Trump Declares Himself Above the Law; Says He’d Accept Foreign Help in the Election and Wouldn’t Tell the FBI

“The FBI Director is wrong”

Of course it’s not surprising any more, nothing that comes out of Donald Trump’s mouth is, but “stunning” may still apply — and he’s never been more brazen than this. Quite obviously, he feels he’s untouchable.

Maybe somebody should call Nancy Pelosi. On the red phone.

Modified quote from the “Chernobyl” miniseries.
“What does that mean? No one knows. It doesn’t matter. What does matter is that, to them, justice was done. Because, you see, to them, a just world is a sane world. There was nothing sane about Trump. What happened then, what happened after, even the good we did, all of it… all of it, madness. Well, I’ve given you everything I know. They’ll deny it, of course. They always do. I know you’ll try your best.”

I’d say that it’s a pretty safe bet that the House and Senate Democrats are keeping an exhaustive list of articles. With footnotes. It must exist.

Maybe Nancy should flash a piece of paper to the press and announce that it’s a secret list of impeachment charges, and you can’t see it…

Chicano Batman - Freedom Is Free (Official Video)
Nobody likes you
Nobody cares
Nobody wants you
Nobody cares
To extend a greeting aid
Connecting lands
Life is just a jaded game to them
They won’t give it a chance
But you know when I know
That the galaxies are all around us
And life will flow on as long as the grass grows and the water runs
And while I’m here on earth I’ll rejoice in this world
Cause
Freedom is free
Freedom is free
And you can’t take that away from me
You got your guns up on display
But you can’t control how I feel, no way
Cause
Freedom is free
Freedom is free
And you can’t take that away from nobody
Because the ocean is all around us
And life will flow on as long as there are ripples on the waves and sunrays from the sun
And while I’m here on earth I’ll rejoice in this world
Cause
Freedom is free
Freedom is free
And you can’t take that away from me
You got your guns up on display
But you can’t control how I feel, no way
Cause
Freedom is free
And that’s the way it’s always gonna be
Freedom is free
Cause no amount of negativity can put a dent in me
Freedom is free
Freedom is free
Freedom is free

Marianne Williamson

Williamson dropped out of college her junior year in 1973 and moved to New York City, intending to pursue a career as a cabaret singer.

In 1979, after delving into A Course in Miracles, she returned to Houston, where she ran a combination metaphysical bookstore and coffeeshop.

In 1983 she moved to Los Angeles. She began regularly lecturing on A Course in Miracles in Los Angeles and New York City, and eventually in other cities in the U.S. and Europe as well.

She published her first book, A Return to Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, in 1992.

re: #122 Shiplord Kirel, Friend of Moose and Squirrel

A Course in Miracles.

The underlying premise of the work is the teaching that the greatest “miracle” that one may achieve in one’s life is the act of simply gaining a full “awareness of love’s presence” in one’s own life.
The author claimed that the book had been dictated to her word for word via “inner dictation” which came from Jesus.

Stay home if you want next year. If this fucker gets re-elected, you will share the blame in that happening.

We’re pissed off at Trump for saying he’d accept the info from (hostile) foreign sources, make no effort to investigate if it’s true or not, he’d use it in the campaign and not call the FBI.

Hillary paid for oppo research that came partly from a foreign person (of an allied nation), passed it along to the FBI, and didn’t use it in the campaign (made sure none of it was released publicly until after the election).

So… she did sort of the exact opposite of what we’re pissed off about him saying he’d do.

as we were discussing yesterday w/r/t mcconnell and his constitutional obligations

- one of his jobs is setting the legislative agenda
- i’d argue that his sitting on everything is, in fact, keeping us from having a legislative agenda

- do we really want to argue that having no agenda is an agenda?
- that zero is a number?
sure it is. of sorts. still we all know that’s not what anybody meant when they wrote the thing. congress was supposed to do a job - process it, debate it, argue it, vote on it.. not merely show up, block everything, and collect a paycheck because ‘we dont like anything the other house has done’.

- i think its post hoc rationalizing - “sure we can read the constitution like that”
- though when in the past would anyone have come up with that interpretation?
- it’s perverted pretzel logic, trying to rationalize something that can’t be

re: #206 DangerMan

as we were discussing yesterday w/r/t mcconnell and his constitutional obligations

That interpretation fails because the constitution doesn’t say things like “And on the Thursday of the Sixth month, the Senate Shall name a Post Office.” It is the job of the legislators to address issues of the United States, including oversight of the president. And that is where McConnell is failing to do his job. And it’s because of the second part that we are currently in trouble.

I think one of our pipsqueak “allies” in the Gulf is behind this. Divers attaching limpet mines in port is gangster stuff, ridiculously unconvincing as well as risky. There is no reason at all the Iranians would do it even if they did want to attack. We have actual Russian torpedoes and sea mines like the ones the Iranians use. My issue with any kind of alternate burgers is texture - if it doesn’t chew like meat, I can’t eat it.

Beyond Burgers are the closest in texture to beef, and they’re pretty tasty to boot. How they did it with a mixture of beets and peas is a mystery, but I find them edible.

My wife is always looking for substitutes that I’ll eat every once in a while. Beyond Burgers pass the test for beef, and she buys Quorn as a chicken substitute. That is also very similar in texture to chicken.

People have been making that promise for a long time. Biden really isn’t doing anything new. It’s always been a thing to try to cure. But I’d rather decide to throw money at curing as many types of cancer as we can rather than throwing it at how many rich people we can make richer.

I posted that tweet as a follow up to my posts I did after Biden made that remark.

To summarize (me): The problem in the US today in regards to how we tackle cancer is not that we lack research, but that we ration health care by price.

I’m hoping that at least a few of the Democratic candidates will be able to articulate that.

For me, it is completely off my diet no matter, as would all vegan burger type stuff, as it is always soy based which is high in carbs.

I will stick with what I am doing; meat, meat and more meat (and fish, chicken, lamb, etc., along with lots of veggies. And cheese. I love cheese. It’s working for me.

I would love to see Hadestown. I was looking at ticket prices a few weeks back, and there were some reasonable seats available. But, I guess after the Tony’s they may be getting tougher.

Oh, good morning!

I spent more than a year on various waiting lists (to no avail) trying to get my “Hamilton” tickets… I finally ended up buying a pair from a PBS fundraiser. I paid way more than face value, but they were excellent seats, supported a cause I believe in, and the beyond-face-value portion of the price was tax-deductible and also gave me a year’s beyond-the-paywall access to older PBS programming that had fallen off the free website.

We could do a lot better if we wanted to fake an Iranian attack.

Next attack on a tanker will be using a bone saw, if you know what I mean.

Sam’s history is really sad. He was owned by a very old guy. There were five dogs there, mostly beagles. They thought he was a puppy at first, but my vet said he was several years old (they thought really old due to his teeth which always suck). The dogs lived in a small trailer while the guy lived in his truck. The kids came up from Texas to take dad down there with him.

Sam weighed 11 pounds when I got him. As an adult. He now weighs 27 pounds and he is not overweight. I assume he had to fight for his food every single day. He was very food aggressive when I got him. Now, he stands back for treats and is really good at taking them gently (where I used to have to count fingers after giving him a treat).

He is a super special dog. He is the most empathetic animal I have ever known. If any of the other dogs are unhappy, he will not let us rest until we figure out what the issue is. He jumps on us and stares at us…then the dog with the problem…then us again, over and over until we FIX IT!

Oh, and he HATES strangers and feet. He will go after strangers who try to come into his domain. And he runs away if one of our feet happens to touch him.

Saddest damn thing.

Some friends of mine have two German Shepherds. Big dogs, too. They were abused so bad by their previous owners that you can’t go near them. Occasionally, one of them will come to you and you can pet her. The other one touched my leg with her nose after we had been there for a few hours, but ran away before I could respond. Our friends say they rarely ever get to pet her - she needs a combing but they don’t even bother - and that she occasionally has seizures, which to me sound PTSD related.

I tell visitors to my place that the primary rule with the cats is let them sniff the hand first before attempting to touch them. The most social one (Chat Noir) will sniff and then chin rub the hand to indicate that pets and skritches are approved. Tuxedo Cat will sniff and then pretty much avoid or leave contact. Third Cat (Fat Cat) is the one the warning is really about since her reaction to an attempted touch without a sniff check is to wack the offender with the claws out.

No petting until I have had my morning coffee.
