Drunk History Tells the Strange Story of Willie Hitler [VIDEO]

Humor • Views: 27,067

YouTube

Adolf Hitler’s nephew, William, left for America to fight against the Nazis in World War II.

About Drunk History:
Based on the popular web series, Drunk History is the liquored-up narration of our nation’s history. Host Derek Waters, along with an ever-changing cast of actors and comedians, travels across the country to present the rich tales that every city in this land has to offer. Booze helps bring out the truth. It’s just that sometimes the truth is a little incoherent.

This is the end result of what that motherfucker Dumbya and THE DICK did to destroy that country.

My son died so that Iraq could become a country fucked up beyond all repair.

I want Dumbya and THE DICK to burn for all eternity in the lowest level of hell for their war crimes.

That was foreseeable. As is the predictable whining from wingnuts that, after all the screaming that he was being denied representation and the ability to call witnesses, he now would be crazy to do either since it would make impeachment “legitimate.”

Does an own-goal count as a sacrifice to the Tree of Liberty?

A man was shot to death by the handmade device he made to protect his home

A Maine man was killed by a device he made for the front door of his home, police say.

Ronald Cyr, 65, called 911 on the evening of Thanksgiving Day and reported he had been shot, the Van Buren Police Department said.
When officers arrived, they discovered a device on the front door of the man’s home that was designed to fire a handgun if anyone attempted to enter, the department said.
Police found other unknown devices around the house and contacted the state’s bomb squad.
After an hours-long investigation, authorities determined Cyr — who later succumbed to his injuries —- was hit after an “unintentional discharge of one of his homemade devices,” the department said.

Isn’t this the hearing merely to examine the meaning of impeachment, by legal scholars? He has another few days (the 4th? the 6th?) to accept involvement in an actual impeachment hearing.

At least, that is my understanding!

For the nearly two years since her name first made the papers, she’s been publicly silent (she did have a closed-door interview with House members in July 2018). I asked her why she was willing to talk now. “Honestly, his demeaning fake orgasm was really the straw that broke the camel’s back,” she says. The president called out her name as he acted out an orgasm in front of thousands of people at a Minneapolis rally on Oct. 11, 2019.

That was the moment Page decided she had to speak up. “I had stayed quiet for years hoping it would fade away, but instead it got worse,” she says. “It had been so hard not to defend myself, to let people who hate me control the narrative. I decided to take my power back.”

General Election ITV debate: Five talking points from Sunday’s face-off between seven politicians

Top of the questions was:

Donald Trump

Parties clashed over the US president - who arrives in the UK on Monday ahead of a meeting of Nato leaders.

Boris Johnson has already confirmed he will meet with Trump in London however, a number of the candidates such as Swinson said they would not offer the controversial figurehead the same hospitality.

In some of the strongest exchanges, Swinson said that, while the relationship with the US was important, Mr Trump, who had spoken of sexually assaulting women, did not share British values.

“The last thing we should have done is to roll out the red carpet for a state visit,” she said.

But, Brexit Party leader Nigel Farage warned it would be a “great mistake” for British politicians to demonise Donald Trump.

Mr Farage said that, while some of Mr Trump’s comments were wrong, it was essential to consider the national interest in maintaining the relationship with the US.

“It was crass and it was crude and it was wrong - men say dreadful things sometimes. If all of us were called out for what we did on a night out after a drink, none of us would …” he said.

[…]

Price said Mr Farage was wrong to defend the US president.

“It can never be acceptable for a man to talk about grabbing a woman’s pussy. If you think it is, you should be ashamed of yourself,” he said.

Sturgeon, Scotland’s First Minister said Boris Johnson was trying to pursue the same “strong man” tactics of the president.

“That in my view is not what the UK or any it needs. Donald Trump’s attitudes are wrong and they are dangerous. In Boris Johnson we have got somebody who is trying to be like him,” she said.

I really don’t know which end is up on that story but the one thing bothers me the most is the complete lack of introspection surrounding it. We’re so accustomed to the post 911 authoritarian zeitgeist of military & police worship that we don’t even examine why this kind of bullshit can consistently capture national attention.

Also, the timing, it’s almost like the system knows it’s Thanksgiving Weekend, and needs to feed wingnut fuel into the easily fired up older dumb white people under threat of undergoing cognitive awareness by osmosis via their younger, hipper, more diverse and better educated relatives.

I think they’re worried about just creating invulnerable Captain America. But, having just recently watched Shazam!, I think they should let those writers do it. Create the Luthor that exists in the comic books and cartoons, the one where Superman’s brawn alone will not defeat him.

Also, I’ve watched and read One Punch Man (Japanese character meant to spoof some manga/anime), and so have a lot of other people. A lot of people will watch invulnerable characters.

Update his wardrobe and his personal mannerisms, and he can fit seamlessly into the modern millennial culture as a shy nerdy fellow who plays games, hangs out with a few select friends, and is generally really nice and helpful but introverted and reserved.

The shy nerdy guy who’s six pack has a six pack would be an interesting thing to work around.

re: #113 Belafon

I think they’re worried about just creating invulnerable Captain America. But, having just recently watched Shazam!, I think they should let those writers do it. Create the Luthor that exists in the comic books and cartoons, the one where Superman’s brawn alone will not defeat him.

Also, I’ve watched and read One Punch Man (Japanese character meant to spoof some manga/anime), and so have a lot of other people. A lot of people will watch invulnerable characters.

If it’s Supes that they’re worried about reworking, and not Clark Kent himself, that should be easy: Just don’t paste, “America, Fuck Yeah,” all over him. I get it: Superman, “Truth, Justice, and the American Way.” But if you tone down the blind patriotism - or maybe make it a teachable moment in Supes’s character arc - then you have a character that is relatable to a modern audience. Someone who appreciates America but wants to work to fix its flaws.

I do remember, back in 98, the Java One show I went to having a hot nerd contest both male and female (that wasn’t what they called it, but that’s what it was). And I do know some that stay in shape especially for costumes at the con. So, yeah, there are some nerds in shape. But Clark does take it to another level. That would be funny, though, Clark going to the gym and trying to appear like he’s struggling to bench press 200 lbs. “‘Only do 50 pound curls,’ he whispers to himself.”

But see, that gives you an opening for some levity in the storytelling. Superheroes don’t have to be dark, Marvel did an excellent job showing us that. Make the struggle of an invulnerable super-powered hero humorous, but in the context of the life we understand today.

You’ve just described the plot to Captain America: The Winter Soldier. But there are definitely things to explore on that front with Superman, especially with how willing America would embrace someone like Luthor.

Clark Kent uncovers a massive scandal in the US Government and becomes a marked man. They botch a hit on him. Perry White urges Clark to go into hiding. Clark then flees to Gotham City where Bruce Wayne provides a false identity for him. Clark is given a job in Wayne Enterprises where he can continue his investigative work. Lois uncovers a Russian plot to manipulate the 2020 vote count and she becomes a target of hit men. Bruce and Clark get the Justice League together to expose the scandal. State of the Union address in Congress—The JLA appears and exposes the President as a Russian agent. Superman credits Clark and Lois for uncovering the scandal.

True, but the movie didn’t explore too deep into the politics of the Accords (probably for the better for what the movie set out to accomplish) and had Tony as a strong foil who wasn’t nearly as adversarial as he could have been given the source material.

For Superman, I could see it being much more focused specifically on an American political situation, and much more apparent about a gov’t trying to lift Superman up as a propaganda figure he’d absolute abhor.

It’d probably be more along the lines of Winter Soldier with the spy thriller aspects traded in for political thriller aspects with as much time given to him as Clark Kent as Superman, using both his and Lois’ reputations and connections to expose the propaganda campaign. I could even see Bizarro being used as a Superman decoy for whoever is in charge of the campaign that, rather than being the deformed opposite of Supes, is an ideological opposite (think the famous Captain America “What If” where he was thawed in the 80s rather than the 60s).

Just so you know how much current flows through traction power circuits. The following is the aftermath of the return conductor (in picture) getting a less than solid connection to ground.

So it arced a wee bit. If I remember the original post right, you couldn’t use a radio within 50 meters of it, and it was loud…

Z & I have coffeed our way from Detroit to NY & back and to Alabama & back.

Starbucks is overrated. You can get better coffee at:
1. Wawa (BEST coffee in the U.S.)

I’m impressed and shocked that a Detroit native knows what Wawa is. They pretty much own the coffee market in South Jersey/Philly/Western PA Burbs. They’re in a building frenzy right now in the Delaware Valley, partly because Royal Farms is making a big play in the area.

It’s literally turning into a Starbucks deal where there’s a Wawa roughly a mile or two from the next one.

We’re there a lot. Funny thing is I’ve never had their coffee because my partner and I among the 283 people in the US who don’t drink the stuff. Shit, nine times out of ten, I don’t even get their other star product, the hoagie, because I had a problem years ago with ordering two at a time.

In the movie Iron Lady, you can almost get a sense of pity for her. But that is just good cinematography.

Still, it does convey how the other Tory party pricks looked down on her as a “shopkeeper’s daughter” just as they look down on everyone who does not share their pedigree, privileges private schooling and Oxbridge degrees.

There’s a significant number of items on Amazon/Ebay and probably other services that are not ‘human created’, as in, no person sat down and thought “I will make a product of Christmas ornaments decorated with concentration camp images”.

Instead, there are companies that just generate a huge number of items from common phrases and images stolen off the internet printed on them.

Those items aren’t kept in stock, they’re only printed if someone actually orders them.

And in this case, Amazon doesn’t want to spend the time/money checking what people are listing on its site, and the company advertising the product didn’t put in a “no holocaust” feature in the code they use to autogenerate the product ideas.

Clark then flees to Gotham City where Bruce Wayne provides a false identity for him. Clark is given a job in Wayne Enterprises where he can continue his investigative work. Lois uncovers a Russian plot to manipulate the 2020 vote count and she becomes a target of hit men. Bruce and Clark get the Justice League together to expose the scandal. here’s stupid watergate’s ‘18 minute gap’

Here’s the Proof that Trump’s “No Quid Pro Quo” Call Never Happened

At the heart of the impeachment inquiry, members of Congress may have been mistakenly led to believe that there were two phone calls between President Donald Trump and Ambassador Gordon Sondland in early September—with the second call having the possibility of helping the President’s case. That’s not what happened. There was only one call, and it was highly incriminating.
.
.
.
As this article was in the publication process at Just Security, the Washington Post published a report raising doubts about the existence of the September 9 call. The analysis that follows is consistent with the Post’s report and, among other points, shows why Sondland’s “no quid pro quo” call is in fact the same as the September 7th call that Morrison reported to NSC lawyers on September 7th.

Wingnut Repubs love to portray this as a “trial” in which Trump is being denied “due process.” Yet in any criminal court, simply refusing to show up or send representation at all because you’ve got other obligations that fall on the same date as your trial would not earn your any sympathy at all with the court or the jury. i’m gonna repeat this as much as necessary:

- When the House votes and adopts articles of impeachment, the President is impeached. Period. Full stop.
- At this point the President becomes a permanent member of a small and ignominious group. Forever.

- The Senate only votes to remove from office or not, and/or disqualify from holding another future office.
- There is nothing more and nothing less.
- There is no guilty or not guilty, nor is there any sense of innocence or exoneration.

The House has spoken. The President is impeached.

There is no ‘acquittal’.

One thing that does upset me is that there is going to be an effort to impeach the next Democratic President whenever the Republicans regain the House. It won’t be done for the right reasons. It will be done simply for petty revenge. That doesn’t change the fact that Trump needs to be impeached but show why the Republican Party needs to be wiped out and become a permanent minority party and eventually a dead party.

And it’s really only a narrative that their Fox News-obsessed base is going to buy into. Despite the best efforts of the BSAB corporate press, the worst they can say is that impeachment poll numbers have remained steady around 50%. That means that more people in America feel Trump deserves to be impeached than did Clinton or Nixon. I remember my folks in Houston bringing their own bottle and buying a mixed drink setup and club membership in one fee.

Yeah, Ice Houses. They had beer and wine license, but not liquor. I would go to one down the road from my apt. One strange rule they had (this was in the 80’s when I was living in Houston), you had to lay the bottle down on the bar. It couldn’t be standing up on the bar. Don’t know why this was but that seemed to be the rule.

Rockwall was dry until about ten years ago. We went to Chili’s and asked for something, and they had to take my driver’s license, enter me into their club, and then get me the drink.

Enough new people finally moved in that we changed the law on it. If you look at a map, you will see a town just to the east of Rockwall called Mobile City. It contains a trailer park and an alcohol store, whose entire existence was to support a store just outside the city.

It’s why I’m fairly optimistic. More people want Trump gone than they ever did Nixon or Clinton. And I think the R’s deep down know this which is why they want to attack the process itself.

Biggest issue that the Repubs have at present is that Trump’s unpopularity is effectively baked in, there’s no real way to spin it as a result of the impeachment hearings or prior investigations. So the best they can possibly do is try to argue that as much as people may not want him as president*, the Dems deserve to win even less for how “mean” they’ve been to him. And when they make those arguments, it’s not simply about impeachment, as they genuinely believe that if Dems had just rolled over, he’d be a much more popular president*.

I remember going to one bar at a ski area in Utah (Alta, ISTR), and there was a little closet off the end of the bar that they told me had been licensed as a “State Liquor Store”. When you ordered a drink, the bartender had to go over to the closet, get you your (little airline-size) bottle, and ring it up for you separately: and, IIRC, you had to pick it up yourself: they couldn’t “serve” you.

I still recall my one visit (1980) to a State Store in Salt Lake City: a shabby storefront in a crummy part of town: worn linoleum floors and splintery plywood shelves with an inadequate stock of mediocre booze sold at exorbitant prices. And I’ve rarely seen any store so crowded: Black Friday all week long….

Over the last decade or so, E’town gradually went wet. (Started with wine at a sit-down restaurant. No distilleries there—that’s in Nelson County. (Local option-is county based.) That created the KY Konumdrum—Christian County was wet, Bourbon County was dry.

In California a lot of gas stations with mini-marts sell beer and wine (easy license to get), some might sell the hard stuff too (if they were able to get that license, much more difficult, as I understand it). Though usually to get the hard stuff you’ll need to find a 7/11 or equivalent style store, or go to a grocery store.

Heck, there is still law on the books that says a parent can buy an alcoholic drink in a bar or restaurant and give it to their minor child to drink and it’s perfectly fine. Random alcohol laws are always fascinating to me. Like bars in California have last call at 2 am (usually called around 1:30 or 1:45) but can open back up at 6 am. Can’t have booze outside unless there is an enclosed patio.
