3 Indiana Judges Suspended After White Castle Brawl That Left 2 Of Them Wounded

Three Indiana judges have been suspended for “behaving in an injudicious manner” after a failed attempt to visit a strip club led to a drunken brawl outside an Indianapolis White Castle that ended with two of the judges being shot.

Not exactly mugshots, but they’ll do.

In the US, congressional aides and Korea experts familiar with the talks say the President’s $4.7 billion demand came out of thin air, sending State and Defense Department officials scrambling to justify the number with a slew of new charges that may include Seoul paying some costs for US personnel present on the peninsula and for troops and equipment that rotate through

3 off-duty officers dropped off their children at a California school. Seconds later, gunfire erupted

i do not minimize what they did, because clearly they had no idea what they were going to encounter.
though this seems a bit…off

Three off-duty officers dropping off their children Thursday at a Southern California school rushed in seconds after gunfire erupted, likely saving lives in a shooting that left two dead, authorities said.

After shooting one student, he cleared a jam on the weapon and fired an additional four rounds at others, then himself.
“That ended it all in 16 seconds,” the sheriff added.

yes the three off duty officers who were right there, entered within seconds, and that means a lot. however

The officers saw a gun and figured the threat was likely over and focused on saving victims, he said.

yes they certainly rendered first aid and saved lives
they didnt have anything to do with stopping the shooting.
the shooter had already shot himself and ended it

three cops who couldnt have been much closer than armed ‘resource officers’

further, it didnt conveniently take place in a classroom so any armed teacher (carrying or not) would have been just as late and just as ineffective.

16 seconds

Very much of the old generation that does not understand modern media.

The German conservative CDU party really stepped in it when a young German YouTuber went viral with his criticism of the CDU.

The response on the part of their new Chairwoman, Annagrette Kramp-Karrenbauer, (Angela Merkel had already stepped down as party head but will remain Chancellor until the next election) was to publicly ponder whether the Internet needed more regulation.

That was totally the wrong response and really showed how far behind the times they had fallen.

There’s elements of both bribery and extortion in this case, as initially the White House seemed to try the former (“announce the investigations and we’ll give you a WH visit”), but when Zelensky drug his heels they switched to the latter (“we’ll release the funds when you give us a public statement!”).

Wonderful. Just fucking wonderful.

The expert on the hung dolls in Skåne and Blekinge: “Never heard of it in Sweden”

The case of the hung dolls in Skåne and Blekinge is unique in Sweden, according to expert Anna-Lena Lodenius. However, according to Expos editor-in-chief Daniel Poohl, we can expect more similar and startling actions from the white power movement in the future. At the same time, the Security Police confirms that they are following the case.

Ronneby’s crisis and emergency preparedness officer has confirmed to SVT News Blekinge that a right-wing organization is the sender of the patches stuck on the dolls. However, no organization has officially taken action. The author and journalist Anna-Lena Lodenius has long reviewed both right- and left-wing extremists and, in her opinion, the case of the threatening dolls is unique.
- I have never heard of this in Sweden, she says When it comes to dolls and messages, Anna-Lena Lodenius’s only reference is the German terror group Nationalsozialistischer Untergrund, who were active in Germany in the early 2000s.
- In their early adolescence they hung dolls over freeways. That’s the only case I can come on at all.
- How serious would you say this is?
- It is extremely serious.
Anna-Lena Lodenius, an expert on extremism, does not know of any previous Swedish case where dolls in strings have been hung outside the town hall.
Police Follows Case
“The hung police are primarily a matter for the police.” The Security Police is tasked with protecting the central government and in this case it seems that this is a police case, he says, adding: “But we are following the incident.” pay attention “According to Daniel Poohl, CEO and Editor-in-Chief of Expo, the purpose of the campaign is to create awareness.” You know that this creates fear and worry. You get more headlines on this than running around and handing out flyers in mailboxes a whole night. And it takes about the same amount of time.
- Unfortunately, I think we can expect more of this kind of startling and reactionary political action. However, according to Daniel Poohl, we can expect more similar actions from the white power movement.
- Does this type of organization earn attention?
- All organizations want attention. Everyone wants to be seen, heard and make themselves relevant. It is also a way to mobilize their own links and attract new followers. The consequence is also that it becomes a scare tactic that makes politicians, their relatives and others engaged in politics nervous and scared.
The police more on the offensive.
Which power movement has moved forward positions in recent years, not least last year, makes the state enough to stave off
- You can always say that you can do more. The police have many crimes to solve, but it is clear that the greater the extent to which one can focus part of their focus on these types of extreme groupings, the better, he says and continues:
- Not because their crimes are always very serious but because they creates a lot of anxiety in society and creates conflicts. However, I would like to admit that the police have begun to take these organizations much more seriously.

Thank goodness for the ACLU! They’ve made some serious mistakes (like defending the Neo Nazis who marched in Charlottesville) but art doing a great job trying to hold the Trump regime accountable.

They are one of my three monthly contributions. The SPLC and the Washington Post are the other two.

Once again the myth of good guys with the gun stopping the bad guys is blown up.

No one stopped the mass shooting before the shooter shot himself. It was over before anyone reacted, and the carnage was already becoming all too apparent. The off-duty cops went to save victims, since there was nothing else for them to do.

19 seconds. 2 dead, multiple casualties.

That’s not a win for the good guy with a gun. That’s another abject failure, that comes on the heels of the Parkland and El Paso mass shootings, where good guys were present and/or engaged within a minute, and still left with mass casualties.

Once again the myth of good guys with the gun stopping the bad guys is blown up.

If you choose to defend your home and family with a gun, then I guess that is your good right and very few people are out to contest that. We just want reasonable limits on how they are registered and regulated.

And defending your own home is a much different matter than dealing with an active shooter situation in a public setting. To do so effectively requires years of training and experience, good situational awareness and nerves of steel.

That is not a skills set you can simply purchase at a gun show or over the counter of the Wal-Mart sporting goods department.

Even home defense is something that requires skill and a measure of training.

You know, like knowing not to open fire when you don’t know what’s behind a wall, the kind of ammo you’re using, etc., that could kill/maim loved ones elsewhere in your home, or expose others nearby to harm.

Active shooter situations are something that even most cops aren’t trained to deal with.

That’s why they call SWAT/ESU. Those guys train constantly to deal with those kinds of situations. That’s why when you see active shooter situations, the ones who primarily deal with evacuating sites are the regular beat cops, while SWAT/ESU are the ones that go after the shooter(s).

The bulkshit is strong with the GOP and Trumpworld.

A single call in which no crimes were committed does not eliminate the fact that a totally different call involved multiple federal felonies, implicates multiple people in Trumpworld, and explicitly involves Trump in extortion of a foreign official.

It’s entirely irrelevant. Everyone needs to know this, and Trump is flailing around.

Businesses with women CEO’s fail at a much higher rate than businesses with men CEO’s, because… they only appoint women to the job when the company’s already in serious trouble and they’re desperate to try the only thing they haven’t tried yet.

If you ever watch the show, see how many times you can solve the puzzles without having to have the first letters of the words. And they have made it harder. There’s now one that’s a crossword, where they fit four or five words that overlap but that’s the only thing they have in common.

I’m a little younger than you but I work hard at keeping my mind as sharp as possible. I saw what happened to my dad and uncle. My uncle retired to play golf and enjoy life and he told me that he wished he hadn’t because he lost so much of his mental acuity. My dad had dementia. It was an awful time. I do everything I can to stave that off for as long as I possibly can.

This always brings up the question…is it better to lose the body or the mind?

I would rather lose my mind (what I value above all else) because I would rather not know that I have declined like that. (I would actually prefer a quick death, but that’s not really up to me.)

Now that’s not in the constitution. They don’t serve at the pleasure of the president, they take an oath to serve the country and the constitution.

He does have the authority to hire and fire them. But they are not appointed simply to do his personal bidding, which is something he cannot grasp.

They are not required to go along with crimes that Trump wants them to do. They are required to follow the law.

An individual, except the President, elected or appointed to an office of honor or profit in the civil service or uniformed services, shall take the following oath: “I, AB, do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter. So help me God.” This section does not affect other oaths required by law.

5 USC 3331

So, if Amb. sees Trump attempting to commit crimes and malfeasance, it’s her duty and obligation to report it, and not to further Trump actions. The oath is to the Constitution, not to Trump.

They are where I first heard of the yearly Reagan celebration party. But last night, the description of the hearings was described as “both sides being a circus.” When you start seeing them shifting to both sides, the idea that the GOP isn’t on the up-and-up is started to enter their reality. All this may do at this stage is depress turnout, but I’ll take it.

Sondland testifies publicly next week. 45 minutes of grilling by Goldman. He lied under oath about the restaurant phone call in his closed door deposition. What’s he going to say? Will he plead the fifth for an hour? Will he rat out Trump? That’ll be a great episode. American Conservative’s token anti-Trump blogger is the first to comment on today at their site.

Now he is publicly attacking a witness in the impeachment inquiry, which almost certainly exposes him to new charges of illegal conduct. When someone as powerful as the president publicly goes after a witness, it is bound to have an intimidating effect on her and other witnesses. Trump has responded to an investigation into his abuse of power by committing more abuses that make impeachment that much more likely and necessary.

Of course the red-hat crowd thinks Trump is a “tough guy”: he’s a loudmouthed braggart who wastes no opportunity to loudly insult his perceived “enemies” often and viciously, and on-the-record. And since they are utterly convinced his “enemies” are their “enemies”, they’ll cheer it on like crazy.

Trump could float idea of pardoning Stone, but that would backfire since a pardon means Stone can’t claim any immunity to testify in case against Trump or other parties. Stone would have to allocute to all the criminal conduct, and if he then tries asserting 5A, then there’s possibility of other crimes that Stone committed that the pardon doesn’t cover.

Stone would necessarily implicate Trump and his family. None of this benefits Trump, not that it matters. Trump might pardon because he thinks he’s the smartest guy in the room, even as it opens up other avenues to investigate.
