I read that Piper piece (never heard of him before today) and decided… what an asshole. Reading between the lines he’s saying Biden ain’t a real Christian… in fact no Democrats are or ever can be. Fucking hate that shit. Joe is a hundred times the Christian Piper is who goes online to cast his stones at everyone who doesn’t stand up to his rigidly perverted morality.

538 polling shows a ping-pong effect for AZ CD-6 between Tiperneni and Schweikert, so it’s hard to say how that will play out. O’Halloran in AZ CD-1 has a modest lead in his, most of the other seats, be they Dem or Rep look to be safe… if O’Halloran and Tiperneni win thru, then that will make it a solid Dem contingent.

This state is simply filthy with ads and the McSally ones are in a league of their own, some solid, eyes meeting the camera and earnest lying… scary stuff how a former officer can do that with such conviction, she’s actually on camera stating that the votes she cast to end the ACA were actually votes for protecting pre-existing conditions….

Fucking hate that shit. Joe is a hundred times the Christian Piper is who goes online to cast his stones at everyone who doesn’t stand up to his rigidly perverted morality.

Piper is on my personal shit list. Some people around here may remember that I went to Louisville, KY in April 2018 to picket him and his buddies at “Together For The Gospel 2018”. My thoughts about Piper have not improved in the 2.5 years since then. If anything, I’ve become even more furious at the man and his followers because of the way they see women and children. Just so you know where I’m coming from: I think Evangelical churches (of which Piper’s Neo-Calvinist followers are only a small slice) are generally harmful to women and children. Women are second class, consent is not a thing and neither is bodily autonomy. There’s too much hiding of sexual abuse and I will flatly tell people that they should NOT take their families to Evangelical churches and be careful about the rest.

I nearly had a panic attack while standing in front of the YUM! Center and being surrounded by the thousands of young (20s-30s) bearded white men dressed in plaid shirts and blue jeans, swarming back into the building after a meal break. It was a cult convention and Piper was one of the highlighted speakers.

I hope Biden wins because American Evangelicalism is so poisonous in all its variations, whether fundamentalist Baptist or Neo-Calvinist or name it and claim it health and wealth prosperity movement or Seven Mountains Dominionism—it all needs to be (figuratively) burnt to the ground.

Apparently the campaigns negotiated them away after negative tests? That style of divider made more sense for the (sitting-down) veep debate, but for standing podiums I thought they were kinda silly.

No reliable reports of structure loss though there’s some word that whole neighborhoods in between Granby and Grand Lake were destroyed. The Grand Lake Lodge and downtown Grand Lake were spared.

This was long feared. The forests in Grand County have been dead for years from beetle kill. The whole place was a tinder box.

re: #70 NO SMOCKING GUN!

Ohio forecast for Biden and Ohio House Democratic candidates match up; each about a point behind.

I’m mildly dubious about trying to match up polls that way, though.

Especially in heavily gerrymandered states, there are enough House districts with very little (or even no) polling that the uncertainty in those districts probably more than outweighs any accuracy in the districts that get more polling attention.

The incumbent D in my district, NY-25, has only a token R challenger in a district that’s designed to be D+10 or thereabouts. Not only do I not know of any recent polling that anyone’s bothered to do of that race (because why spend the money?), but even if it did exist, it would likely show at least a few points of crossover voting (Trump at the top, but the D congressman) that would skew the results even more.

I’d trust this method more in a state like Nebraska with only a handful of districts, all of which are presumably getting decently polled this year. (Anymouse for NE-3!)

all this shit boils down to is that someone, somewhere stole/hacked (aka a crime) something that they’ve decided means that somebody is doing something illegal, based on a conversation involving someone, not in government, declining to do business with someone else because of reasons…

that’s it… as if this is somehow indicative that we can’t trust this guy’s father and seen as influence peddling and we have Mueller findings in transcript where one of the Trump boys is meeting with Russian nationals regarding damaging information on a political opponent and this makes Biden somehow corrupt when he’s not having a mtg, his son is and he’s refusing to meet with someone because of a business deal with China, because apparently that’s worse than actually having an undisclosed financial account there where you don’t disclose how much in taxes you paid…

and they simply hope that if they make enough noise, muddy the waters, raise their voices loud enough that somehow… this will turn the nation off of Biden, who had the fucking audacity to show his tax returns… and certain paid pets in the 4th estate will happily piddle on the carpet on command over this shit.

Something I’ve discovered today.

In 2016 Dr. Adam Cyra, who works at Auschwitz Museum, made a post in his blog in which he linked to some materials (including a blog post by an extreme Holocaust denier who denied even the existence of the crematoria) allegedly putting Elie Wiesel’s stay in Auschwitz and Buchenwald into doubt.

Recently some Polish nationalists on Twitter discovered this (spurred on by an article on the Polish webportal Tysol) and pestered AM on Twitter. In response, AM linked to my article clarifyng this matter and debunking the deniers. The link was also added to Dr. Cyra’s blog.
