Julian isn’t afraid to let his tone get distorted instead of that super-clean, no-sustain tone almost every other jazz player sticks with.

Another industry source openly mocked Trump’s claims.

“It’s likely that a few unlikely people did approach him!” said an industry source in a text message. “But that could be, like, a publisher in Zimbabwe.”

That source punctuated their joke with a laughing/crying emoji, while still another mocked the ex-president.

“Somebody could have offered him $100,” a third source said. “It doesn’t mean anything.”

She had done recent dust up over bullying. She’s been back for some time now. I dunt know what the bullying thing was about… Didn’t really care enough to read the article.

Aside from being married to John Legend, the dust-up came from her flying from Los Angeles to Tokyo, taking eight hours in total.

She live-tweeted the drama over a passenger who was on the wrong flight (the reason for the turnback).

Wingnuts were convinced that somehow she was involved in child trafficking due to Qanon or there were sealed indictments for their arrest (for something).

The harassment from conservatives got so bad she left Twitter. The company itself hid behind libertarian free speech.

Something. Because it takes me at best about 5 minutes to earn 25 points and that only if I’m doing a lesson I’ve already done before. A new one earns 15. That’s at best 300 per hour. So 3600 for a 12 hour day, compared to 9000 for that person.

I hope everyone is staying at least safely cooled off in this heat. It’s officially the time to get outdoor chores done early in the day, then come in and clean up and do dinner prep things. And feed the dog, and do the laundry, dust and vacuum, all the basic, daily ack. We tried staining some wood patio chairs this afternoon and it was brutal.

The European serfs were slaves, but attached to the land. Chattel slavery means you can load them into a wagon and take them somewhere else, or split up a family by selling some of them away.

I went to the grocery store and virtually everyone was still wearing their mask.
I think I’d be fine without one, but I don’t want to make anyone nervous, so I’ll keep it on until most people ditch them. I feel bad for the kids who can’t be vaccinated yet and so still have to mask.

Yeah, they did more. They hauled him in and interrogated him for several hours in the middle of the night, then released him and said there was probably just an uncleaned machine. Pfaugh. MAGAts want to have it both ways all the way to the very end: This was a very deadly “bioweapon” that Fauci played some part in the creation of and then lied to cover up which makes him responsible for hundreds of thousands of deaths but is also so harmless that lockdowns and masks were not means of protection but actually part of an elaborate plan that he was part of to steal the election by robbing us of our rights and freedoms.

70

Perhaps the “liberal media” might take a second and ask MTG and the others screaming for Fauci’s head a simple question: “In the past year, we’ve been told that estimated total death counts are padded by doctors looking for higher reimbursements, doctors misattributing deaths from underlying conditions to the virus, and other theories meant to downplay the severity of the pandemic. In light of all that, just how many deaths are you willing to attribute to the ‘lies’ told by Dr. Fauci?”

The officer was “lying in wait” for her because HE WAS FUCKING PROTECTING PEOPLE IN THE ROOM. I liked the suggestion I saw here earlier - if Gosar is so concerned about what happened to Babbitt, why doesn’t he vote for something like, oh, I don’t know, a bipartisan 1/6 Commission to look into the events of that day and find out?

So she sabotaged her career over Bitcoin?

Daily Beast: Wait, This Is Why a Local Fox Reporter Sabotaged Her Career?

In one piece of surreptitiously recorded footage, Fox 26 assistant news director Lee Meier was seen explaining why the station does not do more stories on Bitcoin. In the clip, Meier said it’s “an editorial choice” to not cover the cryptocurrency because it likely would not appeal to the station’s early-evening broadcast viewership.

“I have passed on Bitcoin stories by almost every single reporter for our five o’clock audience, because that’s not our five o’clock audience,” Meier stated. “So, there are lots of reasons. If I know our numbers are tanking from five to six and in one particular segment… I may say, yeah, and Bitcoin for poor African-American audience at five, it’s probably not going to play. That’s a choice I’m making.”

Reacting to Meier’s rather mundane remarks about the incentives of broadcast news, Hecker declared to O’Keefe: “I want out of this narrative news telling! I want out of this corruption!”

And there’s a lot more. O’Keefe cetainly knows how to kill people’s careers….

Same as I’ve said about this whole “the president can’t be indicted or prosecuted” bullshit. So going with that it would be perfectly fine for Biden to himself, or him to order someone else, to go into the supreme court and kill all conservative judges. I can guarantee you that the man who shoved a darning needle into his eye socket because he wanted to write a monograph about the phantom colors we sometimes see, even in the dark, is not a man who was sexually timid: “I wonder what would happen if I lubed up this cylinder and shoved it up my ass…..” We’ll probably discover this is gonna be like Name of the Rose. There’s a hidden library somewhere with a lost Newton monograph: “The Penis Pump: It really is my Bag, Baby!”

Same as I’ve said about this whole “the president can’t be indicted or prosecuted” bullshit. So going with that it would be perfectly fine for Biden to himself, or him to order someone else, to go into the supreme court and kill all conservative judges. Pardon himself or the person he told to do it. Put out the names of those he wants on the court, and then threaten to kill any who vote against them. And that would all be dandy, no harm no foul.

If we had a functioning Congress, he would be impeached and removed by the Senate, then he would be prosecuted.

Yeah, they did more. They hauled him in and interrogated him for several hours in the middle of the night, then released him and said there was probably just an uncleaned machine. Pfaugh. I bet they made the whole thing up. Then the cop unions covered for them. The cops went to the hospital but weren’t sick and were released.

The manager at the time comped the cops for free food, and then senior NYPD came in and insisted this was a crime scene and investigating for attempted poisoning.

None of this ever made any sense since the cops had ordered the food via app, and there was no way those working on making the shakes would know who would receive them.

It was always BS, and the manager should sue the PBA and Pat Lynch out of existence.

They couldn’t even be bothered to give the girl a uniform like everyone else’s either. This was another example of disability inclusiveness being used for publicity.

My son’s old high school still has a separate “special needs prom”. It’s planned and executed by the other kids, and it’s shit compared to the actual prom. It’s held during daylight hours at the school. The actual prom is held at a fancy venue with room for several hundred people. The special needs prom committee doesn’t include a single student with a disability. As of when my son graduated in 2012, nothing has changed. There was an article in our tiny local paper that only included the kids who planned the prom, none of the students they were supposed to be helping were photographed or interviewed. The practice needs to go. Include everyone or fuck your prom.

Looks like the threat of “marching season” (a veiled threat by the DUP a couple of weeks ago) is influencing BoJo’s government:

British Government considers unilaterally extending Brexit grace period amid fears of loyalist violence

[…]

Lord Frost acknowledged the issue has become more difficult because of the “weakening of consent” for the protocol arrangements in unionist groups.

In recent months multiple protests have been organised in Northern Ireland to highlight loyalist opposition to the protocol and claims of two-tier policing.

DUP MP Ian Paisley asked Lord Frost if the Government would consider “unilaterally scrapping” the protocol, adding “this can’t go on much longer before something gives and I am seriously worried about the fabric of our society at this point”.

[…]

The DUP, a religious-right party, likes being a plantation of London even to this day is that they get to play spoiler in any coalition talks in Parliament. If left to the wilds of Ireland, the religious right Protestants of the DUP would find themselves out in the cold, being neither Catholic, nor modernist.

fivethirtyeight.com has an article up about how dangerously polarized our politics has become, in part due to our two party “us against them” political system. They propose, as I have before, that our politics would be less polarized if we had a multi-party system, created by introducing some proportionality to our current “first past the post” system. We should expand the House and elect many representatives to Congress through proportional representation, which wouldn’t even require a constitutional amendment. But good luck convincing the current major parties to make this reform and share power. Meanwhile, one of the two major parties is giving up on democracy and is going full fascist.

TWIN FALLS — The school spirit rocks on the lawns outside Twin Falls and Canyon Ridge high schools are usually painted with messages celebrating a student’s birthday or supporting an athletics team before a big game.

Parkinson’s takes a long time to show. For the first few years, the visible symptoms are just half an hour twice a day when it’s time for meds; even as far as 10 years in, there’s hours in a row, every day, where it wouldn’t show up on camera.

Yeah, that height thing is really weird: I was looking at the pics from the G7 meeting, and (with the notable exception of Justin Trudeau), Pres. Biden seemed to tower over most of the other leaders: and he is supposed to be just 6’ tall. Googling Vladimir Putin, it says he is 168cm tall (just over 5’6”). I’m guessing whoever stages Putin’s meetings has to be sure to avoid situations where the height differential is too obvious.
Maybe when he met with Trump, he was surreptitiously standing on a box?

Not gonna lie, I’ve actually thought about doing this. I’m just not sure what to do about fuel containment, but it seems like it can be done fairly straightforwardly with neon transformers and some metal work.

Ooooookaaaay then. Just let us know before you try to reach criticality as I want to be looking the other way when the new sun blossoms on the horizon. :-)

LOL. A backyard fusion reactor can’t reach criticality, not even close. I’ll basically be making a pluggable neutron generator that I can use to irradiate some prairie grass.

The problem is that you can’t build a strong enough containment field to actually manage plasma level temps and energy with an off the shelf transformer. It takes several levels of step ups and then you have to be very careful about magnetism as well.

This is, of course, presuming you’re looking at the classic Tokamak design path.

It makes a great Bugaboo to get grandpa’s BVDs in a twist and get him shouting back at the TV screen, just like wokedness, political correctness, defunding the police, the 1619 Project, BLM and Antifa.

Told Trump to not wear his lifts.

If you plan on doing some - or - all interior work yourself - may I suggest you get the AC checked out and cooling.

Hopefully there’s an adjacent electrical outlet to shore power your unit.

The Forgotten History of America’s Worst Racial Massacre
Hundreds of black citizens were murdered by shooting, burning, hanging.
Troops were sent in to perform Genocide.
Surviving blacks were indicted. Convictions were vacated. No whites were charged

And yet Republicans want to whitewash history by banning Critical Race Theory.

While being carefully taught in the early 1960s by Old Man Messick, I was told stories like these in which he participated. Which in his view was how the Civil Rights agitators should be dealt with.

re: #207 DodgerFan1988

I know it shouldn’t surprise me, but I really was freaked out learning that wealthy white people hired private planes to drop literal bombs on Tulsa. That was the thing, among many things that hit me upside the head. Here you had a successful community, doing all the things white people say they want minorities to do to “fit into the Real America” and white people decided they did too good of a job and murdered and destroyed an entire community of people succeeding when all the cards were stacked against them. It’s like that all over the country, our history is littered with this shit. We’ve also never dealt with what happened in this country’s genocide of Native American peoples either. There were a ton of reservation schools in the US and I can assure you there are bodies buried on many of those properties that were never accounted for. I’m glad it’s coming out now, I’m just not sure it will help effect change and fix what’s broken. Too many Americans think it’s their right to be racist sacks of shit.

Optics are extremely important to a lot of mouth breathers on the far right. Biden’s rather impressive physical stature next to Putin will probably up Biden’s approval numbers +20% to 30% short term in that demo (as sad as that is to say).
