Mind-Blowing: Jacob Collier and Steve Vai, “Do You Feel Love”

“Do You Feel Love (feat. Steve Vai)” / “Outro” by Jacob Collier [OFFICIAL AUDIO] from Djesse Vol. 2

What is there to say about the legend that is Steve Vai??? Well, mainly that he is one of the most special human beings in the planet. We have become friends over the last couple of years, and his humility and life-awareness, in face of his greatness, never ceases to blow my mind. I wrote Do You Feel Love especially for him. I sent him a bunch of impossible midi-guitar, which, impossibly, effortlessly, he transcribed and played note-for-note. He then completely let loose over the end of ‘Outro’… it brings me goosebumps every time. It was the last song I wrote for the album—it was imagined and recorded in a total of three days. The Northumbrian pipes legend from ‘Intro’, Kathryn Tickell, returned to play that epic melody in harmony with Steve on this one.

Fun fact: The groove in the verse was made from chopped up sounds of garden tools!

re: #215 Anymouse 🌹

I don’t think that’s going to work.

It looks like he’s trying to hunker down and wait out the protests, hoping people will forget.

That’s my expectations too. It’s been 11 days since protests started. School starts in early August (school summer here runs from June to July). If he can hold out until then, the protests will die out.

Plus his word on “he won’t run again” probably doesn’t mean much after the chatlog dump implicating him in holding up relief supplies.

This is true. While the PNP is lukewarm, several key mayors have stood by on their calls for his resignation. Without these mayors’ help, no governor candidate will win.

The women who “chained herself” to one side of a double door in the dead of winter and then had to beg the cops to cut her out of the cuffs because she’d lost the key and needed to pee…thinking the inability to access social media is why she can’t find a date or express her beliefs in public without getting chewed out in reply.

Perhaps being banned from dating sites is a form of eugenics for her, because potential mates want to avoid someone with clear mental health issues.

This is one of those times where I can’t help but laugh at all the memories about the “concerned” folks who insisted that wingnuts like Laura did not deserve to be run off Twitter, but instead we would find greater success in “debating” with them and proving how wrong their beliefs truly were.

I actually cried the night we both decided he could read on his own. I read to him every night until right after he turned 12. Even as a baby. When he was very little I just read whatever I was reading. So whether he knows it or not, he’s “read” Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee, The Alchemist, stuff I doubt I could ever get him to look at now.

My third was the hardest because he was the last. Mine are five years apart, and I stopped with them between 8 and 10 because they were more interested at that point in reading on their own. The gap was good because I could do an easy quick book for the younger while I was still reading to the older. When I no longer had anyone to read it, it was tough.

I’d say that it sort of became pointless to worry about such things the moment he went back on his “condemnation.” Whether he planned it or it was spontaneous, the reality is that he’s totally for it and the GOP are left making fools of themselves trying to defend it.

It wasn’t on the subway. It was at the so-called deploraball. Yes, there’s video. No, I’m not going to link it because of the anti-Semitic commentary that YouTube protects as “freeze peach.”

She also filed a $3 billion dollar lawsuit for defamation against Facebook last week. Good luck with that.

‘The Jewish Voice’ Helped Laura Loomer Evade Her Twitter Ban (May 8, Right Wing Watch)

The far-right provocateur Laura Loomer evaded Twitter’s ban on her account by running the Twitter account for The Jewish Voice, a small conservative Jewish weekly, Right Wing Watch reported.

Loomer has been banned from several services for her racist and Islamophobic tweets. In November, Uber and Lyft banned her from using their ride-hailing apps, and Twitter unverified her account before deleting it. Loomer later wore a yellow star and handcuffed herself to a Twitter office building in Manhattan to protest her ban.

Yet according to Right Wing Watch’s report, base on a chat log and confirmed by a source close to the Jewish Voice, Loomer was given the password to the group’s Twitter account. She has apparently been using it to post strenuously pro-Loomer tweets, highlighting in particular instances where Loomer has tried to confront U.S. Representatives Ilhan Omar and Rashida Tlaib over comments they have made about Israel.

Waco day care denies child admission after learning her parents are in same-sex marriage

A Waco couple said their daughter was denied admission to a local day care because they are in a lesbian relationship.

Brittney Ready and her wife, Stacey, have been married for two years and have four kids.

Their youngest daughter, Callie, was on the waiting list at Parkview Christian Academy until they got a call Thursday saying the day care finally had an opening.

Brittney wrote on Facebook that the director was sweet and welcoming to the couple and their daughter. It wasn’t until they were ready to leave that they ran into problems.

“We go to leave with paperwork in hand only for the administrator to call us into his office to let us know that he heard that Stacey and I our ‘mates’ and because of that they cannot welcome Callie” Brittney said.

Ready said the director told the couple the day care could not welcome Callie because their christian-based faith would not be able to accept their daughter.

The director needs to stop thumping his Bible long enough to open it and read this:

Matthew 18: 1-6 KJV
At the same time came the disciples unto Jesus, saying, Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?
And Jesus called a little child unto him, and set him in the midst of them,
And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become
as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven.
Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven.
And whoso shall receive one such little child in my name receiveth me.
But whoso shall offend one of these little ones which believe in me, it were better for him that a millstone were hanged about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea.

We saw that in the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing for Barr, the GOP made no real effort to refute the Report and instead focused on getting Barr to repeat “no collusion, no obstruction” as much as possible.

I fully expect one of the first questions out of the gate to be some variation on “When did you know it was all a hoax?” That’s going to be the crux of their effort to discredit the Report, the idea that Mueller knew from the beginning there was no crime and so pursued a totally political agenda but came up empty.

Nah, as it’s been pointed out in the thread, Red hated Ford with a passion for pardoning Nixon. And had a very low view of draft dodgers. So whatever his politics, I don’t think he could have brought himself to vote for Trump. Probably would have voted for Gary Johnson or wrote in someone else’s name.

Red Forman would’ve seen through Trump’s con and viewed him as a shyster. Red was no fool.

Wait, didn’t Abbott just get done saying there was no place for discrimination in Texas?

Why yes, yes he did.

However, Christian daycare is covered under the I Amendment. This isn’t the same as his douchy Chik-fil-A law; a church has an absolute right to exclude anyone they want.

A huge number of Christian denominations would have done the same. There are very few Christian denominations actually welcoming without conditions to same-sex parents and their children.

Because if Mueller was really in on a “fix” for the Democrats, he would have gone full throttle to indict him, his children, and his gold toilet. Their entire premise of no collusion>hoax is asinine.

Ah, but would Red’s contempt for Trump outweigh the contempt he feels for whiny Gen X slackers and Millennials? I could see Red holding his nose and pulling the lever for Trump to spite Eric and any offspring Eric might have.

In case you missed it:

The Head of the Government Ethics Office Just Quit (Bill Moyers)

Walter Shaub, the director of the Office of Government Ethics, has thrown up his hands in the face of the Trump administration’s disregard for, well, government ethics. The veteran public servant sent a short resignation letter to Donald Trump today, half a year before his five-year term expired.

Shaub’s office was founded in the wake of Watergate, and oversees 4,500 employees who work on ethics-related issues across the government. But Shaub himself was little-known before Donald Trump became president. However, once it became clear that Trump intended to take his seat in the White House while doing next to nothing to resolve his conflicts of interest, Shaub, in consultation with Obama ethics lawyer Norm Eisen, hatched a plan to get Trump’s attention through Twitter and public speeches.

The office was created in the wake of the Watergate scandal.

Just last month, for example, the Justice Department’s top lawyer for compliance resigned. Hui Chen, whose career includes public service as a federal prosecutor as well as stints as a lawyer for Pfizer and Microsoft, said she couldn’t ask companies to act ethically when the administration was so willing to flout the rules. “Trying to hold companies to standards that our current administration is not living up to was creating a cognitive dissonance that I could not overcome,” Chen wrote in a LinkedIn post last week. “To sit across the table from companies and question how committed they were to ethics and compliance felt not only hypocritical, but very much like shuffling the deck chair on the Titanic.”

Yup. Juanita Jean ran a registration/get out the vote campaign in Fort Bend County (where she lives) and flipped every county seat to the Democrats. She says the GOP still hasn’t figured out how she and her workers did it.

If Texas was to go blue in 2020, not only would that take away the GOP’s largest Electoral College state, that would give a Democratic House a chance to un-fuque the gerrymandering which does things like split Austin into six different GOP districts.

A Mom Anon  Jul 22, 2019 • 2:26:14am

I swear….I am moving to a cave with puppies til after Armageddon.

So I ended up quitting the BlazeItForward Facebook group this morning. A couple of members decided to give me shit on the page and in messenger over my idea to pay the lunch debts for students who don’t qualify for free lunches and are still struggling to pay the bill. Why? Come on, guess, you know what I am going to say because we hear it all the fucking time:

It’s the parents’ responsibility to feed the kids, not ours!!! Donate to food banks instead so their parents can go there and get food. One of these people claimed to be a social worker for neglected kids.

Judgment does not feed hungry kids. Food is a right and not a privilege. And kids, even if we say some parents are awful, shouldn’t ever be forced to pay for their parents’ mistakes. Blaze’s family doesn’t actually run the Facebook group, it looks like it’s a friend or friends of theirs doing it. And while it might have been nice to have group support, I don’t need it to try to do something. As fucked up and dumb as this very red county is, it would not surprise me at all if there were rules against helping. My hope is that there is already something in place, like all lunches being paid for regardless, I should be able to find out soon enough.

And if I can’t do this, I’ll figure out another way to help. But can I just say how much humans irritate the hell out of me? Who shits all over an idea to help feed kids? On a site to honor a young man who was killed just because he was a light in a dark world? I’m all out of patience for these fucking people.

I’m not a lawyer.

That said, you could set up a not-for-profit (with all the attendant headaches that involves) to collect money for school lunches for everyone.

Alternatively, you could go to the school board armed with facts about how much more wasteful it is to harass children and parents to collect debts from people who don’t have the money, and just have the board pass a resolution abolishing collecting money for school lunches. Any increase in taxes would actually be minuscule. The whole freakin’ city of New York did it, and their school district has to have orders of magnitude more students.

We live in one of the richest counties in the state, but there are pockets of poverty even in the wealthy areas, the southern part of the county is where the poverty becomes more obvious, but I am certain that there are families here that could use the help. You have to start somewhere, making sure kids can focus on school instead of hunger seems like it should be easy.

Trump concentrated on four states that went for Obama in 2012; PA, OH MI and WI.

That guaranteed him a majority of electoral votes without even having to take Florida.

I know this. A lot of those voters were in those states. I think of those, Ohio he will be the most likely to retain but the other three will prove difficult per what happened in the midterms.

He’s not wrong, but I think we can do both. What a lot of people fail to grasp is that once you elect your candidates, the job is not done. If you want to see more liberal policies enacted then you have to continue to challenge elected officials to debate the merits and sometimes you get results you want. That’s the whole idea of representation, to elect people willing to engage and work for change to meet the needs of constituents.

And yes, we need to expose and pound the fuck out of Trump’s KKK and Nazi bullshit and all his little hitler loving pals. We have to do that, relentlessly. The good news is they don’t hide it much, we just need to amplify what they do every fucking day. There’s plenty of material to work with, old and new.

He’s right - because for that group of voters, to them…..it’s all one and the same.

He doesn’t dismiss them; he says by themselves they are not enough to inspire fence-sitter voters (who made up more than 50% of the electorate in 2016). We have evidence of this in that Hillary Clinton had all sorts of plans and ideas.

My wife was watching a video on the Manhattan-Rochester coalition (that is, the Army’s covert dispersal of aerosols which was done in several US and Canadian cities ostensibly to study wind patterns in a chemical attack - she was in the area where St. Louis was repeatedly hammered when she was a child).

YouTube suggested as follow-on videos a series of SheZow cartoons. (I have the dubious distinction of my sister’s late wife being the person who brought that cartoon to Hub Network as its director of operations - along with the attendant conservative outrage and threats of boycotts).

If that’s the best AI can do for suggesting something as “here’s a related video,” I don’t think we’re quite ready for AI to take over the world in a giant Skynet yet.

I need to see that documentary that one woman did on her Dad and FNC. I contend the best way to combat FNC is to see the world beyond your borders. I don’t mean the US necessarily because I know international travel is expensive. I mean something as simple as trying a new food, watching a film that is about a group different than yours, listen to music, etc. FNC created us and them. A bit of noteworthy news from Europe:

A French submarine that went missing in the western Mediterranean in 1968 has been located during a search mission, officials said Monday, ending a 51-year wait for families of the deceased who continue to seek answers to the naval disaster.

“It’s a success, a relief and a technical feat,” Defence Minister Florence Parly wrote on Twitter, after the wreck was discovered 45 kilometres (30 miles) off the southern French port of Toulon.

“I am thinking of the families who have waited for this moment for so long,” she said.

Illinois Republicans are trying to quash outrage after a graphic on the Illinois Republican County Chairmen’s Association Facebook page posted Friday depicted four congresswomen of color in an action movie-style poster topped with the title “The Jihad Squad.”

In the picture, Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-MI), Ayanna Pressley (D-MA) and Ilhan Omar (D-MN) are wielding guns, while Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), seemingly photoshopped onto a red, Bond-girl style dress, smiles in the middle.

State Republican Chairman Tim Schneider responded to what he called the “bigoted rhetoric” in a statement, according to the Tribune.

“My intense disagreement with the socialist policies and anti-Semitic language of these four congresswoman has absolutely nothing to do with their race or religion,” he said. “I urge everyone who opposes them to keep the rhetoric focused on policy and ideology.”

In other words, Tim and his pals which include a former denizen of this page who slandered my son are full blown racists.

I mean all this does connect to each other but we each have our revelations. I’m not saying Conspiracy bs wasn’t peddled before 2012. I’m saying seeing with my own two eyes people who I personally know peddle it after a shooting of kids was an eye opener and how Jones who had for a long time rightfully seen as a fringe kook got mainstreamed.

I’m not disputing that. I said I knew shit was getting weird in 2012 when schoolchildren being murdered resulted in conspiracies. You brought something up three years later. I was speaking for my own observations. Jade Helm wasn’t a revelation to me but a continuance as was Stoneman Douglas’s aftermath.

There were conspiracy theories surrounding the 1927 Bath, Michigan Consolidated School massacre (which still stands as the worst school massacre in the USA).

No surprise, caused by a conservative anti-tax protestor who worked for the school district. (I grew up near there.)

Greets and saluts from the NYC metro area. The heat wave appears to have broken, but the humidity is still unbearable.

But that’s still more tolerable than the fucknut in the WH and his coven of criminals and complicit cronies in the WH and GOP that protect him from consequences of his actions.

Trump is unfit to be president. This was true in 2015. 2016. 2017. 2018. 2019.

It was true in the 1970s when the DOJ slammed him and his racist dad with a consent order to stop discriminating against minorities at their housing projects. Trump is now and has always been a racist. It’s who he has always been. Nothing’s changed - except the platform and the media continues to try to both sides and wait for that presidential moment that will never come.

Some in the media, like Daniel Dale, Dave Faharenthold, and others continue to shine a light on Trumpworld and their lies and criminality and financial chicanery. But far more listen to Fox and the steady stream of agitprop for decades than care what was in the contents of the Mueller report (which clearly set out criminal acts by Trump and his cronies).

Fuck the NRA of 1998 and 2006 but they didn’t engage in conspiracies following Columbine and VA Tech that we saw following Sandy Hook and Stoneman Douglas. It doesn’t change what American conservatism is or was, it’s about how tragedies got their conspiracy crap mainstreamed. Please read more closely what I’m trying to articulate here. re: #219 Wendell Zurkowitz ((slave to the waffle light))

I am convinced that a lot of Flat-Earthers or Moon Landing Deniers are just in it for the shits & giggles and simply enjoy getting a rise out of people (like Buzz Aldrin) but that is vastly different than demeaning the loss and tragedy suffered by the parents of the victims of mass shootings.

Some of the software engineers at Digital formed a Flat Earth Society group in Colorado Springs. My wife tells me they broke the group up when they started getting too many true believers coming to their meetings from the community (they’d started it as a lark and were overwhelmed by idiots).

There might be some who are in it for the grift, but the overwhelming majority of them are those who are Bible literalists and take the Flat Earth nonsense seriously. It is really no different than any other conspiratorial thinking: THEY are hiding something from you for [unspecified reason but must be nefarious].

My wife has been arguing in the chat of one of the SheZow cartoons with an antivaxxer who is absolutely convinced by the University of Google that THEY want to poison you for profit, and polio has no lasting effects (but the vaccine does). Never mind both her mother and my mother had polio, and her mother was left paralysed in a wheelchair for the rest of her life, while mine suffers from post-polio syndrome.

I’m calling the school district this morning to see what they do about this. I also am trying to get in touch with one of my son’s teachers to ask her for an insider’s POV.

It’s also not lost on me that it costs more than a couple of dollars and you have to have a corporate structure to start a non profit organization. Gah.

Sorry to be late to the party, but my school district has a program where kids with extra money left in their account at the end of the school year can donate it to settle the balances of the kids who need it. They are able to cover those balances every year as a result….what parent needs the drama of chasing down a $5 check to get a refund?

If your district would consider it, it’s a very cool program.

The Czech branch of the Chinese company Huawei is suspected of collecting sensitive data on officials and businessmen through its employees. This material is allegedly gathered during business meetings and subsequently entered into a central database to which the company’s headquarters in China have access. Czech Radio’s investigative team at Radiožurnál broke the story, citing former Huawei employees and Czech intelligence sources.

Two former managers who worked at the Czech branch of the Chinese tech and telecommunications giant Huawei recently spoke under condition of anonymity to Czech Radio’s investigative team, which has been analysing how exactly Huawei functions in the Czech Republic.

The company has been under the spotlight due to its bid to roll out the 5G network here and elsewhere in Europe.

I think that at its core explains why I’ve never embraced economic right wing thinking. Calvinism never influenced my grandparents or parents and thus me. I have one Great Grandparent who was raised Lutheran but the rest were Catholics of the Roman and Byzantine variety. Obviously those denominations have their own root problems but never this “Tough shit if you starve because you can’t afford something.” No child or adult for that matter should go without a meal.

Equifax currently trades at $138 a share. They give a 38 cent per share dividend, and have EPS of $1.20.

This company still has oversized say as to the credit that individuals and businesses can obtain, despite having massive data breach and not doing right by anyone who was harmed (and that’s pretty much everyone in the nation).

i’m having serious deja vu here. Wasn’t there already an armored bear in Golden Compass? Is this a series of some sort based on that source material?

They’re making a series based on (hopefully) all the books. That movie was really meh compared to the book because there’s more to explore than what they could fit into a movie. It’s similar to the Netflix show for A Series of Unfortunate Events vs the movie.

Yea, for going for written media to movie it seems that novella length is about the most you can do a decent movie from. For novels you have to chop stuff out* and short stories often need padding. A series allows you a lot more leeway to work with the material.

* - Or put in five tons of extra crap if you’re trying to take _The Hobbit_ from shortish novel to trilogy including CGI-fest and techno-Orcs.

‘Mr Mueller, if Trump was not a sitting president and you didn’t have to abide by JD policy, would you have prosecuted Donald Trump?’

Mueller won’t deliver any bombshells on his own. He has to be asked the correct questions.

At best, he’ll say that in such a scenario, he might have gone ahead with an indictment. And that will be as far as it goes, he won’t speculate on his chances of successfully convicting Trump. And note that’s the best possible outcome, the most likely outcome will be that he comments that he’s not comfortable speculating.

Anglicans never fell for Calvinism either - thus the whole “Puritan” crap fest that the English ended up fighting a civil war over. Charles I was a shitty monarch but really it was the religious fighting that really set the stage for that bloody mess and the even worse disaster of the Commonwealth.

The New Model Army is why the founding fathers of this nation feared the idea of a standing army so much and put such an emphasis on militias. In a real sense one can blame the Puritans and their religious intolerance for the 2nd Amendment.

Questions to ask - apologies if the order isn’t quite right):

1) Was your investigation prematurely ended once AG Barr was in a position to weigh in on the ongoing work?
2) Did AG Barr talk to you prior to your issuance of the report?
3) Did anyone from the DOJ request that you wrap up investigation?
4) What’s the DOJ policy on indictment of a sitting president?
4a) In your legal opinion, was there sufficient information to indict Trump on federal felonies but for DOJ policy?
5) What was the precipitating action that led to your being named as special counsel?

The thing is, that you want to ask the questions knowing what the answers will be - We don’t know what the answers to 1-3 would be.

We know that he’d answer yes to 4a.

We also know that the Comey firing is what led to the OSC being named.

There’s also a series of questions to be asked relating to Russian and foreign interference. There’s additional questions relating to wikileaks and coordinating efforts.

And then there’s the June meeting with Russians and Trumpworld.

There’s questions to be asked and I agree that all these questions would be valuable to ask. But you’re right, it’s generally best to ask questions to which you already know the answer, a big risk when you’re trying to float a narrative that this administration has been doing everything in its power to obstruct and quash investigations. And even that is speculative, as it doesn’t seem like the Dem caucus has actually settled on much of a narrative. They truly do seem to be engaging in the very thing that we’ve tried to deny for a good while: A fishing expedition in search of anything that would look “bad” next November.

A very Roman Catholic church that subverted the protestant reformation at it’s beginning. Given the usual fundamentalist hatred of Rome, you’d think they’d like that use of Rome as teh ebil. But consistency is not a hallmark of fundamentalism…

One of the reason Jews are lefty on economics is more historical than theological… genetic memory, if you will. Throughout medeival Europe and a few hundred more years, and throughout the Caliphate, taxes were assessed on the Jewish community collectively. Either we all, together, come up with the required amount, or we all, together, get evicted. There’s no per person amount, or per acre, no marginal rates. The Jews of Kiev, or the Jews of Salamanca, or the Jews of Frankfurt, either pay up or leave. Punishment for criminal offenses worked on a similar principle — we’re all of us responsible for the actions of any one of us.

I like the capitalist virtues of individual initiative and personal responsibility, but only in the context of us being social beings who live in communities.

And why is it that when investors pool their resources to optimize their investment in the form of a limited liability corporation then this is seen as the very paragon of our system, while when workers or consumers try to do the same, they are derided as communists and collectivists who want to destroy society?

Family Values should be about families - and families need good schools, strong civic institutions and stable communities. Those are collective undertakings that also need a responsible and stable government, which requires a tax base.

The Trump admin is full of racist assholes, part eleventy billion:

Washington (CNN) - The Trump administration is planning to expand a procedure to speed up deportations to include undocumented immigrants anywhere in the US who cannot prove they’ve lived in the US continuously for two years or more.

The change casts a wider net of undocumented immigrants subject to the fast-track deportation procedure known as “expedited removal,” which allows immigration authorities to remove an individual without a hearing before an immigration judge.

In doing so, the administration would be provided greater latitude in quickly deporting undocumented immigrants.

Previously, undocumented immigrants who were caught within 100 miles of a land border and within 14 days of arrival were subject to the procedure.

The notice, filed in the Federal Register Monday, drastically changes the designation of expedited removal to include undocumented immigrants nationwide who can’t prove they’ve been in the country continuously for two years. It would therefore apply to thousands more people who recently arrived to the US and are living around the country.

[Embedded content]

i saw this on saturday and made a note to post it today. no need now.

it’s all right here:

18/ To flip Duke voters would require that they accept the fact that they had previously voted for a monster, and people are loath to do that. Our goal was not to flip them, but to DRIVE UP TURNOUT among the good folks, many of whom stayed home in 90…

22/ First, trying to flip Trump voters is a waste of time. Any of them who regret their vote don’t need to be pandered to. They’ll do the right thing. Don’t focus on them. That said, very few will regret their vote. They cannot accept they voted for a monster or got suckered…

23/ Duke retained 94% of the folks he got the first time out (and got new people too), as Trump likely will. So forget these people—or at least don’t wast time tailoring messages to them. And policy plans for affordable college don’t mean shit to them, nor health care…

24/ Their support for Trump was never about policy. It was about the bigotry, the fact that he hates who they hate…Second, as for the “undecideds.” …Not many of these but seriously? If you’re still undecided at this point about this guy…

27/ And what I know for a FACT is that this message—that Trumpism is a threat to everything we care about and love about this country—is what will inspire the Dem base to vote…and THAT is what this election is about

when democrats vote, democrats win
this is how you make them want to vote. simply and clearly.

getting all those horses in the race to see this is another matter

Our entire capitalist system only works because it rests upon a socialist foundation. Our entire transportation system (starting with the Erie Canal, up through the transcontinental railroad and the interstate highways), land ownership (The Homestead Act), our great scientific achievements (The Apollo program, USDA and NIH grants for basic medical research, CDC, etc), to even our current Brave Protectors (the fire department, the police department, the military) and the courts — those are all socialist enterprises.
