The Q team is an extension of a pre-Trump strategy…. of course, there’s no doubt that DJT is aware of Q and the team or certainly members of it….

But THE PLAN as we follow it from the beginning of Q, has very little to do with President Trump… though he did facilitate particular parts of that PLAN.. no doubt for me anyway..

You might call him a figurehead, but this whole PLAN is not dependent on DJT and in all likelihood DJT probably only knows part of that plan… in terms of an overview but not in terms of running it or THE PLAN..

To make such a link is missing the majority of what Q has posted in respect of THE PLAN…

JUST BECAUSE PRESIDENT TRUMP IS NO LONGER IN OFFICE HAS LITTLE TO NO BEARING ON THE PLAN OR THE STRATEGY WE ARE WATCHING PLAY OUT….

It has taken much, much longer for the GOP leadership to realize that they best dissociate themselves from the Trump fiasco.

I am working on another page that contains some of my predictions and yeah, I know, these usually come BEFORE Jan. 1.

But like so many things - accepting electoral reality, seating cabinet secretaries - things lagged a bit this year.

Oh, these little paragraphs are going to have to grow legs & start to walk right into a Senate chamber in the next few months, if we have any open of maintaining our democracy

“A big factor in this is media regulator Ofcom, which enforces rules on impartiality and accuracy for all news broadcasters. Those who breach the rules can be censured or fined — putting pressure on TV channels to play stories fairly straight.

Russian state-funded news channel RT, for example, was slapped with a £200,000 ($272,000) penalty for repeatedly breaking impartiality rules in its 2018 coverage of the poisonings of former double agent Sergei Skripal and his daughter, as well as the conflict in Syria. It has not been fined since.”

Trump’s fuquery lives on:

Not Sure How Jailing 9-Year-Old With US Visa Makes Us Any Safer, But Border Patrol Did It (Wonkette)

This whole story of the nine year-old (deported to the wrong country) and his nineteen year-old brother (still in immigration detention) is awful.

President Biden’s immigration deportation moratorium takes effect tomorrow. The two brothers’ mother has tickets to fly to San Francisco but is concerned she would be swept up.

ICE used the standard “we don’t know if the nine year-old was a victim of sex trafficking” then after separating the brothers treated the nine year-old as an “unaccompanied minor” as the justification to deport him.

So “unity” means implementing all existing GOP programs to destroy the environment. Is there a single modern GOP senator who is concerned about the environment at all?

Sigh. It’s bad enough dealing with traditional Republicans like McConnell, whose only wishes are for power and for re-distributing riches to the wealthiest among us. Now we also have to deal with true believers like Greene and Boebert and Hawley. Let’s also remember it’s not the high school dropout Boebert who wanted to impeach Biden before he took office, but the college graduate Greene who has this intention.

I woke up so joyous this morning, and now Republicans are demonstrating for everyone to see that Trump wasn’t the real problem. If there were justice, McConnell would be struck by lightning this morning and the Kentucky governor appoints a Democratic replacement.

Morning Joe ran a story about how brilliantly amazingly wonderful it was to have Garth Brooks sing a somewhat pandering version of Amazing Grace at the inauguration. I just left a comment in the YouTube clip about how very republican it was for Garth to not put his mask on before going over to greet and shake hands with the new prez and both veeps.

I’m going to be sorry I did that, aren’t I?

And I already hate any version of Amazing Grace due to events that happened around my father’s death. It’s a long story, but that song instantly makes me feel like shit.

Two huge things that need to happen are the Fairness Doctrine and end the filibuster. As long as the majority is quashed and entertainment passes for news, the country is still fucked.

The majority is already silenced because of the Senate structure — where Wyoming and California both get 2 senators, thanks to gerrymandering by the Constitution. And then thanks to state gerrymandering, the House also is often governed by the party that represents fewer people.

Fairness Doctrine won’t help because it applied only to broadcast media, and would not cover cable or streaming. Right now much of the indoctrination happens online and not necessarily through Fox/Newsmax/OANN.

Keystone does create well paying jobs - on a temporary basis. They move into communities, whereupon housing prices explode from demand, but nobody is going to build any more housing because they know that the boom will move on.

So all that extra money the workers are earning goes towards covering exorbitant rents. The communities gain little and then only temporarily…

Liberal Vermont, Connecticut, and Rhode Island aren’t about to give up their power in the Senate either.

2018, 2019, 2020, and the Georgia runoffs show that Democrats have to keep engaging voters despite gerrymandering (which works against the minority party in large turnouts).

Add every territory that wants to be a state. Population “too small?” There isn’t anything in the Constitution about what the requirement is for a “correct” population. The entire New States Clause reads:

New States may be admitted by the Congress into this Union; but no new State shall be formed or erected within the Jurisdiction of any other State; nor any State be formed by the Junction of two or more States, or Parts of States, without the Consent of the Legislatures of the States concerned as well as of the Congress.

If the Northern Marianas Islands want to become a state? Let ‘em in. Let the GOP argue why Americans should be disenfranchised.

Jonathan Turley is among those who wrote up a law review paper about how you can impeach and remove at trial even if someone has resigned or otherwise left office.

It’s the political act of removal that shows no one is above the law. Trump and GOP delayed the trial so that the GOP treasonweasel caucus could claim the issue is moot.

Fuck that. They purposefully delayed the trial to give them an excuse to do nothing. They wanted to avoid having to vote to remove Trump while he was still in office, and want to avoid a vote because they know enough GOPers will show complicity with Trump’s effort to overthrow the government.

From the article

If an official could only be disqualified while he or she still held office, then an official who betrayed the public trust and was impeached could avoid accountability simply by resigning one minute before the Senate’s final conviction vote,” they noted. “The Framers did not design the Constitution’s checks and balances to be so easily undermined.”

Really important bit:

More than 150 legal scholars signed on to the letter, which was obtained by POLITICO. They include Steven Calabresi, the co-founder of the Federalist Society; Charles Fried, who served as solicitor general under Ronald Reagan and is now an adviser to the Harvard chapter of the Federalist Society; Ilya Somin, a law professor at George Mason University and adjunct scholar at the libertarian Cato Institute; and Brian Kalt, a law professor at Michigan State University and leading scholar on the specific question of whether former officials can be impeached.

The letter/statement is well reasoned. And there’s a pretty good cross-section of schools represented.

And about those “late-night ballot dumps”.

By all rights, all those mail-in, absentee and early votes should have been counted first, as they were already in.

But I assume it is standard procedure that they are counted last because in most all other previous elections, they only represented a small portion of the vote and rarely enough to tip the outcome one way or another except in a very close race.

But the majority of absentee, mail-in and early voters were people who did not want to risk exposure to covid, and for some inexplicable reason, most of these people were Democrats.

Why could that be? Because the President was repeatedly heard and seen calling covid a hoax and mail-in voting fraudulent? Hmmm…

Mail voting is only fraudulent in Democratic-leaning states. In Utah and Nebraska it’s totally on the up-and-up.

Rep Adrian Smith (R-NE3) was busy bashing black voters Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia whilst his entire election was by mail ballot.

The claim “states changed their election laws by mailing out applications” was never leveled against Nebraska, which did the same thing.

while trump inherited one of the best economies of any modern president and still tried to take total credit for it

“Another 900,000 people filed new unemployment claims last week, President Donald Trump’s last in office, a snapshot of the significant labor market challenges facing President Biden,” the Washington Post reports.

“An additional 423,000 people in 47 states filed new claims for Pandemic Unemployment Assistance, the program created to help gig and self-employed workers.”

“Altogether, nearly 16 million people were claiming benefits as of Jan. 2, the last week available for that measurement. That number is expected to increase in the coming weeks as people who were dropped from the unemployment rolls after their benefits expired file new claims to take advantage of the extension passed by Congress at the last minute in December.”

If it was $45K for the third infraction, then $135K for the fourth, and so on, with no limit, we’d have something that could make even the wealthy behave.

Taking fines out of their salary doesn’t make that money non-taxable. Someone like MTG could get fined 20K before realizing that’s a bit more salary than she wants to sacrifice, but then she’d still get a W-2 reflecting that as pay.

I passed this over because I thought from the blurb thatb t was just Paul Gosar’s nine siblings bitching about him again, but nooooo. It’s about my Rep, Andy Biggs, and two of his brothers letting loose to the Arizona Republic. This is serious…Andy’s family is Mormon and usually this kind of stuff doesn’t come out when you’re talking about “families are forever.”

Rep. Andy Biggs’ brothers: ‘Andy spread election fraud lies’

Rep. Andy Biggs’ two brothers have publicly castigated him for sowing doubt about President Joe Biden’s election win and called for his removal from office.

In a letter to the editor at The Arizona Republic, William Biggs and Daniel Biggs of Tucson said their brother, who argued to set aside Arizona’s election results in Congress, is “at least partially to blame” for the deadly riot at the U.S. Capitol two weeks ago.

William Biggs, 67, said he is a Democrat who isn’t close to his Republican brother but could no longer quietly disagree with his political efforts after the riot. Daniel Biggs could not be reached for comment. Andy Biggs also was not immediately available for comment.

just felt like tacit approval of the things that he’s done,” William Biggs told The Arizona Republic in an interview. “Always before on things big and small that he’s done I’ve just kind of kept my mouth shut and gritted my teeth. This just seemed like too big a moment to just sit on the sidelines and not say anything.”

*snip*

Biggs’ brothers see him as contributing to the atmosphere that precipitated the violence.

“By attempting to cause uncertainty in the election’s outcome, Andy is at least partially to blame for the riot at the Capital on January 6,” the Biggs brothers wrote in their letter. “Political ambition, peer pressure and fealty to (former President Donald) Trump proved to be too strong a drug to resist.

“These are violations of his oath of office and erode the trust of the American electorate. For these reasons we call for the timely removal of Congressman Biggs from office.”

Federal officials this weekend arrested the head of a fringe medical group that has promoted false claims about vaccines and the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine in connection with the deadly Jan. 6 riot at the U.S. Capitol.

The Justice Department said in charging documents that it had charged Simone Gold, head of America’s Frontline Doctors, with violent entry, disorderly conduct and entering a restricted building. John Strand, the group’s communications director, was also charged in connection with the riot, with the Justice Department including images of both inside the building.

“… The person captured in Talorico’s viral photo, which was shared by tens of thousands on social media, has not been identified. Talorico said that while the journalist in her wanted to ask the person’s identity and see why they were there, she “knew it was a time to be respectful.”

“I drove away,” she said, adding, “Some things in life you just let be.” …”

On the other hand, liberal areas aren’t doing all that well either. I’m with Kaiser, but Stanford Medical has vaccines and will give appointments to over 65s (Northern CA Kaiser has basically no vaccine because most of the limited supplies are going to Southern CA.) So, I made an appointment with Stanford but I’ve been on hold for nearly 2 hours with a simple question about payment because out of network and all that. There shouldn’t be much cost, but they talk about bringing your insurance card and co-pay on the appointment site. CA is a mess.

It’ll get better with federal coordination.

Would (should) be an easy fix to undo Dotard’s EO. Lots of American families are desperate to see their Cuban relatives.

He may want to wait until we have a functioning State department that can provide guidance for all foreign policy changes.

Or maybe he should ask Jared to handle it.

If I were SNL, I would recreate the Psaki presser and have the press kind of whispering “this isn’t funny, this is serious” and things like that, and then when Psaki leaves a member of the press lets out a huge fart and they all laugh themselves silly.

Maybe: but unfortunately, any policy that has anything to do with Cuba tends to bring the hardline nutbars out in Florida out screeching and hollering about “supporting communists” - egged on by Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio, usually - and those folks are still a significant voting bloc.
Trump’s Cuba policy was/stupid and generally counterproductive (like the bulk of Trump’s policies, not to mention most of US policy towards Cuba for the last 50 years), but it would probably be better for Biden to wait a bit and slip in the changes under-the-radar.

Getting rid of the saboteurs. Washington Post, writing about her boss:

Brandon Magner, a labor lawyer who writes the newsletter Labor Law Lite, said that Robb had declined to hire new staffers as they left through attrition to centralize power in Washington. Magner wrote that the agency had lost a quarter of its staff since he took over with more than half of the NLRB’s regional offices with vacancies in supervisor positions, hampering enforcement of the law, Magner wrote.

Robb’s mission in accepting the general counsel job wasn’t just to reverse Obama Board decisions and create pro-management precedent. It was to destroy the agency as we currently know it,” Magner wrote Thursday.

I like to keep up with Marcy Wheeler at @emptywheel, but she really needs an editor, IMO. Her fast-firing brain that allows her to keep up with so much also seems to lead to almost incoherent posts, and sometimes even blog postings. (Hopefully, whoever “bmaz” is isn’t here because that person is her most loyal defender against even minor suggestions to the contrary—that she should take a moment to reread and clarify her thoughts.) Nothing particular in mind. It just occurs to me from time to time. Carry on, Dr. Marcy, but consider your readers.

Now that Parler is hosted on Russian servers, it’s probably safe to assume that the Russians now have access to all of the passwords rocket scientists like Hawley, Cruz, Greene, Boebert, Jordan, Gaetz, Gohmert, etc. use when they create online accounts…and probably the same as the ones they use to access their government accounts.

Won’t any sort of hack be detectable by use of good grammar, punctuation, and some semblance of logic in their postings?

ICE used the standard “we don’t know if the nine year-old was a victim of sex trafficking” then after separating the brothers treated the nine year-old as an “unaccompanied minor” as the justification to deport him.

No. ICE didn’t do that.

Actual individual human beings, working for ICE, did that.

They should be tried, convicted, and punished for their actions.
