Radiohead’s “Kid A” Performed by Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers (And the Original Track for Reference)

I’ve had this in my collection for a while but for some reason never listened until today, and I was completely blown away by the Punch Brothers’ cover of the uncoverable: Radiohead’s “Kid A.” It’s the very last song you’d expect a group of acoustic instrumentalists to attempt, and that’s what makes this band amazing.

Chris Thile and the Punch Brothers perform their arrangement of Radiohead’s “Kid A” during “American Acoustic with Chris Thile” at The Kennedy Center.

Performance date: June 25, 2016

Here’s the original, for reference.

Yeah: well all they need to do out there is start raking those forests properly! And send the water where it’s needed (the Pacific Ocean has enough)!!!

I think it’s a leftover meme from a few years back when California was in a drought: Devin Nunes and a bunch of CA GOPers were whining and bitching about water allocations for their agricultural districts - fair enough complaints, but of course (being GOPers) they cast it in classic anti-environmentalist terms: “necessary” (for them) water being “wasted” by America-hating left-wing hippie eco-freaks because of some “little fish” in the SF Bay.

Needless to say, California’s water-allocation issues were (and are) considerably more complex than the simple-minded RW narrative, but I guess a good hippie-punching stereotype is too useful to let go of.

you completely misunderstand… Dems can only follow and abide by the rules that the GOP establish, until they are on the cusp of succeeding and then the rules are changed to prevent them from doing so… and the Media are the faithful umpires who are ready to call out all violations of the rules, until the rules themselves are changed, and then they kind of have mass amnesia about that.

(and yeah, I KNOW YOU COMPLTETELY UNDERSTAND THIS, but if we’re going to allow bad faith arguments, we might as well take it to its logical conclusion, eh?)

Those “little fish” (the delta smelt) are the food source that brings tuna to the region. Sad for the farmers, but commercial fishing is a bunch of jobs too.

If the farmers get shorted, they have a bad year. If it’s the fish that get shorted, they’re gone forever. One year, the river was so droughted they were loading up tanker trucks with water and fish from upstream, and trucking it to near the coastline. Those tuna need their dinner.

I voted against retaining the three state supreme court justices on the ballot, and all but one of the appellate court judges. The county judges, for the most part, were OK. The state supreme court justices either ruled in favor of the calligraphy shop that wanted to discriminate against lesbians or recused, so that was a NO, DAWG from me.

I’m voting in person next week when the local early polling sites are first open. For judges, I always review the Illinois voteforjudges.org website which posts candidate evaluations of 13 separate legal organizations and vote only for judges that get all (or almost all) positive reviews. In any contested race, I vote Democratic, as long as the judge is qualified.

There are other state level races which in another time, I might have voted Republican but not now — not until the GOP has been completely reformed.

Colorado voting:
Received an email Friday from my county’s ballot tracker to say my ballot went in the mail. Ballots arrived Saturday.

Sat down with hubby at the breakfast table today and re-read the handy guides the state and county send out to explain the ballot issues. Ditto the judges reviews. Checked with the county Dems website to determine the candidates for the local races that didn’t list the party.

Filled out ballots. Inserted into the personalized outer envelopes. (Noted that there’s no secrecy sleeve this year. Interesting.) Signed and dated the envelopes. Saved the “I voted” stickers that come with the instructions.

Dropped off ballots in one of the 32 official drop boxes for my county, which are monitored 24/7 by security cameras.

When my envelope is received at the election office, I will be notified by email.

Still need to bug my kid to fill out his ballot, but two out of three straight-D votes for the household are complete.

I started listening to the podcast, Cocaine and Rhinestones. Absolutely fascinating history of 20th century country music. (Tyler Mahan Coe, David Allen Coe’s son. He knows some shit because he lived it.)

Anyhoo, The first season is killer, but it’s obvious that TMC is a complete dick (Allegedly). And there’s never been another season, because TMC is a complete dick. (Allegedly)

But oh that first season. So damn good. I am on the Kershaw brothers episode. Wow!

I’m going to have to take a deep dive into forties and fifties country because it’s so great.

I was fortunate enough to see Doug Kershaw in concert. Didn’t even really know who he was. I mean it was ‘81. I was digging the Cars and Culture Club and Depeche Mode. But he was incredible in concert.

If you are at all into podcasts, listen to this one. It’s so damn good.

I saw the Police and it was one of my top 3 fave concerts. I still love the Fixx. Would have very much enjoyed seeing them back in the day.

Never saw them alas.

Best shows I did see?
Bowie. U2. X. John Melencamp. Patti Smith. Paul Westerberg/Replacements. Grant Hart/Husker Du.
Edit: Can’t forget Concrete Blond.

Best and worst, simultaneously? Hole about 2 months after Kurt’s suicide… O_O

As someone who had actually had H1N1pdm09 at the end of April of 2009, it really annoys me to all hell when Clownstick and The Fly rant about what a “disaster” Obama’s handling of it was. Dude it was only 11 years ago. Only children won’t remember. I think more people died of COVID in one month than did in 2 years of H1N1. Someone needs to double blast these fuckers in to orbit on that lie, because it’s one of the most egregious ones, and with these fuckers that’s saying a lot.

I remember it first occuring
getting it,
being sick for 2 weeks,
being over it,
my University considering cancelling graduation ceremony,
we threatened to riot and told them to put out hand sanitizer and wipes.

It was fine…
then I never heard about H1N1 again (after *MAY* 2009) until it was listed on the things I was getting a flu vaccine for years later. I don’t even think I mentioned having it here back then because it was such a non-issue to me.

That totally sounds like a “complete fucking disaster” to me.

Best show I ever saw was in a 300 person theater. (The late and lamented Rainbow Music Hall in Denver) Sinead supporting her first album. She was absolutely freaking insanely good. Was truly obsessed with buying and collecting music when I was a kid and I completely stopped buying and collecting when I got “The Lion and the Cobra”. I honestly felt I had found what I was looking for.

So to see her? And she was everything I could have asked for and more? Crazy.

Was into that album for nearly a year. All I played. :D

I actually saw that on Friday and sent some money her way at that time! But thank you!

If you’re made of money and throwing it around (:: there’s Kara Eastman for NE-2. She’s seeking to oust the two-term Rep. Don Bacon.

270 to Win has her district at “leans Democratic.”

With slightly lower odds is Kate Bolz for NE-1. She’s seeking to oust the odious eight-term Rep. Jeff Fortenberry.

Flipping a seat also helps to flip the single electoral vote (and with enough voter turnout, the two senate electoral votes).

This evening:

WASHINGTON — Rep. Jeff Fortenberry, R-Neb., and State Sen. Kate Bolz, a Democrat, sparred Sunday night over health care and the federal response to COVID-19.

Bolz is mounting the most serious challenge in more than a decade to Fortenberry, who has represented Nebraska’s 1st Congressional District since 2005.

KETV hosted Sunday night’s debate, which put the spotlight squarely on the pandemic. The candidates spoke from podiums at least 6 feet apart, a plastic divider between them.

“Make no mistake, health care is on your ballot this year,” Bolz said. “It’s as clear as the mask on your face.”

My sister was precisely in the position that Mayor Pete describes. The fetus died in her womb and was decomposing. If she had not had an abortion at where she was (8 month) she would have died from sepsis.

I will NEVER forgive those Xtians who laid such a guilt trip on her for that and they succeeded in turning her into a rabid antichoicer who picketed clinics and harassed women going there for help, damning them in the name of Jesus…

I had a roommate during my homeless period who’s father was a Baptist minister. Her foetus died in the seventh month; he relentlessly harangued her against getting an abortion, ensuring she nearly died from sepsis and a hospitalisation of nearly a month when her wanted dead baby was born naturally.

She was ruined: psychologically, medically, and financially (you know he didn’t help with the bills either), and shunned by good Christians in her circle because she must have done something wrong for her wanted baby to die.

Religion poisons everything.

Pinkerton Guard Charged In Shooting Wingnuts Tried To Pin On Anarchists. Did We Time Travel? (Wonkette)

I don’t exactly know how it happened, but we all woke up this morning to a story about a Pinkerton detective, America First-ers and a crime wrongly being blamed on anarchists and yet somehow it is not 100 years ago and I am not currently in a speakeasy singing “10 Cents A Dance.”

Did I blink in front of a weeping angel?

Did we become unstuck in time? Is everything just folding on into itself? Is it that I drank a couple Aviation cocktails last night and now we’re all doing that TV trope where we’re all in the past, usually in some film noir kind of situation, but we’re all also still ourselves? Or are conservatives just super bad at coming up with new material? It is hard to tell.

This weekend in Denver, a protester at a far-right rally was shot and killed after pepper spraying a Pinkerton security guard who was hired by local television station 9News. Police have been very, very clear that the shooter, named as 30-year-old Matt Doloff had no connection to antifascist activists — but, naturally, conservatives have been screaming from the rooftops that dude was basically Sacco and/or Vanzetti and/or Leon Czolgosz. Or they would if they knew who any of those people were.

Funny thing is, when I got it months ago and survived, that only reinforced some peoples’ belief it was not that serious. Many of them didn’t believe it was real until they actually knew someone that had it. Okay, I got it. Now they new someone. Saying it was a hoax didn’t sit right anymore.

When I lived, they had to admit it was real, but “not a big deal.”

It is a big fucking deal and it can kill you. When you’re sick, you can spread it and kill other people. When I was sick, for the first day I wondered if it might just kill me too. I lived. Fact is, statistically most people that get it survive it. Most, not all.

Forget the bullshit viral videos of nurses saying they hadn’t personally seen cases and all the other conservative heroes and anti-vaxxers and armchair Constitutionalist experts, I’m telling you it’s real. It’s real and it can kill you. 200k+ agree, it can kill you.

“Talking about having a vaccine in 12 to 18 months is an expression of breathtaking optimism,” says Tom Bollyky.

Here are the four steps of vaccine development, and what happens after approval

We need a vaccine, but keep in mind that a large segment of the US population will refuse it while another segment (elderly or otherwise ill) might not be able to use it safely.

And we need to develop a quick and reliable test so we can screen travelers or visitors to large events.

Only then will we be able to get the disease under control and start to live “normally” again.

It was all knows as “The Great American Desert” until modern mechanical cultivation came along. And it is also a matter of distribution of rainfall. Even Arizona gets 10” or more of rain per year, distributed over the year, that could support lush grassland, but it all comes in the late-summer Monsoon season or in winter.

MSNBC held something like a focus group in Michigan to get opinions on the kidnapping and murder plot against Gov. Gretchen Whitmer.

In keeping with the news media’s seeking of opinions, when a conservative (or this case, conservatives) messes up, you need to interview conservatives. (They had one Democratic voter, and one embarrassed Republican—an independent, the rest are Republicans).

They did the interview in “Detroit” (in quotes because it’s actually on Belle Isle).

In mid-April, senior advisers to a dozen Republican senators gathered on the second floor of the National Republican Senatorial Committee’s offices, where NRSC executive director Kevin McLaughlin detailed the stark online fundraising disparities that led to eight GOP incumbents getting outraised by Democrats in the first three months of 2020.

McLaughlin concluded his presentation with a dire warning: If campaigns didn’t improve their digital fundraising dramatically, they’d have no way to counter a “green tsunami” of Democratic spending in the fall, according to three people familiar with the meeting.

Six months later, the green tsunami is here. And it’s threatening to wipe out the Republican Senate majority.

debt is not a bad thing in and of itself if the marginal utility exceeds the interest costs.

the most common example of that is a home mortgage.

Debt is only bad when Democrats run it up, remember?

Heck, I recall a heady time under Bill Clinton when the US was running a budget surplus, to which Rush Limbaugh commented that it was immoral for the US government to take in more money from us than it needed to operate…

Totally agree John. This is not the same is personal debt and as mentioned even some of that has a utility. (There is a great scene in Its a Wonderful Life where it is explained.)

Billie Holiday helped shape American popular music with her voice and unique style. But, one song in particular has become her greatest legacy — “Strange Fruit.” The song paints an unflinching picture of racial violence, and it was an unexpected hit. But singing it brought serious consequences.

Latest update on Post-Tropical Depression Delta (yes, it’s still around)

nhc.noaa.gov

I was watching the junior NASCAR racing series with my brother on Saturday. It was pouring down rain from Delta, but the race went on, because it was one of the few “road course” races that NASCAR runs. To be blunt, it was a cluster because it was pouring down rain and water was ponding on the roadway. It was funny to see air blower trucks going out and trying to move a half-inch of standing water, with more rain being added despite the effort. The race went like this—start, run a lap or two before there’s a wreck with a few cars, run a couple of laps under caution while the people who wreck go into the pit to try and patch up their cars, wash rinse repeat with the cars becoming progressively more banged up as afternoon turned to evening. At one point, there was a red flag called and drivers had to stop where they were. When they were released to go back to racing, they hadn’t made it even a lap around the roadway before there was a wreck with several cars involved. It was at that point I decided to lay down on my mother’s bed and take a nap. The race finally completed but it was just ugly.

Let the record show that any Democrat who declines to answer the court-packing question should be credited with being in favor of it. Problem solved.

Right, and therefore a Dem Presidency and Senate is a mandate for augmenting the courts. Wobbly Dems can then be convinced they’ve already paid the political price, so why not do it. Thanks.

I’d like to see the polling, but I’m far from convinced this is an election issue to anyone but the MAGAts who are beyond reach. The lesson that people learned from the GOP is that when you’re in power, you get to do what you want.

And, if people need extra encouragement, a Dem government will start hearings into the mess the Trump maladministration left it, trials and lawsuits will ramp up, and I don’t think we’ve seen but a fraction of the criminality. And when this shit starts really coming out, the question Dems should ask is where the FUCK were the Federal Courts for FOUR FUCKING YEARS when this shit was going on. Lawsuits were filed from 2017 onwards to stop this and almost nothing got done; they just let the administration drag everything out. The only time they would act quickly was to stop people from voting. The Federal court system failed, and it’s time to fix it.

Our monsoon season in Maricopa County was for *shit* this year. Completely and utterly *for shit*. This chart is rainfall totals since 1990. In the far right column, labeled “Mon” is the rain we get in July, August and September. For this year, it was 0.46 inches. Last year it was 2.19 inches. This on top of record numbers of 110+ and 115+ days this year.

We haven’t gotten any decaying tropical storms or hurricanes from the Pacific this year either.

I know this is the OC Register, but *man* the voter fraud just gets more and more blatant. California lizards, make sure you’re dropping your ballot into an official ballot box!

er 11, 2020 at 7:19 p.m. | UPDATED: October 11, 2020 at 7:48 p.m.
In a photo posted to social media last week, a young man wearing a mask with Orange County congressional candidate Michelle Steel’s name on it is holding a mail ballot and giving a thumbs up next to a box about the size of a file cabinet labeled “Official ballot drop off box.”

The post, from Jordan Tygh, a regional field director for the California Republican Party, encouraged people to message him for “convenient locations” to drop their own ballots.

The problem is the drop box in the photo is not official - and it could be against the law.

The California Secretary of State has received reports in recent days about possible unauthorized ballot drop boxes in Fresno, Los Angeles and Orange counties, agency spokesman Sam Mahood said Sunday evening. Reports place such boxes at local political party offices, candidate headquarters and churches.

Secretary of State Alex Padilla said his office is coordinating with local elections officials to look into the reports.

Only county elections officials can oversee ballot drop boxes, choosing the number, location, hours of operation and other details. County registrars are charged with making sure every box follows strict state guidelines for security, including making sure they can’t be tampered with and tracing the chain of custody of all ballots.

“Operating unofficial ballot drop boxes - especially those misrepresented as official drop boxes - is not just misleading to voters, it’s a violation of state law,” Padilla said, with a felony conviction carrying a prison sentence of two to four years.

This is the dream my old grad school friend has been waiting for. She went to Notre Dame and was fairly liberal when we became friends. Then as time went on she started attending the local Catholic churches until she found one that she was comfortable with—one that was rigid about doctrine and she dug into her studies of the church until she became that person with anti-abortion stickers all over her car. She visited us last year and gleefully told us that she voted Trump, and this is why. When I say “old” grad school friend, I mean one whom I would help if she called needing help, but I won’t ever go out of my way to contact her again.

ETA: she’s become pretty anti-Notre Dame, too. Thinks it is far too liberal and tolerant of diverse teachings.

Christian Activist: Let’s Show Love By Putting a “Noose around Hillary’s Neck” (Goes to The Friendly Atheist)

Coach (not a coach) Dave Daubenmire wants to go back to Christianity’s roots.

“I do not believe that there has ever been a more corrupt American politician than Hillary Clinton,” Daubenmire said. “Her public life has been one slimy action after another. The demonic left loves her. There is no doubt in my mind that she is under control of very dark forces. Spiritual forces. Demonic forces. Gates of hell forces. Hillary Clinton is a child of the devil.”

“The greatest example of love is discipline,” he added later in the program. “The greatest example of love is to kill those traitors, so others learn never to do it.”

“Why are men today [too] squeamish to go put a noose around Hillary’s neck?” Daubenmire asked. “Let’s round up that whole cabal. Let’s round ‘em up. Let’s publicly execute ‘em so everybody else realizes this ain’t ever going to happen again.”

The first never tends to do as well as those after. I guarantee you Texas wouldn’t be as close as it is now had Beto not run the way he did. But Harrison is in much better shape than Beto was. Part of our problem here is a good portion of our population, Latinos, undervotes. Harrison isn’t having that problem.

Beto also helped a lot of representatives win as well and from what I see he’s doing that now as your state GOP finds itself in an internal civil war.

Also why are her kids being forced to sit through this? Seriously? Is this normal to do?

Kavanaugh’s kids were there, Kagan and Sotomayor don’t have kids, RBG’s kids were there but they were already adults. John Roberts kids were there for at least some of it but they were even younger than Barrett’s. I think most nominees have their families there, the nominees are getting younger though and so are the families.

History teaches me that barriers like this were made to be broken. I knew Virginia was becoming competitive when Kaine who is more liberal than Warner won by a bigger margin for Governor in 2005 and the following year when Webb beat Warner. I can’t say if Harrison will win for sure but he’s running a great campaign that will make SC more competitive for the future and beyond.

Read an article this morning that Florida and some other states expect to have results election eve, so if Biden wins Florida he could have 270 electoral votes called for him on election night, which would greatly diminish Trump’s capacity to fuel chaos afterwards. Trump will never call Biden to concede though, so Biden will have to forego that ritual before giving his victory speech.

When you think about it, the pure nihilism of the GOP is stunning. They could’ve worked to help America through this pandemic, but instead they are burning it to the ground, focusing on getting their handmaid on the Court, knowing it will probably ensure they lose their majority, or just in the irrational fantasy it will energize their base to save them. They are setting up to try to make America a dystopia to ruin Biden’s term if the Democrats let them.

The 2020 Secular Voices Survey by Socioanaltíca Research is in.

They identify “secular Americans” (nones, atheists, agnostics, &c) as now the Democratic Party’s most reliable voting block (despite being ignored by the Democratic Party other than one line in the party platform).

Religious people split 50/50 between the parties.

The first paragraph:

Secular Americans, including those who identify as atheist, agnostic, or simply nonreligious, account for 26% of the U.S. population. The 2020 Secular Voices Survey finds that this contingent makes up a growing proportion of both voters in general and the membership of both major political parties. The influence of this population is much larger in the Democratic Party, where they account for 30% of Joe Biden’s voters. Secular voters prefer the former vice president over President Trump by a margin of 68-30, a relationship that is in line with previous elections.

The 2020 Secular Voices Survey also finds that the primary concern of secular Americans is the coronavirus pandemic, though the economy and health care also rank as very important. These concerns are consistent with findings about secular Americans’ respect for science: this population views Dr. Anthony Fauci’s handling of the pandemic as highly favorable. Secular Americans are also more concerned about climate change than the population as a whole. However, this group’s concerns are not limited to issues of science and reason. Secular Americans disproportionately support legislative efforts to further develop the social safety net, especially the expansion of comprehensive healthcare for all Americans.

Off topic (like a lot of the time)

I discovered that site last year because I googled Bobbie Gentry. Immediately hooked on the whole series. I can understand why he’d give up after one year because he puts so much research into his lengthy stories. It must take a lot of time to put together. I always thought of his dad as a dick so maybe it’s a family trait.

Cities have rules about cars and appliances on blocks. There is no need for an HOA to do that.

As for being aware of HOAs, only if that is disclosed to you before the sale or you find out yourself.

Back when I was in Salem Woods in Virginia Beach, after some petty authoritarian from their HOA came to me to tell me to take down my Gold Star Family window banner, I told them to sue me. I welcomed it. It is protected by federal law.

They also came after me for putting up a clothesline in my backyard. With a privacy fence around the backyard. Which you could not see unless you came in the backyard.

Interesting thing, though in this year’s Senate election: so many of the (D) challengers to sitting Republicans are NOT (and never have been) elected officials.
Greenfield (IA)
Harrison (SC)
Kelly (AZ)
McGrath (KY)
Hegar (TX)
Gross (AK)
… all good candidates, of course, but it just seems to me that one factor aggravating the red state/blue state “problem” - i.e. the Republican lock on too many elected seats (in statehouses, Congress and the Senate) is the lack of a good Democratic “bench”. Yeah, I know, having the best candidate in the world isn’t going to help when most of the voters in your (district/state) assume that any (D) is a Tool Of Satan (often literally), but it just seems (and I would LOVE to be proved wrong here) that the national Democrats have tended to downplay the importance of “downticket” and statehouse races: while Republicans have long made said positions the bedrock of their political influence.

They did until recently. Lesson learned.

They are part of the disclosures made before the sale of a house. Normally, you’d hear about them long before you got to that point. It’s probably different if you are renting.

Hmmm. Didn’t know that, as I’ve only bought one house (this one, and if someone tried to start an HOA here they’d be burned at the stake).

I’m considering donating to outstate MN house candidates today. Trying to decide if I want to give some money to Colin Peterson. He’s a ‘D’ in a district that tends to be close (he won by 4 points last year), but he also voted against impeaching Trump. That’s unforgivable, but he’s still better than ending up with a republican in that district. I may have to kick in a few bucks, but I’ll have to hold my nose. What do you think?

That is a good choice. He’s in trouble, but could win. fivethirtyeight.com gives him a 26% chance.

In Iowa and Ohio, they might. Trump’s trade wars have hurt farmers.

re: #295 NO SMOCKING GUN!

They do in Iowa, which is now a tossup state and has an important Senate race.

I know. But it all comes down (IMHO) to a fundamental problem with American politics. Democrats appeal to the voters’ interests, Republicans appeal to their prejudices. And which side wins out isn’t always predictable.

If Obamacare gets killed and Dems have the House/Senate by that point, can’t they just pass a bill to at least restore the pre-existing condition protections and a few other things popular about ACA?

If the Dems get Congress and the White House (INSHALLAH) then that takes away a favorite SCOTUS weapon. Things like the ACA came to the court fixed in stone, since the window to actually pass anything had come and gone. Then the court conservatives could toss around “Congress meant this” and “Congress could do this”, knowing full goddamn well that Congress meant no such thing, and Congressional Goopers were making sure nothing could get done about it.

Once you can pass a supplementary bill in a couple of weeks that says “Congress didn’t mean any such fucking thing, and we’re changing the law enough to moot the case”, then the calculus changes a lot. It’s still really bad, though, because then conservative assholes on the court then start doing the same thing with the Constitution.

The E.C. isn’t going anywhere. The only hope to make it a nonfactor is the interstate popular vote compact getting enacted by states with 270 electoral votes, but then that can be undone by Republicans repealing it. I would increase the size of the House, which would give big states more votes in both Congress and the electoral college.

I think that the only ones they allowed were for sale signs, but that may have changed. In any case, the HOA has made life simpler: the monthly fee covers landscaping, snow plowing, and water. As a widow living here, I am grateful not to have to worry about arranging for the landscaping and snow plowing services.

As far as I’m concerned today is the day we really ought to salute and remember a great American who revolutionized our dining habits!

And lest Ohioans ever forget: Ettore Boiardi got his start in Cleveland!
(well, opened his first restaurant there, his first cooking gig in this country was at the Plaza Hotel in NY! (WAY before Trump got involved, thankfully!!!))

If Trump gets the same amount of the popular vote he did last time, he will lose. Biden’s not just running up the score in the bright blue states.

The biggest ally Trump had was the apathy and indifference of voters. But people are riled up and ready to get out - they have seen the price of apathy and don’t want that to happen again.

In other positive news, I got my 18-year-old daughter to listen to the Pogues…

I’m my own snowplow (sung to the tune of “I’m My Own Grandpa”).

I do pay my neighbour to mow my lawn. I’m not sure if a landscaper would do anything about the massive amount of toilet paper snagged in the top of my elm tree this morning, about forty feet up. (I was going to take a picture of it in it’s flaming yellow autumn colour, but it looks more like a Charmin advert now.)

The rest is part of the village government (trash, water, &c).

It is clear that supreme court justices should have term limits. That would reduce the nonsense of appointment of judges not based on experience but who will live a long time.

We’re probably edging up on a time when a sufficiently wealthy person could have a lifespan unconstrained by aging, so we’re going to have to do something at some point.

Good news all around. Did you have her listen to Rum, Sodomy, and the Lash? That’s by far my favorite album by them. Cait’s version of I’m a Man You Don’t Meet Everyday is one of my favorites. So be easy and free when you’re drinking with me, I’m a man you don’t meet every day.

Won’t it require a Constitutional amendment?

Yes. Count to thirteen red states, and it fails.

We will have Healthcare which is FAR BETTER than ObamaCare, at a FAR LOWER COST - BIG PREMIUM REDUCTION. PEOPLE WITH PRE EXISTING CONDITIONS WILL BE PROTECTED AT AN EVEN HIGHER LEVEL THAN NOW. HIGHLY UNPOPULAR AND UNFAIR INDIVIDUAL MANDATE ALREADY TERMINATED. YOU’RE WELCOME!

There are those people who are used to shouting until they get their way.

But even if this healthcare plan is comprised of ALL CAPS, it is not going to do all he promised.

And again, what has prevented them from presenting this? If it were as good or better than ACA surely he would even get enough Democratic reps and senators on board to pass it…

Ohioans put pasta in chili.

“Cincinnati chili” is a thing unto itself, more of a Greek-inspired meat sauce that they put on everything, from hot dogs to pasta.
