So, was just playing around with the Morning Consult Trump Approval tracker and 270towin. If you divide states based on Trump’s approval rating, putting anything that is +/-5 in the undecided category, the breakdown is 301-82 for the Dem with 164 in the “swing states”. If you award all the states based on the numbers it’s 358-154 with Missouri and Georgia undecided. That’s quite a hole for Trump to start out in.

At least Trump has made his true colors abundantly clear. Now it’s up to his fellow Republicans and voters everywhere to demonstrate that racism is disqualifying, that the sentence “he’s a racist, but …” has no place in American politics.

The poll is going well too..

I don’t think the Dem nominee will approach Reagan’s ‘84 totals (58.8-40.6, 525-23), but Reagan’s ‘80 totals could be in play (50.7-41, 489-49)

I think the full impeachment process would be a whole lot more consequential than this one-day resolution to disapprove of Trump’s racism, whether or not he’s convicted in the Senate. And the Nixon administration also seemed untouchable until constant pressure forced him to realize he couldn’t continue.

In any case, if it’s important to get on the record condemning Trump’s racism, it’s even more important to try to stop him from doing any more damage, because every day that passes things are getting worse.

I also believe that Trump is getting so unstable, a real impeachment process in the House might very well enrage him enough to force his hand and make him try to do something that would make it even more obvious he has to go. When he’s under serious pressure, he can’t help blurting out self-incriminating stuff.

I agree. I’ve been more of a “let’s hold off until the investigations are done” person. But it is clear that Barr’s fat finger is on the scale, so that’s no longer an avenue. Time for impeachment hearings.

To me, the two arguments against impeachment appear critically flawed. The first argument tends to be summed up as “Impeaching him without convicting him will help his reelection chances just like they helped Clinton!” The second likewise could be summed up as “There’s no negative consequences to substituting endless investigations for impeachment.”

The first simply has no evidence to support it. While Clinton’s job approval numbers did rise, they ended up where they began when the whole process started: 61%. Meanwhile, his personal approval numbers tanked and have never really recovered, dragged down largely by his behavior in fighting not the perjury charge but the damage done to his public image. So while Republicans failed to end his presidency prematurely, they ultimately did so much damage that his legacy is one with an asterisk next to it.

As for the second, if the idea that impeachment without conviction will help because Donny will be able to say he was “acquitted/vindicated/exonerated/etc,” then what does it say when the Dems spend 2 years running seemingly endless investigations into every part of his life but turning up empty? If Mueller’s Report is brought up, the obvious question will be asked: “If it was so damning, why didn’t you do anything about it?” Meanwhile, the growing animosity over the leadership’s refusal to impeach is only going to grow, leaving more and more with the impression that their votes in 2018 were meaningless. It’s hard to convince folks to “fight” if it feels as though the people they elect aren’t going to do the same.

If it shows up on the printed census form, I intend to cross that single question out and write “Court ordered” on it.

(That’s similar to when Don’t Ask Don’t Tell was on military recruiting forms. When that law was struck down, we crossed out the question on the military application form and wrote “Court Ordered” on it.)

Jeffrey Epstein Abused Victims While Serving Time in Florida, Accuser’s Lawyer Says (Daily Beast)

Attorney Brad Edwards says a new accuser has come forward to say Epstein took advantage of work release to prey on young women.

Everywhere I look on social media, I keep seeing the faked flight log with Bill Clinton taking dozens of trips with Epstein to his private island (and yet no former secret service agent has ever come forward to mention this), and “whaddabout Bill Clinton” to deflect from Trump.

It really seems impossible for a conservative to get that child rape and trafficking is not a political thing with Democrats (while they defend Roy Moore for stalking). If evidence comes forth Bill Clinton did something illegal with Epstein, put his ass on trial.

Perhaps it’s because the Grand Old Paedophiles don’t seem to get that not everyone protects criminals.

The carrier Harry S. Truman is deploying for a third time in four years, with the latest deployment coming in the same Optimized Fleet Response Plan cycle, which Defense News sister publication Navy Times reported was about “stretching the limits” of O-FRP.

Aircraft carriers and crews are not meant to go out that often.

Reading Sanford’s Wikipedia entry, I see he is a teaching fellow at the Univ. of Chicago Institute of Politics.

The wiki’s first line is:

The Institute of Politics is an extracurricular, nonpartisan institute at the University of Chicago designed to inspire students to pursue careers in politics and public service.

So tell me, exactly, how Sanford teaching there is going to inspire public service?

Now Wikipedia’s entry itself refers to an archived entry at the Institute’s own self description on their own webpage:

The new, nonpartisan Institute of Politics at the University of Chicago is an extracurricular program designed to nurture in young people a passion for politics and public service.

At least Sanford qualifies in the “passion” department.

Truman’s problem was that the carrier scheduled for deployment (can’t remember which one) had a significantly longer maintenance period than had been planned for. Way to much maintenance had kept being delayed, so when they finally got started on her there was so much more that needed to be done. Anyway, that carrier has completed it’s maintenance period, but hasn’t even begun it’s shake down and train up cycles, and there is no feasible way to acheive those in time to meet the deployment schedule

As a, uh, former Army Aviator, I can endorse the truth of this. All through the Cold War, superior training, based on more flying hours, was a crucial factor in western air superiority. This has to be kept up continuously to provide the edge in proficiency. This is why flying officers who have been temporarily transferred to desk jobs are encouraged (through flight pay) to keep up a minimal number of flying hours. It is also why many bases have extra aircraft around.
I have a lot of hours in Hueys but I could not fly one now, even without the various frailties of age. I might eventually pick it up again, but it would take a lot of time and expense, as well as the services of a qualified instructor.

John Paul Stevens retired nine years ago.

Current Justices are John Roberts, Clarence Thomas, Samuel Alito, Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, Ruth Bader Ginsberg, Stephen Breyer, Sonya Sotomayor, and Elena Kagan.

Did that off the top of my head. And it hurts my head that many folks in my country cannot do the same.

re: #167 Shiplord Kirel, Friend of Moose and Squirrel

I’ve never been military; but even as a civilian private pilot, if you don’t do a certain number of flights, hours, and landings every 90 days your license becomes legally invalid (even though it’s still in your wallet). If you fall under investigation for any reason, they look at your logbook and can retroactively declare you unlicensed.

When will we finally be rid of this man and his evil administration? Asian Americans Call Out Pence’s Chief Of Staff For ‘Tokenizing’ Elaine Chao (Huffington Post)

Jo-Ann Yoo, executive director of the social services nonprofit Asian American Federation, told HuffPost that she initially “cringed and laughed” at Short’s rationale.

“To tokenize the one Asian woman in the President’s cabinet is further evidence of the racism perpetuated in the Trump White House,” Yoo said.

She added: “Short thinks that you can absolve yourself from racism by knowing/hiring one Asian. He is dead wrong! There is diversity in communities of color and to say one person can represent all the communities of color is ignorant and insulting.”

Rep. Judy Chu (D-Calif.), chair of the Congressional Asian Pacific American Caucus, echoed many of Yoo’s thoughts. In a statement to HuffPost, Chu wrote that the president’s relationship with Chao doesn’t excuse his racist tweets.

″’Go back to your home’ is an unambiguously hateful statement that Trump made simply because of the race of the four Members of Congress he was attacking,” she wrote. “I have had that attack hurled against me, as have many other Americans. And never once has the pain been lessened by knowing that the racist insult was said by somebody who may also know another minority.”

Although I can hardly imagine the hatred directed at African-Americans and other minority communities, I’ve had the “go back to Poland” thrown at me growing up (or “go back to Mexico” because my skin colour is darker than your average white guy).

Not exactly sure what Governor Ricketts of Nebraska and the Sorghum Producers Association is trying to achieve here. While the project goes to the Veterans History Project at the Library of Congress and the state isn’t paying for this, it reads like both marketing strategy documents and an advertisement.

Gov. Ricketts Announces “Sorghum Cares” Initiative with Sorghum Producers Association and Dept. of Veterans’ Affairs (goes to the Nebraska state government)

This morning, Governor Pete Ricketts announced a new volunteer initiative, “Sorghum Cares: Preserving Our Heritage. Building Our Future,” to collect and preserve the stories of Nebraska veterans. The Nebraska Sorghum Producers Association (NeSPA) and Nebraska Department of Veterans’ Affairs (NDVA) have partnered to launch the initiative, with key support from Humanities Nebraska.

“Our veterans have made great sacrifices so that we can live in a land of liberty,” said Governor Ricketts. “This project documents their stories of sacrifice, and preserves them for future generations of Nebraskans.”

NeSPA routinely conducts outreach across the state to strengthen relationships with consumers, producers, and industry and educational partners and to develop value-added markets. The “Sorghum Cares” initiative will be incorporated into NeSPA’s regular monthly outreach across the state. Following these outreach events, members of the NeSPA staff, serving in a volunteer capacity, will meet with members of the veteran community to record their experiences. The veteran interviews will be archived at the Library of Congress as part of the Veterans History Project. No checkoff funds will be utilized as part of this initiative.

“Recording the experiences of Nebraska veterans is important to our heritage, and it ensures that future generations can glean lessons from their leadership and sacrifices,” said Nate Blum, Executive Director of NeSPA. “Sorghum is also an important part of Nebraska’s rich heritage, having been grown in the state from nearly the moment pioneers homesteaded the plains. Modern sorghum offers 21st-century producers opportunities to diversify their operations and gives them greater access to value-added markets.”

Kellyanne Conway Denies Trump Wants Ethnostate, Asks Whether Reporter Is Hutu Or Tutsi (goes to Wonkette)

Kellyanne Conway had one of her little moments today. When reporter Andrew Feinberg asked her to explain what she thought Donald Trump was getting at with his “go back where you came from” comments, she replied by asking him what his own ethnicity was, as human American people routinely do. Feinberg, who’s Jewish, wasn’t willing to play her dumb game, so we may never find out what brilliant rhetorical point Conway was trying to set up. Probably something completely innocent and yet profound about how the only thing that defines us is our loyalty to America, as embodied by the Great Man, so shame on Feinberg for ruining it. Some people clearly do not love America.

Former statewide judge leaves GOP, citing Trump’s racism (Goes to the Austin Statesman)

Citing what she called President Donald Trump’s racist ideology, Elsa Alcala, a retired Republican judge on the state’s highest criminal court, announced on Facebook that she can no longer support the GOP and has left the party.

“It has taken me years to say this publicly but here I go. President Trump is the worst president in the history of this country,” Alcala wrote Monday. “Even accepting that Trump has had some successes — and I believe these are few — at his core, his ideology is racism. To me, nothing positive about him could absolve him of his rotten core.”

Another courageous retired Republican quits the party.

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. It’s going to be a heat wave in some parts of the area, but NYC wont officially get a heat wave until Friday-Sunday (and Saturday is projected to get air temps to 100 and with the humidity the realfeel will be like 110). Thanks but no thanks.

I’d rather go to a socialist country where there are cooling centers and AC than deal with the fetid cesspool that Trumpworld wants for the nation where the 1% can bask in the AC while everyone else slaves away til their dying day.

How awful is Trumpworld? Let’s count the ways from just the past 24 hours.

Trump gets called a racist in the House, and the GOP would rather penalize those making the factual determination than holding Trump accountable for being a fucking racist.

Trump’s NRC wants to decrease the number of inspections of the nation’s nuclear power plants. What could possibly go wrong with an industry that has repeatedly had accidents and companies are regularly trying to cut corners because the profit margins are so tight. Companies that have never dealt with nuclear power facilities before are now acting as operators or are taking charge of decommissioning, which means that nuclear materials are being handled in new and unexpected ways by those who haven’t had experience before.

Trumpworld held a Women for Trump event, and it went exactly as expected - white women who are comfortable with a self admitted sex predator whose Access Hollywood video corroborates the accusations by 22 women that Trump sexually assaulted them.

And then there’s the new Trump-Epstein video that shows the two yukking it up, and Trump being the lout we all knew him to be.

I know I’m missing a bunch too.

Oh yeah, the GOP and Trump continue to press forward on their effort to find Obamacare unconstitutional, which would drive more than 20 million off insurance, and hike costs to nearly 25% of the nation as protections for preexisting conditions is eliminated. They don’t have a plan except to savage the safety net.

This douchecanoe’s military career is over.

A soldier was filmed cursing America and twisting a woman’s arm. He’s been detained, the Army says. (Washington Post, the lede, with video, 1:11 and other videos from other angles, white man cursing at a black woman and attacks her, claims he doesn’t care about the Army, NSFW):

The soldier was in full uniform when a decidedly civilian conflict unfolded outside a shopping mall in Savannah, Ga. But by the end of a shouting match — which lasted at most a couple of minutes — the man had ripped off his camouflage jacket, twisted a woman’s arm behind her back and declared in an expletive-laden tirade that he didn’t care about the Army and he didn’t care about the country its members are sworn to protect.

This occurred at Oglethorpe Mall in Savannah. The 3rd Infantry Division has detained him.

Not that they’ll care, but I sent an email to my worthless POS congressman, Sean Duffy, today:

Your pretense of caring about the children in the concentration camps was shown as the lie it is with your refusal to vote to condemn the racism and xenophobia of our president. This is unsurprising considering you’ve been supporting him ever since the Acts of War by the Russian Federation that put him in office. Real Americans will remember this.

Duffy = support for racism. Support for hate. Support for concentration camps. Will you support him when he orders his Gestapo in the ICE to start murdering children? His dementia is making his hatred more intense, becoming paranoia: It is only a matter of when, not if, those orders are given. But I expect you’ll cheer the day those orders are given as you have refused to help end the concentration camps. After all, Republicans are only “Pro-Life” when they’re fetuses. After children are born, we know Republicans want them to die, slowly and painfully as shown by your programs and voted - destroying health care, education, food assistance and anything needed by poor children through out the nation.

You are the one that is Anti-American, Congressman. You are a disgrace to the constitution and to the decent people of Wisconsin. As a veteran I am utterly and completely disgusted with you and the racist fascism of the Republican party that you represent. You have sided with Russia against this nation. Again, real Americans will remember that you do not support us and that you hate children enough to put them in concentration camps.

He does this to GOP congressmen just as he does to his base. It’s a loyalty test (and he’s a racist).

I’m also getting really tired of hearing conservatives say or write “you libs play the race card so much it doesn’t mean anything” of “you don’t have an argument.”

Point the First: The correct usage of “playing the race card” is “race-baiting.”
Point the Second: And we’re going to keep calling him a racist until he quits acting like one.
Point the Third: If you have to deflect from a racist by saying “you’re playing the race card,” well, that means you’re a racist as well.

‘Sir’ alert: This one word is a telltale sign Trump is being dishonest
Daniel Dale, CNN

I’ve fact-checked every word Trump has uttered since his inauguration. I can tell you that if this President relays an anecdote in which he has someone referring to him as “sir,” then some major component of the anecdote is very likely to be wrong.

Lots of people do call Trump “sir,” of course. But the word seems to pop into his head more frequently when he is inventing or exaggerating a conversation than when he is faithfully relaying one. A “sir” is a flashing red light that he is speaking from his imagination rather than his memory.

In poker parlance, it’s a tell.

Politics doesn’t have to be religious.

If for some reason the Democratic Party started promoting racism or defending sex criminals for example, I’d be gone.

I arrived at my position through reasoning out what the parties had done before the first time I cast a vote.

GOP: Be careful what you wish for, because Bill Clinton might be entangled in crime with Jeffery Epstein.

Dems: If the evidence shows Bill Clinton should be dragged into court over Jeffery Epstein, drag his ass into court.

GOP: I don’t understand.

Dems: Exactly.

For a conservative, they must win. They must defend the indefensible or irrational or unsupported, which is what makes conservatism a religion. It is why they go on the attack when someone realises that the GOP does not reflect their values and leaves.

For all the attacks over the years Justin Amash made on liberals, his decision to leave the GOP over overt racism has caused him to receive hate mail, death threats, calls of a RINO (apostasy).

The other is that Trumpers are American and rejecting Trumpism is anti-American. That needs to flip. Part of the unchallenged subversive messaging for decades is ‘the liberals/media’ as a nefarious anti-American plot to destroy America by making it socialist… and now they’re bringing out the mothballed communist label.

For all the attacks over the years Justin Amash made on liberals, his decision to leave the GOP over overt racism has caused him to receive hate mail, death threats, calls of a RINO (apostasy).

of course… i was in a hurry typing

some learn religion and stick with the dogma, because it’s drilled early, or out of fear or believing the stories of eternal damnation or whatever
others open their eyes, investigate, arent afraid of learning about other religions and people.
some decide that a different religion than that of their youth is more suitable
or none at all

politics is no different

for me it’s always this:

I don’t care about your politics (or religion). I care how you decide what your politics or religion is.

how you develop that position, how you make your evaluations and decisions. The process - the critical thinking, in gathering info, acceptance of what you hear and see, that is more of a window on who you are (and aren’t) than anything else.

Latest fix on post-tropical depression Barry is in Ohio moving into Lake Erie.

nhc.noaa.gov

The water temperatures on the west end of the lake are over 80°F. In theory that would be enough to support intensification, it is moving awfully fast (23 mph). It is 75 miles from Cleveland.

It looks strange to see a tropical system that far inland.

GOP Senate candidate: ‘Homosexual activities’ ruined great TV shows like ‘I love Lucy’ (Deadstate, more at the link):

According to Alabama Secretary of State and Republican U.S. Senate candidate John Merrill, the country is in a moral crisis thanks to the “homosexual activities” and “wife swap shows” that currently dominate entertainment television.

Speaking at a town hall event this past weekend, Merrill lamented what he sees as America’s cultural decline and the loss of wholesome TV shows. Speaking later to al.com, he reaffirmed his comments.

“The foundational principles which we have grown up as a nation are no more,” Merrill said. “There’s no more TV shows like ‘Gunsmoke’ or ‘Bonanza’ or ‘The Virginian’ or ‘I Love Lucy’ or ‘Andy Griffith.’ [I] said people are too interested in homosexual activities. They’re too interested in the wife swap TV shows and the shows that are not morally uplifting. That’s the problem.”

When pressed further, Merrill declared that he “meant what I said.”

Why would we want morally uplifting? We can watch the antics of such people as Donald Trump, Roy Moore, or Franklin Graham, and do the opposite.

We still have to wait 24 hours before we hear whether Epstein gets to await trial from behind bars, or is allowed to post bail.

Compare that to R. Kelly, who will await trial while sitting in jail.

Wealth and whiteness still has its privileges.

And unlike Epstein, he can easily explain how he acquired that wealth.

Wealth enabled R. Kelly to avoid prison thus far. His lack of whiteness relates to that he’s awaiting trial from jail, and not bail. Epstein’s wealth and whiteness meant he got the sweetheart deal he did in FL, and that the judge didn’t automatically toss him in jail to await trial on child sex trafficking charges instead of having a bail hearing w/ruling to come tomorrow.

But as you say, we know how R. Kelly got his wealth. We still don’t know how Epstein made all his money.

From the “what could possibly go wrong” files…….

The Trump administration plans to divert more than $40 million in humanitarian aid meant for Central America to instead support the U.S. backed opposition in Venezuela, according to a document obtained Tuesday by The Los Angeles Times. The $41.9 million had been designated for Guatemala and Honduras, two Central American countries at the center of the United States’ immigration influx. Instead, the money will be used for salaries, travel, communications equipment, technical assistance, and other needs for the Venezuelan opposition, according to a congressional notification from the U.S. Agency for International Development. The July 11 memo comes after the State Department announced in June that it would slash hundreds of millions of dollars of aid to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Honduras after Trump said the three countries were not doing enough to stem migration.

Just say ‘racist’ (Columbia Journalism Review)

Yesterday, the president of the United States “fanned the flames of a racial fire.” According to a panoply of major news outlets, Trump “starkly injected” “racially infused” and “racially charged” words into a morning tweetstorm; the language he used was “widely established as a racist trope” and “usually considered an ugly racist taunt.” The remarks were “called racist and xenophobic”; “denounced as racist”; an “example of ‘racism’” (note the quote marks).

What had Trump said to necessitate such pained lexical contortion? He’d told a group of left-wing Democratic Congresswomen to “go back” to “the totally broken and crime infested places they came from.” Of the lawmakers Trump appeared to be targeting, all bar one—Ilhan Omar—were born in America. Irrespective of that context, Trump’s attack wasn’t racially charged; it was just racist, by any useful definition of the term. Why didn’t our media say so?

The article goes on to list a huge number of outlets and the euphemisms they used instead of “racist.”

again from electoral-vote.com this am (my first daily stop)

Sanford, on the other hand, is a fire-breathing True Believer; a candidate who was beloved by the Tea Party until he was caught hiking the Applachian trail—in Argentina—with a woman not his wife. If he criticizes the President—say, for being racist—it will be harder for conservatives to dismiss.

Further, the more “name” candidates that enter the GOP primary race, the likelier it is that the RNC has to organize primary debates, and that states like South Carolina can’t cancel their primaries…

The biggest real threat to Trump, however, is that Justin Amash decides to run for president on the Libertarian ticket. That could siphon off just enough votes to hand the Democrat all the swing states in the Midwest.

In a way I agree with the NPR … let’s be specific. “Racist” is not specific and is more of label of morality.

Specifically, these people are White Supremacists. The President is a White Supremacist. Fox News is a White Supremacist infotainment center. The Republican Party is a White Supremacist party. Congress is full of White Supremacists and the Senate is currently led by a White Supremacist.

Is this specific enough?

It’s the first time we’ve got an annual deficit due entirely to the TCJA and not the result of the economy. All the deficit hawk GOPers are sitting on their hands - silent over the massive deficit being rung up to give millionaires like Trump bigger tax cuts.

But for the TCJA, the deficit would not be growing at this pace. The economy isn’t growing fast enough (another proof that the trickle down supply side voodoo economics is a lie that GOPers tell to get more tax cuts, and to screw those least able to endure the burdens - like service cuts, gutting the safety net, etc.).

National Federation of the Blind calls for a boycott of Goodwill stores, after Illinois’s Goodwill decided to extend their goodwill to their disabled employees by not paying them any more.

They held an informational protest at a Goodwill store in Georgia. Georgia’s Goodwill insists it pays everyone minimum wage.

Fiscal conservatives.//

…who are currently operating under “extraordinary measures” and will technically exhaust our ability to spend this fall unless Congress lifts the debt ceiling.

Trump (white supremacist) and his cohorts in the Republican Party (white supremacists) have record budget deficits on their hands and this fact somehow is quickly pushed out of the news cycle in favor of news arguing whether water is wet, or is Trump a racist.

The charade ends this fall as the debt ceiling is hit hard.

The regular minimum wage doesn’t apply to certain classes of people. That includes those with disabilities.

i get his argument though i think there’s an error here

The original challenge was simple enough. The Supreme Court upheld the ACA’s “individual mandate” — the penalty for not buying health insurance — on the basis of Congress’ power to tax. When Congress eliminated that penalty by reducing it to zero, it could no longer be a tax. Without any other congressional power to support the individual mandate, that provision was unconstitutional.

- as i understand it they didnt eliminate the penalty (they should have)
- they did, as he said, reduced it to zero.

these are not the same thing.

argue all you want
- zero tax is a tax
- many people receive a net negative income tax due to refundable credits, ie the EITC. they get money from the government that they didnt pay in. (not a refund of their own withholding). they are still ‘taxpayers’ and entitled to all the rights and privileges just like those of us who actually pay out.

all the other arguments against still hold
severability
congressional intent as recent as the last few years, etc

re: #403 lawhawk

It’s the first time we’ve got an annual deficit due entirely to the TCJA and not the result of the economy. All the deficit hawk GOPers are sitting on their hands - silent over the massive deficit being rung up to give millionaires like Trump bigger tax cuts.

But for the TCJA, the deficit would not be growing at this pace. The economy isn’t growing fast enough (another proof that the trickle down supply side voodoo economics is a lie that GOPers tell to get more tax cuts, and to screw those least able to endure the burdens - like service cuts, gutting the safety net, etc.).

hey if you’re gonna take a pass on out and out racism, a little fiscal irresponsibility is nothing

I am aware of that. The idea is that certain disabled people who can’t work as quickly or productively are paid less (essentially piece work).

In practice such organisations can apply it to all disabled people.

Goodwill in Illinois is trying to claim they are not workers at all, so they don’t have to pay them. They are offering them the opportunity to volunteer or something.

There is no good in Goodwill. The corporation is grifty as hell, and is about as much a not-for-profit as the NRA is.

The Salvation Army (militant Methodists) are just as bad, with added Hate Teh Geyh and atheists.

(When the Salvation Army was providing hot meals in Liberty, Missouri when our area was hit by a destructive tornado, they were told to skip the place I was living in by my neighbours because atheism.)

They’re prohibited by law from asking a job applicant’s age (with exceptions for minors), as I understand it, so they cannot discriminate on that basis. Hmmmm…..

EEOC identifies someone as engaging in racist and discriminatory conduct:

Ethnic slurs and other verbal or physical conduct because of nationality are illegal if they are severe or pervasive and create an intimidating, hostile or offensive working environment, interfere with work performance, or negatively affect job opportunities. Examples of potentially unlawful conduct include insults, taunting, or ethnic epithets, such as making fun of a person’s foreign accent or comments like, “Go back to where you came from, ” whether made by supervisors or by co-workers.

And yeah, it’s illegal per the CFR and Title 42 of the USC.

From that act:

Also included are individuals whose earning or productive capacities are impaired by a physical or mental disability, including those related to age or injury, for the work to be performed.

In theory, I could be paid sub-minimum wage because of epilepsy. (In practice employers discriminate against those with epilepsy though they would never admit that: You’re not the right fit for the job, we hired someone more qualified, we decided to pull the job opening, &c).

It also allows age discrimination.

The document circulated by wingnuts is not any sort of aircraft logbook. Those require specific entries.

And an aircraft logbook is an actual book.

And there is no wingnut on the planet that would be able to get a page of Epstein’s pilot’s logbook.

They make the claim, they provide the evidence (that the page is truly a logbook page).

That which is asserted without evidence may be dismissed without evidence.

Bill Clinton traveling on the plane would also require the Secret Service. In all these years it’s quite amazing if this really happened, no Secret Service agent has come forward ever to testify to it and provide evidence. If one did, he’d be the toast of Wingnutia.

Conservatism is a religion. Like all religions, they will lie to support their assertions (Martin Luther even recommended it).

The absence of evidence is evidence of absence.

That said, if something did come out (not bullshyte wingnut claims), then send Bill Clinton to trial.

“Racist” is not a “moral label.” It is a description of behaviour.

I let NPR have it in a letter last year when they had a spokesperson on to discuss immigration problems from FAIR, without identifying what FAIR was beyond its name.

If you get caught fucking a goat, you get called a goat fucker. It’s not a label, it is a description of what you are.
