Heard the same thing about snowboarders too. Do they really test for weed? I know they do for performance enhancing drugs, but weed?

Cannabidiol is no longer prohibited. Synthetic cannabidiol is not a cannabimimetic; however, cannabidiol extracted from cannabis plants may also contain varying concentrations of THC, which remains a prohibited substance.

My understanding is that it’s mathematically impossible for Likud to form a majority without the Blue and White Party and so Bibi has requested that a unity gov’t be formed. B&W have made their position clear: They’re willing to form a unity gov’t, but Bibi cannot stay as PM.

Again, we’re reminded that the Dem leadership is pursuing impeachment on sufferance, that the totality of Trump’s criminality is such that they can’t just dismiss it outright but to pursue it means the real chance that they might have do something that could anger the “Trump Democrats.” So we’re left watching as they pantomime giving a shit, when in reality they’re just running down the clock.

They’re not impeaching because they don’t have the votes and they aren’t going to twist arms for what will end up being little more than performance art.

Charles Koch haz a sad.

apple.news

The political network funded in part by billionaire libertarian Charles Koch is going to try a new strategy against President Donald Trump’s trade war with China after conceding its previous campaign hasn’t worked.

Koch network leaders said Thursday that their digital and TV ad blitz that emphasized how Americans could experience financial pain from the tariff fight wasn’t panning out the way they had hoped.

“The argument that, you know, the tariffs are adding a couple thousand dollars to the pickup truck that you’re buying is not persuasive,” a senior Koch official, who declined to be named, said during a briefing in New York. “It doesn’t penetrate with the people that are willing to go along with the argument that you have to punish China.”

Koch network officials said the organization will put out ads with a new message, although, according to one network leader it is unclear what that message will be.

So… We fucked up and have no idea how to fix it.

Priceless.

About the only positive thing I have to say about Epic Games right now is they have a point about Valve needing to give indie developers a better deal with regards to profit-sharing. And even that’s not really much when you consider they’ve told several indie developers that they’re basically banned from the store for not signing exclusivity deals.

That’s the only good part of the ongoing dumpster fire Trump has made of US politics. I really don’t see the GOP base coming back home to the GOP establishment after Trump.

But’s it s death or glory situation. IMO, what we’ll see after Trump is the GOP getting more and more fascist, and then the US becoming fascist depends mainly on whether or not the idiots in the middle finally turn decisively against the GOP or remain good Germans until the bitter end.

re: #52 MsJ

For all the money and effort they put into their networks, the Kochs didn’t actually understand what they were doing. Now we watch the remaining one try and pretend that what happening wasn’t the most likely outcome, but some kind of fixable error to the manipulation system. They helped build a culture based on heightened emotion and revanchism, but now they have specific goals that they can’t frame in those terms, and other bastards are doing a better job with the accepted language.

Their milkshake is getting drunk by a basic patent medicine huckster because nobody pointed out that fostering gullibility and inchoate contempt for knowledge lifts the boats of all manipulators and conmen…many of whom are more shameless, and willing to burn more down for less profit. If they’d talked to a social scientist who’d read Festinger rather than a corps of ad men, that this would happen would be obvious.

There’s a general lesson here: the billionaires and technocrats frequently have no idea what they fuck they’re doing, or the implications of what they’re doing in the long-term and broad scope. But they live in bubbles where no one says “No” and there are people paid to make their brain droppings sound smart and feasible.

This is how the impeachment question should be framed: “Do you agree that while President, Donald Trump can hunt you for sport? Because if you’re letting him get away with obstruction of justice, that’s exactly what you’re saying.”

Narrator’s Voice: Yes, they will.

The Republicans would care…to know who “leaked” the tapes to the press. They wouldn’t give a sugar-coated fuck about what was actually on the tapes, but instead would be on every news network that would have them to scream that the “leaker” had violated “national security” and needed to be prosecuted “else people will lose faith!”

Don’t believe me? I present Exhibit A:

It’s been very wet, from the amount of water standpoint. Judging from the number of broken down, stranded Mercedeseses on the way home down Memorial Drive, it surprised even some of the normally invulnerable masters of the local universe.

Targetpractice  Sep 19, 2019 • 6:59:04pm

The question anymore is not “Will the Republicans continue to protect Trump?,” because the answer is “Yes, yes, a thousand times yes.”

The question is “What will Democrats do about it?” And so far, the answer seems to be “Look troubled, promise yet more hearings, and then move on.”

Ayep. Keep the story floating out there so that if Biden looks like he’s on his way to the nomination, the media will suddenly find a lot of interest in what it is in Ukraine that their gov’t is refusing to investigate.

I do hope that any woman who is thinking of having a relationship with Wohl sees this dreck (or the like) from him and promptly ditches him. I’m sure Wohl’s character would be improved by many decades of solitary sex as his only option.

Regrettably, he probably will be able to find someone.

Problem is that intelligence whistle-blowers wind up getting targeted by the Feds on trumped-up espionage charges - Obama turned that into an art form.

You aren’t talking about Chelsea Manning and Edward Snowden, are you? Neither of these were members of the IC who went through authorized procedures to report inappropriate conduct. Their behavior was not covered by official whistle-blower statutes.

In any case, Ms. Manning provided information to Wikileaks which, as is known now, coordinates with Russian intelligence. And Snowden worked with is living in Russia, which casts doubt on his motivations. As did his association with Glenn Greenwald

re: #9 Charles Johnson

Man, do I ever hate that son of a bitch in the White House.

Oops, did I say that out loud?

I just started a job about a month and a half ago. The guy who sits across from me, who I have to work with fairly closely, is a full-on MAGAt. I saw him reading Instapundit a few weeks back. A few days ago, I was dropping something off on his desk and he was reading Ann Coulter’s shitfest. Then at some point he posted a meme on his wall declaring Trump an unsung hero of 9/11, but the lamestream media is hiding this.

He’s a genuinely nice person and we work together well. He doesn’t bring this shit up, andI have no intention of purposely making an issue of any of this. That said, I can’t hide the massive disappointment I have that this guy is willingly supporting a fucking monster like Trump. I mean, Jesus Fucking Christ; he’s putting up pictures of a man who is willingly caging children. And that was before this intelligence whistleblowing thing just blew up.

This guy is well spoken and educated and for the fucking life of me, I will never understand how someone like that can look at someone like Trump and go “Yeah, that guy should hold the same office Lincoln and FDR did.”

Although given the sites he’s reading, I’m sure this guy has issues with anyone who isn’t white as a polar bear. Fucking MAGAts…you know what? It’s not just the MAGAts. You scratch any conservative/Republican, the racism eventually comes up. It’s just a matter of how well they can keep it under control.

Which these days, it isn’t that much anymore.
