Dr. Fauci Answers Trevor Noah’s Questions About Coronavirus [VIDEO]

Health • Views: 19,650

YouTube

It must be nice for Dr. Fauci to be interviewed by someone who actually understands the subject and asks serious questions.

Infectious diseases expert Dr. Anthony Fauci shares what makes COVID-19 so insidious, busts myths about the virus and breaks down why adhering to public health guidelines is paramount. #DailyShow #TrevorNoah #DrFauci

UPDATE at 7/28/21 10:45:29 am by Charles Johnson

I didn’t notice when it popped up in my recommendations at YouTube, but this video is actually from last year. Some of it is out of date, but there’s still a lot of good information so I’ll leave it up.

Don’t get me wrong, 2021 isn’t the shit show that 2020 is, but given how much of 2021 is seeming like a rerun of 2020, the confusion is understandable. There are still a lot of people out there who have no idea how this thing works (and don’t care to).

I’ve seen a lot of hate directed at Fauci, together with various bogus rumors that they’ve stopped testing vaccinated people for CoViD (here, the law is to test on reasonable suspicion, and register any positives with authorities).

Relieved to hear it was from last year, because it talked about transfer from door knobs and other surfaces, when that appears to be irrelevant. It also doesn’t address the newer strains, especially delta, that linger in the air for extended periods of time.

say for the sake of argument masks won’t do anything in the house.
dems are all vaccinated (i think)

yeah she’s trying to protect the rest of the Rs there and also lead by example

so say wearing masks wont actually help

Indianapolis FedEx facility mass shooter wanted to ‘demonstrate his masculinity,’ FBI says | ABC News

The FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit concluded that the shooter who killed eight at a FedEx facility in April carried out the shooting as “an act of suicidal murder.”

“The shooter decided to commit suicide in a way which he believed would demonstrate his masculinity and capability of fulfilling a final desire to experience killing people,” FBI Indianapolis Special Agent in Charge Paul Keenan said at a press conference announcing the results of the investigation Wednesday.

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — A small plane crashed Wednesday morning on the side of U.S. 95 north of Creech Air Force Base. Witnesses say the plane burst into flames after the crash, but the pilot was able to escape unharmed.

U.S. 95 is closed in both directions near mile marker 8.

Nye County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene. Deputies say the pilot declined medical attention.

Jim and Jennifer Kendrick witnessed the crash around 9 a.m. on their drive to Reno and shot the video. According to Jennifer Kendrick, the pilot escaped just as the plane caught fire. The pilot can be heard talking in the video.

If you are not familiar with the amazing story of how Dusty Hill and Frank Beard toured as part of a bogus Zombies lineup in 1969 before becoming the rhythm section for ZZ Top, this would be a good day to correct that.

GHWB once tried to power through a state banquet when he wasn’t feeling healthy. “I’ll just go anyway, I’m tough, I can do it.”

He threw up on the Japanese prime minister, then passed out.

Really put a damper on the trade talks.

For a brief time it even became a verb in Japan: bushuru: to unceremoniously vomit on one’s host.

Yes, that’s exactly what they thought. They literally do think that they are so special, so privileged, that they can make other people do the responsible things so they don’t have to and they can reap the benefits.

As Megan Rapinoe Promotes CBD Use, Sha’Carri Richardson Sits Out The Olympics | NPR

U.S. soccer superstar and Olympian Megan Rapinoe has been slinging her own CBD products and promoting their benefits for athletes at the Olympics, and people on Twitter, Instagram and other social media platforms are not having it.

Critics are outraged over alleged hypocrisy and even racism, saying the anti-doping agency for the games is turning a blind eye for the white athlete on the heels of suspending Black sprinter Sha’Carri Richardson after testing positive for marijuana earlier this month.

AFAIK The problem with delta is its rapid reproduction, it’s more transmissible because there’s more of it about.

From one article about that:

Laboratory studies have found particles of the virus can linger in the air in aerosolised form for up to 16 hours.

“Because there was this resistance to actually acknowledge it, we haven’t made the recommendations that we should,” Baxter said.

Prof Raina Macintyre, head of the biosecurity research program at the University of New South Wales’s Kirby Institute, said airborne transmission in indoor settings can occur even in the absence of fleeting contact.

“Respiratory aerosols accumulate in the same way that cigarette smoke accumulates,” she said.

“In an indoor space where the ventilation isn’t adequate, somebody with the infection could have come and gone, but the virus is still lingering in the air. So if you walk through that area and you breathe that air, you could get infected.”

Your brain and body have to be completely in synch to do even basic gymnastics, let alone at the level of Simone Biles. If there’s even a slight glitch, shit will break. This is what people who see athletes as replaceable farm animals do not have a clue about. They view athletes as a commodity instead of human. That’s something about sports that has never set well with me. It’s not just the fans/public, it’s part of that whole super competitive culture.

If I recall correctly, Germany has very restrictive abortion laws.

I’ve been watching Berlin on Amazon. This is a 3 part German about the capital in 1945, with the biggest emphasis naturally being on the harrowing final days of the Reich in April and early May. It follows accounts by several witnesses, with actors reading their words, interspersed with stills and live action film clips. There are many accounts of rape by Russian soldiers during the battle and occupation, and one by an American after US troops arrived in July. One of the interviewees, a female French doctor who had been drafted by the Nazis and had decided to stay on during the occupation, describes the many women who were seeking legal abortions after being raped. These were usually authorized but there was some kind of bureaucratic rigamarole involved, with government officials involved.
