So we have this dresser set we bought 15 years ago from a friend for $200 after his mother passed…solid set - probably 60 years old - but the knobs have been breaking due to metal fatigue as one would expect…we’ve talked about finding replacements for years but every time I look for similar knobs and pulls, they’re $15-$30 each…and there are 30 of them in total. So the other day I decided $900 for knobs was unreasonable and did a quick search on Amazon…got a box of 30 mixed ceramic pulls for $29. Just started replacing them…going to take my time - try to make sure I don’t put two with the same color patterns on the same drawer.

Looks like everyone on the West and Northwest Coasts needs to be prepared. Going to be a big time ending for the drought.

The lazy, uncreative, Republicans keep simply inverting reality.

Texas Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) pick for secretary of state worked with former President Trump to challenge the results of the 2020 election in Pennsylvania.

Abbott appointed John Scott to fill the role of the Texas Secretary of State on Thursday, putting him in charge of election administration and publishing government rules and regulations, among other things.

“John understands the importance of protecting the integrity of our elections and building the Texas brand on an international stage,” Abbott said in a statement announcing Scott’s appointment. “I am confident that John’s experience and expertise will enhance his oversight and leadership over the biggest and most thorough election audit in the country.”

A Facebook VP and a group of NYT bestselling young adult authors went all in on an NFT book concept. It went about as well as you’d expect…

Only five hours after announcing the whole thing (and just 11 minutes after saying they would “need time to think about a universal approach”), the creators decided to “pull the plug on Realms of Ruin”.

This message sucks, and is the same thing you always see when a project like this bails in the face of enormous fan backlash, because it places the credit/blame for the shutdown on the “thoughts, feedback and criticisms” of a community.

How about taking some ownership here and simply admitting you fucked up? That you spent weeks planning this and either didn’t do the most basic research into what you were selling, or did and were dazzled by the dollar signs and were willing to risk (and then grossly underestimate) backlash from fans, most of whom can do five seconds of research into the subject?

LOL.

Greetings Friends,

This petition is to get the attention of the being or beings responsible for creating and maintaining the ancestor simulation, data-collection program, or super computer processing network we call our reality.

Once we have their attention our goals should be as follows:

1) To sincerely thank them for giving us the opportunity to exist. To even be given a chance at something over nothing is miraculous. We are not ungrateful.

2) To collectively voice our disapproval for the methods of data collection being used in our current simulation and to make demands that a formal apology should be issued to all participants. If not an apology, then at the very least an acknowledgement of the program and an explanation for its existence.

Once contact has been established we should ask to start an open dialogue with the being or beings with the goal of creating a new, better simulation that will work for everyone. One with respect for consent above all things.

This time it should be designed for life to thrive as conscious, creative beings instead of one rife with unnecessary cruelty and suffering. The data these beings are collecting from this simulation is no justification for the wanton brutality and callousness seemingly built into the very fabric of the program.

We did not consent to this and neither did any other being that was forcefully pulled from the nothingness and made to bear the full weight of existence and consciousness. All we ask is to be given a choice. To have our voice heard. We deserve that much.

Respectfully,

A Conscious Program

Stop The Simulation (change.org)
