The five dumbest Republican arguments for Trump, Jennifer Rubin, WaPo

Trump celebrates violence, encourages police misconduct, honors Whites indicted for brandishing guns at marchers and tear-gassed peaceful protesters in Lafayette Square. Senior adviser Kellyanne Conway let on that the administration believes that the more violence happens in the streets, the better chance Trump has of being reelected.

Besides hammering on Q being the neo-Protocols and all that stuff, the imagery of Emmanuel Goldstein from 1984 is too strong an allegory to ignore. I’m going to start looking at the rotation.

Racism denied Auburn’s first Black student a master’s degree. Then, at 86, he returned. by DeNeen L Brown, WaPo. This is a WONDERFUL and disgustingly familiar story.

We keep saying that’s all the reason we need to vote for him. That doesn’t mean it’s the only reason we’re voting for him.

OT I just finished looking at the rules of ACT 77. The voter can mail the ballot into your local voting commissioners or take the ballot and turn it in by yourself. One does not have to rely upon the USPS. These are the rules for Pennsylvania if you live in another state check out those rules.

It depends on how close to the election our ballots come. My plan is to literally fill them out same day and get them in the mailbox next day. If that’s in mid-September or early October, that’ll be fine. Otherwise, I’ll drop them in.

Every Democrat I know of is now completely paranoid about voting: I’m overseas, and will be mailing my ballot back the first damn day I can, and others are going to do the same or make sure they know where the dropoffs are. Meanwhile, the goopers say they aren’t going to vote by mail because Dear Leader said it was bad somehow, which is going to cost the GOP a non-trivial number of missed votes. Even the ones who are going to mail them in have been reassured that there’s no problem with the mail, no siree, it’s all in your mind, so might as well just mail it at the last minute like usual.

No wonder the local Republican minions are freaking out.

Yep — It was a joke mocking the media. The only few people who may be undecided now are those who see the violence in the streets and are persuadable that somehow it’s the Democrat’s fault — even though it’s happening on Trump’s watch.

Greetings from smokey San Mateo! How y’all lizards doing?

I had to hide out this whole week from the RNC, because it was causing too much emotion - a toxic maelstrom of anxiety, anger, frustration, rage, fear, etc. I could barely stand to see it filtered through ‘Reasonable People Twitter’.

Apart from that, I’ve been trying to find times of clear air to ride or even walk the dog. Earlier, I took a quick look at purpleair.com, and it looked pretty safe to take Rango for a walk (See the ‘76’ right under “San Mateo”? that’s about where we are)

So, Rango and I headed out. I let him decide where we were going. Took us about 45 minutes there and back. I thought it might be getting smokier while we were walking. Sure enough…

In just one hour, we’d gone from “okay for all but a few” to “not really okay for much of anyone, really”.

And now, OF COURSE, it’s clearing up.

The Moon is a Harsh Mistress.

I wonder who was the first writer to hit on the idea? Was it Heinlein or did someone else think of it first.

It’s actually a really good reason not to piss off people who live outside Earth’s gravity well, which does make me wonder whether the writers who expect Belters and others would really be that poorly treated - Earth would have to spend hugely to lift enough weapons to attack them, but they just have to push big rocks in the right direction.

Standoff Underway at Woodland Hills Apartment Complex After Reported Shooting Near Pro-Trump Rally

A standoff was underway at a Woodland Hills apartment complex following a reported shooting near a pro-Trump rally Sunday, according to police.

Officers were investigating a shots fired call that came in around 11:30 a.m. in the 20600 block of Ventura Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

A large caravan of cars in a pro-Trump rally was lined up on Ventura Boulevard when a woman who was not participating in the rally, driving past the rally, heard what sounded like gunshots and immediately noticed her tire was flat, the LAPD said.

If you don’t know who Ric was he was one of the original members of Gold’s Gym and he designed the Muscle Joe logo.

May you have peace crossing the rainbow bridge, Ric.

Now that the violent offenders are openly flying the Trump campaign flag, it’s going to be a hell of a lot harder for him to deny and deflect to the Democrats. He has to own these motherfuckers because they’re bearing his standard. Obviously, we know that their response will center on the reactions to these assholes invading our cities.

Their response is pretty clear, at least in the short term: Avoid directly addressing the violence and instead refer to it simply as a “tragedy,” while continuing to refer to every protest as a “riot” and insist that such are being supported by Dems alone.

There seems to be a belief in the White House that they can make these protests work for them if they can just convince people that any violence is the fault of Dem-aligned groups. It seems that they’ve ditched the Reagan-era playbook and dug up the Nixon-era book. “Racial strife! That’s the ticket!”

I was originally a RTS player - Command & Conquer, to be specific. I didn’t play online at all. I played Counter-Strike strictly intra-mural with my college buddies. Then we played Warcraft 3, Age of Mythology (both RTS’s), then the Xboxes arrived and I found my scene - Halo. I was a passable shot in the original Halo by the time I graduated.

re: #303 TedStriker

Yup, that’s the reason you almost never saw close shots of his right hand in Trek episodes and movies…his right middle finger had to be amputated because of that friendly fire incident at Normandy.

And after D-Day:

Doohan graduated from Air Observation Pilot Course 40 with eleven other Canadian artillery officers[13] and flew Taylorcraft Auster Mark V aircraft for 666 (AOP) Squadron, RCAF as a Royal Canadian Artillery officer in support of 1st Army Group Royal Artillery. All three Canadian (AOP) RCAF squadrons were manned by artillery officer-pilots and accompanied by non-commissioned RCA and RCAF personnel serving as observers.[14][15]

Although he was never actually a member of the Royal Canadian Air Force, Doohan was once labelled the “craziest pilot in the Canadian Air Force”. In the late spring of 1945, on Salisbury Plain north of RAF Andover, he slalomed a plane between telegraph poles “to prove it could be done”—earning himself a serious reprimand. (Various accounts cite the plane as a Hurricane or a jet trainer; however, it was a Mark IV Auster.)[16][17]

According to the WH (as espoused by Meadows today on Press the Meat), Trump bears absolutely no responsibility for any violence in “Democrat-led cities.” That it’s the fault of the leaders of those cities and their state governors (if Dems) for not begging for him to send in the NG to “restore order.” And that Dems are at fault for not condemning the actions of BLM/Antifa.

I had played the series on PlayStation. I still remember getting the game and the winter missions really standing out because it was Winter at the time and the Band of Brothers episode about Bastogne really stood out to me as I had two grand uncles at the Bulge. Plus it was revolutionary. The bodies didn’t immediately disappear.

I did play some competitive Starcraft 2. My favorite match was with a World of Warcraft partner - we were paladins together - and I played Protoss and he, Terran. We decided to play a double cheese strat and I’m not gonna lie, it failed miserably. But I managed to stabilize the line long enough that he could expand, salvage a few upgrades, and then he covered for me while I transitioned into a mid-game strategy. The other team eventually quit in disgust when it became evident that we had overcome our initial failure and positioned ourselves for a late-game push that was gonna hit hard.

I’m a damn good tank, if there’s a way I can take a bullet for a teammate, I can fulfill that role. The only difficulty I have in gaming is in the pure mechanical-skill games like CoD, where it’s literally about how good you can aim. On the PC, I can be competitive (with practice), but on a console, where my friends have abundant practice and I don’t? Sorry, bois, I’m out.

1: No you’re not supposed to feel sympathy for the guy with an artificial hand…

2: No the film is not anti-US because the villain was trained by US special forces.

3: No the villain did have a point that Wakanada was doing something wrong by simply sitting on all of its power rather than risking taking any actions that might help other people who are suffering.
