Their idea of suppression is they have to share the planet with people who don’t look like them. They love to rag on liberals for “safe spaces” but the right wing political sphere is one giant safe space of perceptually angry rage babies.

I just got back from my appointment with the Atomic Tit-smasher 3000.

Good news. I don’t have male breast cancer (where “male” equals Y-chromosome).

Bad news. I have gynecomastia (directly caused by elevated estrogen, which can also be caused by cancer, or by drug reaction - it’s not the second one).

That information from the hospital in Scottsbluff will go back to the VA, where they will continue pursuing a diagnosis.

I’m still going to write that article later, since I went through all the motions of being diagnosed

It’s an argument I’ve been making for a long time before this article came out.

The entirety of Movement Conservatism’s media outlets, from blogs to the National Review to FOX seem to exist to put conservative and libertarian leaning people through their version of Harry Potter’s sorting hat. The results of that sorting are to come up with the most extreme people to radicalise others.

The whole endeavour is a huge propaganda mill.

re: #60 Unshaken Defiance

So that’s good news right? Even if an indirect cancer indication?

Yes.

The immediate diagnosis is elevated estrogen levels. That can be caused by greater production of estrogen or lesser production of testosterone. (Men normally produce estrogen in small amounts, but it is overwhelmed by testosterone production. If the first goes up or the second goes down, then the imbalance can cause the condition.)

Those can be caused by certain prescription medications (none of which I take) for epilepsy or hormone therapy (such as shrinking the prostate gland or for certain types of stomach trouble).

It can also be caused by certain types of cancers (brain, testicular, liver, or pancreatic) which can change hormone levels. Those don’t seem likely, but the VA will move to rule those out.

White male privilege is getting to be called a “policy wonk” when you very publicly, as a deliberate strategy, have refused to release even one single policy proposal.

Recall that Paul Ryan had a widespread reputation as a policy wonk even though he never proposed policies that helped anyone other than the wealthy or policies that addressed the budget deficit.

I think we also have to remember that most people throughout our history have never really lived in the democracy our constitution described, by choice. Whites have used skin color to restrict others, even if it meant they were suffering. Christians have used power against women, minorities, gays, and others. Think of the power the local sheriff has had. Far too many have given up some of their power to stick it to others.

All these bills are meaningless, using a made-up FOX term for “evul librul cities.”

There is no requirement for a local police department to enforce federal laws.

As Marx once wrote, “the truest socialism is the uncritical embrace of sleazy authoritarian fixers covering up crimes committed by a cross between George Wallace and Calvin Coolidge.”

Which Marx wrote that? My guess is that it had to have been Groucho, because Karl was long dead before George Wallace and Calvin Coolidge were born.

But I could be wrong. It might have been Harpo, Chico or Beppo.

I took it as a parody statement, mocking Glenn Greenwald. I doubt if there were a single Marx who actually asserted anything close to that.

Good thread for anybody who remembers Katie McHugh and read Rosie Gray’s piece on her. I don’t really have a takeaway beyond the rather banal “racism is toxic,” which we already knew.

I have a great deal of sympathy for people who are disappointed by wanting things most people get that they will never have. There’s lots of ways that can happen, and the details are usually boring.

That sympathy ends the moment this disappointment is weaponized into all-consuming resentment.

Good riddance, racist piece of shit.

If her Twitter feed was private, I can imagine she started getting threats and such from her former friends. That seems to be the case for anyone who tries to leave a cult.

Nuking her Twitter account might have been the only way to deal with it. As Buzzfeed noted in the interview, she’s in hiding.

As Buzzfeed noted in the interview, she’s in hiding.

She made her bed and lies in it. The only people who are actively sending her death threats are the nazis she traveled with, and they want to kill her because she’s no longer one of them.

She can crawl in a cave for all I care. Thing is, she’ll go back to her old ways. Guaranteed. She’s a nazi.
