Colbert Notes That Melania “Doesn’t Believe” in the “Pee Pee Tape”

Christopher Steele upset our host this weekend when he shared his opinion that the infamous pee pee tape “probably” exists, contrary to the repeated denials from our former president and First Lady. Also, has Stephen Colbert been the real Man of Steel this whole time? #Colbert #Comedy #Monologue

from last thread:

re: #270 Punish Domestic Terrorists

Paris Hilton is right about a very serious topic. Looks like she’s grown up.

‘Basic human rights’: Paris Hilton urges Biden administration to reform ‘troubled teen industry’ (USA Today via MSN)

What a horrible story: I never thought I could ever feel sorry for Paris Hilton…..

Though I think she has a VERY steep uphill climb to try to get much - if any - oversight of the “troubled-teen industry”. For one, I gather that this is Big Business throughout the country: one with, no doubt, even bigger resources than Paris’s: for another, any sort of real “oversight” or “reform” is going to have go up against a pretty all-pervasive attitude in out society that minor children are basically their parents’ property; and that “family matters”* are a near-absolute forbidden zone for “government interference”, even in cases of neglect or abuse: and that attempting to enforce parental “norms” of social behavior via prison-camp-style brainwashing is not only to be tolerated, but considered a positive good by an all-too-pervasive percentage of the population.

Good luck, Ms. Hilton…

*for the “right” sort of families, of course…

“…Bannon attended the Rod of Iron Freedom Festival, as he has annually for several years. He has fostered connections among conservative and evangelical Christian audiences for more than a decade, and now seems to be preparing to exploit those relationships in a variety of ways. Bannon’s address to the group contained all of the half-truths, gross exaggerations, invented evidence, and irrational interpretations endemic to today’s MAGA-populist GOP. What is new is his insistence, based on an existing conflation between revolutionary clergy and modern Christian conservatives, that religious leaders should advocate the rejection of President Biden and his 2020 election victory as an act of piety among their followers.”

A more detailed Murdaugh update:

SC judge denies Alex Murdaugh bond in missing $3.4M case, orders psychiatric evaluation

Judge Clifton Newman, telling the courtroom, “There’s no amount of bond the court can set that can provide safety to Mr. Murdaugh and the community,” said he would also require Murdaugh, 53, a suspended lawyer, to have a psychiatric evaluation…

Newman said in making his decision, he considered whether Murdaugh, charged with two felony counts of obtaining property under false pretenses, posed a danger to the community and was a flight risk.

and speaking of unfortunate typos…

Last month, Bland and his fellow lawyer, Ronnie Richter, filed a civil lawsuit so full of details about Murdaugh’s alleged scheme to steal millions from Satterfield’s sons, that the Attorney General’s office and SLED have used much information from it to make their criminal case against murder.
