ICE used the standard “we don’t know if the nine year-old was a victim of sex trafficking” then after separating the brothers treated the nine year-old as an “unaccompanied minor” as the justification to deport him.

Mail voting is only fraudulent in Democratic-leaning states. In Utah and Nebraska it’s totally on the up-and-up.

I’m with Kaiser, but Stanford Medical has vaccines and will give appointments to over 65s (Northern CA Kaiser has basically no vaccine because most of the limited supplies are going to Southern CA.) So, I made an appointment with Stanford but I’ve been on hold for nearly 2 hours with a simple question about payment because out of network and all that. There shouldn’t be much cost, but they talk about bringing your insurance card and co-pay on the appointment site. CA is a mess.

Trump’s Cuba policy was/stupid and generally counterproductive (like the bulk of Trump’s policies, not to mention most of US policy towards Cuba for the last 50 years), but it would probably be better for Biden to wait a bit and slip in the changes under-the-radar.

Brandon Magner, a labor lawyer who writes the newsletter Labor Law Lite, said that Robb had declined to hire new staffers as they left through attrition to centralize power in Washington. Magner wrote that the agency had lost a quarter of its staff since he took over with more than half of the NLRB’s regional offices with vacancies in supervisor positions, hampering enforcement of the law, Magner wrote.
“Robb’s mission in accepting the general counsel job wasn’t just to reverse Obama Board decisions and create pro-management precedent. It was to destroy the agency as we currently know it,” Magner wrote Thursday.

I like to keep up with Marcy Wheeler at @emptywheel, but she really needs an editor, IMO. Her fast-firing brain that allows her to keep up with so much also seems to lead to almost incoherent posts, and sometimes even blog postings. (Hopefully, whoever “bmaz” is isn’t here because that person is her most loyal defender against even minor suggestions to the contrary—that she should take a moment to reread and clarify her thoughts.) Now that Parler is hosted on Russian servers, it’s probably safe to assume that the Russians now have access to all of the passwords rocket scientists like Hawley, Cruz, Greene, Boebert, Jordan, Gaetz, Gohmert, etc. use when they create online accounts…and probably the same as the ones they use to access their government accounts.
