IT’S GOHMERT! In Which Louie Says Thousands of Birds Are Being Burned Alive by Solar Power. They’re Called “Flamers.”

“And down they go, bird guts all over the mirror.”
Weird • Views: 21,047

MP4 Video

In today’s episode of IT’S GOHMERT!, we discover that Louie is actually an animal lover, very concerned about the Green New Deal’s effect on the thousands of birds that somehow make it past those perilous Green New Deal windmills (Trump warned us about those, remember?), only to be fricasseed alive by giant Green New Deal solar power mirrors.

You see, Louie really cares deeply about those poor barbecued birdies.

GOHMERT: In another part of that Green Deal is the huge solar farm that they have out on the border of California and Nevada, thousands of acres of concave mirrors that magnify the sun toward three towers, heat up the liquid in there and turn turbines.

But uh, they weren’t anticipating that there would be hundreds and thousands of what they would call “flamers,” because when the birds fly through, if they survive the windmills, then they hit that magnified sun, explode in flame, and down they go, bird guts all over the mirror. So that takes some cleaning up.

This is the Green Stuff that’s just out of control and is gonna bring the nation down.

First one (actually two) in my county was constructed 25 years ago at the main Vail/I-70 interchange, and we’ve constructed more and more ever since, because they work. Whole towns are roundabouts now.

Arizona Universities Use Superior Reading Skills To Beat Ban On Mask Mandates (Wonkette)

Gov. Doucy’s order and the legislature’s law prohibits “segregating” the unvaccinated. The way they are both written however, does not prohibit mandating masks for everyone, so that’s what the three state universities did.

The law regarding K-12 outright bans masks though so it doesn’t apply to those schools.

‘Karen’ Who Attacked Black Family For Using Community Pool Is Charged With Assault

The footage, filmed on July 6, shows the woman appearing to grab the young boy as he moves around the gate, prompting Brown to yell: ‘Don’t you put your hands on my son’.

She added: ‘I will call the police and I will have you arrested for putting your hands on a minor’.

TikTok users rallied around Brown following the release of the video, with many dubbing the woman at the pool a ‘Karen’ and praising the mother for the way she handled the situation.

In an update posted to her account this week, Brown explained that the video had been taken without her knowledge by another woman at the pool and had initially been removed from TikTok for ‘community guidelines violation of minor safety or some bullsh*t like that’.

Away from the virtual world, however, Brown said the woman at the pool had ultimately been charged misdemeanour assault on a child under 12.

The mother recalled how the woman reportedly attempted to tell police that Brown had attacked her and that the officer was ‘starting to believe her at first based on just the way [they] look’, but she found support in the woman who filmed the video.

The person behind the camera told Brown there had allegedly been issues in the Home Owner’s Association pool committee with people singling out children ‘who aren’t white’, with the woman in the clip having reportedly let two white children in ahead of Brown’s kids, who were told they had to wait outside.

The parallels to Vietnam are uncanny in many aspects, particularly how fast the South fell to the North when you had a government propped up by the US that was incapable of governing or holding territory against a determined foe.

The similarity being that you couldn’t even call the Republic of Viet Nam a kleptocracy, because a kleptocracy is a government of thieves, and the RVN never attempted to govern Vietnam.

GOHMERT: In another part of that Green Deal is the huge solar farm that they have out on the border of California and Nevada, thousands of acres of concave mirrors that magnify the sun toward three towers, heat up the liquid in there and turn turbines.

This can only be the Ivanpah Solar Power Facility at Clark Mountain California. It is not part of any “Green Deal.” It opened in 2014 after more than 20 years of planning and construction. It does use mirrors, and birds do get fried when they get in the concentrated beams. The poor critters are called “streamers” rather than “flamers.” There may be a few thousand of them a year.

This system, using mirrors to focus sunlight on a boiler, is called Concentrated Solar Power (CSP). MOST SOLAR POWERPLANTS DO NOT OPERATE ON THIS PRINCIPLE.

In 2017, CSP represented less than 2% of worldwide installed capacity of solar electricity plants

The rest use the photovoltaic system with the familiar solar cells.
Additionally, growth has been slow in CSP in contrast to explosive growth in photovoltaic systems (a result of reduced costs).

Addendum: I wonder how many birds are killed by collisions with tankers and coal trains every year?

WASHINGTON — The Supreme Court refused on Thursday to block Indiana University’s requirement that students receive a Covid vaccine to attend classes in the fall semester.

It was the first legal test of a Covid vaccine mandate to come before the justices. A challenge to the policy was directed to Amy Coney Barrett, the justice in charge of that region of the country, who denied it. There were no noted dissents from other justices.

Ivanpah kills an estimated 6,000 birds a year. Glass cladding on buildings kills an estimated 365 Mil to ONE BILLION birds a year. Birds don’t see glass very well.

Lack of staff?

I don’t know. I just got a message from a friend on FB whom I used to eat with there regularly.

Ok, just did a quick check, but no answers. Lots of comments on the facebook page but no reasons given. A reddit for B’ton just says (mostly) “not surprised, I worked there and the owners were dicks who underpaid.”

Scottsbluff, Nebr. Star-Herald:

BURLINGTON — A group of anti-mask mandate parents were walking the hallways of Burlington High School, hunting for the School Board that had just abruptly adjourned a meeting, when the crowd was stopped by police.

Two hours prior, Burlington citizens and parents filled the school’s auditorium for a School Board meeting Monday night to speak out about what they believe the district’s mask policy should be for the upcoming school year amid a surge in COVID-19 cases and hospitalizations.

At the start of the meeting, Burlington Area School District Board President Peter Turke reminded attendees on public comment policy.

“I’m responsible as the board president for running the meeting and I want to make sure things go smoothly and want to make sure everyone has a chance to be heard,” Turke said.

Things did not go smoothly.

Throughout the hour of public comment, Turke on several occasions asked the audience to quiet down so the board could hear speakers and so the meeting could flow smoothly from one speaker to the next.

I wish these assholes would stop pretending like they give a tinker’s damn about animals. They don’t. Full Stop. As soon as an animal gets in the way of 1 penny of profit… BANG.

On another note, I’m kind of curious about the efficiency of using the sun to heat up water vs direct conversion in PV and if CSR is worth the space it takes up compared to the space PV takes up.

According to the new US Census data, Nebraska has matched the growth rate average of the United States for the first time in more than one hundred years.

Population increase was 7.4% over the last ten years, moving the state to #37 in population.

Nebraska’s population grew 7.4% during past decade, moving state up to 37th largest in rankings (Omaha World-Herald)

Historically strong population growth over the last decade has helped Nebraska preserve all three of its seats in Congress and pass West Virginia to become the nation’s 37th-largest state.

The U.S. Census Bureau on Monday announced the official 2020 population counts for Nebraska and the rest of the country for purposes of congressional apportionment.

Nebraska’s official head count of 1,961,504 was a 7.4% increase over its 2010 count — equaling the national growth rate during the decade. In fact, Nebraska’s population growth ranked 20th among the 50 states.

The Census also shows that more people are moving in than out, a trend which has continued for three decades.

78% of All Nebraska Counties Saw Their Populations Shrink This Decade (Nebraska Public Media, with audio)

Nebraska’s population growth occurred mostly in the most populous counties - Douglas, Lancaster and Sarpy - with those three counties adding nearly 120,000 Nebraskans from 2010 to 2020. Only 19 other counties saw their population estimates grow, with every other county losing dozens, and in some instances thousands, of people.

All Panhandle counties lost population.

International immigration to Nebraska, steadily rising in numbers for years, reversed during the Trump Reign-of-Error.

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Court of Criminal Appeals on Thursday found a U.S. Supreme Court ruling limiting state jurisdiction for crimes committed on tribal reservations by or against tribal citizens does not apply retroactively.

The ruling could affect hundreds of state convictions that the court previously overturned, many of which resulted in federal charges and convictions, including murder convictions. Oklahoma inmates who thought they would get a new trial in federal court based on the July 2020 decision known as McGirt, including some on death row, could remain in state prison with their sentences upheld.

Federal convictions would not be affected, according to Northern District of Oklahoma assistant U.S. Attorney Kristin Harrington.

DWP Solar power farm

Between the solar panels on my roof, and the solar panels in the pictured massive solar farm run by DWP I’m pretty sure my power is about as clean as one can get on the grid. Just like a whole hell of a lot of homeowners in Los Angeles, we are all getting the benefits of solar.

So some prankster has added me to Trump’s mailing list, and this item showed up in my inbox today:

We’re about to launch our Official Trump Cards, which will be reserved for President Trump’s STRONGEST supporters, and we have some very exciting news to share with you.

We recently met with the President in his Florida office and showed him four designs.

Originally we were planning on releasing just one design, but when President Trump saw the cards on his desk, he said, “These are BEAUTIFUL. We should let the American People decide - they ALWAYS know best!”

So, what do you think? We’re counting ALL responses until 11:59 PM TONIGHT.

President Trump always values your input, and he has made it clear that YOUR voice is the ONLY one that matters.

We’re updating the President the results first thing TOMORROW morning, and we know he’s going to ask which card you voted for. Don’t let him down.

Please vote for your favorite Trump Card by 11:59 PM TONIGHT to make sure President Trump sees your vote.

So what say the lizardom?
