Not only did Sebesta reportedly purchase a home with the funds, he also sprung for the ultimate Disney upgrade — a seat at the table at the expensive and exclusive Club 33 inside Disneyland.

Per the LA Times and others, Sebesta reportedly forged checks and used his position as a chairman for the Southern California Fifth Church of Christ, Scientist to draw in close to $11.5 million over the course of a decade.

We do all these various things here: Coat drives, shoe drives, school supply drives. I have a friend who organizes a huge purse and jewelry sale that raises funds to help low income schools around the city. Low income kids do get meals at school here.

I have another friend who works with various groups to keep kids fed when school isn’t in session. (Lots of kids get one solid meal at school and that’s it, so when school isn’t in session, they are struggling for ANY meal.)

How is it that we’ve come to “Fuck you if you’re poor, starve?”

There just isn’t the proper words for how angry and frustrated this makes me every God Damn day. I can’t handle it.

Meaning that, if true, once Trump denied any ties to Russia they had leverage over him. Which, yes, we already knew when the Trump Tower Moscow deal came to light, but this would be more proof of Trump’s repeated flagrant lies when it comes to Russian influence.

Also, if there are co-signers there are probably contingency side contracts in play.

You’re right. But the story itself is entirely plausible - I have little doubt that given Trump’s credit history (which is hot garbage), him needing a co-signer to borrow money* makes perfect sense.

But then Susan Collins decided being moderate in temperament only is fine, and that she could reasonably get away with voting exactly like all of those wackier Republicans, so long as she was polite about it. She decided that it would probably be a good idea for her to vote to confirm Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, even as we all begged her not to do us like that. And now the motherfucking knives are out. And also the money. So, so much money.

The flip has happened in Nebraska: Trump is now polling under water according to Morning Consult (from +25 on Election Day to -1 now).

I don’t know if our mere five electoral votes are worth it to the Democrats to try to compete for, but -1 makes us a swing state.

With the GOP struggling to hold Texas, they might be willing to sacrifice Nebraska. Since we have mail balloting like Oregon, a programme like Postcards to Voters might be very effective here to get people to mark the bubble for the eventual D candidate.

Moreover, Trump’s coattails for downballot candidates suck. That might be useful in ousting Sen. Sasse as well.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a second Scottish independence referendum in the next couple of years or so - and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it wins next time around, with a newly-independent Scotland immediately beginning EU accession negotiations.

And I strongly suspect this could ultimately lead to the complete unification of Ireland as well.

The only thing left will be Wales and England to form a UK rump state - which I’ve seen sarcastically dubbed “Wangland”.

One of the major arguments about independence was the fact that it would leave them outside the EU with no guarantee of being let back in (Spain might have blocked it in order to set an example for Catalonia, for example)

The other reason was the uncertainty and lack of planning for what would happen after Independence…

That uncertainty did not hinder a majority for Brexit, after all, it meant no fore Foreigners taking our jobs and 50 million pounds per week for the NHS to train and hire new doctors, nurses and staff after all the Poles and Pakistanis flee!

Looking at the model output for Dorian, it’s quite clear that the uncertainty is great as the three major models come up with three solutions:

1) Dorian approaches Florida, then kisses the coastline and wanders north along the coast for 5 days then rapidly moves out to sea towards Newfoundland.
2) Dorian hits the central Florida coastline, crosses Florida, moves up the Gulf coastline of Florida, then enters GA and heads east to the Atlantic coast, wanders north to NC, then goes out to sea after 6 days of raining on the mainland.
3) Dorian crosses Florida, moves up to the panhandle, keeps heading north then northeast in the middle of GA/SC/NC where it becomes a remnant low and continues northeast.

However strong Dorian is when it hits the mainland, there looks to be about 5 or 6 days of rain ahead for the southeast.

That said, they never spent much money here either. I imagine this state wouldn’t be an easy pickup for the Democrats, and they might not want to invest limited resources here to do it, but flipping our five electoral votes and ousting Sasse would certainly sting the GOP.

It wasn’t long ago we had a Democratic senator. Unlike Wyoming up the road, the Nebraska Democratic Party is not a dead letter.

I actually wouldn’t be surprised if there’s a second Scottish independence referendum in the next couple of years or so - and I wouldn’t be at all surprised if it wins next time around, with a newly-independent Scotland immediately beginning EU accession negotiations.

And I strongly suspect this could ultimately lead to the complete unification of Ireland as well.

The only thing left will be Wales and England to form a UK rump state - which I’ve seen sarcastically dubbed “Wangland”.

This is one of Putin’s lesser goals, the destruction of the United States being tops on the list.

Not to mention that Luck is the QB. Fair or not, the QBs are generally seen as the team leaders and the major factor in the rise and/or fall of teams alongside the coaches. Gronk was a tight end, albeit an elite one. While a good tight end will almost always make a good team great, they’re also not usually treated as a lynch pin position far as I’m aware, even with the rise of the position’s importance in the last couple decades or so.

The British Parliament is to be suspended. Basically, this is BoJo’s move to either get a no-deal Brexit or alternatively, force a no-confidence vote so he can get to a general election. Frankly though, the latter - while an interesting idea, sort of ignores that Johnson could simply call a snap election whenever he wants to without having to suspend Parliament first.

What Boris is trying to do, it seems, is prevent Parliament from undercutting his threat of a no-deal Brexit, which is an idle threat at best, because the EU is at this point pretty much finished with their preparations for a UK crash-out of the EU.

It is the UK that will suffer the full force of a no-deal crash and burn. Not to say the rest of the EU won’t take a hit, but the UK will feel it the worst.

Well, popular as the EU might be in Scotland, they are still likely to be screwed either way. With the UK out of the EU, they’re going to be just another backwater province with a small population and a small localized economy: but even if they do go through with an independence movement, there’s still no guarantee that a separate Scotland would be automatically admitted back into the Union. IIRC, admission of new members to the EU has to be by unanimous vote: and Spain has already said (though a few years back) that they would vote “no” so as not to give the Catalans any ideas….

Yes, and there was a great deal of uncertainty about what would follow…which currency, what to do about UK’s nuclear weapons and subs (all stationed in Scotland) and whether they would be admitted to the EU.

Spain would probably have blocked Scotland in order not to create an example for Catalonia to follow. I believe that the EU would currently be happy now to let Scotland back into the fold when the UK falls away permanently.

Well, popular as the EU might be in Scotland, they are still likely to be screwed either way. With the UK out of the EU, they’re going to be just another backwater province with a small population and a small localized economy: but even if they do go through with an independence movement, there’s still no guarantee that a separate Scotland would be automatically admitted back into the Union. IIRC, admission of new members to the EU has to be by unanimous vote: and Spain has already said (though a few years back) that they would vote “no” so as not to give the Catalans any ideas….

If Scotland wants to join the EU by itself, that would necessitate a hard border between Scotland and England. I don’t see that being popular.

the source of loan funds (generally) isn’t relevant

it could come up through questions about the deduction of the interest but even that still likely only goes to the legitimacy and source of the funds - ie the bank, not what dox had to be submitted to the lender to ‘qualify’ for the loan
