In Which Donald Trump Says the US Constitution Is Fake News

Politics • Views: 26,970

MP4 Video

In yet another deranged press event (it’s not a “press conference,” really) our horrible president* actually refers to one of the important sections of the US Constitution as “phony,” in between crazed rants about Barack Obama and lies about losing money while in office.

Get this con man out of the Oval Office, please.

He really is quite honestly the poster child for GOP cowardice. Ohhh no, the Kurds are angry at American troops. Yeah they have every right to be. I know the rank and file didn’t make the decision but the Kurds aren’t in the position to show their anger directly to him.

I guess the GOP has decided they’re gonna go down with the ship. I have to admit, I’m a bit surprised - if there’s one thing Republicans excel at, it’s saving their own skins.

Maybe we’ll just have to wait and see as we get closer to next year’s election. If the GOP’s internal polling indicates an electoral tsunami is about to sweep them out of power, they might start turning on Trump at that point in a last-ditch effort to save themselves.

Best part of her “shattering” the world record? Her record was broken in the next heat.

It was Friday, October 12, and both women were hanging out at the master’s track world championships, held this year in Carson, California. Erickson did McKinnon’s track bike fit last summer, and she wanted a pic with her client after McKinnon broke the 200-meter sprint world record for women in the 35-39 age bracket.

The record only stood for a few minutes until another cyclist—Sarah Fader of Boulder, Colorado—broke it again. Erickson noted this detail in her post, but it didn’t matter. Within minutes of McKinnon sharing her achievement online, negative comments flooded the post.

Yeah, but that’s sort of a retread of the Great Gay Scaremongering of the 80s and early 90s. oh muh gawdzzz! we can’t be havin’ some gay boy teachin the PE, they’ll be seeing our boys naked in the locker room… and ya just know them lezbianas are going to be lookin at our gurls in the showers!!!

This is a new angle which is really weird (to me at least) because I can’t imagine any male athlete would be willing to sit out a year to undergo hormone therapy as part of a transition just so they could win a competition. And that’s basically how they try and frame these stories for their audience… a cross-dressing guy just trying to beat up on women in sports.

I don’t deny Bernie’s appeal. What I really worry about Bernie is I don’t like who he has surrounded himself with and I really think a lot of his supporters don’t know what a President actually does. When I say, I want an anti-Trump to replace Trump. I mean someone in personality too. Bernie reminds me way too much of Trump sometimes and it’s a shame that some people I know who are genuinely progressive minded can’t see that because they see his promises and ignore the truth which is that the guy’s a bit of a dick but even if he weren’t, I would be very concerned after this heart attack. He’d turn 80 his first year in office and he’s had a heart attack. If we knew Trump had a heart attack, we would rightfully make it an issue.

HappyWarrior  Oct 21, 2019 • 2:14:34pm

I think tRump would absolutely destroy Bernie in the general, however. He’d call him a commie and the whole thing would be over and done.

A couple of years before I took a job teaching at a high school just outside of Lafayette, IN Shannon graduated from that school. He had been in a local band, but headed to New Orleans, I was told. He was just getting semi-famous while I was there.

In those three years of teaching, I also did on average 100-200 miles a week at least cycling. My favorite route took me past the home of Izzy Stradlin, and I lived about 1/2 from Jefferson High School where Izzy and Bill Bailey went to school.

It’s no wonder they all left. The music scene in West Lafayette/Lafayette sucked hard.

re: #82 Sir John Barron

Not sure what the key takeaway here is: either somebody in Barr’s DOJ is warning the WH that it just can’t appoint anyone it wants to DHS; or that the WH seems incapable of fulfilling one of it’s basic responsibilities, that of finding and appointing qualified officials to government leadership.

Let’s select the incapable option. Even the few people left in the country who would work for trump realise this is the worst job in the US and only those going insane with power - or who can’t get a job anyplace else would want to do it.

It would seem the GOP in congress are the only folks left who want to work for trump & I have no idea why that is so. They have their judges, they have their tax cut, why not impeach him now?

I like her too. Silly thing to say I agree but it’s all gotten so absurd now. Kamala to me represents the new generation of leaders, someone who isn’t as naive about their Republican colleagues as Biden is but not as leftism or bust like Bernie is.

I like Kamala on her own merits. Not in comparison to anything but the raw needs the Office of the President will have. “Okay, better than Trump” is an inadequate measure. We need a firebrand smart as anyone in the office lately. Older is a bad idea, sorry to say.

I also thought the Twitter thing was kind of weird to campaign on but the difference between the things that are allowed to hurt Harris and the genuinely fucked up bullshit that Bernie, Biden, Warren and even Buttigieg are allowed to skate on is goddamned stark. Maybe Harris shouldn’t have kept repeating something that should have just been a one-off observation, but all she’s really saying is that Twitter should enforce its goddamned rules, which shouldn’t be controversial.

Harris was Hillary’ed from the very beginning. The BernieBros and Bots were out in full force to destroy her (as they are to destroy Warren). Every candidate has flaws and social media can do a good number on destroying anyone’s standing, especially if the Russians have decided you are a threat. Most people judge based on rumors they have heard without having the interest, skill, or time to really investigate the truth. And the MSM has proved of little value in pursuing and publishing the truth.

And now we’re seeing the campaign to ‘Hillary’ Warren again, this time in earnest. Showing it doesn’t matter who, they’re going to try and tear down any Dem candidate, but especially the strong female ones.

The wife and I played hooky today and hit the city for the day. We planned to go to the Hard Rock to see the items they’re auctioning off this weekend (Cobain’s custom Fender Mustang is among them), but all they had on exhibit was Madonna’s ‘Like A Virgin’ dress and some clothes that Olivia Newton-John wore in ‘Grease.’ So we hit the Highline instead and ended up in the amazing Vessel at Hudson Yards.

We made it up to 8 of the 10 stories before it just got too skeery. Pretty amazing.
