re: #8 Dread Pirate

Democrats rushed to impeach without evidence, but we don’t want to hear any evidence because it’d be bad for Trump, so there’s no need for a trial that the Democrats rushed.

Let’s just ignore that there’s plenty of evidence directly implicating Trump since Trump openly admitted to the misconduct. Let’s further ignore that Trump personally is blocking anyone from testifying that could shed light on his actions. He wont allow them to testify under oath or to share information and documents, even though it was a perfect call according to him. None of that makes any sense until you realize that there’s precisely dick that clears Trump of these charges. No one will clear him under oath. Trump will be further implicated in crimes, so the GOP is left spinning furiously that this isn’t impeachable because Democrats can’t prove a crime occurred because they lack material evidence that Trump is withholding to obstruct the very impeachment (and which includes an article relating to obstruction of Congress on this very matter).

people that work for him, stated he did a crime
other civil servants who overheard various parts of various conversations corroborate the three items above…

Now if you want to vote Not Guilty, that’s your prerogative, just don’t expect anyone to get arrested when someone assaults and robs you, because that’s just a matter of perception….

25

re: #19 Jebediah, RBG

I would figure that Hillary’s legal team would likely file for dismissal as Tulsi is a public figure and she wasn’t identified by Hillary.

On the facts, nothing substantiates the case. But then again, Clinton’s team could also request expedited discovery to force Tulsi to drop the case.

its about publicity, not winning. tulsi is shopping her next career.

since clinton didnt mention anyone by name and tulsi isnt the only female candidate, she’d have to argue that the only person the original no-name quote could be referring to is herself.

Coffee got CL’ed a few threads ago. But if anybody wants real Kona coffee and doesn’t want to spend hours searching through all kinds of websites, go to the source and buy from the locals. The stuff is $20lb out of the back of a car in front of Costco at times.

Here’s the KonaWeb Cam. I used to look at it planning my life out here. I sold them this current cam a few years ago.

The OK sign is def racist but nobody is paying attention to when and why. Might be a project for me to document. It started being co-opted by the 4/8Chan fringe when Trump started doing it while he was running. Alt-Reichers started doing it (Pepe memes) and once people noticed, it cloaks itself under a joke/just kidding/trolling/LOL it’s just a game dummy narrative, which itself further propagates with the new cloaking of ‘just a joke you SJW pussy.’

Our language and it’s evolution is developing at a much faster rate now.

With your indulgence, I’m promoting this from 2 strings back just for the wonder of the thing:
re: #173 Dread Pirate

cool

When I was a kid, practically every text-book discussion of atoms started out with something like, “Nobody has ever seen an atom, but we know they are there.” Now we have this.

It’s all true. The world moves on, human progress is real, the arc of the universe bends toward justice.
When angry old doofi talk about how much better things used to be, they are really talking about how much better they used to be.
I am not quite ready to wind up my endeavors in this world, but there are no guarantees at age 70 1/2. If I run out of time later today, I am still glad I have lived long enough to see all that I have seen and to learn all that I have learned.

Dangerman (slowly converting a pool into a pond)  Jan 23, 2020 • 3:25:10pm

What is he up to?

After the first day of opening arguments on Wednesday, during which seven House impeachment managers — acting as prosecutors — laid out their case against the president, Gaetz told Politico they presented their case to the public as if it were “cable news,” and he praised their use of multimedia.

Meanwhile, the defense team’s case looked like “an eighth-grade book report,” Gaetz told Politico. “Actually, no, I take that back,” he said, adding that an eighth-grader would know how to use PowerPoint and iPads

Gaetz? MATT GAETZ is saying this?

He’s pissy because Trump didn’t name him to the ‘impeachment team’ in retaliation for Gaetz talking about limiting Trump’s war powers.

Let them fight, and pray for injuries.

Though I haven’t actually watched any of Schiff’s presentation, I’m guessing, from Eric Trump’s carping, it must be as inspiring and on-the-mark as anything ever.

It really is an easy call: whatever Don Jr. and Eric (aka Dope and Dopier) tweet out, just assume reality is probably 180 degrees opposite…..

In my opinion, your assumption is correct. I think Schiff has been absolutely fantastic (as have they all, actually.)

There have been a couple times when Gaetz didn’t seem like a total jerk; for example, he supported Kate Hill and was opposed to her being driven from Congress. It always seems out of character when he behaves like a decent person — it’s natural to suspect an ulterior motive. And maybe there is.

A Bernie candidacy communicates that some people want to take the country in a radically new direction in pursuit of equality but have no practical plans for overcoming the power of their opponents. It’ll “just happen.”

One of the things Congress doesn’t do much of is overturn SCOTUS rulings. If they rule that public spending has to include religious schools, they should pass a law overturning it. And if SCOTUS rules against that, then tax the churches.

Wasn’t Rudy supposed to write a 20-page report on all the Biden corruption he’d found in Ukraine, and brief the DOJ and the Congress?

Wasn’t that in early December that all that was promised? And still, nothing?

This is exactly like when Trump promised Melania was going to give a press conference to answer questions about her immigration status, or that Joe Arpaio was going to present a what he’d found in Hawaii regarding Obama’s birth, or any number of other times when Trump promised something “within a week or so” that never, ever appeared.

It’s all bullshit, and Giuliani has adopted the method.

Nah, set up a special program where Islamic and Wiccan and Hindu (etc) schools can apply to receive the same amount of funding as Christian schools.
