In Which the President* of the US Releases 46 Minutes of Whining, Ranting, and Conspiracy Theories on Video

“There was a MASSIVE DUMP… of votes.”

It’s just more of the same; you don’t really need to watch it if you’ve ever seen Trump do his phony “voter fraud” schtick. It’s too familiar by now. But if you’re a connoisseur of batshit craziness, it may be of interest because it is WAY OUT THERE, even more than usual for this ridiculous con man.

Here are a few choice scenes from this 46-minute horror show.

Perot at least had the decency to know what the fuck he was talking about when he pulled out charts.

Also, what are those charts?

I’d be fine with it being 80 in December, if it wasn’t 45 first thing in the morning.

As I understand it, it’s their crackpot’s analysis of the “algorithm” which the voting machines supposedly used to shuffle the stolen votes and hide them. It’s supposed to illustrate the points at which the voting machines “dumped” large numbers of stolen votes.

Biden got 80 million votes — that should be a huge news story
Trump voters aren’t news, by Eric Boehlert, PressRun

Of course, he gives special attention to the NYT.

Trump’s incessant post-election whining about the election being “stolen” has distracted from the stunning vote totals Joe Biden posted, becoming the first candidate in U.S. history to land 80 million votes. Twenty million more Americans cast ballots in 2020 compared to 2016. In total, 67 percent of eligible voters submitted ballots this year, the highest American tally in a century. Additionally, Biden obliterated all campaign fundraising records, taking in a staggering $940 million from supporters.

The fact that the Democratic nominee received 80 million votes amidst a pandemic, with some states seeing an astronomical voter turnout rate this year hovering at 80 percent, should have triggered constant coverage about Biden’s successful campaign and his unprecedented ability to attract voters. You’d think cable news panels and opinion pages would be flooded with debates and insights into how Biden pulled off such a stunning performance — how he received 34 million (!) more votes than Bill Clinton did in 1996, and 16 million more than Obama received in 2012. Shouldn’t that make Biden a political phenomenon?

Instead of dissecting Biden’s sprawling Black, Brown and white coalition of voters, who helped flip five states on Election Day, the press continues to be amazed by how many votes the losing candidate received. It’s a singular focus we’ve never seen before in American politics.

From a certain point of view, media focus on Trump’s voters makes sense. E.g., how could 70+ million people actually vote for this piece of shit?

But of course that’s not what is being done. The media focus on Trump voters is not intended to criticize their pathologies. It is intended to center their pathologies as the American norm.

The only thing that really fascinates me about Trump’s performance in his re-election campaign was that he managed to get the same share of the popular vote that he got last time.

That suggests, to me at least, that 46% might now be the floor for a major party nominee in a two person race - I used to think it was closer to 40% (Goldwater, Mondale), but maybe it’s higher now.

Trump’s Continuing COVID Murder Spree, The Rude Pundit

As much as I blame Trump for all his neglect prior to the election, what he’s doing now is even more unforgivable because we fucking know what’s going to happen and still he parades his grievances about losing the election instead of lifting one of his Vienna sausage fingers to help. It’s monstrous. And we should never forget and never forgive him for putting us through this as a country, for warping us even more than we had already been warped, for weaponizing the virus and using it as a murder weapon as sure as if he were putting Americans up against a wall and gunning them down.

I’m not telling you anything you don’t know. But as all this other shit comes out, about pardons, about death threats to Republicans who say there is no voter fraud, about whatever the fuck Attorney General Barr is up to, let’s keep in mind that that motherfucking psychopath in the White House doesn’t give a damn if we live and that he’s dragged all of us down into the bottomless pit of his self-pity and unabated rage.

Start with murder charges. Go from there.

He’s outraged at threats against those involved in running the Georgia election (good,) but he supports the GOP senate candidates despite the fact they haven’t said anything about the threats (bad.) So despite his righteous indignation-and I do appreciate the fact he is particularly outraged about the unfortunate Dominion employee who was just doing his job-he’s still part of the problem.

i(m)p(each)sos  Dec 2, 2020 • 4:25:52pm

It’s becoming pretty obvious that some group of “advisors” must have spent some time with him ahead of election night drilling into his thick skull a scheme where the election results would be razor-thin again in one or two key states, allowing him to push the absentee ballot claim and squeeze out a “victory.”

Except then he lost by too much, in too many states. But the curdled jelly where his brain should be can’t process any change. So he’s basically giving away the game they thought they were going to be playing.

Assclown.

Republicans have always had a bee in their bonnets about absentee ballots, claiming that Democrats drive around, steal them, fill them in, forge signatures, and drop them off en masse. They claim this is how the infamously corrupt cities of the 1970’s - New York, Chicago - became Democratic strongholds. From that perspective, it makes little difference if the ballot is a marked sheet of paper or a pile of electrons in a wire somewhere.

It’s been raining up here in the SE Alaska Rainforest. 24 hour total for 12/1 in Juneau was 4.93 inches. We’re expecting 1-2 inches more today. Needless to say, there’s been severe flooding throughout the city along with several large mudslides including one that took out a house. Fortunately no-one was injured. Many roads are blocked by mud or standing water.

We’ve also had winds gusting up 60 mph along with the rain.

I’ve seen some reports from Haines, AK (60 miles north of Juneau, up the Lynn Canal) where they have had some huge landslides and road damage. Even their airport is flooded (the runway is abut 20 feet ASL). It’s not going to be easy to get them the assistance they will need. Reports are that they got over 10 inches of rainfall.

I’m just glad it was rain and not snow. Digging out 6-8 feet of snow would have been impossible for this old fart.

The significant loss of House seats by the Dems must not be ignored.

We have to reconcile what is happening around the country versus the Trump-thing’s own self-destruction. The latter is not hard to understand.

The success of the GOP at taking House seats tells me that the Democratic party has a brand issue that is probably not able to be undone.

It doesn’t matter that Trump is a malicious idiot. That’s not the issue at hand here.

Rather, that people in rural areas now see the Democratic party as the enemy. And even a tool of Satan.

Such beliefs don’t go away. People keep them until they die.

“We can truly register at that address?” one woman asks.

“Sure,” Price answers, adding they have to plan to show a move, suggesting they have mail sent there.

“And can it be anywhere in the State of Georgia you can register?” another woman asks. “So if you’ve got cousins, dogs, cats that live somewhere else, it doesn’t need to be one particular county?”

“Yep,” Price answers. “This is going to be a statewide election on Jan. 5th. I’m gonna be voting for Kelly Loeffler? (his voice indicates a question, as he mispronounces the senator’s last name). “And David Perdue.”

One woman also asks about the deadline to register in Georgia. Price says he’s unsure, would have to check, but offers advice on how to get it done online.

“It can be done online or you can request your ballot at your new address in Georgia by mail,” Price said. You just go to the Secretary of State’s website for the State of Georgia and register to vote there.”

“If they need a driver’s license I’m going to get a driver’s license,” he said. “If they need mail, I’m going to have mail there.”

** OFF TOPIC CURMUDGEONLY OUTBURST

I have absolutely no beef with musicians licensing their works to whomever they please, for whatever they please. We all know it is difficult for musicians to make money, and they are, of course, entitled to do as they please with their work.
HOWEVER
Have any of you seen these god damned Rakutan ads that use “Rocket Man,” with the lyrics changed to to tell us all about how great it is that you can buy jeans online, etc.? I am infuriated and disgusted, and maybe it makes me sound a little crazy, but that isn’t hyperbole.
Yes, I see the similarity between the name “Rakutan” and the words “rocket man,” and I can imagine that for any ad agency, the temptation to use “Rocket Man” would be overwhelming. That doesn’t make it right or acceptable.
Some art is too beautiful to allow it to be sullied, so I propose capital punishment for those who do. OK, that bit is hyperbole. And I understand the myriad reasons that could never work, starting with the subjectivity of beauty. But this grossed me out more than any other commercial use of popular music that I can recall. I think if they were just using the music, and not having somebody sing shitwords using that gorgeous vocal melody, I would probably be less offended. I might be totally off base in my interperetation, but to me the song is a beautiful expression of some raw and aching emotion, and I am sure that accounts for a lot of my disgust at its besulliment.
(I assert that besulliment is now a proper word. I am licensed to do that. You can look that up.)
I’m gonna go take a shower and see if that helps.

I’m glad you like it! But it is already part of the language. My undergrad degree is English and Economics (they had a lot of overlapping electives, so I was able to do both.) The English part of my degree confers the right to coin words, which are immediately part of the language with no authority beyond mine required.

I like enstupidate - that is a concept that requires its own word. I think enstupify might work, but while I like how it sounds, I think it leans more toward the condition of the very drunk and the recently concussed.

Thoughts from a constitutional law expert on FR:

Calm down.

You need to read up on the 12th amendment to the constitution of the USA.

In a non conceded election, each state votes for the POTUS. The majority of State’s have a GOP legislature.

So there’s that. Oh, and when the 12/19 deadline hits for EO 13848 we’ll all get to see how enemies of the state were connected to foreign agents and governments conspired against us. Trump’s EO … be familiar with it, you’ll hear much about it in a couple weeks.

3,601 new cases in Kentucky today, and a single day record 37 dead, breaking the record set yesterday, including people in their forties, fifties and sixties.

Here in the Nebraska Panhandle, we had a bunch of upward revisions in cases, but no additional deaths (they stand at sixty-seven).

November 6: 265 (about triple)
November 23: 125 (about double)
November 25: 115 (about double)
Total cases: 6,212 (+26 over yesterday)
Weekly positivity: 43.8% (rising slightly)

Local news: The house across the street from me which I was going to buy for my mother (but she doesn’t want to leave Chicago) was purchased by a friend of ours in town. We did not know that.

My wife went into the general store today and ran into her there. She said she was concerned for us because she hasn’t seen us in quite a while. My wife pointed out we’re hiding out from the plague, but we’re right here and fine.

re: #32 Love-Child of Cassandra and Sisyphus

The significant loss of House seats by the Dems must not be ignored.

We have to reconcile what is happening around the country versus the Trump-thing’s own self-destruction. The latter is not hard to understand.

The success of the GOP at taking House seats tells me that the Democratic party has a brand issue that is probably not able to be undone.

It doesn’t matter that Trump is a malicious idiot. That’s not the issue at hand here.

Rather, that people in rural areas now see the Democratic party as the enemy. And even a tool of Satan.

Such beliefs don’t go away. People keep them until they die.

Of the 12 incumbent Dems that lost, 11 were elected in 2018. I don’t know about the rest of them, but the two in Orange County were extremely close (like a couple thousand votes in contests with 300,000-400,000 votes cast). Part of it might just be the fact that the Dems swept almost all the toss up/swing districts two years ago. Dems did win three open seats formerly held by Republicans (Republicans only flipped one open seat; two if you count Amash’s old seat, which you shouldn’t).

There’s the added factor that in two years, the maps are going to be redrawn due to the census. The big question is did Dems win enough state legislatures and/or governors offices to have a seat at the table in enough states to avoid fuckery

Dig deep enough and you’ll find Carone thinks she’s on a mission from Je$u$.

To be honest, I first thought that Melissa Carone was Alyssa Carone, another wacky Detroit-area woman who had been busy proselytizing harassing Muslims and others in Hamtramck back in March.

To be honest, I’ve known who Alyssa Carone was for several years, because she was originally a follower of sovereign citizen/young earth creationist Kent Hovind. That said, I do have to wonder if Melissa and Alyssa are related.

The City of Scottsbluff, Nebr. rejected the ordinance to create a board of health, which is required to put forth a mask ordinance.

My village of 124 has a board of health. The minimum requirement for such a board is a physician or an RN, the mayor, the police chief (or in my town’s case, the marshal), and at least one interested citizen.

Council member Scott Shaver objected to the motion, saying there was clearly not majority support on the board. Shaver said anecdotally more people are staying home and wearing masks, attributing that to “treating people like adults.”

“This is just one more step to getting to treat them like kindergartners,” he said. “I am totally against this.”

Mayor Raymond Gonzales said the call by medical professionals shouldn’t be ignored.

“I think we should take some action here and not sit here and argue about personal freedoms, and you know ‘Somebody’s going to force me to wear a mask,’” he said. “Regional West came, they’re asking for our assistance. If we don’t want to give it to them, we need to tell them we’re not going to do anything.”

to be fair, while I would have preferred that they not compromise, there’s likely a good many people out there (be they mostly small business owners or otherwise) who frankly don’t give a shit about who is authorizing the help and simply need it to stay afloat financially by putting food on the table and a roof over their heads.

The GOP could just as easily say, we put something on the table and the Dems walked away and it would be true. Doesn’t matter how shitty their deal was/is, something for some people is better than nothing for anybody. It’s easy for me to state that I have a job and life is for me and mine, somewhat secure, but that is NOT the reality for a whole shitpotfull of folks and I can understand the motivation to do something for someone…. NOW, while it can be done versus waiting for another two months and trying to address it via an executive order or a better Senate configuration.
