So the RW Chicago Tribune published an editorial this morning telling Trump to either concede or resign. That paper is pitiful — it urged Clinton’s resignation when the Starr report was released — but for all Trump’s depredations, it wasn’t until this morning that they finally suggest that he resign — but that’s only if he won’t concede. The Tribune never thought Clinton was a danger to this nation; they should know better that there is untold damage Trump can still unleash if he remains in power for another 13 days. And his “concession” speech never used the term “concede” or say that Biden will be President or admit the election was fair and legitimate.
Yes, a few of Trump’s ardent supporters have turned on him because of his hostage video, but even some of those are pledging to continue the fight and who knows what violence they may inflict on those they consider enemies. And who knows what Trump will say tomorrow. He may very well revert to his standard bullying and bluster; he was forced to make this video — he may very well repudiate it in full by next morning or continue lying that he won and the election was stolen.
