Luca Stricagnoli Is Amazing: Metallica on Acoustic Guitar

“Fade To Black” is, in the opinion of many, a very significant song in the development of Metallica. Some identify it as their first slow song and it explores serious themes such as hopelessness and depression. I could have picked many other great songs by Metallica to arrange, but this one was my choice. I am using two guitars: a Standard 6 String and my 7 String Soprano Guitar, placed on the usual keyboard stand. Meg and I wanted to represent the darkness of “Fade To Black” in this video. To do so, not only did we shoot the clip in a black room but I also consumed two rolls of black tape to make my guitars extremely dark (haha). I believe the taping process took me about 4 hours!
As always, thank you so much for following my content!

I am a huge Metallica fan and have seen them a bunch of times. This is one of my favorite songs of theirs, and it is melodic, deep, and orchestral in scope.

This is an awesome version. Thanks for sharing Charles, and thanks for lifting spirits during this most difficult time.

My first date with The Husband was to see a Metallica show in Atlanta, around 1992 ish. One of the best shows I’ve ever seen. He said he decided to marry me that night, if I would have him, lol. He didn’t ask me for another year.

“Biden should investigate 2020 election!”

Remember how Trump convened a commission to prove his claims in 2016 that he had won the popular vote and Hillary had just stolen all those other 3 million votes?

Remember what that commission found?

Same thing they would find this year.

Which, TBH, is why I think that it is a good idea for President Biden to go ahead and establish some “blue-ribbon commission” to look into “voter integrity” - what they are likely to find, as you have noted, is a notable lack of the sort of “massive fraud” President Asshole and his creatures have been bleating about since November. And getting an official reassurance as to the security of states’ voting systems and practices can only be a plus: especially if will officially call bullshit on Republicans’ blatherings about “stolen” elections….

If you encounter someone claiming both parties are the same, this week ends all doubt about that.

One party, led by a despotic and desperate treasonweasel, backed an armed insurrection and coup attempt that saw insurrectionists storm the US Capitol, cause widespread damage, murdered a Capitol Police officer, injured 60 others, and their first instinct was to ignore the threat and push ahead with the treasonweasel’s effort to subvert the election and claim votes were illegitimately cast.

The insurrectionists carried flags of the Confederacy, Gadsen flag, Trump flags, and blue lives matter flags (which is a substitute for the Confederate flag). They tore down the US flag and erected a Trump flag in its place.

The other party, following the laws of the US and the Constitution sought to confirm the next president of the US via the lawful and peaceful transfer of power in a symbolic act of confirming the Electoral College presided by the VP.

The insurrectionists shouted that they were coming to murder VP Pence because he was going to confirm President Elect Biden. They were coming to murder leading Democrats and trying to thwart the votes confirming the peaceful transfer.

Trump called these people patriots. Trump’s treasonweasel caucus backed him. They refused to call for his resignation. These people sought to overthrow the government and install Trump as president.

Democrats calling for Trump’s resignation are backed by law, facts, and history.

Both parties are the same? Fuck that - and prosecute every last coconspirator and accomplice in the failed coup. We know Trump and his goons are still trying to do something to thwart the election. We know that law enforcement is compromised based on their response to the insurrection and the stand down enabling insurrectionists to storm Capitol Hill so easily. We know that Secret Service was so concerned about Biden’s security that they shifted assignments around because of concerns about some of those in his initial detail.

Trump has so thoroughly corrupted government that he came dangerously close to succeeding. Holding every last GOPer accountable for their actions is the bare minimum here.

Republicans have been shouting “voter fraud” ever since John F. Kennedy’s election. Any time they don’t win an election, even by large margins, they drag that chestnut out.

Trump’s own commission found no such thing. Why would they believe a commission stood up by Biden?

I’d go for a blue ribbon commission on how social media companies radicalise conservatives, and proposals to address that.

re: #12 raistuumum

The question becomes does that change the calculus for the WH. DC/PR add 6 to the EC. That means you need 273 to win. Only election where this comes even close to flipping results is 2000. Every other election was not close enough to flip results (hence my no change below). Assume DC/PR were states for 2000 election

2000: IRL - Bush 271, Gore 266 (267 were pledged, but 1 became a faithless elector)
2000: Modified Gore 272, Bush 271. That assumes same faithless elector; if that elector backed Gore, it would have flipped entirely to Gore and every race thereafter is history rewritten.

If DC/PR became states for 2004 election and after, no changes to any results since 2000:

2004 No change
2008 No change
2012 No change
2016 No change.
2020 No change.

It seems it’d be unlikely that the number of representatives would increase beyond 435, so the total would be 540 and the threshold to win would be 271.

Sounds like social media outlets are beginning to wake to the realization that their lackadaisical moderation and policing of TOS violations has real world consequences and they’ve therefore gone into ban hammer mode.

This is welcome, but why the fuck did it take an armed insurrection and murder of a police officer to make this change.

Eyeballs. Revenue. That’s what. Not one cared enough about enforcing the TOS to make sure that their platform wasn’t being coopted by insurrectionists openly plotting to overthrow a government.

zip ties and hostages

how does this headless mob quickly identify the ‘good’ reps and senators from the bad?

were the rioters carrying pictures (or decks of cards as someone last thread mused)?

did folks like hawley, brooks, etc have a signal or code word
were they gonna whip out an identifying arm band or something?

maybe it wasnt all that organized
maybe they were relying on “guys do you know who i am?”

Don’t forget that DC already has EC votes. For PR it would have 6 electoral votes, and since it’s unlikely the number of representatives would increase beyond 435, the total would be 540 and the threshold to win would be 271.

PR had a bigger population than Iowa. That means it would likely get 6 members of the House plus 2 in the Senate - (8) - total. DC would get 1 House and 2 in the Senate - (3) total. That means 11.

DC’s representative is lumped together with American Samoa, Guam, and Northern Marianas. Split them out and deliver them their own representative while maintaining the 5 for American Samoa, Guam and Marianas.

If Congress could pass a bill letting the maximum number of reps increase to say, 440, that would accommodate the number of reps for DC and PR well.

Federal lever congresscritters get paid well with good benefits. People assume it’s the same at state level, nope. No one can live on the salaries most of those offices pay.

It’s also a fact that a lot of people under 40 live with family because they aren’t paid a living wage or even close. This is what happens when wages stagnate but the cost of everything else keeps rising.

It pisses me off to hear folks my age bitching about lazy millennials (which seems to be the blanket term for anyone under 30 these days though it’s not correct) living off their parents. I don’t know a single lazy person in their teens to 30s, they just can’t afford shit. Pay them. Enough to live on.

mine likes to wait until I’m just falling asleep, only to jump on the bed. she’s gotten better about not doing a four-pointer on vital organs, but it’s still a bit startling, and also funny, to get woken up by her. I’m certain it’s because she wants to wait until I’ve turned the light out, so that she can do her evening napping in peace. if she hasn’t come up by the time I’ve gotten up to do middle-aged middle of the night man stuff, I’ll see where she is, if I can in the dark, and then I’ll kneel down and say, “wanna come up for awhile?” at which point she’ll give a luxuriant stretch and allow me to slide my hands under her like she’s a baguette about to get the second proof in the baker. I then have to deposit her at the bottom of the bed, at which point she will wait until I’ve gotten back in and gotten comfortable. Only then will she come up to collapse in my arms like a rescued damsel.

NY is a part time legislature, and their pay structure is higher than those other states, but every legislator ends up supplementing their income with side gigs, which makes corruption all the more likely. One of the ideas for reform in NY would be to make it a full time job, increase pay and eliminate all side hustles.

One must now assume ANY Republican victory for President will be the last election we ever have as the United States of America as we know it.

The continued excuses and support for a violent insurrection proved without a shadow of a doubt they intend to hold onto power by any means necessary and will be thrilled at the prospect of murdering everyone who is not them with glee. They fantasize about it. They dream about it. They post about it. Their intentions are all over social media, Fox News, OANN, VK and all other right wing open sewers.

The only way (for the short term anyway) to hold onto the Flawed Democracy status we will be entering on Jan 20 is to keep at least one wing of Congress as well as the Presidency. If we cannot, we will once again fall into the Hybrid Regime state we have been in for 4 years now.

City councils are even worse, unless they are a very large city.

My own village board paid nothing, until I introduced an ordinance to pay $100 a month (if you showed up), $25 per special session, and an additional $25 for the village chairperson, about average for a village in Nebraska.

The point of introducing it was not to get rich (and the XXVII Amendment prohibits a pay rise in a session it is voted on, so I didn’t benefit anyway when I got voted out), but to encourage participation in village elections. Lots of people could see that being a village trustee actually takes up a lot of time, but didn’t pay anything at all, so why do it?

I swear, that whole party acts like an abusive partner. Now they’re sorry and they didn’t really mean it, and if we just act right they promise they’ll never do it again. But if we don’t, well, we made them do it. Fuck that. From personal experience, the only way to stop this shit is to fight back and not stop til they do. If you don’t, the cycle starts over, only amped up another notch. As we see. And in between it’s all gaslighting and bullshit. The only way to stop it is to use more force than they do, it’s all they understand. And nooo, I am not advocating violence, but I am advocating knocking this back and arresting the hell out of anyone in that building who had no business being there in the first place. Nice does not work. It never has, never will.

Hubby has been saying that exact thing for a while now. They’re now in the You Made Me Do It phase.

This is a major problem, and it won’t just go away on a technicality. I’m telling you, as someone that’s been there, you’ve already lost. It doesn’t matter if you get Trump out. He and the Republican Party are destroying trust in elections in general. This is catastrophic. You have no idea.

The Ghost of a Flea  Jan 9, 2021 • 12:56:17pm

So here’s my problem.

The thing Joe Biden is saying is literally Not True.

Aspirationally, it’s a good thought, but It Is Not True. It is not true during the Trump Administration, it was not true during previous administrations.

If it was true, sizable chunks of US leadership would be war criminals, Reagan would have died in jail, and some people that lied us into Iraq would have been executed for treason. And, many, many politicians of both parties would be convicted of corruption and influence peddling.

I realize this is an intense statement—my biggest fear is that I keep hearing language about how we’re going to go back to normal…except what’s being described as “normal” isn’t what actually happens, day in day out, in our government, but is a kind of wistful romantic Ideal America that doesn’t exist. Everyone is doing the same soft-edged, trope-filled language that makes Cletus Safaris so fucking reprehensible and irresponsible.

Joe has witnessed a lot of authoritarian assholes in his time. I trust him to play hardball when necessary and work towards consensus when necessary too. My hope is we’re going to see a GOP in schism and I think we can take advantage of that and crush the forces that made Trump and Trumpism possible. At party retreat far from D.C. turmoil, Republicans still sing praises of Trump, WaPo

GOP members — flying from all over the country for the event — repeatedly praised Trump publicly and privately. Most were not interested in condemning his behavior on Wednesday, where he incited a mob of supporters to descend on the Capitol in anarchy, according to people present at the meeting, who spoke on the condition of anonymity to describe internal deliberations. Some members argued falsely that it was really “antifa” or other leftist groups responsible for the violence in the U.S. Capitol, people present said, and did not believe he had done anything wrong.
Some members wanted a statement from the party that condemned violence on Wednesday to also embrace the president’s bogus claims of voter fraud, attendees said, and urged party officials to fight harder to help the president. The prayer to kick off the meeting included a plea for an election such as 2020 to never happen again.
Attendees passed resolutions criticizing the news media and calling for attention to voter fraud, two of the president’s favored topics. One North Carolina official called for the reelection of the GOP’s officials partly so the news media could not say the party was in discord. A statement from a committeeman for the officer killed in the Capitol did not mention the president’s role in inciting the violence but said the Republican Party was the party of law and order.

This is an existentialist era of survival for the America we have known since Reconstruction. There is 35- 47 % of the country that wants the rest of us subjugated, deported, or eliminated. They do not want peace. They do not want reconciliation. They never have. They imagine doing horrible things to other, distant people they label as “Socialists/Liberals” generally not in their own family. Liberals in their own families will somehow be spared. That doesn’t explain how that will protect them from being killed by other fascists. The level of violence imagined and dreamed of by the MAGA gangs are almost always directed at some distant enemy. But it will not be. The violence will be visited by all families all across the nation.

MAGA supporting women and minorities would soon find out the real agenda behind the fake phony facade of “freedom” if we fail to restore the United States. They too will be made to serve a new all-white male power pyramid based on thuggery and vitriol.

Ahem.

The actual tenets of Christianity are non-violent. Yes, yes, the Old Testament, and yes, yes, Jesus said “I have not come to bring peace but a sword,” but that’s not the core of Jesus’s teaching. However, the Christianists who run the Evangelical Party don’t care about what Jesus actually taught, and are putting up straw men in order to convince their soldiers that they must fight for Jesus’s kingdom on earth - which is the exact opposite of what He actually wanted.

The Man Who Saw Yesterday’s Coup Attempt Coming Is Only Surprised It Wasn’t Much Worse (GQ)

Arieh Kovler knew. “On January 6, armed Trumpist militias will be rallying in DC, at Trump’s orders,” he wrote on Twitter on December 21st. “It’s highly likely that they’ll try to storm the Capitol after it certifies Joe Biden’s win. I don’t think this has sunk in yet.” It sank in for the rest of us yesterday, when Trumpist militias stormed the capitol. If Arieh Kovler knew, why didn’t everyone else?

We all could have, says Kovler, a political consultant with a background in government relations in the U.K. who studies extremist Trump message boards. In his telling, it wasn’t all that difficult to see the writing on the wall. (In fact, many people went beyond Kovler, and went as far as to email DC police warning them of an incoming siege.) A single Trump tweet had the power to provoke his base into organizing yesterday’s events. “Big protest in D.C. on January 6th. Be there, will be wild!” Trump wrote. “Once Trump said be there,” Kovler said on a phone call Thursday morning, “they interpreted that as a call to action, as their marching orders.” As one Trump supporter on Reddit interpreted it: “DADDY SAYS BE IN DC ON JAN. 6TH.”

Hm. Jesus did say I’ve come not to abolish the Law, but to fulfill it. He would set father against daughter, &c.

All holy books have been written by people, and it’s people who interpret them. The second the Roman Empire made Christianity the state religion, Christians went around the world enforcing that by persuasion if they could, and war if they couldn’t.

Jesus didn’t come and say, you know, all those old laws about which slaves you could own and for how long, and if they didn’t die in a few days it was okay? Christians have been slavers right up until the end of our Civil War. The Bible was cited in every secession document in this country, and it wasn’t “evangelicals” who were doing that.

Christians of every denomination in this country to this day throw children out on the streets for the crime of saying “I don’t believe.”

I’ll have to bow out of this line of conversation, because I know where it leads.

Probably a new thread by now, but even two years ago when I was on a trip with students there were ultra-rightists driving semi-trailers around the Imperial Palace calling for support for Trump.

I wonder if anyone expelled from the Senate returned to run a successful presidential campaign.

The only thing I can find in my research is that 14 Southern senators were expelled in 1861-1862 for either being Confederates or offering aid and comfort to the Confederacy. I’m going to go out on a limb and say that none of those successfully became President. The Senate history website says that no senators have since been expelled, though it has been considered on 16 different occasions.

I was raised in a Kraft household, my father worked there for over 30 years. So for me it’s Kraft Singles, Kraft Mac and Cheese, and I have a strong preference for Miracle Whip, though I do eat mayo sometimes.

Big plant in my town in Illinois. Lots of friends worked there. I like their products but find the Mac and Cheese is no longer a comfort food. This is how I’ve grown.

Every GOPer is scared shitless that they will be forced to vote on impeachment to remove Trump from office.

Every GOPer knows that they must vote to remove because the evidence is overwhelming that Trump incited and directed the insurrection and attempted coup.

They also know that if they do so, it ends the GOP and their base will rise up against them. They were already targeted once, and are cowed by the fucking fascists that they helped radicalize.

They are desperate to avoid a vote, and yet they’re also unwilling to force Trump to resign. This is the conundrum.

Fuck them.

Impeach.

14A too:

Section 3.
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any state legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any state, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof. But Congress may by a vote of two-thirds of each House, remove such disability.

It’s a straight majority vote to eject. It takes a 2/3 to provide that person eligibility once again.

Every avenue must be sought and used.

I realize I’m preaching to the crowd, but—

“Lest we inflame Trump supporters further” is another version of wife-beater logic.

No one can actually guarantee what will make these people angry when they’ve built an entire identity around seeking narcissistic grievance: they’ve literally just demonstrated that they are so disengaged from reality that they’ll do something public, ugly, and violent, yet still view themselves as victims.

Just like in a violent marriage, any sense that things have gone back to “normal” just means another unpredictable explosion in the future, and there is no formula for how dangerous the next explosion will be.

This is the attitude that permeates businesses throughout the country: the poor and working class must be forced to continue to work under dangerous conditions, but if they fall ill, it’s their problem and the business has no financial responsibility. Keep the businesses going but the workers are fungible and need no protection. That is what led to my unfriending a FB friend (who I knew IRL for 50 years): he mocked and insulted me for caring about workers who were being forced back to their plants without any efforts to shield them from COVID.

3.3 million people live in the county of San Diego, and there are plenty of wingnuts, though the county as a whole as turned away from being majority conservative .

Of course there will be clashes on the beach - let’s face it, coastal California is one of the places in continental US where one can go outside in January and it be sunny and 70F, so lots of people go to the beach (where these people are standing off.)

Many many ex military here, most are not wingnuts.

But Pacific Beach (PB, where these people are) tends to draw two types - people with a bit of money who can’t afford La Jolla (just next door), and beach bum types. And college kids.

…yeah but we’re not trying to accurately give credit to an American inventor, we’re doing the Mussolini thing where if an American invented something then we all get a participation trophy.

(coincidentally the same people who like this kind of nationalist pagaentry also only define “Americans” as white Christians….nothing to see there…absolutely no ur-fascist shit going on for decades….)

I was born in Oceanside, when my Da was an Air Liaison Officer at Pendelton early in his career. Used to fly into Miramar when I was in the AF. I really liked visiting Dago.

When it comes to television, the BBC would like a word with that dingbat.

Television became available in crude experimental forms in the late 1920s, but it would still be several years before the new technology would be marketed to consumers. After World War II, an improved form of black-and-white TV broadcasting became popular in the United Kingdom and United States, and television sets became commonplace in homes, businesses, and institutions. During the 1950s, television was the primary medium for influencing public opinion.

Their tower at Alexandria Palace was used as the epicenter of one of the greatest wartime pranks ever: Fooling the Germans’ radio direction-finding system for their night bombers. It just so happened that the Germans, for their Wotan system, picked the wrong frequency - the exact frequency the BBC used to broadcast on from that tower. R. V. Jones took great delight in using their equipment to confuse and misdirect the Jerries.

re: #376 austin_blue

No, looks like they didn’t.

Now and then through the years we Texans have sent our share of buffoons, grifters, lightweights, crooks, ignoramuses and ego-obsessed asses to Washington as representatives of the people. W. Lee “Pass the Biscuits, Pappy” O’Daniel comes to mind. So does Martin Dies, Jr., chairman of the witch-hunting House Un-American Activities Committee. So does Louie Gohmert.
In the wake of last week’s Capitol insurrection, add to this ignominious list the state’s junior senator, Ted Cruz and the 16 Republican House members who voted in favor of discredited objections to certifying the presidential election results in one or more swing states. The Seditious Sixteen voted to short-circuit democracy even after a Trump mob rampaged through the Capitol, even after blood was shed in the halls of that august building.

Also add to this list Ken Paxton. Like a tongue-flapping pup hopping into the bed of his master’s pickup on a jaunt to town, our indictment-burdened, ethics-allergic attorney general headed to Washington last week for no reason other than to stand adoringly alongside President Donald Trump and echo his unhinged calls for insurrection. We called for Paxton to resign months ago because of his own legal problems, including a bloodless insurrection of sorts in Paxton’s own office, staged by whistle blowers in his senior staff alleging corruption. That’s not to mention the outlandish lawsuit he filed in the U.S. Supreme Court seeking to overturn the will of millions of American voters. After his servile pilgrimage to Washington, there’s no question regarding what he ought to do now.
A rampaging mob ransacked the Capitol, our citadel of democracy. Five people, including a Capitol police officer, are dead. Trump and his MAGA maniacs have made a mockery of our democratic institutions, as both Democrats and Republicans (including Cabinet members past and present and White House staff) have acknowledged.

We must hold our elected officials accountable for their role in this outrage. Congress members such as Randy Weber, Brian Babin and even Troy Nehls, the former Fort Bend County sheriff who has been praised for protecting colleagues during the siege, ended the day where they began: in craven thrall to Trump and his true-believers. They must be censured, at the very least.

Cruz, whose resignation we called for Friday, was leader of this fanatic voyage. Since he first announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate back in 2012, Texans have known that he is a talented constitutional lawyer, that he’s smart (if not wise) and that he’s a facile speaker (given to grandiloquence). He has known all along that President Trump’s bellowing accusations about election fraud were bogus. He knew they were about as likely as candidate Trump’s claim back in 2016 that Cruz’s father was in on the JFK assassination.

He knew, and yet Cruz — like his Missouri counterpart, Josh Hawley — is nothing if not calculating. And nakedly ambitious. With presidential ambitions paramount, Cruz calculated that he could ride a Trumpian wave into the White House, perhaps in 2024, by embracing the current president’s absurdist fantasies. Cynicism thy name is Cruz. And Hawley.

Editorial: Catholics need to confess their complicity in the failed coup

ncronline.org

But also among those with some culpability for yesterday’s failed insurrection are more than a few leaders in our church. Catholic apologists for Trump have blood on their hands.
Many Americans expressed shock as they watched the violent mob smash glass and scale the walls while members of Congress cowered under desks or rushed to secure bunkers.
We were not surprised.
This is the culmination of what this presidency has been about from the beginning — and some Catholics have remained silent, or worse, cheered it along, including some bishops, priests, a few sisters, right-wing Catholic media and too many people in the pro-life movement.

We’re talking to you catholicvote.org, Attorney General William Barr and other Catholics in the Trump administration, Amy Coney Barrett, Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Bill Donohue of the Catholic League, rogue prolifer Abby Johnson. Sadly, the list goes on.

Many of these folks have been shaped by right-wing Catholic media, whether rogue priests on Twitter, websites such as Church Militant or LifeSiteNews, or the Catholic media conglomerate the Eternal Word Television Network (EWTN). The latter, with its veneer of respectability, has misinformed millions of Catholics worldwide with its biased news and opinion shows. EWTN anchor Raymond Arroyo, who moonlights on Laura Ingraham’s show “The Ingraham Angle” on Fox News, where he is freed from the EWTN’s alleged respectability, deserves singling out.

Worry about “Inflaming Trump supporters”???

They live in a sea of flaming rage. It is their lifeblood. Trying to make Trump supporters less “inflamed” is like trying to get a dolphin to walk upright on land. It simply is not possible to take them out of their element and expect good results.

Even after attaining 100% of all their power-grabbing dreams it still won’t be enough. As with any fascist movement there are always more and more people to hate, more and more people “taking stuff from us that’s rightfully ours” and more and more people that are not “our kind of people.”

The only way out of this is through a massive cult deprogramming strategy. We must set up a central fact checking center and rumor control system. Russia and China’s authoritarian systems regulating content will not work or be Constitutional. But an easily accessible site dedicated to facts and easy to digest curated scientific knowledge will help. We will never deprogram 100% of them. They are too far gone into the cult void. But 50% would be enough.

In slightly better news, I had a discussion with my best friend on the topic of Wednesday. Lest we forget, he is mostly in favor of Trump, though he did say during our last conversation that “Trump is a jackass” and that he doesn’t necessarily like Trump personally. When discussing the attack on the Capitol, I was pleasantly surprised; expecting to hear him say, “Antifa instigated the whole thing, plus they’re not wrong ‘cuz Trump won the election,” he instead opened with, “I don’t care who they are or who they support, they’re criminals and they need to be locked the fuck up.” The rest of the day proceeded much more genially after that.

Television involved different inventors from all over the world, and there are all sorts of “firsts.” From the same Wikipedia article

In 1928, WRGB, then W2XB, was started as the world’s first television station. It broadcast from the General Electric facility in Schenectady, NY. It was popularly known as “WGY Television”. Meanwhile, in the Soviet Union, Léon Theremin had been developing a mirror drum-based television, starting with 16 lines resolution in 1925, then 32 lines and eventually 64 using interlacing in 1926. As part of his thesis, on 7 May 1926, he electrically transmitted, and then projected, near-simultaneous moving images on a 5-square-foot (0.46 m2) screen.
