I figured it out what was bothering me so much about Beto running for Governor.

Beto is the Rick Santorum of Democrats.

He’ll never win again.

He needed another term or two in Congress before going after Cruz. I think in 2022 Cruz will be vulnerable to the right candidate. There’s just so much sliminess to him.

Beto O’Rourke: ‘Hell, yes, we’re going to take your AR-15, your AK-47’

Not a fucking prayer.

At least I’ll save some money this cycle.

I’m willing to concede that Beto running for TX-Sen on a promise to take away guns was a dumb thing to do that may have ruined his career.

But I have a big problem with comparing any Democrat to a fucking hateful bigot like Santorum unless the bigotry is the point of comparison.

God knows there is no shortage of doomed D candidacies to use as fodder for comparisons.

Not in that context. Beto’s heart is in the right place but in Texas he’s unelectable. Just like the other guy in Minn.

There job in life is running for office with nothing in between.

Playing twitter embed videos only show the top half of the video for me? It has been this way for a while. Clicking on the link and watching the video has no problems?

I don’t know what that means? I hit the play icon on the video, the player shows up and the bottom 1/2(?) of the video is cropped out while it plays?

Rendering the tweet means either cooking it on low heat for a long time to get the fat from it, or clicking the little round arrow at the bottom of the tweet first.

If you don’t check ‘Show embedded tweets’ at the top of the comments, you aren’t seeing the whole tweet all the time. If you click on the thing that looks too much like the retweet icon, more of the tweet shows, and videos play better.

Rendering fat is a zen ASMRic like hobby for me (bacon grease jar always handy) lol

Hitting the round arrow has no effect on the playback? Audio good, only top half appears in the player

My relatives render anything the butcher won’t use, plus the grease from restaurants, etc. The Skunkworks. I used to have a calendar from them, in which recycling actually charted bovine cannibalism. I lost it, damn it.

The situation with embedded tweets is kind of wacky right now because Twitter seems to be changing things in their tweet rendering API without telling anyone what they’re doing. Sorry for the inconvenience, it’s frustrating for me too! But I’m aware that it’s suddenly gotten weird.

Biodiesel?

At our school we slaughtered a couple cows each year, and the heavy suet was ground and melted in the kitchen. We cast large bars of brown lye soap for heavy cleaning. Our cohort was lucky—earlier generations of kids had to use it for bath soap.

I had to check the box at the top of the comments section
(Show embedded tweets).

Clicking the render icon under the tweet had no effect and the video still played chopped off.

Same later kids, too. Depends on the grandparents! We had to use chunks of homemade lye soap for hands and bathing. The depression really ironed my grandparents flat.

The recycling diagram included soap and lipstick, and as you go down the product line, you get to livestock feed.

Biodiesel is pretty easy. People around here have been charged for swiping goo from the waste oil tanks behind restaurants. (Used to be some legal risk in running it w/o paying highway tax.)

In a few months, you’ll likely be known as dead. How about that?

I’d personally like to thank all the stupid or hateful people who’ve opted out of taking the life-saving vaccine - and then died - for voluntarily removing themselves from the gene pool. The gene pool has needed to be chlorinated for some time. Looks like COVID is that chlorination. Kudos for helping make life better for others.

Now, stop going to a hospital when you get sick. Stop taking up valuable hospital resources. You’ve made your choice.

Buh bye now.
