In Which Donald Trump Lies About Testing for Americans Returning From Abroad

MP4 Video

Trump says US citizens returning to the US from abroad are being heavily, tremendously tested.

This is another lie.

As of this post, it has dropped 8151 points since then.

Annnd it just hit a 2200 point drop on the day. Damn…

Will the media now start holding Trump accountable for the lies and debunk them in real time as he’s saying them. It’s impossible for Dan Dale to to this on his own (and I think we’ll break him if this keeps up). Trump is a mortal threat to everyone on the entire planet, because if we don’t contain it here - the disease will spread elsewhere and back into places that have thus far managed to contain the spread.

Do the labs processing these tests have the chemicals necessary to process these tests in a timely fashion so that doctors have the results?

If that answer is anything but no (and it IS no), why the fuck is it no and what the fuck is Trumpworld doing to expedite that.

re: #20 Hecuba’s daughter

It’s entirely counterintuitive. Trump operates on reactionary know nothing principle - if he doesn’t know he doesn’t care. But public health requires knowing counts, so the more tests done and the more people you identify, the easier public health authorities can contact trace and limit/delay the spread or contain it entirely.

I fear that opportunity is gone given the delays.

Tremendous volatility.

Remember, every stock that is sold gives the seller money to do … something.

If you want to park your money in Treasuries - a usual thing - now you have the problem of finding some to buy… and so many buyers means Treasuries are priced to essentially give you no meaningful return.

Every crash is an opportunity to buy. So people go looking for bargains.

“Crises clarify. The bigger the crisis, the more the clarity, which is why the incompetence, dishonesty, and sheer callousness of the Trump Presidency have been clearer in recent days than ever before. As the coronavirus, as of Wednesday an official pandemic, spreads, the lives of Americans depend on the decisions made—or not made, as the case may be—by a President uniquely ill-suited to command in this type of public-health catastrophe. In that sense, the last few weeks may well have been the most clarifying of Donald Trump’s Presidency…”

Not a doctor and don’t play one on tv. 5 weeks is far beyond the typical self-isolation timeframe, so you’re probably okay (and distance appears to play a role too - how close did those players get to you makes a difference).

If you were within 6 feet, higher chance than say being 20 feet away.

To be sure, maybe check with your health practitioner (I’m not a doc; standard rules apply).

Trump had Maria, and then doubled down by having an even more disastrous response to covid19. Trump’s taking all the worst failures of past administrations and applying every last bad decision with even worse ones.

The markets crashing are a reflection of that, but let’s remember where this starts - Trump failing to act responsibly and aggressively to curb the spread by testing aggressively. He refused to do the tests because he thought high numbers would look bad for him. Instead, he’s overseen an outbreak that will overwhelm our public health services.

i do agree.

and while trump had maria, my point is that PR wasnt trump’s people/base.
so while the admin response was outrageous, it didnt move the needle.
and while he’ll be remembered for maria as part of the descriptive paragraph, it’s what you said about the virus and the market so quickly and obviously tanking because of him that’ll be the enduring legacy.
