Republicans are bristling over Senate Majority Leader Charles Schumer’s (D-NY) hardball strategy to try to force them to finalize a bipartisan infrastructure deal in a matter of days,” The Hill reports.

“Republican negotiators and members of leadership believe Schumer is trying to jam them and warn that they won’t vote to start debate even on a shell bill that the Democratic leader is intending to use a vehicle for the bipartisan deal once it’s finalized.”

Peter Doocy attempts a gotcha question about Cuba and communism. Jen Psaki says that actually the Biden administration isn’t into communism.

Jesus, it’s like Doocy is trying to be the Babe Ruth of gotcha questions, in that he’s swinging at just about everything and striking out in the hopes of somehow maybe sending one out of the park.

BTW with ya on the Guardian article on Russia. Too good to be true is almost always false.

Whether true or not, how does this release of papers accomplish anything useful? It was well established that Putin’s minions used their access to social media to push Trump and disparage Clinton. The questions were always whether the Trump team deliberately collaborated with the Russians in these efforts and whether Trump was being blackmailed or bought by Putin. Putin deciding to help Trump for his own motives may be of historical interest but has nothing to do with whether Trump was a traitor or should be charged with criminal actions for his association with Putin.

In answer to your question nope. Changed no minds at all. And to me, it’s well established the Trump campaign exploited it all, knowingly incurring the debt to Putin.

His father will have grown up in the real world. The kid grew up in the bubble his father helped build and accepted it. Kids like that are always dumber than the parent whose bullshit they failed to see through. The smarter kids smell the BS and reject it, and you get an endless brain-drain as only the dummies and sociopaths stick around.

OK, even taking it as a given that Pete Doocy is a dope - WTF is it with the RW media and their “communism” shtick? AFAICT, every single fucking public statement President Biden and everybody in his Administration has made regarding the Cuban protests has had just two major themes:
1. Sympathy and support for the protestors.
2. Criticism of the Cuban government.
It is just that Wingnut Media can’t get over their antiquated “Democrats are soft on Communism” canards, and fell that they still have to trot out the ancient stereotypes just for criticism’s sake??

So I see that “Irreversible Damage” is trending, and was wondering if it meant the GOP’s continued war against basic democracy and decency.

Nope. It’s about folks whining about the American Booksellers’ Association including an anti-trans book that promotes conversion therapy and acts like trans folk are seducers and groomers in one of their recent mailings.

It consistently impresses and depresses me how successfully folks are able to take their bigotry and wrap populism around it and cast the voices of inclusion and empathy as the great oppressive devil elite persecuting the ‘genuine’ folk for whom Hate is God.
