From below:

If we manage to limit the deaths to 81k by Aug. 4th, it will be fucking nauseating to see the toxic mix of a victory lap and “we told you it wasn’t that bad” from Trump and right wing mouth breathers. Particularly given that Trump has led from waaaaay from behind and we’d be wholly fucked if it weren’t for blue state governors.

Running theory is that Donny is gonna try to play “hero” by having Modly “resign” and then reinstating Crozier.

Not going to happen Capt. Crozier embarrassed him and will stay fired. Modly has also now embarrassed him and will also be fired (asked to resign). His non-apology was only the first step.

*Using this tool vote.org
It is very obvious which states are scared to let their people vote.

Texas as an example…

Texas absentee ballot rules
You may vote by absentee ballot in Texas if:
you are 65 years or older;
you are disabled;
you will be out of the county on Election Day and during the period for early voting by personal appearance; or
you are confined in jail, but otherwise eligible.

And the ID requirement for the absentte ballot is “only” required the first time you vote by mail.

Minnesota’s aren’t explicitly listed, but from reading the MN Secretary of State information, Minnesota has fully open absentee voting, requiring only the signature and address of a witness - who can be a notary or a registered Minnesota voter. Living in a Democratic state is so cool.

Wisconsin is particularly unfair because it is run by Republicans who can’t stay in power if the system is run honestly. So they gerrymander the shit out of everything, pack the courts and try to neuter the D governor as much as possible.

In ruby red states like Nebraska, Republicans are content to let the system be more fair since they will win no mater what.

Looking through the absentee voting rules..
Indiana is.. Well Pence must have had a say in some of these:

You may vote by absentee ballot In Indiana if:
You have a specific, reasonable expectation that you will be absent from the county on Election Day during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open (6:00 a.m. until 6:00 p.m.).
You have a disability.
You are at least 65 years of age.
You will have official election duties outside of your voting precinct.
You are scheduled to work at your regular place of employment during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.
You are prevented from voting due to the unavailability of transportation to the polls.
You will be confined due to illness or injury or you will be caring for an individual confined due to illness or injury during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.

You are prevented from voting because of a religious discipline or religious holiday during the entire 12 hours that the polls are open.

You are a participant in the state’s address confidentiality program.

You are a serious sex offender as defined in Indiana Code 35-42-4-14(a).

You are a member of the military or a public safety officer.

Maybe we can get the Flying Spaghetti Monster to include absentee voting as one of its tenets.

4 carriers either diverted or at port with covid19 cases requiring intervention.

How do you get to that point?

It starts from the top. It starts with a dereliction of duty from the president on down to take the necessary steps to protect the fleet from this disease. It would have meant cancelling all shore leaves. It would have meant quarantining all crew prior to boarding and additional cleaning/sanitizing of spaces.

None of that appears to have been done, even after the first cases appeared.

That’s a gross failure up and down the chain of command.

It’s the kind of failure that incapacitates the nation’s primary conventional force projection.

It’s the kind of failure that renders a $10 billion investment a hunk of junk because the crew is hobbled by a disease that can kill and incapacitate.

Fuck Trump and the enabling GOP.

And where are Democratic leaders demanding answers for why the fleet’s being laid up at port now over cases across the world?

Minnesota’s aren’t explicitly listed, but from reading the MN Secretary of State information, Minnesota has fully open absentee voting, requiring only the signature and address of a witness - who can be a notary or a registered Minnesota voter. Living in a Democratic state is so cool.

What I like best is early voting. I still enjoy voting in person, but for the last couple elections I’ve been going in early to cast my ballot. You can choose from multiple locations, and the hours are convenient for voting on the way home from work. MN really does work hard to make it easy to vote. It helps that we’ve only elected one (one term) Republican Attorney General since the year I was born.

I’ve voted early in the morning because I live 3 blocks away from my polling place and I would stop by before going to work. I think the ease of voting contributes to the lack of long lines.

46.Plaintiff Charles Johnson is one such person. Johnson is undeniably involved with conservative political causes. He absolutely believes that there was a systematic campaign to commit atrocities against Jewish people during the Second World War. He absolutely does not believe that America should be a nation only for white people. Nor does he believe that white people are “superior” to other races of humanbeings. In fact, he has a child who is non-white.

He’s citing his own kid with Hot Asian Wife as his “I have a black friend” alibi.

She did not receive her ballot today so she went to the polls with her elderly uncle as cautiously as possible.
