The only reason this payoff from Koch to Ryan isn’t considered corrupt quid-pro-quo under the law is that rich pig-fuckers like the Koch brothers have had their political hirelings write the laws that way.

Fantasy time: Muller, being the paragon of unassailable virtue everyone says he is, steps forward and releases the report himself after watching the bullshit Barr has been doing all week.

Key word there is “fantasy”. In my darker moments, Muller is a typical Republican and puts party and power before country, and has set up the report so that with Barr’s help, Trump skates.

Part of this driven by the fucking “Bob Muller is a saint” narrative that keeps getting rammed down everyone’s throats. Similar to the “If you see a person in uniform, you aren’t a True American™ unless you immediately fall down and worship them” crap I hear all the time.

Really rubs me the wrong way.

Yes, this is often cited as “predictive programming”. Conspiracy theorists believe this was one of many ways the government helped prepare us for the 9/11 attack they knew were coming (because they planned it).

Tom Clancy certainly imagined it; the last chapter of Debt of Honor (1994) and the opening chapter of Executive Orders (1996) has a fully-fueled jumbo jet being deliberately crashed into the capitol on State of the Union night…

That’s how Jack Ryan becomes president, he gets to appoint 7 Supremes, an almost all-new Cabinet, there’s no Congress for awhile until the governors can appoint a bunch of replacement senators and schedule immediate congressional elections….

Stringer, a Republican from Prescott, abruptly resigned on March 27. Two days later, the Ethics Committee released a police report that revealed that he was arrested in 1983 on suspicion of paying two children to have sex with him.

The Baltimore police report states Stringer was accused of paying two boys under the age of 15 for sex. One boy had a developmental disability, according to the report.

Rosemary Agneessens, a leader with the Prescott Education Advocacy Council, told investigators about comments Stringer made in the past few years regarding an internship where he helped English Language Learning students in third and fourth grade.

She said she was shocked when Stringer said, “I like being a daddy figure for the little girls when they sit on my lap.”

I’ve instigated(?) two rescues in my life because I was the only person to see a signal flare. Once in SF bay, and once in the Sierra. Both times I thought about how brief that signal flare was visible. The sierra rescue happened when the hiker popped the flare as the helicopter was heading directly away from him and they didn’t see it. We were climbing Horsetail Falls and saw it and waved the helicopter back and pointed to the hiker on the ridge above us. The flare was up for maybe 3 seconds.

Maybe she hoped to gain access to Mar-a-Lago’s network somehow to get some advantageous intel for her investment company. OTOH, she knows her way around the US judicial system pretty well, so maybe she’s a distraction from the real espionage going on.

scuba divers are ‘encouraged’ to carry whistles (for use on the surface)

when a dive boat’s engines are underway, looking for a ‘missing’ diver, you can’t hear anything, not even an Acme Thunderer

these days they do make air horns that attach to one of your air hoses. i still wouldnt rely on one.

as for visual sightings, assuming clear and mostly calm conditions, you cant easily see their tiny heads bobbing in the water between even light swells

you need a scuba sausage to get some height, or even waving your fin can help if its got some color

I know some of you are lukewarm about the latest Star Trek series, but there is a notable link between it and TOS in episode 12.

Pike holds a “time crystal” in his hands and sees the accident that will put him in the mobile life support unit we see in “The Menagerie.” Warned that taking possession of the crystal will seal his fate, Pike chooses to accept his fate.

The USS Enterprise will make an appearance in the next episode.

Incidentally, it’s been renewed for a third season.

this is starting to get nutso

Another woman accuses Biden of encroaching on personal space

“‘encroaching on personal space” is now an op-ed reportable thing? really?

and this from the story:

Karasek had just appeared onstage at the Academy Awards alongside survivors of sexual assault and advocates while Lady Gaga performed a song from a documentary about assault on college campuses. Biden had introduced the group, and Karasek wrote that afterward she told him the story of a woman who days before had died by suicide after being sexually assaulted.

In response to her story, Karasek wrote, Biden “leaned down, took my hands and put his forehead to mine.”

“I was taken aback. I averted my eyes, hoping my body language could shorten the interaction. I didn’t think he was going to kiss me, but it felt like if I met his eyes, it wasn’t out of the question, either,” she continued. “It was unwelcome, uncomfortable and strange. At the same time, I was glad to convey this serious message to him, glad it seemed to resonate with him.”

sorry, i dont see this at all
you thought he might kiss you? really? in the circumstances you just described? really really?

imo the man was showing empathy, commiserating. yeah, maybe in a way you didnt quite like.

how do you make this sexual and inappropriate? at best it’s some kind of ‘unwanted’ thing.

Brenda Spencer’s name is largely forgotten now. But that is not true of her shocking explanation for the mass shooting — for it inspired Bob Geldof, lead singer of the Boomtown Rats, to write I Don’t Like Mondays after he read a report of the tragedy.

News reports from 1979 show teachers and police officers assisting school children in evacuating the elementary school as a six-hour standoff ensues +5
News reports from 1979 show teachers and police officers assisting school children in evacuating the elementary school as a six-hour standoff ensues

The song became No 1 in the UK singles chart and was backed by an eerie video in which the band performed the piano ballad to a classroom of young children.

Its chorus of ‘I don’t like Mondays, I want to shoot the whole day down’, along with lines such as ‘The silicon chip inside her head gets switched to overload’ refer specifically to the twisted mind of Brenda Spencer.

The song never mentions her name and Geldof admitted that most fans thought it was about how having a hangover made Mondays unbearable. But the link with the San Diego shooting was soon spotted by Spencer herself.

‘She wrote to me saying she was glad she’d done it because I’d made her famous,’ Geldof said years later. ‘Which is not a good thing to live with.’

He added: ‘Not liking Mondays as a reason for doing somebody in is a bit strange. It was the perfect senseless act and this was the perfect senseless reason for doing it.’

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. Trump’s still railing on and on about the Mueller report that exonerates him, which is a tell that it does nothing of the sort. He’s absolutely afraid of the full contents being released because it would reveal all kinds of criminal misconduct and impeachable offenses that fall short of the evidenciary standard of a conviction (beyond a reasonable doubt). But it’s more than enough to impeach and remove from office - as obstruction is clearly an impeachable offense.

Meanwhile, Democrats continue to see more people throw their hat in the ring if only for self-gratification as they have no chance of success. With that in mind, here’s my updated list (dropping out those who have decided against running).

Tier One: Harris, Booker, Warren, Gillibrand, Castro, Klobuchar (no order ranking yet)
Tier Two: Beto, Inslee, Buttigieg, Hickenlooper
Tier Three: McAuliffe, Delaney, Yang
Tier Four: Biden, Ryan, Williamson
Tier Five (don’t just go away.. show us the tax returns first): Bernie, Tulsi.

There is enough evidence out there without the report to impeach him on conflict of interest charges as well as gross & threatening violations of national security and of the Emoluments Clause.

The Mueller Report will only add to the obvious reasons, the only thing that will motivate the GOP to act is to avoid being seen as complicit or even as partners in an organized crime syndicate.

What appears to have happened: Border Patrol accurately described the project in early 2018 as long-planned replacement fence, then Trump’s team decided in late 2018, having not built any new wall, that it was going to brand replacement fence as his wall, so a plaque went up.

Is Trump planning a trip to Iwo Jima to replant the flag there?

We saw this coming the moment he started talking “artistically designed slats” and accusing Dems of lying about his promises to build a concrete wall. He’s insisted for months that his “wall” is already being built, despite DHS saying not a single foot of such has even started construction. That he’s slapped his name on it now will make it official in the minds of his wingnut base that he has “won,” he’s got his “wall” started, and the Dems are standing in the way of his getting it finished.

You might want to add Senator Michael Bennet in your rankings. Pretty sure he is going to run. I expect him to announce for sure at any time.

Interesting bit here…

The memo implicates Ivanka Trump in the negotiations, stating that she knew Cohen gave false testimony to Congress. According to the memo, he told the Intelligence committees that in late 2015 the president’s daughter forwarded him “an email from the wife of a former Russian weight-lifting champion about Ivanka sponsoring a health spa at the top of the Moscow Trump Tower.” BuzzFeed News first reported that in November 2015, Ivanka Trump put Cohen in touch with the weightlifter, a Russian Olympian named Dmitry Klokov who offered to introduce Trump to President Vladimir Putin to facilitate the Moscow tower project.

So no direct collusion between DT personally and the Russian government, but plenty of evidence of collusion between people close to both.

Trump probably thinks he has plausible deniability when he said he never dealt with Russians.

But everyone around him and on the campaign, etc. dealt with the Russians or Russian connections that added further deniability.

But all that means is conspiracy.

I’m beginning to edge away from conspiracy and look at another crime listed under impeachment that would seem to be easier to prove: Bribery. It seems fairly clear that what happened was Donny was made an offer: Russian help influencing the election in exchange for payment to be discussed after the end of the election. If Hillary had won, she’d be weakened by the rodent copulation campaign and Vlad would help Donny get Trump Tower Moscow built. But if Donny won, then the payment would be sanctions relief.

Wasn’t a big fan of Nirvana so while i was sad for him, for his wife & daughter, I wasn’t as busted up as some. I lived less than a mile from Butch Vigg’s studio at the time though; wish I’d taken advantage of that.

About a month? month and a half? after the, suicide though, Courtney Love and Hole performed in Madison. Verruca Salt opened. Insane - literally insane - show that night. Between the drugs and the grief, I can’t imagine how she was functioning but most of it was an amazing and intense show up until it totally went off the rails at the end. She started stripping out of her dress, pulled a guy up out of the mosh to dance with, then accused him of taking her dress off and trying hard to start a bar fight. At that point her band pulled her back into the dressing room and IIRC VS played a short set just to calm things down and the owners shut the club down for the night. Def the most punk night of the 90’s for me O_o

Motel 6 reached a $12 million settlement with Washington state on Thursday after prosecutors said the chain violated privacy rights by giving information to immigration officials that sometimes led to the detainment or deportation of former guests.

Attorney General Bob Ferguson said that the company improperly provided U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents with “Latino-sounding” names of tens of thousands of hotel guests for two years. Some of those guests later were detained or deported as a result of those targeted investigations.

“Motel 6’s actions tore families apart and violated the privacy rights of tens of thousands of Washingtonians,” Ferguson said in a statement. “Our resolution holds Motel 6 accountable for illegally handing over guests’ private information without a warrant.”

Motel 6 can fuck right off. I am NOT Latino but my real last name definitely sounds Latino to people who don’t know any better (it’s actually European), so I probably would have been targeted had my name ended up one of those lists.

Commenters on Fox News are of course thrilled that Motel 6 is doing this.

Brenda Spencer’s name is largely forgotten now. But that is not true of her shocking explanation for the mass shooting — for it inspired Bob Geldof, lead singer of the Boomtown Rats, to write I Don’t Like Mondays after he read a report of the tragedy.

I saw the Boomtown Rats play at a bar in Minneapolis called Jay’s Longhorn. For their final encore, Geldof and the piano player (Johnnie Fingers) came out to perform ‘I Don’t Like Mondays’ Bob said that they’d just written the song and the whole band didn’t know it yet. It may have been the first time it was ever performed.

Trump can convincingly claim that he was totally unaware of any wrongdoing…

Which, disgracefully, he can, and probably will, get away with. I mean, it may even be true: Donald Trump seems to be “unaware” of a great many things. To me, it means little, though: that a Presidential campaign could be rotten with under-the-table foreign influence and shady dealings over stolen data is scandal enough - even if one can accept that the candidate himself was out-of-the-loop* - it’s still a terrible verdict on their judgement that they wouldn’t police their organization better. But of course, it being Trump: he didn’t, they didn’t, and apparently decided to simply rely on denialist bluster to avoid the appearance of responsibility. And sadly, in the All-About-ME!!!! Administration, in the absence of smoking-gun/bloody-dagger-with-fingerprints-level of evidence, as long as that personal involvement can’t be absolutely proven, King Orangeanus is going to skate.

So the initial estimate for March job creation numbers is 196,000, about average for the last nine years, and February’s number was revised upward from 20k to 33k, so it looks like that was just a statistical blip and not a sign of a slow down in job creation. Over the last 12 months wages have gone up only 3.2%, indicating that we still don’t have any shortage of labor. This isn’t surprising, because the employment population ratio for prime age workers is still below 80%. The economy sustained a ratio of over 80% for five years from 1996-2001, and prime age adults today have more education and fewer children than then, so we should be able to achieve and sustain an even higher employment ratio now. The Fed is making the right decision to stop raising interest rates since inflation is still muted and it looks like a global economic slowdown is brewing.

Essentially the Tom Clancy dream event to allow the creation of a conservative dictatorship/oligarchy.

I forget at what point in reading the novels, probably around _Rainbow 6_, I realized that they were all variations of conservative wet dreams coming true for the hero and US government. Liberal nuts or obstructionists get their comeuppance, various enemy factions (drug lords, terrorists, communists, non-USA industrialists) are defeated and shown to be inferior. And so forth.

re: #150 Feline Fearless Leader

Essentially the Tom Clancy dream event to allow the creation of a conservative dictatorship/oligarchy.

I forget at what point in reading the novels, probably around _Rainbow 6_, I realized that they were all variations of conservative wet dreams coming true for the hero and US government. Liberal nuts or obstructionists get their comeuppance, various enemy factions (drug lords, terrorists, communists, non-USA industrialists) are defeated and shown to be inferior. And so forth.

I had stopped reading him long before that for an even simpler reason - in his books everything always works right the first time and never fails. Anyone who has dealt with military equipment knows better. That pushed them off to silly fantasy land and I never looked back.

I doubt it. Trump is hated all over and after what comes out, especially once he’s out of office and can no longer bully people into staying silent, will make it worse. He better hope that Putin is still around, or Putin’s successor feels generous. He’s going to have to live off his Presidential Pension (maybe they can’t seize that) and the charity of some oligarch.

I wish I could agree with you, but examining Donald Trump’s whole career, the one business skill he has consistently exhibited is the knack of being able to rake off and squirrel away large sums of money from his “deals” - successful or otherwise. And which are probably parked in various untouchable* accounts.
Barring his falling victim to a serious and effective campaign of asset-stripping (hugely desirable but probably unlikely), it’s likely The Donald’s “golden years” will, disgracefully, indeed be golden.

*untouchable by authorities, that is: I’m sure they’ll be quite touchable by Trump and/or his family….

Wingnut porn. That’s where I stopped reading Clancy.

Ok, so last week, Billboard removed Lil Nas X’s song “Old Town Road,” a kind of a country trap song, from the top country chart, because “not country enough.” There was an uproar, lotta discussion about whether it was racism or simply annoyance that this 19 YO rapper came out of Atlanta, TikTok and YouTube instead of through the country gatekeepers in Nashville.

npr.org

Last night, Little Nas X dropped a remix with Billy Ray Cyrus (who is on record opposing what Billboard did) and Billboard does this:

Of course Twitter is giving Billboard the serious side eye.

Acvording to Wikipedia, “Old Town Road” would have peaked at number 1 this week except for Billboard’s decision that it wasn’t country enough.

It’s an interesting song and I think Billboard was wrong.

The top 0.5 percent in income account for fully a fifth of all the underreported income.

Adjusted for inflation, that’s more than $50 billion each year in unpaid taxes.

That’s why it’s important to audit the ultrawealthy:

Their tax returns are so complicated it takes a team of real experts time to decipher what they’ve done. With the GOP in power, we are increasingly living in a feudal state where as Leona Helmsley said : “We don’t pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes.”

Estate taxes need to be increased, though not to their original punitive level.

Estate taxes need to be increased, though not to their original punitive level.

The GOP has hamstrung IRS enforcement, culling their ranks so that they don’t have the ability to conduct audits as frequently as they did in prior years.

0.5% of all returns got flagged for some form of audit/examination in FY 2017. Returns with AGI over 10 million saw 15% flagged for examination, while those making under $25k were flagged in under 1% of the cases.

In more than a few cases for lower income levels, the issues are discovered by matching W2 and 1099/1098 forms reported by financial institutions and employers with the income being reported by the taxpayer. Mismatches can result in corrective actions.

But with the superwealthy, most of their income comes from other sources and it’s easier to obscure the income.

we’re talking in generalizations here of course

- oh yes, they may be voluminous and require a lot of time to sift through - especially with pass through entities
- and they are not always the kind that matching programs will be effective on

- though i’d guess quite a lot of high end returns are not all that complicated.

- the actual tax issues, unless you’re in the fringes or taking a weird position, are not that hard for a reasonably well versed agent or cpa to understand

what is likely not happening is the allocation of time for a detailed look at the pass through entities. that’s where the stuff gets buried.

and the demand for documentation - prove it or lose it. look how easily trump manufactured likely fake contributions to his own foundation. all it took was some digging.

re: #232 retired cynic

Well, while this is certainly true for the hardcore Trump “base” (invincibly armored in self-righteous ignorance) that base is (AFAICT, and fervently hope) far from a majority in the country as a whole. And if one thinks about what should be the principal goal of the 2020 General Election - i.e. getting the fuck rid of Donald Trump and as many other Republicans as possible - the target electorate is likely to be at the fringes of The Donald’s 2016 margins: i.e. voters who are going to be disappointed/disgusted with the current Administration, and who will be susceptible to a campaign message from an “acceptable” Democrat. Not just nominal “Republicans”, but also members of the largest political bloc, the Apathetics. And, IMO, harping on the racism/nativism/general prejudice of the Trump Admin and its supporters - however accurate that assessment might be, isn’t a winning strategy. If only because it can be (and probably will be) spun as mere insult from sneery “elitists”. Buttigieg is wrong, IMO, in trying to cast “economic anxiety” as the sole mover of pro-Trump sentiments, but it IS an actual factor: the key, I think, is going to be making sure the public knows/feels that Trump and his incompetent gang’s policies aren’t going to fix it.

With the distances involved in the Middle East, futzing with the GPS coordinates could mean instead of hitting Tehran, you’re hitting Baghdad instead. Or Tel Aviv. Or Amman. Or Kirkuk.

That the jamming was discovered in northern Scandinavia was for the most part because the participants of the exercise had ECCM as one of the training points.

Why are we nuancing it? This is why:

“I know what it feels like to have things written about you, things said about you that are not true,” said Trump. “There’s very little accountability these days, with social media on a lot of networks and a lot of news outlets.”

“I don’t know Joe Biden personally, I’ve never met him, I don’t really know his character, but he’s been in the public eye, Sandra, for so long, that for all of a sudden, the timing of this, it just seems very convenient,” she went on. “If I were already in the race for the 2020 Democrat nomination, I probably would not like to run against Joe Biden, so who knows why this came up now?”

“I know what it’s like, and our family knows what it’s like better than anyone, to have things said about you and you be accused of things, and maybe it’s not the full truth,” Trump repeated.

this is black letter law. prepare to die.

- the “Administration” has got nothing to do with this
- nor does ‘the president’ have any latitude or authority
- nor does ‘citizen trump’

it’s crystal clear:

the Secretary shall furnish such committee with any return or return information specified in such request

further he wasnt president for all those years so they arent even all “the president’s” tax returns
and in any event, the admin can’t be defending / arguing for a private citizen

the only issue is whether the committee must be in closed session or not because the individual taxpayer can be identified

The Atlantic - ‘Dozens’ of Whistle-Blowers Are Secretly Cooperating With House Democrats

Tricia Newbold set an important mark when she became the first official currently serving in Donald Trump’s White House to take accusations of wrongdoing to Congress—and to put her name publicly behind them.

But Democrats on Capitol Hill say that beyond Newbold, a small army of whistle-blowers from across the government has been working in secret with the House Oversight Committee to report alleged malfeasance inside the Trump administration. Lawmakers and aides are reluctant to discuss information they have gleaned from anonymous government tipsters in detail. But the list of whistle-blowers who either currently or previously worked in the Trump administration, or who worked closely with the administration, numbers in the “dozens,” according to a senior aide from the committee now led by Democratic Representative Elijah Cummings of Maryland.

Our country is full. Our area is full.

Send them to Alaska, Wyoming, Montana, North Dakota and South Dakota—population density per sq. mi, respectively—1, 6, 7, 10 and 11.

Problem solved!

No… what Trump means is that the white guys have decided that they can’t take any more nonwhites coming here, so go away.

The states you’ve suggested are among the highest in white demographics, so would be least interested in taking in nonwhites seeking asylum.

Heck, Texas has a population density of 104 people per square mile. Some counties have less than 1 person per square mile in Texas. That compares with NJ, which has a population density of… 1,200 per square mile.

I live in Manhattan (not KS) - which has a population density just short of 73,000 per square mile, and I think there would still be room for some more immigrants here (if they’re not here already).

no ‘purpose’ or ‘intent’ is necessary for two reasons.

And like I said yesterday they already have a baked in legitimate legislative purpose for demanding the returns. When Trump was pushing the GOP tax cuts he publicly stated that he personally was going to be a big loser under it and that the law was going to make his taxes go up. All the Dems need to say is that they want to repeal that tax cut and need to know if Trump was lying to the American people in order to secure a financial benefit for himself.

So, something to think about: while my interest in lotteries may be some late-age quirk of my mostly-forgotten mathematics classes, there is a movement about which you may need to know and which gets too little coverage.

Among the movers and shakers in entertainment, there is a move to make gambling more widely legal. There is interest in sports betting being legal (like in many places, e.g., the UK). The usual billionaires are involved, because they will be the ones setting up the gambling corporations.

And they will make billions more.

So if you are anti-gambling (and I think there is much to worry about in regards to gambling addiction and such), it might be something that you will be concerned about.

Even if you aren’t anti-gambling, many of your least favorite people will be much richer and because they will be involved in politics that means more marginal-to-society activities will be part of the pay-to-play scheme into which our society is falling.

Kurt Cobain and I were born on the same day of the same year and we were/are both bipolar. At the time of his death people were still trying to tell me i had an, “artistic temperament” and nothing was really wrong with me. Nirvana’s music reflected what was going on in my head and so did Kurt Cobain. As cliched as it is, I was devastated when he died.

Took 5 more years for me to be properly diagnosed and i got pumped full of anti-psychotics and Lithium, quickly. I was never suicidal but damn, I understand how people get there. Lithium saved my life, but it’s a bitch of a medication.

I wish it was this easy, I really do:

I’m pretty sure that doesn’t work. Many have tried and it just doesn’t work. It just doesn’t.

Now there might (meaning remote chance) be that the lottery balls come out not at random but under the influence of one or more beings. Certainly many of the state lotteries pretend so, as their webpages are full about “believing”.

So I wonder if everyone played the same numbers, as in exact same tickets, and everyone believed the draw would happen as such, if indeed that draw would end up being what the mass hoped?

Here is a letter written by one of the measles victims. YOU CAN GET MEASLES EVEN IF YOU WERE VACCINATED AS A CHILD BUT DID NOT RECEIVE A BOOSTER AS AN ADULT!

We have a terrible outbreak of measles in Detroit and want to help protect your city. PLEASE PLEASE take this crisis very seriously and use your platform to literally save lives. Measles in adults can cause pneumonia, blindness, deafness, heart disease and even death.

Three weeks ago we had a visitor with measles who traveled through Detroit. TWENTY people, ALL IMMUNIZED, caught it from that one individual! Without knowing, we all spread it and now we face a second even larger wave. It takes 7-12 days after initial exposure for the virus to take hold and become active (in some people). I was one of the people in the first wave of twenty and I gave it to my immunized wife and ten-year-old and they are a part of the new even larger wave. I started having symptoms two weeks ago and, although I’m recovered from measles, I still have residual effects that people don’t always consider: I am still VERY WEAK, have bronchitis, and my cornea was injured so my vision is very blurry. And I’m going crazy watching this horror play out. My Purim seuda consisted of weak tea and crackers, and I shudder to think of all those who had active viruses who went to megilla reading, Purim celebrations and distributed shalach manos.

WHAT YOU SHOULD DO
a) Those born from 1957-1985 should get re-tested for immunity and if need be re-immunized for measles. It takes about five minutes at your local health center or doctor’s office. (It wasn’t standard to get 2 MMR shots till 1985. Many born before then probably received only one and that is not enough, as the vaccine wasn’t perfected until the mid 70s.)
b) If you have ANY flu/virus symptoms, assume it’s measles until you rule that out (with a healthcare professional)! The contagion factor is what is overwhelming our city

FOUR FACTS
1) For the FOUR FIRST DAYS after the virus is active, a person might not know he/she is infected, and for the first THREE days, that person may feel relatively good and go out into the community. There lies the problem. Every building that person enters, wherever the person goes, he/she leaves the virus in the air for TWO HOURS.
2) Even people with full immunization have a 3% chance of getting it when exposed.
3) For the first four days, measles appears like a regular virus. Treat any virus symptom as measles until this is brought under control. .
4) People born before 1957 are presumed to have had measles and are immune but we had one case of a 65 year old man who got the measles too.

_____________________________

LAST NIGHT’S UPDATE:

I just spoke to the head nurse at the county health department. She said they anticipate the next wave will be much lighter because of mass immunization. 2000 immunizations were recently given in the Detroit frum community to persons born between 1957-85 before they had exposure.

That’s the value of education.

One person infected 20 uneducated. Those 20 hopefully will have less impact because of education and immunization.

Let’s get the word out and organize a mass global education and immunization program in every city coast to coast.

Let’s get into action to get every single person born between 1957-85 immunized before Pesach. The Orthodox community is particularly vulnerable because of frequent travel and Shul attendance. Everyone needs to be educated not to go to Shul or any public place if they have virus symptoms. (Aching or temperature). For the first four days, a person with measles will not know they have it but will be contagious and leave the virus airborne for two hours in any building they enter.

Didn’t kill him - but she had been bugging the shit out of him. To be fair, he needed to go to the rehab in Venice that he eventually just broke out of. Then again, Courtney was a hot mess - she was holed up in the Peninsula Hotel (where a friend of mine was a security guard), and had shot up a mix of heroin and Valium, and had to be taken to the nearby Century City Hospital when that went wrong and she started convulsing.

They left behind a trashed hotel room and a whole bunch of cassette tapes of songs they had been working on together. I have one of the cassettes out in my garage. Wonder if anyone would want “Unreleased Kurt Cobain Demos”?
