Hereā€™s my latest entry in the things-that-grow-from-tiny-cracks-in-the-sidewalk sweepstakes.

And I donā€™t know what kind of flowers these are, but I love the color.

Most of the fuchsias are about finished blooming, but it seems this one has just realized itā€™s late, and wants to catch up.

I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever seen a fuchsia with so many flowers. Hereā€™s a close-up.

We called these naked ladies when I was younger:

And the deer have cruised through since I took this picture, so these are only a memory.

A nickname less subject to misinterpretation.

Scaramucci is a traitor to Republican values.

How can you be a traitor to a null set?

Almost anyone would be better than Todd, but canā€™t they find someone whoā€™s not a recovering Republican? (We doesnā€™t trust them, Precious, no we doesnā€™t.)

I started this comment about 4 hours ago, and then life* intervened.

Anyway, what absolutely floors me about the fuckwits in charge (May I say fuckwits here? Of course I can. But I digress.) How do they think the economy can recover if those of us who have money, such as retired people who have incomes relatively unaffected by the lack of employment, canā€™t go out and spend it? For months and months on end. Sure. I can order some stuff, but for example, we need a couple new living room chairs. Is it worth risking death to go to several stores and spend time sitting in these chairs? Not really.

The very people that the idiots wants to lock away to ā€œkeep us safeā€ while everyone else goes out and gets sick, are the ones that could be kick-starting the economy, providing a need for employees at those businesses.

And we do have to be locked away (along with anyone else who doesnā€™t want to get sick.) More and more people are just suffering from pandemic exhaustion. My-daughter-the-pediatrician says theyā€™re starting to get a fair number of cases among the staff at the hospital. Yes, they get patients in with Covid, but thatā€™s not where itā€™s coming from. Doctors are letting down their guard in the break room. Nurses may work at several facilities and bring it in from one of those facilities. Masks are hot. Everyone is sick and tired of all the precautions and they feel safe with fellow employees, because it has been fairly safe-until they relaxed a bit and suddenly it wasnā€™t. Daughter says she now always wears an N-95 mask when she is in a room with anyone else.

Iā€™m so fed up with the administrationā€™s complete incompetence and lack of interest in the welfare of actual people.
(Rant off)

*Itā€™s Mr. Cā€™s birthday, so there was a Zoom party and some FaceTime with our granddaughter and her parents. Then I made him some lovely salmon for dinner, with corn on the cob and rice. Peach pie for dessert. Yum.
