So Donald Trump is helping ISIS (by allowing their fighters to escape), and the Iranian government (by turning a blind eye to people evading sanctions, at the same time he claims he’s fighting both groups.

Seriously, someone needs to be making ads juxtaposing 9/11 with Donald Trump saying how he now had the tallest building in New York, with pictures of ISIS fighters being freed.

Bollier apparently supported Democrats in statewide elections before switching parties. And it looks like the last straw for her was anti-transgender language in the state party platform. Hopefully, it’s a Democratic pick up and she’ll at least vote for cloture even if she doesn’t vote for final passage of bills.

On the bright side, it looks like the November debate is going to see fewer candidates on the stage. Annoyingly, though, some of the wrong candidates are going to be on the stage and some of the right ones are being left out.

Steyer and Yang have qualified while O’Rourke and Castro have not.

That’s disappointing. Beto and Castro obviously won’t be the nominee at this point but their voices especially on immigration are good to hear.

Abortion is the reason why Trump is the “man of God” for the Christian fundamentalists who support him.

In a similar manner, Boris can dangle abortion in front of the DUP (who are very much religious conservatives in many cases) to keep their support:

Abortion rights used to get DUP to back Brexit deal, says Stella Creasy

Labour MP Stella Creasy has accused the government of preparing to hand back control of abortion rights to Stormont to help curry favour with the DUP at a critical moment in the Brexit talks.

Creasy led a successful push in the Commons earlier this year to extend abortion rights to Northern Ireland - the only part of the UK where it remains illegal except in a very narrow set of circumstances. MPs amended the Northern Ireland (executive formation) bill, to say that the government in Westminster would be required to extend the right to abortion if the Northern Ireland assembly and executive at Stormont are not up and running by 21 October.

Trump’s percentage in Texas in 2016 (52%) was the lowest Republican total since 1996 when Dole won with 48.7%.

According to Morning Consult, his approval rating in Texas is 49-47 as of September. And according to RCP, he’s basically in the margin of error in Texas against everyone except Harris.

re: #124 Florida Panhandler

Trump is at the point now that he knows he is going to jail soon unless he can stay in office. To do that, he will call on “loyal troops” to form his own personal protection unit with oaths only to serve him. He is thinking the US Military will side with him and install him in office for life. He is wrong. The writing is all over the wall in that meeting room.

Trump doesn’t know shit because he’s incapable of comprehension (and he’s like a mushroom; kept in the dark by those around him).

Trump is grossly unfit for any office whatsoever, much less the presidency. On top of that he is either a willing traitor or an unwitting dupe of foreign powers that amounts to the same thing.

Every Republican enabler of Trump is more guilty of treason/espionage than Trump is, for the simple reason that their faculties are intact, while Trump is so far up his narcissist ass that what makes him feel good is his only reality.

To properly clean DC would require a purge of DC Republicans on a scale undreamed of by Stalin, with infinitely better cause.

Yep. The article stated that his character managed to be both interesting to adults and stay in a kids show, and I think he got to push it in Batman Beyond.

I have marveled (pun intended) that the people doing the DC cinematic universe didn’t just start with the Batman and Superman series. I know I’ve said it here before, and I know that it was Nolan’s influence. But they should find a way to work themselves into that. Maybe Gunn’s version of Suicide Squad can help with that.

And speaking of Nancy, the double moron (Wohl/Burkman) press conference that was going to “shake to halls of Congress to their very core” and was supposed to take place Monday was then moved to tomorrow ( and, I almost can’t type because I’m laughing so hard—Milo and for some reason, Kathy Griffin were supposed to attend) but then there are supposed to be wind gusts of 25 mph tomorrow, so they’ve moved it to next Monday, and they’ve asked Nancy to come and take a drug test, but (surprise surprise) she said no.

this part:

Trump turned to Pelosi and complained about former President Barack Obama’s “red line” over Syria before adding, “In my opinion, you are a third-grade politician.”

At that point, the genteel Rep. Steny Hoyer of Maryland, the House Majority Leader, interjected, “This is not useful.”

Pelosi and Hoyer stood and left the meeting. As they did, Trump said, “Goodbye, we’ll see you at the polls.”

From the White House driveway, Pelosi told reporters Trump was having some kind of “meltdown” inside. She said they had to leave because Trump was unable to grasp the reality of the situation.

Later, she would insist he even botched the insult, calling her “third-grade” rather than “third-rate.”

The depressing thing is that many people really are above the law. Republicans are mostly above the law, and the ultra-rich are almost entirely above the law.

Trump’s fatal mistake was to become president while being such a nincompoop that his crimes could not remain covered up even with the entirety of the GOP and 95% of the mainstream media having covering up his crimes as their only job.

Had Trump not become president, it is virtually certain that none of his major white collar crimes would have ever been properly investigated.

He’s their straight shooter who tells it like it is.

Stunning. They love him for it.

And ignoring the fact that a President Erdogan seems have paid this “straight-shooting” letter not the least bit of attention?

But it sounds so tough…..

I think Fox should actually be grateful for the “surveillance”: it’s probably the only viewership outside of the drool-cup demographic who is actually watching these buffoons.

I finally got to look at the list of House members who didn’t vote to condemn the troop pullout, dailykos.com, and to my surprise, John Ratcliffe isn’t on that list. To my not surprise, Tom Massie is.

Trump just became the first US official to confirm the presence of 50 US nuclear bombs based in Turkey. “We’re very confident” they’re safe, he told reporters, via WH Pool
US and Nato officials never talk about nuclear deployments abroad.

The large church looming over the Intermountain West of the United States made it into various news sources today, including the Guardian, and not for any good reason:

Mormon church strikes blow against Utah ban on conversion therapy

Church says rule prohibiting psychologists from using LGBTQ conversion therapy would fail to safeguard ‘religious beliefs’

theguardian.com

Conversion therapy is objectively harmful and opposed by reputable, legitimate counseling organizations. It also does not work. The Mormon Church should be ashamed for wanting this to remain legal for children.

True, but also we saw why. Ukraine shut off the faucet of evidence under pressure. What we did not see were all the instances where the executive branch influence quietly had a chilling effect.

Note that the Meuller report was blunted by WH manipulations and the national media’s disgusting credulity towards Republicans.
