is threatening to place all or Europe (and the Middle East) under direct Russian threat. With little defense from it.

That is, he is surrendering all of Europe to implicit Russian control.

Edit - Fix grammar (And -> The, This -> Pulling out)

Well, John Engler was fired after he shot his mouth off!

A Michigan State University trustee said the school’s interim president, John Engler, will be terminated amid outrage over comments he made about women who were sexually abused by a disgraced former doctor at the university.

Trustee Brian Mosallam said in an interview that the board would vote Thursday to terminate Engler if he does not resign before then.

“We cannot move forward with him at the helm,” Mosallam said. Engler has been a distraction from work being done on campus to improve student health and wellness, and to implement institutional reform, Mosallam said.

“No one is ever talking about that,” the trustee said. “All we are constantly talking about are John Engler’s incendiary comments. For that, he must step down immediately.

This may be hyperbole and a bit self-aggrandizing, but you guys? I think I’m smarter than the “president” of the United States.

Therefore, I will be putting together an exploratory drinking committee to…

Well…drink a whole damn lot.

Thank you, and may God bless America.

Because of expansion of Mormonism in Russia. It was in the news a couple of days ago. Someone posted a tweet downstairs.

Thank you for the explanation, but now I am even angrier.

Perhaps some of the people of Utah voted for Mitt to represent the Mormon Church, but I am certain there are people in that state and elsewhere who expect a United States Senator to put the interests of this nation ahead of anything else.

I’m not sure of the answer to that. Not raising wages to match inflation doesn’t seem to be that answer.

In a rational age, the difference would be partly offset by increases in Social Security CoLs. In other words, that ain’t happening.

I’m not aware of any raise to the minimum wage having previously caused a significant uptick in inflation.

Because we always let the MW fall so far behind the real labor market before upping it.
(OTOH, when the federal MW was raised to $1.00, I got a 20% raise.)

Those in Congress should know, or have reason to know, that they’re consorting with a notorious smear merchant, liar, white supremacist, and Holocaust denier.

Those GOPers should be asked if they know, and if they do, why are they still contacting him.

I think we know what the answer will be - they’re down with it and just don’t like that they’re being exposed for being white supremacists.

In the 2014 election here, the referendum to raise the minimum wage from the federal floor to $9.00 (a rise of roughly 15%) did not result in significant inflation. The law had not changed since 1967 (a minimum wage and hours act was passed then bringing the state in line with federal law).

My hardware store had a Radio Shack mini-display, and we watched the congresscritters and the President’s address from one of the TV’s we wired up. What Nancy Pelosi is asking for is for the older procedure and not what every other President since Wilson has done.

Find out who carries the BoE liability insurance and get their opinion/concerns.

Excellent point!

A few more ideas that you could ask them

1. To see the study that they “must have done” about the alternatives.

- Ask them in how many cases has such a security guard (as they are proposing) stopped a school attack?

-What security groups actually recommended this as the best approach.

- What alternatives did they reject in order to spend the money on this?

2. Exactly what Operating Procedures they are putting in place for this security guard to fulfill? I understand that the Parkland HS deputy on duty was confused as to what he was supposed to do. Including what training and experience will be required.

3. What coordination has been done with local and state law enforcement. And what recomendations they had made. (Probably best to know the answer to this before you go in.)

(Off to watch Maddow. And finally get some dinner. bbl!)

1) who is providing liability and negligence insurance for the district? How much will premiums rise?

2) training standards for the officer? Who provides the training? What scenarios are covered?

3) who is providing and paying for the minimum twice a year refresher training?

4) who is providing and paying for the minimum twice a month range proficiency firing?

5) who is providing and paying for the service weapon(s) for the officer?

Make them understand that this is a continuing and higher expense that they realize. Handgun expertise is difficult to attain and easy to lose without constant practice. This is why most cops are piss poor shots who hit bystanders all too often.

And remind them that these bystanders are their kids.

I am going to the board of education meeting for the school district I am in tomorrow. I am going because the district has decided to hire an armed resource officer. I sent an email because I could not attend last time due to personal reasons. I am against the armed guard thing.
I have only received one response from a board member a month later. And the school board is pretty much going ahead with this asinine idea.
I live in northern NY. By Canada border and the akwasasne mohawk reservation.
Because republican I am only allowed 3 minutes to speak.
Thoughts my friends because I would like to go in there and call them out

Research the number of murders or other crimes in your school.

Find out how much this would cost the school district versus using that money for education, and ask they make the fiscally conservative choice for education.

My first job (1967-73) was delivering the Pittsburgh Post Gazette in the morning and the Pittsburgh Press in the afternoon and on Sundays.

If everybody paid me I would make $1.85 a week from both routes. Rarely made that since people loved to stiff me out of the 42¢ they were supposed to pay each week.

Delivered papers for six years. People would call home while I was delivering papers and yell about not getting the paper yet. The calls would start around 530 in the morning and 3 in the afternoon even though I didn’t get out of school until 332.

When I gave up the routes, they were split among 4 kids and all of them quit within a couple weeks. People would call and beg me to come back and deliver. Mom said, “Joe’s at Pitt. He’s not coming back here to deliver papers, get on the bus and hopefully get to class on time”.

Kurt Vonnegut was right when he said that paper routes were a royal screwing!

Gillibrand on Maddow this evening. First time I’ve really heard her speak. I like her story and the explanation of how she went from being a Blue Dog to being fairly progressive.

That really needs to be a meme. What does X look like and then Tucker with the usual shit sandwich eating scowl.

It’s gotta be an LGF meme tool. That lower-third graphic is a standard Century Gothic-style font, if I’m not mistaken.

Good. Rachael Denhollander, one of Nasser’s victims, has been really up in Engler’s grill about the way the young women have been seen/treated by him.

Bloom County actually ended in 1989 by transplanting Trump’s brain into the body of Bill the Cat; Trump then fired everyone and sold the comic strip setting for development.

The way Schatz, Murphy and Schumer are here tonight should lend a lot of hope. They’re simultaneously having fun together on Twitter and at the same time advancing their narrative while giving Cardi B one hell of a signal boost.

As much as it is surprising to see Sen. Schumer have a renewed sense of fortitude, it’s also starting to rub off on his colleagues. Not that Schatz and Murphy weren’t resolute and outspoken before, but together as a group?
