I’ll admit that some of these nuts running around as well as the nazi’s in the boonies around here are what makes me carry my own concealed weapon (and even then only occasionally) but it’s only the one and I don’t consider body armor to be the part of my casual attire.

Now if I thought there was actually going to be one of those rifle toting idiots to be dealt with, my 20 gauge loaded with #3 buck and slug (alternating) would make moot any body armor available to civilians.

Considering the number of Al Qaren militants I’ve seen and heard of in grocery stores in the past year, I can understand body armor.

I’m so annoyed that 99% of these asshats are going to have no consequences for all of this shit.

It also has the benefit of *not* killing your next-door with a 3,000 ft/second bullet, even if you miss.

Any gamer can tell you, a rifle is for medium- or long-range work. If you’re talking home defense, it’s a shotgun every time.

An economics consideration. Given the disdain of the “libertarians” out there for our modern fiat currency, it’s arguable that there would not be much use of it after a collapse of central government.

By the same token, even though they love their gold and silver, you can’t eat it and or take any food with it.

Nope. Ammunition will become the currency of the day in such an America.
10 rounds 9mm/5.56 as the “dollar”. Varying exchange rates for other ones - popular ones (30-30, 30-06, 308, etc) worth than less common (30-40, 7mm mauser) ones.

At least I think some of these horders must think so… I’d just like to find some affordable 9mm target ammo again.

He’s still thinking about the USA as a country that hasn’t blown it’s chance to be trusted by Latin America, and thus can offer help and solidarity without being read as a bad faith actor. I don’t fucking get it. Like, this man is well compensated and performs the part of being a thinker, but has no consideration for what the long history of American intervention in the Caribbean, Central America, and South America means.

I really feel like there’s a kind of pundit that’s paid to not reflect on shit, but also to be perfectly confident in public spaces saying that everything was fine, nothing to worry about.

Google maps satellite image caught two ships at the southern end of the Great Bitter Lake (in the middle of the MarineTraffic map I posted above, where currently there are several ships parked) passing each other:

goo.gl

You can see how much larger one of those massive container ships is compared to a standard size ship.

Compared to the static google maps image, the MarineTraffic map shows several times more ships parked at the ends of the canal.

My dog on his first night chewed through the heater cord to my waterbed. Shorted out the whole house, probably gave himself a bit of a shock… he never again chewed ANYTHING other than food. Not even rawhide bones.
