re: #27 Charles Johnson

If Rittenhouse walks, I’m afraid things are going to explode.

I’m thinking so too. The Repugs know that a breakdown in the rule of law will force a violent reaction: That is specifically why they are forcing it. They even know that Repug capital assets will be targeted. They are fully prepared to mow down hordes of molotov flinging rioters who charge them like the Zulu at Rorke’s Drift. They are dreaming of it, it is their life’s ambition. They are convinced that their talisman-guns and inherent brutality will win it all for them.
Well, I have been poking around on the dark web again.
There is a lot of bullshit there, not just mountains of it, but whole planets and solar systems. Nevertheless, there are also some very astute and resourceful folks who have not yet shown their hand (for the obvious reason that there has been no justification for doing so.) When gun militias get semi-official sanction for their vigilantism and barbarism, it will be justified. Billions in assets will go up in flames, literal and figurative, but It will not happen the way the militias expect. The gun goobers won’t know what hit them.

BLM might be well-organized and well-led enough to not take the bait. They avoided the capitol on 1/6 to make it clear who the bad guys are.

We already had Any Ngo and his Proud Baby Pal Tony Moon stirring up trouble here in Koreatown. Tony Moon has said he is going to kill his enemies and the LAPD/LA Sheriff gives him a pass because they are on his side.

I fear what’s gonna happen.

They are certainly aware of the fascist game plan and they are determined not to go along with it. We need to support their efforts.
One thing to look for: If there is real rioting, or anything that would pass as such, expect Repug officials to mute police response in order to have an excuse for deputizing vigilantes.

Not going to happen IMHO. As I posted in a previous thread, the Wis. Gov has placed 500 National Guardsmen on alert status pending the verdict ANYBODY tries to start any shit and they’re going to stomped on real fast and real hard.

But I will not be surprised if DeSadist or Abbot don’t and they call for vigilantes.

For us oldz:

Your parents had to have let you stay up till midnight Friday/Saturday August 1, 1981 to have ever seen this. This probably all seems totally quaint and archaic now but this collectively blew us ALL away back in the day :)
EDIT: Had to remove about 3.5 mins of this due to a claim by “April Wine”…I really tried to get them to understand that this was an historical archive, *not* an attempt to steal money from their band….They didn’t want to hear it…All the other artist were totally ok with this but “April Wine” said FU. Go Figure : / EDIT: EDIT: Video was taken down again because Cliff Richard suddenly decided that I was ripping him off and shut down the video…I wrote back trying to get him to change his mind but no deal, had to chop Cliff out of the video for it to be posted again. Sorry everyone.

We already know from Minneapolis and other places that there will be chaos agents trying to look like “antifa” in order to stir up trouble. I’m not saying that there won’t be genuine protests and even some stupid acts, but it’s certainly not antifa types looking for a race war.

The three snow leopards at the Lincoln Children’s Zoo have died from COVID-19, the zoo reported on its Facebook page Friday — a month after announcing five of its big cats had tested positive for the virus.

It’s not clear from the post when the snow leopards — Ranney, Everest and Makalu — died, and zoo president and CEO John Chapo declined to release additional details Friday.

The zoo did report its Sumatran tigers — Axl and Kumar — seem to have fully recovered.

The zoo announced Oct. 13 the tigers and snow leopards had exhibited COVID-related symptoms the weekend before. Its staff collected fecal samples and nasal swabs and confirmed the infections.

We have similar issues here in Phoenix. In Summer 2020, a number of protesters were arrested at George Floyd flash mobs. (I didn’t go out because 20+ miles away at a time when the temps were hovering around a low of 95 F at night.) Ultimately, all the charges were dropped against protesters after it came out that the Phoenix PD created a fictional gang. abc15.com

There are also lawsuits pending. azmirror.com

I would suspect that pretty much every big city has this problem. We’re going to have to be careful.

For what *religion*? At the beginning of October, he was leading people in a prayer that came straight from Elizabeth Clare Prophet, of the “Church Universal and Triumphant”, a new age cult that believed the world was going to end in 1990. (Prophet died about a decade ago in a nursing home, I think.) Here’s a comparison of the prayers…

The new variable is a small influx of people as part of the Free State Project, an extreme libertarian movement. They run as GOP in state elections and sometimes win. Their adherents (or like minded) have been trolling and protesting GOP Gov. Sununu about mandates and federal money for health care connected to covid.

The Times reported that it was not clear what efforts were being made regarding the lawmaker’s request and that it was unclear why Ericksen was visiting El Salvador.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends against traveling to El Salvador unless fully vaccinated where COVID rates are high.

Ericksen’s spokesman Erik Smith told The Bellingham Herald he was not sure if Ericksen had been vaccinated against COVID and that he had not had direct contact with the lawmaker.

Nice photo. I’ve dabbled in astrophotography a few times. Got a nice silhouette of Balance Rock at Arches and night sky at Devil’s Tower and moonrise over Lake Powell with a night sky, but nothing compares to photos I took on the worst night in my life from a few years back. Kicking off a trip to a couple of national parks when I got the news. No where to go. Couldn’t get home. Grieving. All I had was the Mrs. and a gorgeous night sky in Great Sand Dunes NP.

So, that’s what I did. I pondered the universe and the meaning of it all. Got a few nice shots of the Milky Way. I will always treasure those photos as much as I hate having taken them in the circumstance.

Someday, I hope to go back out there, but I know it’ll be hard. But I will need to do it.

Mrs. Fish said on Monday that it took some convincing to get junior fishspawn to take her shot. My son was pretty indifferent, but the nurse was very apologetic after the epic fit my daughter threw. Great question. No one seems to know. From Yahoo:

It was unclear why Ericksen had traveled to El Salvador, though it wasn’t his first time in the country. As the Associated Press previously reported, Ericksen missed numerous votes in the state Senate earlier this year when he was on a trip there.

Ericksen in 2019 registered with the US Department of Justice as a foreign agent to lobby on behalf of the Cambodian government as part of a $500,000 contract with the country, the Seattle Times reported.

Ain’t nothin’ wrong with stepping back a bit and catching a breather, trust me. I’ve been feeling a bit overwhelmed myself these last few months and have taken a day or two away every week just to fuck around with video games or catch up on my shows.

Although the first time I decided to take a break, I was gone for 5 years. And came back to find out that most of the people I used to chat with had all been consigned to Gehenna and there was a bunch of kids running around the place.
